  • Itunes will not install..windows INSTALLER service not available.windows 7

    I am trying to find a fix for this...just bought a new computer with windows 7, all updates have been performed. Itunes will not install...it just stops and says "windows installer service not available" Can't find a stand alone downloadable version of installer 5.0 which is what comes with 7 from the research I have done. I have the newest version of itunes saved on desktop, tried running it from desktop, tried running as admin, tried several other ideas that I found on here and Microsoft..but nothing is working. Any advice?

    Same error message "This version is for a 32 bit computer, yours is a 64 bit!"
    Doublechecking ... by any chance did you migrate a 32-bit version of the iTunes, Apple Mobile Device Support and Bonjour programs to the 64-bit machine from a 32-bit machine using the PC Mover utility?
    (Your symptoms are consistent with that ... the installer service throws the message when trying to uninstall the 32-bit itunes and related 32-bit componentry prior to installing the new 64-bit versions.)

    What does the message say, exactly?
    Try this:
    From the Finder's Go menu, choose Computer:
    Double-click your hard disk icon. It is usually named "Macintosh HD":
    Look for this folder:
    If it appears in that window, drag it to the Trash.

  • Windows Audio service not running

    I have just built my new computer, and I loaded up windows on it, and everything is working fine but the audio. I have the X over the audio and the "audio service is not running" error. I tried to start The Windows Audio service in the service
    menu, but when I do that, I click the audio button and the red X reappears. I know I have all the dependant services enabled, because I have read through many forum posts. So, just to sum things up, all dependant services are on, I get the X error, and whenever
    I start the Windows audio service it seems like its working but when I click the volume bar the X reappears over the icon.

    Hello,
    I recommend reposting your question in one of the Windows forums, depending on which OS version you are running.  For example, either Windows 7 IT Pro or Windows 8.1 IT Pro forums.

  • [E2010] [EWS] [C#] [Windows]: Exchange-service not working anymore after upgrade to 2010

    I have searched for this error/question I have but the solutions were not related to my situation and/or didn't provide any further infiormation. That being said... Under Exchange 2007, following code was running properly:
    ServicePointManager.ServerCertificateValidationCallback = CertificateValidationCallBack;
    ExchangeService service = new ExchangeService(ExchangeVersion.Exchange2007_SP1);
    service.Url = new Uri(ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["ExchangeWebService"]);
    service.Credentials = CredentialCache.DefaultNetworkCredentials;
    EmailMessage mail = new EmailMessage(service);
    mail.Subject = subject;
    mail.Body = message;
    mail.Attachments.AddFileAttachment(row.Path);
    mail.ToRecipients.Add(receiver);
    mail.Send();
    Now, there has been a migration to Exchange 2010 and I get the following message from the `Microsoft.Exchange.WebServices.Data.ServiceResponseException` that is thrown:
    When making a request as an account that does not have a mailbox, you must specify the mailbox primary SMTP address for any distinguished folder Ids.
    I know that the enumeration for the ExchangeVersion can be changed but when I change this to `SharePoint2010` for example I get following error-message:
    Exchange Server doesn't support the requested version.
    Are there settings in Exchange that need to be set for which I have to contact the Exchange-administrator or is there something in the code that needs to be changed?

    Hi Abbas,
    I'm not quite clear on all API version changes, however I would indeed recommend trying the current version (which is downwards compatible). I think I remember something about 1.1 being slightly buggy, but that's more of an itch in the back of may brain
    than real knowledge. Still, being fairly current is a good state to be in usually.
    Given the information however, my best guess really is that they changed their transport rules to prohibit anonymous sending. If that's the case, the executing user either
    must be given either ...
    A valid mail address
    Sending as permissions
    or Impersonation permissions and the identity of the user to impersonate (who then will be the sender)
    or on the other hand, get permission to send mails anonymously (which is really a custom transport rule).
    Cheers,
    Fred

  • I have upgraded my itunes to 12.4 on my windows xp service pk system and it doesn't recognize my ipod half of the time and won't sync it! What can I do about this?

    I have upgraded my itunes to 1.4 on my windows xp service pk 3 system and now it won't recognize my ipod and let me sync it half of the time.  What can I do about this?

