Work Schedules and Holiday types
Hi there,
I have a scenario for Work Schedule creation.
Work week: Mon-Sat
Off days: Sun
Exception: The second saturday of every month needs to be a holiday.
I know there's a manual way of achieving this in the 'generate work schedule' step.
However, there seems to be a more elegant and effective solution via Holiday types (fixed day from date?).
Solutions solicited.

We can acheieve your requirement through period work schedule. create the pws like on
10 Pws 001 work work work work work work off
10 PWs 002 work work work work work off work
10 PWS 003 work work work work work work off
10 PWs 004 work work work work work work off.
Otherwise we need to write the rule for second saturday off, better to solve through configuration, everybody can understand easily.

Go To SPRO>Logistics General->Configuring the Material Master.
Here you will find a step-by-step guide with an example in the documentation as to how to add field on a screen on the Material Master.

I was wondering if anyone out there has modified the CATS screen to allow the changing of Work Schedules ?
What I am getting at is that an employees line manager can, via the CATS screen, change the employees Work schedule and then when running TCode CAT6 the change will update the employees IT0007 record ?
I worked on a project years ago at a client in Oxford, UK where this was done so I know it can be done .
Any help will be appreciated.

Use additinal fields for assigning the WS rule which can be eddited. All the WS rules configured should come in the list.
Then select what is required and then ask the developer to trigger the program when the save button is hit and this will update IT0007 with New WS rule.
Please see the impact on the time management when the WS rule gets updated.

How does a work schedule that I have generated relate to IT1011 Work Schedule in OM?
For e.g. if I were to change the working hours of IT1011 of a Position, does it affect any work schdule I have created for an employee assigned to the position?

It has no impact on IT 0007. It is mainly for reconciliation purposes and mainly used in Shift planning, Personnel Cost Planning.

Last step will be
--->generate work schedules manually ---> Create work schedule -->click create all --->you will start seeing a calender for every month you specified.
Eg: you specify that you need work schedule from march 2008 to Dec 2008, first march work schedule is generated.
Save it. Hit enter to generate April calender and so on. Keep saving till the end. -
Work schedule shows a holiday but it is not defined

I have run PT03 to check on my work schedule and it shows a date that is a holiday. I have checked the public holiday calendar and no holiday defined on that day. Checking again on the generated work schedule and clicking on the date where it says as holiday (though not defined in holiday calendar) it pops a message "Calendar not loaded on 21.05.2010". Normally when you double clicked on the date when there is holiday it is displayed beside holiday class field the description of the holiday but this one it does not show any description beside that field.

One more thing, if you have removed a holiday from the holiday calendar after generation of work schedules, you need to generate the calendar again after removing that holiday, and also generate the work schedule using that calender and save the work schedule, then only you will see the removed holiday effect in the work schedule.

Looking for an app that is easy to create a work schedule on PC and download to phone.
We have a small group of managers who have blackberry's and were wondering if there is an app that would allow us to easily download our individual schedules to our phones. We currently use excel to create the work schedule and even though we can view it through email it would be nice be able to plug it in with our calendars. Any help would be Great!
Are you all using BES or BIS? If you're not on a BES then you can use a program called Google Sync. If you all have a gmail account you can use this program to wirelessly sync between your BlackBerry calendar and Gmail calendar. Read more about it here

Currently at our company, we have a 24 hour travel line. We have been able to use Time Period/Schedule and Partitions in CUCM to forward to different offices at different hours throughout the day. Below is what it is currently set up as.

Main is under a partition called Open PT. The same DID is under two other partitions (Office 2 and Office 3) where it forwards the call to an international number.
Their group has now requested that on certain holidays (thanksgiving, labor day, etc), all numbers be forwarded to Office 2 and another set of holidays (memorial day, presidents day, etc) forward to Office 3. I've looked at Unity holiday schedules and read over some options and it seems like I would have to get rid of the time period/schedules that I have set up in CUCM and set up a call handler with schedules and holiday schedules. How complex will this be? Can this even be done with the way they want it?this is my scheduld doc

I am trying to configure a DWS and PWS for a given plant. I am aware from a different network thread that this is a 11 step process. I have created the following:
PSG= 03
DWS = 1
Breaks were defined
Created DWS of 1stI, 2ndI, and WNDI (ist shift, 2nd shift, and weekend shift)
Verified day types are correct

How do I define the rules to determine variant for monthly work schedule rule generation??
I am aware that X stands for that it is relevant to the calendar and that 1 = Monday - 7 = Sunday.
Can someone help define the work schedule rules I need and what each code means??

