WLI disables BEA Server to boot beacause of db-locks

I am running a BEA WLI 8.1.2 and Oracle 9.2.0.4. I know old version, however the application works sort of. Recently I have begun getting lock on some of the WLI-state-tables with the signature JPD_* these locks disables the BEA Server from starting, apperently because WLI is reading the content of these tables during the boot phase.
 
My qustions is: 
Is where anyway I can debug which tables are being read? 
Is where anyway I can disable the associated processes susch that the tables are not being read? 
Can I reconfigure my process to use an alternate table while fixing the lock?

Check if the number of tables in your old DB and new DB are same?
Did you run the same sql script that you used for your old DB?

Please check if there is any file with the name "boot.properties" located under the domain directory . If so,
take a backup of that file and replace the username and password with clear text (it will be in encrypted format) save the file and try to start the Admin server.

Getting hostname/IP of the BEA server

Hello,
I need to know the IP of the BEA server the request is currently working on.
I have a cluster with 2 servers inside, each running in its HW.
The HW has IP and the BEA has different IP.
We need to send a request (using URLConnection) to another servlet in the same application which must be running on the same server.
We have used InetAddress.getLocalHost() is past, but now the HW's IP and BEA's IP are different and this causes problem.
Is there an easy way how to get the IP from Java?
We can put the IP into a property file, but this is not prefferd way, because we'd have different properties file on different servers.

Oops. Missed the important part. It is a custom class which does something like this.
1. Gets the initial context.
2. Looks up for "weblogic.management.home.localhome" and assigns it to an weblogic.management.MBeanHome object.
3. Call getMBeansByType("ServerConfig") on the object mentioned in step 3 and assign the returned value to a Set object.
4. Iterate through the Set created in step 3 and assign it to weblogic.management.WebLogicMBean object.
5. Call getName() on the object in step 4 and check whether it is equal to
System.getProperty("weblogic.Name").
If the check returns true, call
getAttribute("ListenAddress") on the object created in step 4 and convert it to String object.
On similar lines, you can call getAttribute("ListenPort") on the object too.

My mac is PowerMac G5(1.8Ghz) + leopard server 10.5.1.
I have a question.
After typing *java -version*, the following messages are shown.
*Shared archive: sharing disabled for server vm*
*java version "1.5.0_13"*
*Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_13-b05-237)*
*Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.5.0_13-119, mixed mode)*
What is *Shared archive: sharing disabled for server vm* ?
Using my other macs, iMac(Intel 1.8GHz) and PowerBook G4(1.5GHz) + leopard client-10.5.1,
the message is

BEA server connector

Does anyone know when the BEA server connector for Ganymede will be out? I really miss being able to run my bea test server from inside eclipse.

I am running into a new problem now, I used to be able to right click on the server and
select "manage deployments" and via that avenue deploy projects to the server. I no
longer have a manage deployments option, I have a add remove projects option but my
projects dont show in that list. Is there something special I have to do to get my projects
to show up there?I am not familiar with the "manage deployments" action that you are referring to. What product were you using before?
The most likely cause of your projects not showing up in the add/remove projects wizard is that they are somehow in the form that's viewed as not compatible with that version of the server. What type of projects are they? They have to be WTP projects such as Dynamic Web Project or Enterprise Application Project. Plain java projects will not deploy. If you aren't sure, you can check in the project properties. All WTP projects will have a "Project Facets" page in project properties. If you do have WTP projects and have found the Project Facets page, take a look at the facets that are listed. Make sure that the versions of facets are compatible with WLS 9.2 (no Java EE 5 module facet versions or version 6.0 for the java facet). If all facet versions are correct, you should be able to flip to the runtimes tab on the right hand side of the page and select WLS 9.2 as your target runtime. If you do that for all your projects, they should show up in the add/remove projects UI.

You have to disable GDM (`svcadm disable gdm`).
If you're using it for a server setup, the best option is to install from the text-install ISO.

Cisco AP disable PEAP server certificate validation

Hi,
My question if it is possible on Cisco 1600 AP's to disable the server certificate validation on a dot1x peap authentication method (please provide if any the appropiate CLI)
I now the in PEAP for a PEAP user implementation you want to validate the the server as that this is PEAP phase 1.
But we want only user PEAP as machine authentication, which I don't care the validation of the server. hence like in Windows you have a check box, so you can disable the validation of it.

Not really, let me explain the toplogy;
we want to enable 802.1x on the network switches and let the Cisco AP authenticate the AP (PEAP-MSCHAPv2) on the switch via 802.1x. Therefore we specify the following config on the AP:
eap profile PEAP
method peap
dot1x credentials test
username
password xxxxxx
interface GigabitEthernet0
dot1x pae supplicant
dot1x credentials test
dot1x supplicant eap profile PEAP
The question is the a possebility to disable the server certificate validation (as like in Windows) because we want to verify the AP, and yes I know for PEAP-user implementation it is a good practise to validate the server certificate.