    It's not a "Reset" (except for the Reset of the iPod and possibly powering off the computer).  It's meant to be a test to see if there might be interference between connected USB devices, or if the total power draw of all connected USB devices is too high for your computer's USB bus.  If it always works when the iPod is the only connected device, but only sometimes works when you connect it with other devices, it may be one of those issues.  When it works, the set of connected (or active) devices is OK.
    If this is the case, you can go through a process of elimination to determine which device or combination of (active) devices causes the problem.  NOTE:  If one of your devices is an external hard drive that gets power from the USB port, power draw may be higher if it is currently active (spinning).  Also, the power draw of the iPod may be higher when it is charging its battery and/or syncing.
    Or are saying that the connected USB devices does not seem to matter, but doing a computer shut down always makes the iPod connect immediately after startup, but then the problem returns later?

  • Windows 8 does not have a USB boot option

    QuestionHow can I boot my Windows 8 laptop from a USB device? I created a recovery disk on a USB thumb drive.
    So far I have:
    Entered into the UEFI (BIOS) and set USB to boot first.
    Disabled secure boot.
    I tried to reboot using the general setup options for startup in the windows settings page. I choose boot from USB through the UEFI, but got an error message that system does not have a USB boot option.
    To confirm I also created a bootable DVD with an ISO burner, but my laptop cannot detect a DVD boot option either.
    I assumed that the firmware of the UEFI for this computer allowed a bootable USB but in practice I cannot seem to get this work.
    AnswerTo assist with not being able to boot from a USB device on a Windows 8 laptop, perform the following:
    Plug in USB bootable device.
    Hold down F12 when restarting and access UEFI menu (option is below drive list). If system is set to fast boot, CLICK HERE for instructions on entering the UEFI.
    Go to UEFI and make USB "1st boot".
    Disable secure boot.
    Go to the "Advance" Tab, select "System".
    Change boot order from UEFI to CSM.
    Save changes and exit (F10).
    Computer will restart and boot from USB drive.
    When finished go back into the UEFI and set defaults then save changes and exit (F10). Windows 8 will reboot normally next reboot.

    Done that, only choices are "Set up Firefox to Sync" & "Pair a Device". No ''UNLINK THIS DEVICE". Your turn.

    <span class="postdetails">Windows Vista Drivers for 820 and 66
    I hate to say this about E-MU but the way they are dealing with Vista Drivers is unprofessional. I am a repeat customer of Creative products and was so impressed by my old Platinum eX that I bought a second to run duals for tons of audio processing. That was back in the day. Then I jumpped ship and tried out an M-Audio Firewire 40. That did not last too long beforei was completely unimpressed. So I came back to Creative... Purchased a 820 in the box. So impressed I turned around and purchased a 66 in the box just 8 months later. Both ran smooth as butter... All until i just recently built my new system designed primarily with audio production in mind.
    With a setup like this, who needs a mac?
    AMD Athlon X2 x64 Dual Core +6000 3.0 Ghz
    2 Gigs Corsair
    Samsung SyncMaster 206BW 2" Wide Screen
    EVGA NVidia 9700s 256 DDR3 Graphics
    SATAs up the yin
    and a PCIMIA to PCI Dock
    All under Vista Ultimate OEM
    And Guess what?
    Months into RTM of Vista...
    E-MU is caught pushing release dates.
    Last month it said they would release beta drivers middle of April...
    I waited, patiently I might add.
    I waited<waited some more, I try running xp drivers... computer wont even try to install them properly.
    My software waits, computer waits, turns into a gameing machine just because my all together 600 dollar investments in Creative are not important enough to leld me the drivers i need to be producti've in what i love.
    I need x64 drivers stat. I need them working, I need them installable without a glitch, a hitch, no driver signing problems, no questions, no fuss no muss. I find it ironic that you guys at E-MU are willing to jump right in there and make sure to have drivers compatable for you new products, yet faithful advocats of the most powerful soundcards you have are sitting here dead in the water because you dont find it nessesary to place priority on ready and waiting end users who have purchased long term support buy investing large amounts of moola into hardware from your company.
    Come on, its not like the 820 or the 66 are exactly legacy technology. We are talking about Hardware that is only two years old and should be usable for up to 6 years. This is deffinatly a strike against the company and just goes to show where Creative stands.
    I have stood by waiting in silence for a very long time.
    Now i think my time has come to tell how i feel and i believe there are alot of others out there that feel the same. the only items that do not work soothly are my E-MUs... go figure.
    And I have been looking forward to all i can do running both of them side by side.
    Oh yes, and that link posted above to the beta news for vista... its a joke. open up your betas, and have a real dev tell us what the hang ups are... At least give us real concreate reasons why it is taking so long.
    with that said, when you guys get yoru act together and get me some drivers, I will sit happy as a lark.
    My thoughts for today.

