Wizard Style

Hi,
I am using JHeadstart v10.1.3. I am experimenting with setting the 'Overall Layout Style' property to 'Wizard Style'. I cannot get this to generate Back/Next buttons. It seems to generate the same screens as if I had selected 'Menu Style'.
Are there some other related properties that I must set?
Thanks,
Gavin

Hi Gavin,
According to JHeadstart release note:
The following functionality is not yet implemented in this 10.1.3 Preview Release.

  • Model update validation in between wizard-style pages before commit

    Dear All,
    We have a number of wizard-style pages (generated by JHeadstart). We navigate between pages using a <af:singlestepbuttonbar> control. We'd like to be able to validate model updates when navigating (next) from one
    page to the next, rather than having to wait till the Commit action on the last page.
    The model validations should only be performed for model updates that are relevant for the current page being navigated from.
    Any suggestions on how we can achieve this would highly be appreciated.
    Kind regards,
    Ibrahim

  • Problem with wizard Style layout.

    Hi Dear Jheadstart team,
    I am using jdeveloper 10.1.3.1 and jhs 10.1.3.0.95,
    I have developed a data entry page using wizard style in separate pages witch have 5 pages, I have followed all steps which is shown in demo screenshot #4, surprisingly enough, the generated page shows 10 steps instead of 5 in witch the name of pages are duplicated(p1,p1,p2,p2,p3,p3 , …). When I run the application, it’s done in 5 steps with step numbers 2, 4, 6,8,10.
    What I have done wrong? Is there any setting to avoid this situation?
    Thank you in advance.
    Alireza.

    Alireza,
    There is an issue with the 10.1.3.0 evaluation version which causes pages to appear twice in the process train bar. This happens when the page has an LOV, "depends on item", or file upload items.
    The work around is to remove the duplicate entires in the generated WizardProcessModel bean definition after generation, or to create a custom template for this bean def.
    This has been fixed in the 10.1.3.1 production version.

  • Wizard Style layout and flex items

    Dear JHeadstart team,
    We have several pages where the "Wizard Style Layout" is checked and where a flex item region is defined.
    However, the generator generates the flex item region correctly, but the page definition misses the flexitems methodAction and invokeAction.
    Standard pages work correctly with the flex item regions.
    Current fix:
    1. Switch off "Clear page definition before generation"
    2. Manually add entries in the page definition.
    Am I correct?
    Remco Moolenaar
    Connexys

    Hi Remco,
    We also use wizard-style layout with flex item regions successfully. In our JHeadstart application definition, we have defined one Item Region in the Regions region container for each page. Within each Item Region,
    we have included one item with display type = flexRegion.
    For each Item Region, one page is generated and all methodAction and invokeAction tags are included in the page definition file.
    Could you please provide more details on your application definition structure?
    Regards,
    Ibrahim

  • Generation of detail buttons with wizard style

    Hi,
    A master (table style layout)-detail normally creates parent-to-child buttons. Unfortunately, these buttons are also generated on our wizard page that is based on a master with two details.
    So we changed the pageComponent/formGroup.vm template and added :
    an extra if-statement : #if (!($group.wizardStyle)) within the <af:tableSelectOne to prevent the generation of the buttons but keep the selection.
    Suggestion for the next release ;-).
    Ciao
    Aino

    AIno,
    Makes sense, I guess we didn't really anticipate a table layout in a wizard style layout.

  • Layout Style "tree-form" with Wizard Style Layout checked

    Dear all,
    I am using layout style "tree-form" with Wizard Style Layout check box checked. intention is to display the hierarchy in tree and insertion with the help of Wizard for the last block. But with above settings, generated form is displaying as blank.
    Example of required behavior: REGIONS should be displayed in Tree while the new Employees entry should be with the help of Wizard Style Layout.
    Thanks in advance for help.
    Muhammad Shafique

    Muhammed,
    This combination is not supported. But you can acvhieve what you want by creating a separate group to insert a new employee. This additional group should have form layout, wizard checkbox checked, and "Add Menu Entry" option unchecked.
    Then you can customize the New button in the existing tree-form employee group to navigate to the new employee wizard group.

  • Glossary Hotspot Wizard Changes Font Styles

    Hello Again,
    I am still looking for advice on this problem if anyone has
    any to offer. If not, I'll let this one die. Thanks!
    TW
    Hello,
    I am working in RoboHelp 7 for HTML. When I use the Glossary
    Hotspot Wizard, styles (colors, font types) for some fonts in my
    project are changed. These changes occur across all topics in the
    project. Can anyone explain:
    1. Why this is happening, and
    2. How I can fix this?
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi there
    The graphic looks a bit off because the forum software sizes it smaller. In my Firefox browser I am able to click the image to view at full size where it is crystal clear.

