  • Exchange Rate Difference generated when process payment w/ withholding tax

I post a foreign currency vendor invoice w/ withholding tax posting
that is related to the expense transaction. We have assigned a
withholding tax type '01' for invoice posting (that means the
withholding tax calculated during invoice posting). And this
withholding tax amount is calculated using special exchange rate
announced by Bank of Thailand (BOT). And this posting is fine. e.g. Dr
Expense Cr Vendor Cr Withholding tax.. The withholding tax amount is
calculated based on BOT rate, Expense posting is based on M rate and
the AP posting is equal to Expense Posting minus withholding tax
    posting..
Assume BOT Rate is 3:1 and M rate is 2:1
    FC LC
    Dr Expense 100 200
    Cr Vendor 85 155
    Cr WH Tax 15 45
When I process outgoing payment with foreign currency for this invoice,
system always take M rate (or I use special document type to force the
system use BOT rate), but either these two results will make the
posting imbalance in Local currency, then make posting to exchange
    gain/loss..
How can this problem solved? Any configuration control? Or what we only
can do is to input the LC amount during payment posting..
    Please advice.

  • Multiple vendor line items during IR with different withholding tax status

Business scenario:  During IR, several vendor line items are being processed, some are stock materials, others are service materials (using material group).  Only the service materials are subject to withholding tax.
Problem:  Since the withholding tax type/code is maintained at the company code level of the vendor master, it is not possible to select only the service materials as subject to withholding tax.
Has anyone encountered this problem before?  if yes, please advise solution adopted.
    Thanks.

I think through condition type / condition record, you can reduce the amount payable to the vendor and post it to another GL account. But if you do not update the amount in the W/tax  base and w/tax amount, you will not be able to use standard reports of w/tax. May be condition types can be used to do the calculation of w/tax amount and w/tax base amount. Build the logic in the interfcae of e-invoice and SAP to update W/tax fields in vendor invoice.

            - Transaction FB75 have a Tab "Withholding Tax".
            - Here, there is a Table control with 6 rows.
            - While creating Credit Memo it populate this table control with Withholding  taxes.
            - The main task is,<b>Based on certain condition, I want to clear few Withholding tax values.</b>
            - If This table control has only 6 rows populated, then there is no orblem.
            - But in case of more then 6 withholding tax values i need to scroll down and process, however, that again we can do using p++ or P+ things.

    Hi Vijay
credit memo request is a sales document used in complaints processing to request credit for a customer.
    EXAMP--->
If the price calculated for the customer was too high (for example, with the wrong scaled prices or because a discount was forgotten), you can create a credit memo request. The credit memo request can be automatically blocked for checking. Once it has been approved, you can remove the block.
The system uses the credit memo request to create a credit memo.

  • How to avoid withholding tax posting in the case of ERS

    Hi
We are trying to process Rent using Frame work Order.
The issue here is withholding tax codes maintained for other purposes like Professional Fee, etc in the vendor master gets picked up automatically in this Rent invoice and the relevant WH Tax postings are made in the accounting document.
Being ERS and usage of T code MRRL, the invoice generation is automatic instead of manual MIRO. Hence, user has no control to deselect withholding tax codes while generating invoices.
Appreicate any suggestions how to avoid this?
    OR
Is there any way of posting rent using frame work order instead of ERS (ie MRRL)?
Please let me know if I m not clear.
    Thanks
    Sridevi
PS: In Spain, there is no WH tax on Rent

    Hi,
Assign a new Accounting Document to T. Code "MRIS" in OMR4.
First create a new Document Type
Then Assign Document Types in Invoice Verification
Now go to OBBH - Substitution in Accounting Documents and write substitution for this new FI Doc Type and T. Code MRIS. Here take help of your FI consultant.
You can use field XREF3 - Cash Flow, and keep constant vale for this as "Blank" since it is Relevant with Cash Flow.

