we have WISM module with version 3.2.78.0
we have received huge amount of snmp alerts from WISMs as the follows :

we want to know the cause of this log messages and how to solve them quickly.

correct. "use the same format as received" means if the original message was sent as HTML, plain text, or RTF, when you reply or forward, keep the message as HTML, RTF, or plain text.
Some mail programs also have an option to automatically make any forwarded message an attachment instead of allowing your response to be added to the top.
It may not be in options....I just found an article reading:
To forward the message as a message, choose Message > Forward, or click the Forward button in the toolbar. To forward the message as an attachment, choose Message > “Forward as Attachment.”
You can set options for forwarding messages, including whether to quote the text of the original message and increase the quote level, as well as how much of the original text to include. Choose Mail > Preferences, click Composing, and then use the options in the Responding section.
So the as attachment or as inline text may lurking under the Compose preference

This I have seen before...
It can be that the SMTP relay server is configured to only allow certain IP ranges or addresses.
It can be that the firewall on the SP server does not allow for SMTP traffic (normally 25, for example for Exchange).
It can be that there is an Antivirus on the SP server(Client AV) that prohobits the Timer service to send email from this server. I have seen MacAfee do this. Needed an policy change.
If, its the builtin SMTP service you are using, check this link:

Sender File Adapter: No Messages

Hi,
I have configured a sender file adapter to read a flat file using file format conversion, in the file poler mode using NFS. I could confirm that the File is being read, and the adapter status from the Adapter framework (is:port/AdapterFramework) indicates the adapter is working fine (Green light, and last message processed at XXX........).
However, I did not find any messages from SXMB_MONI.
Further, I got inot the RWB, and found the following Audit log:
It indicates an error "Transmitting the message to endpoint http://kansbwul01:50000/sap/xi/engine/entry?action=execute using connection AFW failed, due to: Received HTTP response code 404.."
What is the problem, and how can I resolve it?

Send Idoc flat file message in JMS receiver adapter

Hello,
I am working on a scenario where we send Delvry 03 idoc from ECC to external system. To external system, we send the whole Idoc in flat file structure through JMS queue. I have used Idoc to flat file program in my interface mapping and have configured JMS receiver adapter with just default Module configs but, I am getting an error in communication channel monitoring for the messages.
Please note that Idoc xml to flat file structure conversion is already done in the mapping, I need to just pass this idoc flat structure in the jms adapter. Hence ther eis no content conversion i nthe adapter..
Please give some inputs..Here are the modules in my receiver adapter and nothing else..

The error I get is in audit log

in turn the message has this error if I open the message
Whitespace is not allowed at this location. Error processing resource 'http://host:port/mdt/messageconten...
and it shows one of the lines from idoc..flat file

The difference in what I suggest is that it is way simpler.
Maybe you did not understand this, so will try to explain it better. Its not the best thing to do, but if JMS adapter doesn't budge then you can give it a shot.
1. You continue to use the ABAP mapping in your interface mapping to map the Idoc xml to Idoc flat.
2. Write a Java Map that will take the output of the ABAP mapping ; and then create a XML output which would be something like,

</Idoc_Flat>
</Root>
3. Now use the simple content conversion in the JMS adapter to convert this to flat file.

Problem to send result from log file, the logfile is to large

Hi SCOM people!
I have problem when monitoring a log file on a Red Hat system, I get a alert that tells me that the log file is too large to send (see the alert context below).I guess that the problem is that the server logs to much between the 5 minutes that SCOM checks.
Any ideas how to solve this?

Hi Fredrik,
At any one time, SCX can return 500 matching lines. If you're trying to return > 500 matching lines, then SCX will throttle your limit to 500 lines (that is, it'll return 500 lines, note where it left off, and pick up where it left off next time log files
are scanned).
Now, be aware that Operations Manager will "cook down" multiple regular expressions to a single agent query. This is done for efficiency purposes. What this means: If you have 10 different, unrelated regular expressions against a single log file, all of
these will be "cooked down" and presented to the agent as one single request. However, each of these separate regular expressions, collectively, are limited to 500 matching lines. Hope this makes sense.
This limit is set because (at least at the time) we didn't think Operations Manager itself could handle a larger response on the management server itself. That is, it's not an agent issue as such, it's a management server issue.
So, with that in mind, you have several options:
If you have separate RegEx expressions, you can reconfigure your logging (presumably done via syslog?) to log your larger log messages to a separate log file. This will help "cook down", but ultimately, the limit of 500 RegEx results is still there; you're
just mitigating cook down.
If a single RegEx expression is matching > 500 lines, there is no workaround to this today. This is a hardcoded limit in the agent, and can't be overridden.
Now, if you're certain that your regular expression is matching < 500 lines, yet you're getting this error, then I'd suggest contacting Microsoft Support Services to open an RFC and have this issue escalated to the product team. Due to a logging issue
within logfilereader, I'm not certain you can enable tracing to see exactly what's going on (although you could use command line queries to see what's happening internally). This is involved enough where it's best to get Microsoft Support involved.
But as I said, this is only useful if you're certain that your regular expression is matching < 500 lines. If you are matching more than this, this is a known restriction today. But with an RFC, even that could at least be evaluated to see exactly the
load > 500 matches will have on the management server.