  • How to build wizard in Oracle Forms?

    How to build wizard in Oracle Forms? Is it possible only in JDeveloper?
    Regards
    Rajesh Kumar

    What do you mean here - you want to extend the Forms Builder with your own wizard, or you want to build a Forms Application with a Wizard Style interface?
    If it's the First then you can't, if it's the second then check out the 9i demos there is a re-usable wizard component that shows you how to do it.

  • Help me in creating wizard

    hi.
    can anyone guide me , how to create a wizard in SBPT_WB .
    Please show step by step procedure.
    thanks & regards,
    arul.

    Hi Arul,
    the transaction SBPT_WB (Wizard Builder, Wizard Style Guide) helps in ABAP to create a sequence of screens and to control the process, and this is a tool useful for developers.
    I found the following information relevant to SBPT_WB:
    1. the details and the step by step procedure how to creare a wizard is described here:
    http://www.sapdesignguild.org/resources/wizard_html/index.htm (pdf documentation also available)
    2. SDN:
    /people/dennis.vandenbroek/blog/2006/11/29/wizard-framework (in addition to the article 5808 already mentioned above by Pravan)
    3. SAP Notes:

    https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/428557 (it seems the tool was meant for SAP internal usageu2026)

  • Wizard problem

    I am trying to create a wizard based application. I have set up View Objects as nested View Object using View Links in application module, for 3 levels. The wizard style checkbox is checked at the top level
    The 2nd level are divided into 4 regions. Layout style is set a separate pages for regions. The 3rd level are set up a plain detail groups.
    This works ok.
    My problem is when i want to make a 3rd level detail group display as a wizard page between the level 2 regions. I create a new detail group region on level 2 and selected the 3rd level detail group from the drop down list. (to make it available i checked the same page option on the level 3 group).
    However when i run the app the detailed group region is not displayed. This appears to be a bug as the same functionality will work with stacked pages. I require that i can control the sequence in which the wizard pages are displayed. I look forward to your response.

    After creating a test case Steven Davelaar replied:
    "I was able to reproduce your problem using the testcase. We will fix it for the next patch release, expected in the first half of september."
    Unfortunately this problem does not seem to be resolved with the new version. As stated before this is a fundamental issue for our application.
    To recap problem it is where i want to create a region container in a wizard app to hold both an item region and a Detail Group Region.
    see below for the jheadstart generation errors we get:
    [XxHoldingPersonsVOApplicantGeneralDetails.jspx, default/pageComponent/groupRegion.vm] Velocity log [error] RHS of #set statement is null. Context will not be modified. default/pageComponent/groupRegion.vm [line 1, column 1]

  • Tree data wanted to display as wizard layout

    Scenario: (Reqeust : HIGH)
    I am using Tree-Form layout + wizard style(so that data obtained through that Leaf node presents in Wizard style). Regions are creted with 'Separate pages' Property.
    What i get is . Tree with proper data displaying at right side. but the data where i have used wizard + separate pages does not come at right side.
    WANTED:
    I want to have Tree structure on left side. when i click leaf node (Say 1 specific leaf node) i should have wizard to run at right side to add data in DB.
    Thanks in Adv.

    My recommendation would be to first attend one of the ADF JHeadstart Workshops (5 days), see http://blogs.oracle.com/jheadstart/workshop.
    After that, it depends on the type of on-the-job experience you get how fast you become an expert. It helps enormously if you have an expert on-site, even if only for one day a week. Then you have someone to ask for help when you encounter something difficult like this. You could ask your local Oracle Consulting representative if they can help.
    You must realize, that to become an expert you don't need to know all chapters of the developer's guides. Some chapters are only for advanced functionality that you typically only lookup when you need it.
    It also depends of course on your background. It helps if you are already familiar with 4GL tools like Oracle Forms, and Case tools like Oracle Designer. Of course it also helps if you are familiar with Java, J2EE, XML, Velocity, MVC type frameworks, etc.
    So it is hard to say when you will be an expert!