    Hello Silas,
    sorry for my bad english
    I already checked that page. On the first time I was trying to install Vista on a clean hard drive. The installation process finishes without errors but after installation Vista shows me a lot of error messages, mostly about unknown hardware. So I installed all available drivers I have found on Toshiba web site. It not helped me too much, hardware problems still remains. I could not find out what exactly causes probles. Finally I decide to install XP and then upgrade to Vista. Now everything seems to be ok. :D
    There was some hardware problems but much easier to resolve. It seems to me that Toshiba did not provide all the drivers, for example StarForce Protection drivers. Vista did not recognized this hardware on the first time.
    Now it works!

  • Ready to install maverick, already downloaded and now I have a mt lion update

    What do I do now, I thought I had all the mountain lion updates. It's a new update and maverick install is sitting in my dock.
    I'm not all that tech savvy. I clicked on Safari and it already looks different.
    Thanx for any help.

    Try installing Mavericks and ignoring the other updates.  Your update to Mountain Lion would be tossed out anyway once Mavericks is installed.
    But please bear this in mind:  Once Mavericks is installed, depending on what other software you have, you are very likely to need additional updates.  Don't fail to check for updates in the App Store as soon as you get Mavericks installed.  Once you get them all installed, you can also go to System Preferences > Software Updates and set options to download future updates automatically so you won't have to think about it in the future.

  • Windows 7 service pack 2 and Firfox are now not compatable? Is there a fix?

    Windows 7 updated today. Firefox no longer works. States not compatible. Uninstalled and reloaded. Still no go. Is there a fix for this?

    The answer can be found here from a Microsoft thread (credit to Millie, not myself):
    After uninstalling KB2670838 IE9 and Firefox worked again, I then installed IE10 and found that the IE10 installer re-installed KB2670838 and Firefox would crash again but IE10 did not crash.
    After some searching, I found the Troubleshooting page at mozilla.org
    http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-extensions-themes-to-fix-problems
    Start Firefox in Safe Mode (hold the shift key when starting Firefox) then turn off hardware acceleration:
    At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button and then select Options At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Tools menu and then select Options On the menu bar, click on the Firefox menu and select Preferences...At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Edit menu and select Preferences
    Select the Advanced panel and the General tab.
    Uncheck Use hardware acceleration when available.
    At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button and then select Exit At the top of the Firefox window, click on the File menu and then select Exit On the menu bar, click on the Firefox menu and select Quit Firefox At the top of the Firefox window, click on the File menu and select Quit
    Start Firefox the way you normally do.
    Firefox does not crash on startup now.

  • Within last week got an update message accepted and then since have frequent "not responding" messages. Version 7.01, windows 7

    as above-new issue not experienced before

    The default of the pref network.http.max-connections has been increased from 30 to 256 in Firefox 6+ versions.
    You can try to decrease the value of the pref <b>network.http.max-connections</b> from 255 to a more modest setting like 30 as used in Firefox 3 versions.

  • Burnt windows install disk not showing up in boot camp

    im trying to install windows xp using bootcamp, but everytime i insert the windows disk, it reads it as a blank disk. i have mad a 30gb partition so im not over the 32gb, i had heard that was better for compatibility.
    is there anything i can do to help it recognize the disk? or do i just have to buy an authentic one?

    your mac seems to think you had installed windows before
    do you have more than 1 partition on your drive, if so, boot camp assistant will not work
    if not, restart your mac and do a pram reset
    open disk utility and repair permissions twice
    open bca and try again
