Wireless mouse and keyboard for iMac G4?

Got an old iMac G4 (OS X 10.4.11) but would like a new keyboard and mouse and wondered if anyone knew of any that were compatible with my Mac? If you do I'd appreciate info on where I could buy, thanks.
*Just to add I've just bought a 'Newertech 802.11g/b Wireless USB 2.0 Stick Airport' so I can now connect to my new Sky Hub and have wireless internet on my Mac. Not sure if this helps regarding my above query?

i use the original apple wireless keyboard and mouse with my imac g4. no longer being sold new but you can pick them up on e-bay. unlike the new ones it has a number pad.

Can I use one wireless mouse and keyboard for a MB and a pc?

Hi,
I am planning to buy a lcd display which basically has both dvi and vga ports. So, I thought I will plug my pc into the vga and my MB into the DVI and use the same display for both machines. I just need to switch between the source through the display menu in order to switch. Now the problem is I can't seem to fiigure out how to use a single wireless KB and a mouse to run in both systems.
Anyone has any idea?

I can see the appeal of your desired setup, but is the limitation the inability to "Pair" the mouse/keyboard to more than one computer at a time? (Practically, that makes sense, you don't want to be blindly moving both cursors around at the same time, since you can only see one screen at a time)
You CAN operate bluetooth devices on Windows without pairing-you just need to locate the device each time before using:

So maybe you can pair the Mac version, and just search out the device each time you switch over? (but then you would have to "unpair" it off the Mac too) Maybe you need to write two scripts for each platform: pair/unpair devices.
Sounds like it would be easier to buy two wireless keyboards and mice :P

Why do I sometimes suddenly lose Bluetooth from my Imac? I use it for my wireless mouse and keyboard. I then can't find it in system preferences but have to shutdown my Mac and hope it comes back

This is an infuriating problem and wondered if it happens to other people too and if I am doing the right thing by turning the Mac off then on again.

Actually if You Use the wireless mouse during the setup for windows it works fine the only drawback it that using the wireless mouse on windows is that it drains the battery more quickly than Mac OS X does. So make sure you have extra batteries around

It is certainly difficult to use the computer if your wireless keyboard and mouse do not connect or stay connected. I found a few resources I recommend for this issue.

Wireless mouse and keyboard not recognized

I know that I have had this issue before, but can't remember what the solution is (old age?) My iMac G5 PPC has a wireless mouse and keyboard (the old apple white one). The iMac came with these as an option but WITHOUT the bluetooth card inside. (I still don't know how this works, but it does). Anyway, the mouse and keyboard were not recognized when I tried to get on today. The batteries are good. If I go to system prefs (using an even older wired mouse) there is no bluetooth option (since no card is present). I don't know how to get the computer to try to recognize both. Any help is definitely appreciated.

If the iMac didn't come with Bluetooth software/hardware, then are you using a USB Bluetooth dongle?
And open System Profile (Applications/Utilities)
Select Bluetooth on the left under Hardware. You may need to click the gray disclosure triangle so it faces down. What does it say on the right?
If the Bluetooth icon is in your Status Menu Bar (top right in your screen). Click the icon and make sure Bluetooth is turned on. Then click: Open Bluetooth Preferences and try re-pairing the mouse and keyboard.

Wireless Mouse and Keyboard don't work under bootcamp. Any suggestions?

I installed Windows 7 through Boot Camp. Everything works, but my wireless mouse and keyboard. If I add a wired mouse and keyboard, they work. Have reinstalled Bootcamp a few times, but when I try and add the devices. they are seen, but then can't pair.
Any help would be appreciated.

before actually performing the SMC, that is a dragnet kind of catch-all, sometimes.
All of my keyboard & mouse units are USB and I've gone as far as supplying the
mouse and other peripherals with a powered USB hub; so power from the Mac
isn't spread too thin. The keyboard is one of the only items that should be attached
to the USB port; as it has to work on startup pre-boot keyboard shortcuts... Such
as SafeBoot, PRAM reset, and others where you need a live keyboard and BT
may not be up to the task of being ready. Three going on four of my Macs have
bluetooth capabilities for those items; but I can't justify the continual upkeep cost.
Spare USB keyboards and a few extra mouse are handy as troubleshooting tools, too.

Perhaps the SMC pre-reset suggestions may help resolve the issue, if not, try reset.

Apple wireless mouse and keyboard stop working ... now says OS X version and bluetooth incompatible

For no apparent reason my apple wireless mouse and keyboard stopped working. I was not upgrading or installing anything, the batteries are good, nothing was changed as far as I know. Now bluetooth discovers the paired devices, connects for about 30 seconds, the disconnects ... or stays connected but doesn't work.
What's happenned ... I'm rushing to finish a big job ... any ideas? I've tried re-pairing but doesn't work ... says that OSX version may be incompatible with device bluetooth ... I'm using Lion so maybe there is another lion problem?

This is the method:
Go to system preferences>bluetooth. Highlight an item in the sidebar. If detailed information does not appear, click on the little gear and select show more info. Then click on the gear again and select favorite.
And how could an hardware-related problem be (temporarily) solved rebooting the OS?
Intermittent problems are, IMHO, most often caused by hardware. Restarting will occasionally "fix" problems - why, I do not know.

Not responsive wireless mouse and keyboard, No internet/wifi and Bluetooth connection.