  • Wizard does not enter in insert mode

    Hello,
    We are using JHeadstart 10.1.3.1.26.
    We are creating a wizard process for creating a record in several steps.
    For some reason we are not able to enter the page in 'Insert' mode.
    When the page is started the page is shown in 'View' mode. When we click the tab page for the View then the page changes into 'Insert' mode.
    View/Application Definition
    - On the view object we've set 'No Rows' to be retrieved from the database on the Tuning panel of the View Object Editor
    - In the application page definition we've the following settings
    * Wizard Style Layout      Checked
    * Layout STyle          form
    * Quick Search           None
    * Advanced Search           None
    * Auto Query          Unchecked
    * Single-Row Insert allowed     Checked
    * Single-Row Update allowed     Unchecked
    Created artifacts
    The Page Definition Page contains a Controller Class
    <pageDefinition xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adfm/uimodel"
    version="10.1.3.40.66" id="EpvOpdrachtenPageDef"
    Package="nl.belastingdienst.epv.lokaal.view.pagedefs"
    EnableTokenValidation="false"
    ControllerClass="#{EpvOpdrachtenPageLifecycle}">
    <parameters/>
    In the structure pane a Warning is shown "Class #{EpvOpdrachtenPageLifecycle} not found"
    Workaround
    A workaround is adding in the Page Definition Page the following invokeAction.
    I am not a fan of post processing actions, because then our application is not 100% generatable anymore.
    <executables>
    <invokeAction Binds="CreateEpvOpdrachten" id="creOpdrachten"/>
    How can we set the wizard process train directly from JHeadstart in insert mode?
    Has this got something to do with the page definition page, and with the fact that the ControllerClass cannot be found?
    Regards Leon Smiers

    Hi Sandra,
    We are facing the same problem, we fixed it by adding the value !adfFacesContext.postback in the bean of the first page.
    But the problem that the back button in this case clear inserted data, secondly there is no any generated beans for other pages of the wizard, so there is no way to write the above value.
    by the way we are trying the steps in the JHeadstart Developer's Guide many times.
    Could you please help us to fix this issue?
    Thanks
    Ahmed Mohsen

  • Wizard back stepping

    Hi,
    I have a wizard style form that I am having a small issue with. As the user steps through the process there is a point that a file can be uploaded and then continue on. I am wanting to set a size limit on the file which I think I have working fine. But what I want the form to do is backup to the page with the file selection page if the file exceeds my limit and display a message stating the error so that they can correct the issue.
    I have this:
    Step 1: fill in data - submit
    Step 2: set session vars from step 1 - fill in more data - submit
    Step 3: set session vars from step 2 - fill in more data - submit
    Step 4: set session vars from step 3 - fill in more data - upload file - submit
    Step 5: set session vars from step 4 - fill in more data - submit
    Step 6: set session vars from step 5 - fill in more data - submit and write all session var data to DB
    I need step 5 to check file size and if exceeds the set limit to backup to Step 4 with a message and still hold all data that was entered.
    Here is my current code.
    Step 4: code
    <other input field>
    <other input field>
    <other input field>
    <other input field>
    <other input field>
    Only image files will be accepted.<br>
    Filesize must not exceed 1 megabyte.<br>
      <cfinput type="file" name="imagefile" >
    Step 5 code(upload portion of code):
    <cfif isDefined("Session.imagefile") and #Session.imagefile# neq "" >
    <cffile action = "upload" fileField = "imagefile" destination="#ExpandPath("upload")#" nameConflict = "MakeUnique" accept="image/jpg, image/jpeg, image/pjpeg, image/gif"  >
    <cfset Session.serverfile = "#cffile.serverfile#">
    <cfif (CFFILE.FileSize GT (1024 * 1024))>
    <cffile action="delete"  file="#ExpandPath("upload")#/#Session.serverfile#">
    need to backup one step here
    </cfif>
    </cfif>
    Back to Step 4:
    All other fields are still holding info previously entered
    Only image files will be accepted.<br>
    Filesize must not exceed 1 megabyte.<br>
    Your file exceeds the filesize limit, please resize
       <cfinput type="file" name="imagefile" >
    TIA

    Thanks for the reply.
    I log on the SQL Server 2005 database.  I click on the Standard Report Wizard.  I select the tables to include in the report > next > I join the tables together > next > I select the fields on the form > next > I select the group fields.  During this time if I need to click on the Back option to add or delete a selected object is when we have a problem.  When clicking on the Back button the work area resizes to a very small window, where it is almost impossible to work in.

    Hi Steven,
    I look for the root of the issue and came to the point that Wizard group should not have any items. All items MUST be moved to region or removed, otherwise this TEMPLATE error will be generated. May be this rule need to be added to JHS developer guide.

  • End User will build the report by himself by choosing the columns from tabl

    We are using Oracle 10g Application server (Forms and Report Services), Forms and Report., our most urgent requirement is End User have to build the required reports by him Like wizards style, (Example Adhoc, MIS reports)., More clear, from the form we want to show all the tables structures, queries, after that end user will choose some columns from the form and specified the condition by himself to run the report after that he will press start button , then automatically report has build for the selected columns from the end user., and this report is parmanent afterwords., he can use any time.
    Like this kind of report building is possiable , anyone has faced same situation.

    Yes it is.
    In BW, this can be achieved by using document management. The option will be available to the user via context menu in the report (goto-->documents - text/pdf/img etc). In your case user can choose to create/change/display a 'text' document, which will be attached to the report.