Can I send someone a followup message while I wait...

I just added someone on skype, but since sending a contact request only allows for a very limited amount of words to be sent with the request, I was wondering if I could send someone a longer message after the initial request. What I mean is, while I wait for the person to get around to accepting my request, it says 'contact request sent' at the top of the chat log and the bar that you can type to them in isn't greyed out; it seems like I can send them another message without having to wait for them to click accept. Will the person be able to see this message even though they haven't accepted my request just yet? I'm anxious to send them something before I forget so I wanted to know if I could do that while it still says 'contact request sent - resend contact request', and will they see it when I send it? thanks a bunch!

Im not sure what's the problem, but let's try to figure it out. First of all explain what do you mean by "it works very bad". Doest it hang, is it slow, is quality unacceptable.
Myself, I have one problem with JMF. When i run video & audio on my Centrino 1.4 GHz, it just takes 100% CPU! And of course quality becomes degraded. Check if you have something like this.

Today I stupidly tried to install CUDA accelerator forgetting I have Intel/AMD combo graphics card and not NVidia. Now when I try to launch AE or PremierePro I get this Last log message was: <140735120521568> <GPUManager> <2> Sniffer Result Code: 3. I have trashed the CUDA program and reinstalled Premiere and AE but no joy. Same message followed by another error box with options to Retry, Send to Apple or ignore. I have tried all 3 options but nothing works! Every time I launch either program same message appears.

/dev/hme and /dev/ip trace/log messages

Hi,
I want to enable debug messages from above drivers. I tried setting "ip_debug" flag using "ndd" but I did not see any debugging messaged in "/var/adm/messages". Where does IP send its debug messages? How about /dev/hme? Is there any debug facility?

You probably have this "logging" configuration set
logging trap debugging
This can be confirmed by using the below command to show all "logging" related configurations
show run logging
The "logging trap" sets the level of log messages that are sent to your Syslog server. So considering its set to "debugging" or "7" means that you are essentially logging everything possible with regards to the logging level.
The more typical level for this is either "informational" or "notifications"
I tend to keep it at "informational" though it generates a lot of logs still but its good in the sense that it logs all the connections/translations formed on the firewall and also logs when they are removed from the firewall.
If you were to configure "notifications" you would only tend to see the connections attempts that are blocked by the firewall and the log amount would be pretty minimal
Then again you also have the option to disable certain log messages altogether. You could for example disable the messages that tell you that a translation was formed/teardown which would already remove a considerable amount of logged messages.
Then I guess there might be change to create a custom list of messages you are interested in also.
You can also change the default level at which some logging level is logged.
I guess the last options I mention would take some research on your part to determine which would serve you the best.
The last options you mention in the post dont have anything to do with the Syslog servers logging. They are related to the console connection and the logs that is stored in the firewalls buffer which should be visible with the "show logging" command.

Problems with using System.Diagnostics.EventLog to retrieve event log messages

In my app I am retrieving error and critical events from application and system log - but for some reason what it is returning doesn't tally with what I see in event viewer
For example:-
1) Source is SideBySide and shows in event viewer with Event ID of 33 - but in my app it is returning an event ID of 3238068257 - all other details such as message are correct - other event sources show fine
2) A lot of the system event log messages are showing wrong error message - in event log it shows correctly but in my app it is retrieving messages like this "The description for Event ID '41' in Source 'Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-Power' cannot be
found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display message, or you may not have permission to access them" - I am running the app with admin rights?, so not sure why not showing same message as it
shows in event viewer i.e "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly."

