Example
Our process is each material (RM01_A) has allocated the particular bin series like from A-01-01 to A-01-10.
other material RM01_B has particular series from B-01-01 to B-01-10.
If it is bin is not have space means system should moving to other series of available of bins
System is should give preference to allocated bin only. If bin is full means stock is move to available bin
pls help me ,iam doing implementation . i need your help

Hi,
Mainitain the search sequence in statergy. SPRO>LE> WM > Strategies> Activate storage type search-->Define search sequnece.
If you have defined 3 storage type 001, 002 and 003 for ZWM where house, then maintain search sequence like this

While using stock palcement strategy "P" "by storage Unit Type" we are dividing bins to section like

is this code need to append to the storage bin co ordinate
like 002-001-A/1 002-001-A/2 002-001-A/3
If so when i create the storage bin co ordinate through Ls01n by defining the Storage bin co ordinate as 002-001-A/1 system throw error "The special character "/" must not be used in the storage bin name".
How to solve this ,pls explain the stock palcment through startegy "P" ,where to mention the bin section in the bin coordinate.Hi Kumar,
I suppose you have maitained capacity check for the storage type 231 .
Based on the SUT's and u r strategy P, the system will allcate the numbers.
usually if there are two SUt's ina a bin where it belongs to the storage type 231 then the bin will have 001-02-A/2
the special characters gets assigned after the placement.

Stock placement strategy via user exit
Hello,
I'm tring to change putaway strategy by using a user exit.
In customizing i enter:
Logistics Execution u2013 Warehouse Management u2013 Strategies u2013 Putaway Strategies u2013 Define strategy for fixed bins.
Table V_T301S.
When i enter one of the movements i can put V next to User exit act.
How can I make the connection between the strategy and the user exit?

In the ST masterdata (config: WM - Masterdata - Define ST) you must activate the User Exit field for putaway and/or removal for the specified ST you want to use with a user exit. See view: V_T3010-USEIN or Table T331-USEIN. When this indicator is set and you go through the TO creation log, you will see that at some stage there will be an entry where is states that you are using an user exit to place/pick stock.

WM - Stock Placement and Stock Removal Strategy

Need yr expertise..
What would be the ideal stock placement strategy if need to store standard pack in one location and partial quantity in another location?
example:
standard pack for material A is 100pcs
if GR 250 pcs, TO need to be created for 200pcs at location A (since it is standard pack) and
50pcs at location B (sicne it is partial)
The same logic aplly for stock removal strategy. If customer order of 200pcs, system need to pick
from location A (since it is standard pack). If customer order 50pcs, system need to pick from
location B. What will be the ideal stock removal strategy?
Please advise
Rgds..Sanjayyu can make use of the small/large stock removal strategy and for the concerned material in WM 2 view you can give the control quantity like if the requirment is of >200 pc then storage type 0002 should be used to pick the goods otherwise if required quantity is less then system should search for storage type 0001

The scenario is -On receipt of stock need to first fill the Fixed bin in the Fixed storage type and if the capacity reached max in the fixed bin then the reserve bins in the reserve storage types are to be filled.Only one fixed bin is maintained for a material.

We maintained
Stoarge Type Stock palcment Strategy:Addition to exsisting Stock
SUT Active,SU Active ,Addition to exsisting stock Active
In Mixed stoarge :Mixed Storage Not Allowed.
(Mixed stoarage Type Indicator "A" is not allowed when we are using stock palcement startegy as 'Addition to exsisting stock").
Material we are not tracking by batch number ,but SLED will be maintained at the time of receipt.
When we receive New stock ,system is adding to the BIN which already has the same Material ,System is adding the new stock to the exsisting SU Number(Not creating the New SU Number) and SLED information even though different for the Incoming New stock ,system over writes with the exsisting stock SLED.
Pls help ,how to solve this

If I undertstand it correctly,
System should search for the available Bin Capacity, and if there is space available the next incoming stock also need to be placed in the same Bin (system should suggest the Bin).
Now, let us consider the Physical process involved. Let us say, System suggested Bin A1001 and stock of Material A 500 Qty has been placed in some part of the Bin. Now, next time for the same material while incoming, system let us assume for time being suggested A1001 Bin due to available capacity. The operator should place the stock in the same bin, right. Assume that you have two quants in the Bin so that in system Shelf life date (GR Date) is different for these two different receipts. However, while Issuing even if system suggested Bin based on Shelf Life date, how the Operator will physically identify between the above two stocks. Hence, there should be physically some more identification parameters.
Under this case, either you can have Batch Management, (two have multiple quants) or Storage Unit Management. In this way, system will suggest the Identifier based on GR Date or Shelf life Exp date, also physically some labels placed to identify the different stocks in the same Bin.
I hope, it clarifies your doubt.
Last but not the least, user Exit will not solve your purpose.. instead operation process change involved along with Batch Identifier or Storage Unit Identifier.

