Windows Fax/Scan cannot fax through J4680.

My HP J4680 is connected wirelessly and all functions work fine, including fax. However, I would like to fax from the computer. Is this possible? Do I need additional hardware? Any help would be great.

Windows fax & scan error

I can't seem to find a solution to my problem.
Just recently I am unable to send a fax. The recipient has 2 numbers and both do not go through.
When I try to send the fax; new fax>to,subject,message body(Cut & Paste)>send>dial tone>hand shake>sending page> X(stopped) "Fax can't be sent because of an unexpected error....") "Fatal error" shows in details.
I have sent over 30 faxes to these numbers using my current system; Windows 7 (x64), internal fax modem, AT&T U-verse
I have sent a test fax (just the word "Test" in the body) to an HP fax number an received a reply. No problems. I also went through 'Device Manager' to try to update the driver. [Everything is working properly and I have the latest driver installed]

Windows Fax & Scan (Windows 7 x64 Home Prem.)

I have a Pavilion DV6T-1378nr. It is equipped with an LSI HDA Modem.
Today, I cannot send any faxes via Windows Fax & Scan. I get a Fatal Error message when the 3rd page is being sent.
Yesterday, I was able to send faxes with no problems. In fact, I sent a 22 page fax and it sent perfectly.
I have searched google with no luck. Any help with this issue would be appreciated.

I put together a new system with a GA-X58A-UD3R and REVODRIVE + Win7 64bit and have the same problem but results in the BSOD and requires loading SSD drivers to recover.
I'm not 00% sure it's the X-FI card but the problem stopped when I removed the card and drivers. Using the on-board souns works but can't compare to the X-fi quality?or ALchemy effects when gaming.
I've had the system running stable for over a week now and am tempted to try the X-fi card again but it's extremely painful to recover from the crash..
I took this X-fi Xtrememusic card from my other computer which also ran Win7-64 and had problems with that one too but finally got them installed and working by installing them inthe "SAFE" mode. Once it was in it worked great.

Windows Fax & Scan

I am having some strange challenges in configuring Windows Fax & Scan. I have all Windows 7 - 32 & 64 bit Professional versions, and I am having trouble with the following:
1) On both 32 & 64 bit machines, the Forward as Email button is grayed out, despite Outlook being set as the default mail client. This issue seems to be only on machines with Office 2013.
2) On certain machines when I click New Fax and go to select Address Book to select an entry from AD, but I am unable to browse AD from the Windows Fax & Scan Contacts List
Any help with either of these would be greatly appreciated!

For your first issue ,we have checked the "Forward as e-mail " setting in our Windows 8.1 Enterprise machine installed with Office 2013 and it can be chosen .
"despite Outlook being set as the default mail client"
How did you checked this ?We usually checked it in this path :Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Default Programs\Set Default Programs\Choose Outlook and then "Choose defaults for this program"
As an alternative choice ,we can use command " ftype | find /i "file type" " to check the association .
In our Windows 8.1 machine installed with office 2013,the file types will include these options:
Considering this is related to the office product too,it is recommended to ask help from our office forum at the same time .We may miss some configurations here.

For you second issue .

Do you mean it is not available to set up fax server ? Have you got any errors ?
If that is the issue ,try to logon with an domian administrator account to have a check .

Officejet 6700 Cannot Copy, Scan or Fax

I have an Officejet 6700 that I have barely used—and 99% of that was simple print jobs. After one batch of copies, I now get a notice stating that I cannot copy, scan, or fax. I don't care about the faxing, but I now need to do a decent amount of copying with this printer and am completely unable. When I try to copy I get a notice that the "original is jammed in the ADF". I have followed all instructions for checking this online that are available (and I have worked in publishing for 13 years and have a decent knowledge of copiers/printers) and I am certain that there is no paper jammed in the ADF. I have also tried unplugging the machine and plugging it back in several times.
Nothing works and am I frustrated that I have invested my money into a device that will not function at all for me after a minimal amount of use. Any suggestions for resloving this issue would be greatly appreciated.

I understand you can't copy, fax or scan.
I will be happy to help you.
I would do a power reset this way to see if that will resolve the issue.
With the printer still turned on, disconnect the power cable from the back of the printer, if the printer has external power module with a detachable power cord disconnect it for 15 seconds and then reconnect it.
Hold down the power button for 10 seconds to drain the power.
Then disconnect the power cable from the wall outlet.
Wait 10 seconds and reconnect the power cable back to the wall outlet first, then the back of the printer and power it on again.
Make sure the printer is connected directly to wall outlet. (don't use a power hub or a surge protector) The printer requires more power when scanning or copying.
I have provided a document to check for paper jams in the unit and ADF. This might be the one you have already tried. 'Paper Jam' Message Displays on the Printer.
Please check your private messages.