I need help as both my wireless mouse and wireless keyboard are totally no responsive and I replaced them with fresh new batteries. My wifi/internet connection is offline too. My Bluetooth signal is the Bluetooth with jagged lines "Bluetooth offline". I tried to disconnect all my USB devices and restarted. I tried the methods listed here but to no avail.
Yesterday afternoon there was a lightning in the skies and it caused blackout throughout my whole house. So it might be due to the power surge from the Lightning but all my other devices like my iPhone and modem router are working fine. I restarted the router too. It was fine the whole evening till nighttime yesterday. This morning I woke up, I can't do anything at all.

First thing to try is resetting the PRAM per the instructions below. If that does not work then please use the instructions on how to connect a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard below.

The spinning wait cursor (or "beachball") generally means there's some problem that's causing the current app to freeze, or slowing down the current application, or that's slowing down the whole system.
Here's an overview of the spinning wait cursor.
Make a backup first, using the Disk Utility tool booted from your installation DVD to external storage. This backup to ensure you still have access to your most current and complete data, shut this be a problem with your hardware.
Then use Utilities > Activity Monitor.app and the Utilities > Console.app tools to see what's going on, and whether there are related errors being logged.

I deleted the mouse by selecting it in the bluetooth options and clicking the minus tab. I went ahead and reinstalled OS X right afterwards. Right now I am having to use a USB mouse and keyboard. I disconnected both prior to start up. I get a widow that shows a demonstration on how to install batteries into a wireless mouse only way to pass that screen was to reattach the USB mouse. Then with a fresh startup no resolve.

I have a new(ish) 27" iMac, OS X 10.6.3 [ with two-tone display ...but that's another story ]
I set it up with the wireless mouse and wireless keyboard that came with it.
The instructions were pretty clear how to "pair" the mouse and keyboard.
So I paired them both up and got started with my new iMac.
But I really didn't like either one (to each his own).
Tried my best but just never warmed up to them.
So, I have just gotten me new, third party, wired mouse and wired keyboard.
Question: am I supposed to formally UN-pair the mouse and keyboard?
Seems like you ought to.
Tell the iMac to quit looking for them?
There's an on/off switch on the mouse.
I can just turn it off.
But do I UN-pair it first.
Or anything?
And...there's what the manual says is an on/off switch on the keyboard.
But it seems to be an "on/on" switch.
Maybe this is a "small deal".
Or maybe it is a "no deal at all".
But I find that some times it DOES make a difference whether you do something just the right way or not.
So, just trying to find out.

I have also invoked the wrath of someone that I was assisting with an issue who accused me "assuming" that they were a beginner and of talking down to them. It is often a thankless position.
I was mainly poking fun at myself for being so basic in my understanding of some of this stuff.
But I understand exactly what you're saying.
Hard to know isn't it?
I believe that if you highlight each device separately in the list, that you can then select the - symbol next to the cogwheel and delete the device altogether from your iMac.
Well, I WAS highlighting each device separately, but all the "cogwheel" was giving me was the "disconnect" option.
Then I wondered, hmmm... what's these little "+" and "-" symbols next to the cogwheel mean?
BAM! yep, the minus sign removes them from the computer completely.
..which, if I'm not going to be using them again was what seemed TO ME the thing to do.

New wireless mouse and keyboard issues

I have a new 20", 2.4GHz alu iMac, and I ordered it with the new bluetooth keyboard, and bluetooth mighty mouse. They've always worked great, but yesterday, the mouse has had intermittant lag, and it says that the keyboard has lost connection. I've been running Leopard since it came out, and I've never had such problems with Tiger. I reinstalled Leopard a few hours ago (erase and install), and I'm still getting the lag. I wanted to see whether it is my mouse, so I tried pairing it with my brother's white intel iMac, and it couldn't pair, but it made my brother's bluetooth mighty mouse lag too! Could this be due to interference? Our rooms are right beside each other.
Also, when the lag occurs, I get the message that its lost connection with the keyboard, however it still works perfectly. The lag is very noticeable, and it takes about 3-4 times longer for the mouse to move, while being very choppy. This is for about 10-15 seconds, and then it goes normal speed again.
Is anyone else having this challenge? Could anyone diagnose whether it's likely to be the computer, the mouse, or interference, (or other!)?
Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

I have a 6 week old imac 24" alu intel with wireless keyboard & mouse and it was all working fine until the 10.5.1 upgrade. it also started on the same day there was a big rain storm so I thought that might be messing with my blue tooth connections. i have no other bluetooth devices other than the mouse and keyboard. at first it was intolerable. i'd get the keyboard connection lost message every few minutes, the keyboard would continue to function and the mouse would go very sluggish for a minute or 2. this was happening every 5 minutes or so. i deleted each one an reconnected, shut everything off, restarted the computer and it seemed ok for about 1 hour and then it happened again a few times. definitely not as often as before but it still happens from time to time every few hours. power on both is about 75% and seeing as they have new duracel batteries i'm sure they are not dead.
I did the auto update to 10.5.1 and had all the permission issues so then downloaded and installed the larger 100+ meg update. not sure if this has caused any problems.
So far leopard has only been a pain. Reason 4 crashes, Parallels 3 crashes, Mail crashes (I wrote some important notes which I guess don't get automatically saved like drafts and lost the notes when mail crashed several hours after I wrote them), my software update even crashed once. is Leopard built on OS 9 technology? what a disappointment.
Oh and internet and wireless connection to ADSL seems pretty slow, slower than tiger I think.
Windows should start a new campaign called "Come back".
One last beef, do other people find this wireless keyword (metal) not so responsive, letters get missed as I type, space bar is stiff and squeaky, overall not great for someone doing a lot of writing? that's what I think.