Dear All,
I have a scanerio where the client works on the Odd saturdays of every month and have a weekly off on even saturdays. It is possible to have 53 line items in Period work schedules and get the WSR, but is thare any other method we can use(For eample Day Types, or VArients etc) Any imputs are helpful

While creating your Period work schedule..do so for all the weeks of the year (52/53) marking every relavant saturday as OFF or working.
The system wil allow you to create 53 lines for 53 weeks for a PWS. This is actually one of the methods used to incorporate ur requirement.
The other is by using "special days" where in you can have a normal PWS as 6 day working and then under Special days node, you can specify the dates of all the saturdays u want to be as OFF and define a day type for them as "1 - OFF/Paid" to make them as non-workin days.
Use documentation on "Day types" node for more help.

I have checked work schedules and work sc. rules. everything looks fine. Reason being fine, same work schrdule rule, i.e. 5MTWTF is used for other employees, whose payroll area, personnel area, personnel subarea, employee group and employee subgroups are same.
Why it is throwing error for one employee 753402.
I am providing you more information. In table V_T569r, if u select recalculation category as time evaluation, it is mentioned as 01.01.2003. Initially, one action called "Conversion take on" has been maintained as on 01.03.2002, where employee had payroll area -99 (payroll irrelevant) and personnel subarea - DAYY.
Then on 17.03.2008, another action ran "Conversion initial reassignment" where payroll area changed to "MT - monthly", subarea changed to DAYF. At that time PDC recalculation date in infotype 0003 was 01.03.2002 which was before recalculation date, i.e. 01.01.2003.
Time evaluation was throwing 2 error messages. one was solved by changing PDC recaluation date to 17.03.2008. But other error related to work sc rule 1 VM 01 5MTWTF still occurs.
Can some body now provide some useful information?

Retrieval of dates from Personnel Work Schedule Records.
Hi friends,
I need to develop a user exit in which retrieves dates for a current calendar year.
For Eg: For Calendar year 2008 There are 2 workschedules .
1) From 06/01/08 to 12/31/08 (Current record)
2) From 01/01/08 to 05/31/08 (Immediate previous record)
I have used the Function Module 'HR_PERSONAL_WORK_SCHEDULE' to retrieve PWS and then sorted it in reverse chronological order.
How could i retrieve the dates for the 'current' and the 'Immediate previous' records?
How would i need to CODE the user exit in order to INDEX the sorted work schedule and retrieve the Start and End dates for the Current and Immediate previous records?
As i haven't worked on ABAP,it would be very helpful if anyone could kindly provide me with a code or logic for this .

It is giving the application Log errors In source system
1) no entry in HR table T569R for 105 and 106.
2) no personnel work schedule for personnel number of 145404,342983 and 366054.
These are showing in application log r/3 source system side.
what selection criteria is avilable in rsa3 extactly that is reflect to info package.
i need to restrict only employee number wise ip or any other selection criteria i need follow.
Please tell me how to load how avoid the application logs.

I am triyng to define work schedules and I have found the following problem.
I would like to define my schedules at month level. I mean, I have different schedules for different months. For instance, I've got the same work schedule from January till May, but the schedule changes in summer, this means, from June to August.
Could anyone explain me how can I define this in SAP?

Doubt Regarding Creating Work Schedules
Hello People,
I have recently started taking SAP HR training and currently in Time mgt module...I am stuck up in the creation of work schedules.
I have created a scenario /requirement where i have got 3 shifts in a day and i want my production people to work 24/7 in the factory as i dont want the manufacturing machine to be idle.I have created 3 shifts namely
Shift 1- 7 am - 3 pm
Shift 2- 3 pm - 11 pm
Shift 3- 11 pm - 7 am next day
I dont want the machine to be idle on any day ,so i want people to keep on continously working on the machine.Each shift has got 2 breaks.There are 3 batches of people(say 30) who are in the prod dept.
Batch 1 will work from Mon - Sat(sun day off)
Batch 2 will work from Tue - Sun (Mon day off)
Batch 3 will work from Wed - Mon(Tue day off)
Remember all the 3 batches will have one day off.i have not gone more further in time mgt(so wont be aware of shift planning ,dynamic work schedules) so will it be possible to create thework schedules for the above requirement.
Please advise me how to create DWS,Period Work Schedules and how many should i create.If anybody can clear the basic concept of creating /how to create the work schedules .

3 DWS needed as follows:
Shift 1: 7 am - 3 pm
Shift 2: 3 pm - 11 pm
Shift 3: 11 pm - 7 am next day
Also create a DWS for the OFF day.
Then apply these DWS' in PWS as:
001- Shift A Shift A ShiftA Shift A Shift A Shift A OFF
002- OFF Shift B Shift B ShiftB Shift B Shift B Shift B
003- Shift C OFF ShiftC Shift C Shift C Shift C Shift C
While creating Work schedule Rules, we need to assign the 'Start point in PWS' field as 001 keeping 'Ref. date' field as any day which comes as Monday
Use this Period work schedule in creating your Work schedule rule and generate the WSRs.