  • Generic Withholding Tax Reporting Error

    Dear SAP Experts,
We have been using the classic Withholding Tax which works just fine to generate print outs and the electronic file that we submit to the IRS. However,  it does not seem to correctly provided data for alternate payees for example: if vendor A provides invoice and if we pay to vendor B  (which is same vendor at different address) the system does not pick up the payment..The actual payment generates the 1099 requirement. If we were not submitting electronically we could execute the 1099  report for invoices as opposed to payments (for just those vendors with alternate payees).
I would appreciate if anyone could help me in resolving this issue.
Actually we are thinking to use the extended withholding tax but it does not appear to work correctly either it is not set up to generate the e-file or hardcopy 1099s and it also seems to be fixed on looking at invoices not payments.(which i think is not correct) For example .if we get in invoice in Dec 2009 ...but do not pay until Jan 2010...the invoice should not be counted in 2009 1099 data...the payment should be counted in 2010 1099 data. I wanted to confirm if the extended withholding tax performs in the way that i mentioned above, or  iam wrong.
    Kind Regards
    Jai

We are on ECC 6.0 and have been using the Extended Withholding Tax and it works correctly for Alternative Payees.  Where we have the vendor master set up with an alternate or permitted payee.  The 1099 is produced on the main vendor's ID and not the remit to address.  In config, you have a choice whether to produce the file/forms based off the invoice or payment.  It's under the Define Output Group.  Choose your process (i.e. US_1099).  There's a section entitled "Read Withholding Tax Items from" and you can choose Option 2 for Vendor Payments.  This Define Output Group is also where you configure which Smart form to use and your DME file format and where to save your file.  Hope that helps.

  • S_P00_07000134 Generic Withholding Tax Reporting for US 1099

    Hi Every One!
We are in the process of printing the 1099 forms for vendors. When we ran the report S_P00_07000134 for the vendors who exists in multiple companies, 1099 form is not summing-up the amounts for all the companies insted it is printing seperate forms for seperate companies with respective amounts.
We wanted the form to sum-up all the company code amounts for a vendor and create only one form with accumilated amount of all the companies.
Can you please help us in resolving this issue. This is very important for us to resolve immideatly.
We are also seeing the message withholding tax reference number missing in the report, does this message has any significance with the actual problem.
Your help is highly appreciated and rewarded.
    We are in ECC 6.0.
    Thank You,

  • 1099 Report for OTV - Classic Withholding Tax

    Hello Members,
We run on SAP ERP 6.0 EHP6 and use the classic withholding tax functionality.
Wondering what the rest of the world with classic setup is using for 1099-MISC reporting for one time vendors ?
Currently we follow a cumbersome process of pulling FBL1N report (which doesn't have otv address information), and then FCHN to get vendor address details. With this we change a vendor and update the master data and payment document withholding information in QAS to print the paper form from QAS.
I read a few of the forums and the idea I get is, if the vendor is to be 1099 reported, it should be a standard vendor.
    Questions:
    1) Any standard functionality available within classic setup for 1099 MISC reporting of OTV ?
    2) Does using extended functionality make OTV reporting any better
    3) Any best practices that you are following which you think is better than ours ?

  • Regarding Withholding Tax data updation

I have posted a AB document using FB1K.Whenever i go to FB1K transaction & put the vendor and click on Process open items,i am getting 1 pop-up saying "Withholding tax ignored". Then i will post the open items. This will create a AB document type.
Then if i go to FB03 for this document, there will be zero amount updated for both the line items. This is happening eventhough the vendor is liable for Withholding tax.
But if i post any other document like KR,RE,KG,its properly updating the withholding tax.
Can someone help me how AB document is getting updated with zero amount.
    Thanks,
    Aparna.