Server only boots to one drive of three

We have a 3 drive bay xserve that has bootalbe drive and a mirror of the bootable drive. We can only get the server to boot to the mirror. If we select the other drive to boot to using system preferences or holding the option key to select. It will always boot to mirror drive. It will boot to the other drive if we remove the mirror drive. So we erase the mirror drive and and mirror the drive again, but the same problems comes back. We have three servers like that so far. Any ideas will be helpful

This will isolate any encoding/burning issues you may encounter. Once the disc image is created, double-click the .img and burn the virtual disc that should appear on your desktop, using Toast to burn the DVD. Disk Utility to burn the .img file. Usually, you can select a burning speed in Disk Utility.
There are variations to this process based on which OS X you are using...
Open Disk Utility (in Utilities folder in Applications folder), click on the virtual disc (maybe the .img) in the left-hand window. Click the Burn icon. A new window should drop down and your SuperDrive tray will open after clicking the Burn icon. Insert a recordable DVD. (Verbatim DVD-R preferred by me.) Click the Close button. Wait. Select a burn speed. If you hold your mouse cursor over the pop-up it says: "Select a slower speed to work around burn failures," so select 4x or slower for best results. Then click the Burn button.

My discrete card now total dead, i can only boot into safe mode, normal boot, some time very rare it pass discrete card check, then it boot in, then i used gfxGraphicsCard to force to use only integrated card, then it run fine.
if some time i forgot to force. then run ios simulator then it auto switch to discrete card, then it's black screen and i must reboot.

Scripting disabled by Server

Hi,
I want to run following script to check SAP-GUI sessions.
In rz11 sapgui/user_scripting_per_user is set to "TRUE" - but the script means, that guiConn.DisabledByServer is true!!
Though I cannot connect to an existing SAPGUI-session.
Any idea?

This might come when a port is made "admin up" while is not configured or mapped blade from server perspective.

Lingering Domain After Disabling Lion Server

I had Lion Server setup with my domain, but after many issues I decided to disable lion server. But every time I try to go to the site (with the domain I previously had setup) it acts like it is trying to access the disabled lion server. The only computer it affects is the one that had Lion Server installed on, and does not affect any other computer on the network. The domain has been successfully setup with another server and functions. I followed the article supplied by Apple to disable the server services. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Ok 1st one. The warning restriction message relates to this line in main.cf:
smtpd_helo_restrictions = permit_sasl_authenticated permit_mynetworks check_helo_access hash:/etc/postfix/helo_access reject_non_fqdn_hostname reject_invalid_hostname permit reject_invalid_helo_hostname
The last reject occurs after the single word "permit" and is ignored.
However, that's not the problem.
I'm not exactly sure what's happening, but this might be a clue.
It would appear that either postfix is not being able to create the socket for private/policy or it's somehow created with the wrong permissions. You might need to ramp up the debug level to get a better idea.
You could check if it's being created by "netstat -a | grep private/policy" in terminal.
My guess is that it's not being created because there is no setup statement in your master.cf file, but I don't understand why postfix would be looking for it if it isn't set up. Private/policy I think relates to grey listing. Maybe gives you a hint.

Disable VI server in EXE

Hi All,
Is there a way to permanently disable VI server in EXE? Currently, I have an EXE built using application builder and in the ini I can set the VI server to TRUE and the assign the port number to listen on. This poses a great security threat to my application as anyone using my app can enable VI server and basically hack it using property/invoke nodes - like assign values to controls or retrieve indicator's values.

Recently I found a Toshiba A120 satellite pro in a rubbish bin.
I cant stand the idea of goog tech going to waste so I pick it out and dusted it off hoping that I could get it
working again.
However even though when I got it home and it powered up oh joy, my glee was indeed short lived by
one single word, thats right

I tried reading the sata hard drive on a separate usb to see if I could find out whose it was and contact them.
Hard drive dead.
I tried knocking on all the doors near where I found it to find the owner and try and get the password from them.(fingers crossed someone may be able to help?)
I tried my nearest laptop repair shop he quoted 100 for soldering in a new bios chip which sounded expensive and suspiciously like it wouldnt work.
I'm willing to send it into toshiba if I have to but I would really like to find a way to contact the original owner
and simply ASK THEM what the password is, I would even pay them to find out if I had to.
The only info I have is the serial number which is- s/n- 76041309h or the longer number on the bottom which is- i76041309hssac0007009ENB
If there is any way to get hold of the original owner and ask them it would be a godsend!

 As for source code changes, it depends on your app. We often do this type of
 consulting on clustering with Weblogic, and the common problems that we've
 seen are:
 --> session attributes must be serializable
 --> code that relies on globals (such as static fields or servlet context
 attributes)
 --> web processing that is not idempotent (makes seamless failover
 impossible)
 --> code that assumes the app server is the exposed address (i.e. the user
 types "http://www.myco.com" but that is just the address of the proxy -- the
 app server is hidden maybe inside a firewall on a machine whose name isn't
 visible to the end users)
