Wireless AP 3500 Upgrade

All,
I am upgrading a large number of 1142 access points with 3500's does and one know if the back plate for the 1142's can be reused for the 3500's.
Any Cisco documentation to clarify would be great.

MacBook can't see my home wireless network after upgrade to OSX 10.8.5

After upgrading to OSX 10.8.5, my MacBook does not detect any wireless nertworks. My iPad and iPhone work fine, my router has been rebooted, WiFi is turned on, and the ethernet connection is how I am writing this message to you via broadband. There are a half dozen wireless networks in range (according to my iPhone) but the MacBook cannot find the router I am sitting next to. Any ideas on how to correct this issue?

HT5815 I've just done the 10.8.5 update on my MacBook Pro end of 2008, and WiFi don't work after reboot... Impossible to activate it...

No wireless connections after upgrading to leopard!

Lost all wireless connection after upgrading to 10.5 osx. Getting frustrated with the upgrade after spending two hours on the phone with apple tech and was told that it was a third party issue! Able to access wireless with security turned off, but once I set sec password (WAP) no connection. What is strange is that I can receive and send email but no browser. All other Mac's/PC's connect fine. Other mac's have not been upgrade! Does anyone have any answers???

Sabertooth is right. If you are able to go online from your Router then you don't need to install LELA software on your Computer.

Can no longer connect to wireless router after upgrading to iTunes 9.2

My wireless connection was fine (using MacBook). After upgrading iTunes, I can not longer connect to router/modem wirelessly - am tethered with an ethernet cable. Spent 1 1/2 hours on phone with AT&T support reseting the passwords, security, etc. A PC laptop accepts password and can connect. My iPhone still can connect. But my MacBook (OS X 10.6) will not recognize my password for the modem/router. Everything has been re-booted and reset to original settings. Also, I received an iPad yesterday and it won't accept the password for our home wireless network. The password is correct because I am using it on other devices that are connecting to the network. Any ideas?

Yes, but the issue is not with Lion directly; there seems to be something with the upgraded system, perhaps a legacy setting or pref... I've scoured the system to no avail. I'm actually about to reinstall 10.6 - wasted too much time on this issue.

Cannot wireless scan since upgrade to 10.8.4

Greetings:
Canon MG5300 Series - latest software and firmware
MB 4,1: running 10.6.8 and prints and scans perfectly via wireless network.
MBP 8,1: originally 10.6.8 and prints and scanned perfectly via wireless network - upgraded to 10.8.2 and no more printing yes but, no scanning from either Image Capture or Preview. Scans fine from vendor app.
Wireless printing is fine from either Mac and iPhone
USB operation is also fine.
What's changed? I've performed every suggestion I could find, but to no avail.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks Eric for the response. I have done everything detailed in those instructions before - I tried them again, but to no avail. I feel that this is a ML issue
I can scan using the Canon software - but I cannot scan from either, Preview or Image Capture apps. When trying to scan from either of these apps, I get "AN ERROR OCCURED WHILE COMMUNICATING WITH THE SCANNER" Then all I can do is just close the window. Checking the system console logs showed no errors except for 1 instance of:
6/17/13 2:32:47.821 PM Image Capture Extension[579]: [2] Failed to register for death of process with pid: 591
I have no other wireless issues and as I noted before, it worked perfectly with Snow Leopard 10.6.8. Only after I "upgraded" to Mountain Lion 10.8.4, did these workflow productivity enhancements started showing up.
And yes, I clean installed 10.8.4 on a freshly formatted partition with no other software installed.

IPad Air's Wireless Disabled after upgrade to iOS 8.1.2

Guys.. anyone of you encountered that once your ipad air upgraded to iOS 8.1.2, the wireless is disabled and you can't enable it back????? i'm having this issue and now my ipad air can't use wireless. i have done everything including restoration at itunes and ipad reset to all are not helping...!!!! i really need a solution..

If Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings doesn't cure the problem you likely have a hardware problem. Visit an Apple Store for an evaluation or contact Apple: http://www.apple.com/contact/

Reconnecting to a wireless printer after upgrading to Yosemite 10.10.

We upgraded Mac software to 10.10 and lost connection to our HP Photosmart Plus wireless printer. Attempts to find the printer via hostname and/or IP address keep failing. Any ideas of how to proceed?

Problems w/ BEFW11S4 V.2 Wireless router (Firmware Upgrade & Wireless connectivity)

HI Everyone,
I figurd I try this before I went out an bought a new wireless router.
I have a Linksys BEFW11S4 v.2 wireless router/4port switch and I have (2) issues.
1st, on the HELP screen I have no link to 'upgrade firmware' - (currently using v1.40.2 Nov 28, 2001). I'v etried to download the uprgade and I have the .bin file saved, but have no idea how to upgrade without the UPGRADE link in Help.
Any ideas???
2nd, my wireless conenctions won't work (hence the reason I'm trying to uprgade the firmware - was hoping this might fix the wireless issue).
I have reset the device (reset button to factory defaults and currently have NO security setup for wireless - until I can get conenctivity working again).
Again, any ideas or experience with getting these sorts of problems resolved would be greatly appreciiated!

Were you able to get your issues fixed? I too have had some connection issues with the same router, although mine is V.4. On mine I would loose all connectivity, not just wireless, at random times. It seems like it would happen a lot when I would use the wireless for my laptop (i.e. when I would bring it out of sleep mode). I have also had it happen with streaming media. The only way I can fix this issue is to power down the router for a couple seconds and then it's fine, until it happens again. I had two different guys from Linksys (try to) help me and I did everything they recommended and it still does it.
Hopefully you don't have the same issue...