  • Argentina Withholding Tax - RFWT0010

I am new to Argentina withholding taxes and trying to develop a process to update the vendor master and open items.   We currently perform the steps manually and it's very time-consuming and prone to errors.  We receive a file from the govt with the rates per tax number (CUIT) each month.  Is there a standard program to upload the file, perform a comparion of the rates on the master record and update the tax code on the master record?
I have not been successful in getting RFWT0010 to change the withholding tax code on the open line items when I change the withholding tax code on the vendor.  We have extended withholding.  Tax Type I1 is used for withholding tax and then we have different tax codes representing different rates.  A vendor might be I1 with tax code IM that has rate of 3% but we need it changed to I1 with IN tax code so it's 2%.  I ran RFWT0010 but it doesn't change the tax code from IM to IN on the open items.  I can get the program to delete or add a withholding tax type but it won't change a withholding tax code on an existing type.  Any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong or steps I'm missing?
    Thank you,
    Kathy

    Hi
We had the same problem and we tryed an standard  program RFWT0020 wich can change WT types and indicators (sorry I don't know if this is the propper name in english) from invoices that have been allready paid or just posted. But it takes the WT information from vendor master data so you have to inform this data manually using FK02 in witholding data. Be awared that this program do not change accounts just types and indicators so if you execute it you're accounting data should be wrong. And remember you have to execute twice one for invoice document and once for payment document.
    Hope this can be usefull.

  • Items have not been activated due to inconsistent withholding tax info

    Hi, expert
I want to make  vendor payment  through F-53 after fill the detail when i click on open item process & double click on amount it gives an error 1 items have not been activated due to inconsistent withholding tax info
    regards
    gk

    Dear Kumar
The relevant withholding tax types change, for example, as a result of legal changes. A withholding tax type is relevant if the following conditions apply:
    1. The withholding tax type is entered in the SAP master record of the business partner and indicated as subject to withholding    tax (vendor).
    2. The company code is indicated as authorized to deduct tax for vendors or as subject to withholding tax for customers for this withholding tax type (withholding tax data for company code: View V_T001WT)
    3. The posting date is in the validity period for the deduction authorization (withholding tax data for company code View V_T001WT).

  • Withholding tax error

    Hi,
Advance entry posted to the vendor with Rs.100000/- and TDS @ 2% on it in T.code f-48. Invoice entry posted to the same vendor for Rs.1000000/- and TDS @ 2% on it through T.code f-43.  For both the entries, FBL1N report shows Rs.100000 as advance and Rs.980000 as invoice amount. My issue is while creating Remittance challan through T.code J1INCHLN it is showing an error stating that
No unpaid tax lines exist for the given selection criteria.
    Message no. 8I702
    Diagnosis
The corresponding withholding tax line  &1& is not present in WITH_ITEM table.
    System Response
For withholding tax recovered from the vendor, tax line is present in table BSIS, but the corresponding entry is missing in table WITH_ITEM , which is necessary for challan updation. Check the entries.
    Procedure
check entries in table WITH_ITEM for the open tax items chosen for clearing.
What could be the reason for error

    Hi
    1.SPRO -> SAP Customizing Implementation Guide ->
    Cross-Application Components -> General Application Functions ->
Business Place -> Assign Business Places to Plants
2.I think because of missing Business Place/Section code in the document either invoice or payment
3.Run T.code J1INMIS and check  document is updated with Bus Place and section code.
You will have to process them manual
4.Then check the recepient type that you are filling in J1INCHLN and that in the vendor master. You can identify the vendor master from FBL3N itself and  issue comes when J1INCHLN find no data in the specified receipient type

  • Withholding Tax Change over from Classic to Extended

Client is using Classic Withholding Tax. They are able to see the tax codes while posting the vendor invoices through F-43 & FB60. But they are not able to see the tax codes on the invoices processed through MIRO. They want the tax codes to be displayed on the invoices processed through MIRO. Can anybody please help me in finding the solution for this issue??

    Hi Nagesh Ram ,
MIRO transaction only supports the Extended withholding tax. If you still want to deduct the tax with classic withholding tax in miro. You block the BAPI of Extended withholding tax and activate the amount split in the T.code: OBY6 .
You also contact your Developer to do this.
    Thanks