Placement Strategy : Open Storage
Dear All,
Appreciate it if you could shed light / clear doubts on the matter below:
1. For placement strategy Open Storage, is it a must to use it with storage section ?
The design is not firm yet -- in the event, i have a storage type 100, and plan to activate with this placement strategy, is it a must to use / have storage section ?
2. Take for example, under storage type 100, i only have 3 bins, with placement strategy Open Storage.
How will system propose the bins for storage ?
The Next Empty bin strategy, will always proposed the next available empty bin. So, how does Open Storage strategy works then?
3. SUT. Don't plan to activate SUT, for the Open Storage strategy.
What will be the implication on the warehouse without ths ?

Kindly read WM basics availble widely over Internet. You could also go through help.sap.com
Well how SAP determines BIN :
1) You have maintained storage types / storage section & Bins are available
2) You have created storage type Indicators & data maintained in Material Master WM1 / WM2
3) You have defined the serach sequent against Indicator (Storage type & Storage section)
When TO is getting created system serach for the storage types mapped against the Indicator maintained in material master
If storage section is activated system tries to serach for available BIN in Storage type & Storage section.
If BIN not found system jumps to next storage type + storage section combination . This is how it works.
Now in your case yu have 3 Bins ..001 , 002 , 003
For exmple you have material 1100 , 2200 , 3300
Storage type 100 (Open storage) ,200 , 300 etc & storage sections in 100 are 001 , 002 , 003
Storage type Indictor XXX & storage section Indicator Y01 , Y02 , Y03 is created.
You need to do the way described below.
For material 1100 maintain XXX & Y01 , 2200 : XXX & Y02 , 3300 : XXX & Y03
In Customisation storage serach sequence : XXX = 100 , 200 ,300 etc.
storage section search Y01 = 001 , Y02 = 002 , Y03 =003
Storage section check is activated for storage type 100
Whenever Material 1100 will come system will always propose BIN 001 This is irrelevant of number of postings , you can create as many postings , if you try to take the material in 002 Bin , system will not allow unless you make chnages either in Material Master or in customisation.
Say if Material 4400 can go in any section you can maintain Blank entry at storage section in Materil master & define one more sequnce in customisation ...."Blank "= Y01 , Y02 , Y03 . With such combination always BIN 001 will be proposed but you can overrite those values & take the material in any BIN with appropriate combination.
I hope this clarifies your all doubt !

For MTS, maintaining the Planning Starategy 10 in Mtrial MAster is the Only thing we need to do.
System by default will do the rest of the things for you.
In MD61, system will propose Requirements Type LSF.
Sales Order will be for Inforamtion Purpose.
PIR will be reduced after PGI to the SO.
If you require any specific thing pl. inform.

User Defined Stock Removal Strategy
Hi,
We want to define a user defined stock removal strategy while creating TO for delivery using transaction LT03. This can be done in user exit MWMTO004. Although we modify the output table T_QMAT in this exit as per requirement , the TO is not split as per the table.
SAP proposes all the batch bins in table T_QMAT , but if all the delivery quantity is found in first bin itself , the TO is created with that bin only , no Split. We wish to split the TO as per table T_QMAT.
How to split the TO as per proposal from the exit ?
Please provide some ideas.

While using Stock palcement strategy as "P"(By storage unit Type"),Capacity Check indicator is maintained as "3" in the storage type means the capacity check based on the maximun qty entered in the Material Master.
In the Material Master Maximum Capacity is maintained as "140 EA" and there two sections in the BIN ,while reciving 280 EA system palces the Two Industrial Pallets in the same bin ,one industrial pallet in each Section.
Capacity check is maintained for the Bin But system is executing capacity check for the Bin section .How to solve this

Stock placement into multiple bins
hi,
i configured my put away and stock removal strategy as manual , so end user entering bins in TO, where i need to put stock into different bins like, if i receive 50 items means it should be placed into two bins 25 -25. if i try to give in the TO table it wont allowed me.(throwing error:Total of scheduled quantities exceeds quantity to be placed into storage)but i give that exact quantity only. any configuration i have to give.

Could you please check the configuration for the storage type definition. In storage type definition please check the configuration for addition to stock if it is blank it doesn't allow stock to be put in the bin in that storage type.