Weird wireless issue after upgrading to 3.1.2

Using my iPod Touch with 3.1.1, it connected fine to the wireless network here at work (WEP). Connects fine at home too.
Now upgraded to 3.1.2, still connects fine at home. At work, it connects but says "Not connected." I tried re-entering my WEP and tells me "cannot join network," yet...everything still works though.
I stream Slacker or SiriusXM through it all day. Using an Free IP utility I confirmed I am indeed connected to our network. I also get the wifi signal full strength.
So maybe this is more an annoyance than anything since it's working.

Try Forgetting the work Wi-Fi network by tapping Settings> Wi-Fi> the blue (>) icon next to the Wi-Fi network> Forget this Network.
You can also try Resetting Network Settings on the iPod touch by tapping Settings> General> Reset> Reset Network Settings.

Doesn't Make Wireless Connection After Upgrade to Leopard

G4 Mac mini, ethernet wired to a Belkin wireless G router via a cable modem to make wireless internet connection with my wife’s PowerBook G4 17” -- usually in the same room, but it works anywhere in the house. I’ve been running OS 10.4.11. All was fine. But now that I’ve upgraded (both machines) to OS 10.5.6, the PowerBook has lost it’s wireless connectivity to the router. It’s like Leopard simply doesn’t recognize the existence of the Belkin router. The Network folder in the System Preferences shows no connection to any of the modem types listed. The built-in Ethernet modem says “cable unplugged.” It would seem to me some sort of corruption has occurred in the Leopard install, but I have no idea how to find or fix it. I continue to have internet connection on my (wired) desk top Mac mini. Is this a problem I should take to the Leopard software forum? Any advise will be greatly appreciated. - Ken

It's more likely a software problem that something wrong with the PowerBook, so posting an additional question in the Leo forums' "Getting Online and Networking" sub-section is a good idea. Leave this one here in case it sounds familiar to other PB owners.

5GHz wireless unavailable since upgrading E2500 to Firmware 2.0

My 5GHz wireless is unavailable since upgrading E2500 to Firmware 2.0. I did a complete reconfiguration of the router after upgrading. Anyone one have any ideas on how to fix this?

I carefully followed the steps suggested. I did a 30 - 30 - 30 second hard reset of the router, reflashed the firmware, then did another 30 - 30 -30 second hard reset. Then I carefully reconfigured the router manually. Still no 5GHz radio. I then called Cisco support and they took me through severaltests, configuration checks, and reconfiguration steps. They agreed that the 5GHz radio was not working. I will be sending it back for warranty repair/replacement.
I configured my Verizon cable router wireless so I could take the Cisco router out of service. I don't have the dual radios or the guest channel.
I think I may buy a wireless AP that is rated for small business usage. I'm not sure the "home user" wireless routers are sufficiently robust for what now is home use.

Can't connect to wireless after Tiger upgrade

I have a Titanium Powerbook. I was able to easily connect to a wireless network when I used OS 10.1 (just selected network, put in password and was immediately connected).
I upgraded recently to Tiger and it detects the network, I put in my password, and it will connect for a second. Internet connect will say "Connected to 2WIRE_, Getting status" and the airport symbol in the menu bar will be black. Then it immediately switches to "Not associated with any network. Status not available" and the airport symbol is grey. I know it is connected for a little bit, because the widgits can update, but it doesn't stay connected long enough to use the internet. Other people using this network are not having a problem. What's the deal? Any ideas?

Thanks for the reply. The owner of the router assured me that another computer with Tiger has been able to connect to it just fine before, so this doesn't appear to be the problem.
I also was having problems with my computer not recognizing that there were CDs in it. So I restarted in OS 9, then reinstalled OS 10.4. This solved the CD problem, but not the connection problem. Sometimes it gives all the numbers in DHCP, so I wrote them all down and then entered them in manually. Now it says my computer is connected to the network, but I still can't get online. I realize I should check the router still, but I doubt that's the problem, since other people in the house can connect.
I'll try trashing the preferences file tonight, like you said.

Increasing wireless range by upgrading airport card?

I have had my powerbook G4 1.5 GHz for a little over 3 years and its been great for me except for its wireless range is somewhat lacking. When i have little or very limited connectivity people next to me with the new mac books have full reception. Now i know that their computers have new hardware and possibly better antennas but i was wondering if there was any way to increase the range of my powerbook by upgrading some of the internal hardware. I have seen other posts and people have shown products that are external but i feel that would be a last resort since they have a better chance of being broken. Is there any way to increase the reception by installing a new airport card or better antenna?

Since the day it was new, my son's Aluminum Powerbook with Airport Extreme card has had less than 1/3 the range of my Titanium Powerbook with original Airport card — and the Tibook's range isn't great. If you really want better range, a third-party CardBus wireless adapter is the way to go. Some can use optional auxiliary antennas to extend their range even more, but the card alone will give you a dramatic improvement.

Wireless LAN driver upgrade for Portege A100

My wireless LAN is Atheros AR 5001X+. I keep receiving upgrade notification from Toshiba for Intel Pro Wireless XXXX.
Can anyone help how to identify wich Intel driver I have to use for my system (Portege A100 with XP Pro)?

I wonder why you want to update the Intel WLan card driver.
According to your first message you use Atheros AR 5001X+ WLan card and not Intel WLan card. Please dont mix the Intel cards with Atheros cards.
Ps: if you want to check your Wlan card driver version you have to go to the device manager.
There you have to select the WLan card and access the properties (right click).