New officejet 6600 - Can't scan or fax, printing A-ok. Using wireless.

Hi I have read and tried every thread on this topic. it is now 6 hours later and about 30 restarts, installs, re-installs and re-re installs, oh and full uninstalls, each time turing off firewall and anti-virus. Microsoft paint won't work either, but the printer shows up in the windows scan and fax, but just hangs when trying to connect. I have tried HP printer and scanner trouble shooter recognizes the printer but when scan trouble is selected hangs also on drivers. What else.. umm I tried most of the help topics here... so who is up to the challange of this one. Windows 7 machine. I had a office jet 6700 connected last week worked great at work, so bought this 6600. I thought conflict but uninstalled all hp files and reinstalled using hp installation package. Followed thread on regestry updating, and services.msc. I read about reg edit or mechanic, have used AVG reg cleaner, but disabled it for the install.

Up until a week ago, this printer was performing just fine. I am unable to get it to copy, receive a fax, scan, or print.

When I tried to reinstall the drivers, I got ... "Error 0X00000643"
Ran "EndError" scan and fixed any/all problems.
Still ... No Joy. Still .... Unable to print.

Still No Joy !!
Screen on printer says "Now Printing"
However, nothing happens.
Does anyone have a suggestions?

It could be that the node that you are using for Fax is not active. Activate this and part of a problem was solved.
However, the fax no. has to be in the format <country code><fax no.>
This will solve the remaining problem and fax can now be sent.

FAX doesn't working through SIP

Hello.
Fax Machine is connected to SPA 122. Cisco CUCME is used. SPA 122 doesn't support SCCP (only SIP). Fax machine works as ordinary telephone device, but doesn't work as fax machine. What is a problem?

I understand that you are able to print, but you can't send a fax. I would like to help you.
Can you make a copy from the glass and ADF?
Print out a Fax test.
Touch the setup button, (wrench)
arrow to Service menu, press OK, then right arrow to fax service, OK, then run fax test.
You should have 4 passes if everything is communicating properly.
We need to check some settings on the printer for faxing.
Private receive:
On the printer touch the setup button, (wrench) right arrow to fax setup menu, OK, fax receive setup, OK, private receive, OK, turn it off.
Error correction:
Go to the setup button, (wrench) right arrow to fax setup, all faxes, error correction, OK, turn it off.
Speed:
Go to the setup button, (wrench) right arrow to fax setup, OK, all faxes, OK, fax speed, OK, change it to medium, OK.
Clear saved faxes:
Go to the setup button, (wrench) right arrow to fax functions menu, clear saved faxes, OK, OK to clear.
Try to send a fax again.
If you are still having issues then go through the steps to see if it will resolve this issue.
Cannot Send or Receive Faxes.

Did the fax test pass?
What type of connection do you have? (Analogue, DSL, Cable Modem)
Are you using the 2 wire phone cable?
Do you have distinctive ring set up?
Is there any voice mail set up?
Do you have a answering machine?
(Where is it connected to?)
Where is the fax cable connected to? (modem, wall jack)
Is there a phone also connected the printer?

To scan:
You may press the start scan button on the printers control panel or use the HP solution center that must be installed in your computer to scan a document or photo.
Scan to email:
Some printers don't have the option in the control panel for scan to email. Mostly it is with the HP solution center software that should be installed in your printer.
Note:
For Windows the software is called HP solution center
For Mac it is called HP utility

When will there be scan and fax drivers for kyocera FS-C2126 MFS

I am new to MAC OS X and was a bit astonished that the MFP printers manufactured by kyocera are not supported any more regarding scan and fax option. This was not really clear to me when I checked their driver homepage a few weeks ago. I managed to get at least printing work on my FS-C2126 with their drivers but kyocera support told me that scanning and fax is not supported under os x 10.7.x neither via USB nor via ethernet. From their side there's no plan to provide a new driver, they told me to ask apple about that issue. Thats a bit frustrating as the kyocera printers are commonly used in business environment and I cannot beleive that there should be no way to use them in combination with a mac...
Does anyone know a solution for these issues? Maybe a (commercial?) third party software? I could not find any clues in the internet. I already checked SANE for scandrivers but there are none.
What's your experience with apple regarding these things? Is it likely the'll provide drivers from their side?
Any help is welcome.

I totally agree but for whatever reason they don't at the moment....
I just read that apple is providing updated printer driver packages sometimes (they just released packages for samsung, canon, gestedner etc.) so it seems they do take care about these issues.

I understand you've been unable to get the information needed to use the scan to fax feature on your HP laserjet Pro 200 Color Mfp M276nw. If you're using 'Yahoo' as your mail provider, I recommend using the following settings:
SMTP server address: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
User name: Your full Yahoo Mail email address (including "@yahoo.com")
Password: Your Yahoo Mail password
Port: 465
TLS/SSL required: yes