Att Partners: Please log messages using customer ID

Hello All SAP Business One Partners,
In order to bring additional transparency to our reporting systems and to ensure compliance we will being in 2012 Q2 to send notifications where a message is logged to SAP Business One Support using the Partner ID instead of the correct original Customer ID, the message itself will be processed as normal and only a notification will be sent. While there will be certain exceptions based on component etc., we would ask that all messages originate from a valid Customer ID. The component SBO-SDK* will be exlcuded as it is expected many of these issues will arise from ISV reporting an issue based on their own Add-On development.
If you must open a message using a Partner ID, please include in the message text a brief explanation for why the Customer ID cannot be used. Beginning in Q3 we will no longer process these messages and will be returned requesting a new message using correct ID.
We appreciate your cooperation in this matter. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us via the normal support channels.

I was experiencing a similar issue to what you're describing. Here is what I found may have been the cause and solution to my problem.
I use KeePassX to manage my personal passwords for my various online accounts. It seems that when I was using the shortcut to copy the password of the selected entry in the list of entries, it would then paste an extra one or two characters into that field specifically. I finally tried opening the entry for editting, viewing the password, and copying the password directly from the editting area. When I pasted that into the password field, it pasted a character or two less (I noticed because the dots in the field were less than what I had just entered incorrectly).
It seemed to work for me once I copied it using alternate methods.

Unsafe Javascript log messages

My console.log has lots of log messages like this:
Unsafe JavaScript attempt to access frame with URL http://www.ebay.com/ from frame with URL http://my.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?MfcISAPICommand=getFavoriteNav. Domains must match.
In many cases the domains really are unrelated; for instance, www.versiontracker.com tries to access img.mediaplex.com, and I suspect these are related to advertising banners.
Are these causing these pages to misbehave in Safari? Is this a security precaution that other browsers don't perform? Should web site designers be fixing their sites so that they need to link between domains? Notice that in the case of eBay, they're just different ebay.com servers.

That doesn't seem related to this issue, it's not about a log message from Safari, it's about a message that a particular web site sends on their page.
i did not know one way or the other, do you maybe have a ScamBlocker with
your IP, maybe Earthlink,i have them & i get javascript errors at some sites,
In fact, I'm kind of suspicious of the answer on that page. They say that the web site determines what country you're in by the browser language, but I think most sites actually do this by looking at your IP and matching it against geographic IP assignments (this isn't completely accurate, but it's what many sites do anyway).
I do not really know much about this & how it is done, only that there is no such thing as anonymity on the web.
Hope someone else chimes in with more info & helps you out.If i see any thing that seems related, i'll post back.

There's pretty much no diagnosing those -- they are the equivalent of the random errors in Windows for which tracing the root cause is fruitless. Basically, these are the last out in the programming code -- some event occurred for which there is no handler in the code. The fix is a code update that handles the event...but, again, knowing what the event is is pretty much impossible. So, there are a few things to try:
Sometimes, the code simply becomes corrupt and needs to be refreshed -- just like a reboot:
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
If it won't boot up cleanly, then you may need to try Safe Mode:

The toughest possible cause is a badly behaving app. To find it, there are a couple of options. One is to see if you can read the log file:
Go to the home screen. Hold down the "alt" key and type 'lglg'. (You will not see anything while you type).This will bring up the log file. Scroll down (probably many pages) untill you see a line that says 'uncaught execption'. Click on this line. The name of the app will be in the info. Alternative methods for bringing up the logs are in this KB:

The other method is to remove apps one at a time, waiting a while in between (I usually recommend a week), until the problem ceases...thereby discovering the offending app. Still another method is to reload the BB OS cleanly, leaving some time between adding other apps onto the BB so as to be able to determine exactly which one is the cause.

this is a template of a ps1 script i wrote. This will send the above email based on a specific event ID for the microsoft failover cluster / operational, say ID 5143 for example. My question is how do i include in that script to also include a copy of the
log for that event ID in the body of the email ?

You problem with this code is that the SMTPClient send method does not handle attachements.
Instead, try creating the message, using the system.net.mail.mailmessage class to create the message.Then create a mail attachment. Finally, add the attachment to the message. This allows you to craate an attachment, then use the SMTPServer object to send
that mail.
The code should look something like this:
$To      = "[email protected]"
$From    = "[email protected]"
$Subject = "Using the .NET SMTP client."
$Body    = "Using this .NET feature, you can send an e-mail message from an application very easily."
# Create mail message
