I got this problem when I tried to configure out-going email and add an account to farm administrator group.
I configure out-going email according to this website http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc288949.aspx

The SMTP server and email accounts work out OK when I use Outlook 2010 to test.

Hi.
This I have seen before...
It can be that the SMTP relay server is configured to only allow certain IP ranges or addresses.
It can be that the firewall on the SP server does not allow for SMTP traffic (normally 25, for example for Exchange).
It can be that there is an Antivirus on the SP server(Client AV) that prohobits the Timer service to send email from this server. I have seen MacAfee do this. Needed an policy change.
If, its the builtin SMTP service you are using, check this link:

Can i retro grade back to the last version?uninstalled firefox ....deleted all files still remaining under mozilla firefox directory in program files ... to avoid having to reprogram all my settings, reisntall all addons as well .. I did not remove anything from mozilla firefox that is stored in either appdata or under the windows users directory (if any)
... the as suggested reinstalled the latest version of the firefox browser using the link you provided in the email ..; tested and several issues still remain present and unresolved ....
so please this is urgent or I will have to jump browsers and start using chrome .. because we work 14 hours a day 6 (sometimes 7) days a week, to get ready for the launch of our newest venture and we cannot lose that much days on browser related issues ... so please instead of putting me through week long step process .. of do this .. do that .. can you please actually look into the issue from your end .. but using destype mail, it fails, whether i use the url, or use the even driven api procedure..

I am attempting to install Exchange 2013 on to a 2008R2 Server on a domain running 2008R2 DC's. I have worked every error resolution I can find, but I can't get past this error.
Error:

So this morning, the sound on my MacBookPro was working perfectly, but then all of the sudden, the sound didn't work. When i turned the volume up, it showed it turning up, but there was no noise. I also tried plugging in my earphones, and it still didn't work. I don't know what to do!!
Go step by step and test.
1. System Preference > Sound > Output > Internal Speakers
Highlight Internal Speakers / Headphones
Make sure that Mute is not enabled.
2.Plug in and remove the headphone.
If you see red light in the headphone port, plug the headphone
in and out of the port 5 or 6 times to flip the microswitch inside.
Sound output may be stuck in the digital mode.
3. Reset PRAM. http://support.apple.com/kb/PH4405
4. Reset SMC. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
Choose the method for:
"Resetting SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own".
5. Applications > Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup

I am using Oracle 10g Rel2 application server on linux environment. I am calling oracle reports from forms i am getting REP-50159: Executed successfully but there were some errors when distribute error.
I am using Destype :PRINTER and Desname:Printername. Please help us in resloving this issue.

My iPod Touch battery is not working. I requested a repair through the Apple Support. On the final page, when I clicked the button that puts the info through with your credit card number, the resulting page gave an error (I wish I'd have saved it!). Anyhow, I checked my credit card and it was charged, so I assumed the repair request went through. The next day I received a form email saying my problem was with "Sync with iTunes (Not iCloud) - Data Backup/Migration (not iCloud)" instead of the battery repair. It also says for iPod customers, to send your iPod to Apple - but I had requested the "iPod Coffin" to be mailed to me so I could send it back. Obviously there was an error between the request and what was received, so I'd like to ask Customer Service about it. However, I can't find a way to contact them. When I replied to that form email, I recieved an automated reply saying emails there were not read. Anything online asks me to pay $19 and I don't have the correct issues to request an exception. The closest store is over an hour away or I'd simply go there to ask. What can I do?! Any suggestions you have are much appreciated. Thank you!
PS - The form email also says if I wait 10 days the repair request will be canceled. Does this mean my credit card will be refunded for the $85 battery replacement charge if it is canceled automatically?Thanks, but I've been on the phone with AppleCare US (where I am and live) and AppleCare UK. They continue bouncing me back and forth without helping resolve the problem.

I plugged in my iPod and it needed an update. Before the update could complete it said there was an error and then closed the window. Now my iPod is stuck in the loading screen and won't register in iTunes. Please Help.

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...

2. If you did not do step 4 properly, start all over again. -
just checked the settings ... they have been reset to never retain history.... previous history is still there...... settings reset to always retain history & history has begun to collect again.

is it likely to happen again?History that is lost can't be retrieved, but if Firefox is currently keeping history then it should be fine for now.
You would need an older copy of the places.sqlite database file to get the lost history back.
