Worklist and screenflows

Hi all,
I want to design a step-by-step interactive process where the user will enter input at each step of the process. For example, when the user sees a work item in his list, he will acquire this item and perform some action on the item. When the user performs the action, the process will do some automatic actions and then will assign another task to the user. However, in the meanwhile, I don't want the worklist application to return back to the task list but instead I want it to wait until the process assigns the next task and directly display the next task.
In short, I want the feature called "screenflow" in traditional BPMS systems.
Is there any way to implement this, without rewriting the worklist application?
Thanks in advance..

I'm finishing a project where I chose to modify the payload-body.jsp file with a combination of JavaScript and if-else statements (in the JSP) to reveal or hide certain pieces of the total form.
On the backend in the bpel process, conditions and additional functions are performed inside the switch statement for the appropriate task outcome.
Next time, I'm considering the possibility of splitting up this functionality by designing one total XSD for my payload, then making copies and scaling back the elements for every prior stage. I would then create one human task flow per stage, copying the payloads from one to the next in the process.

  • Worklist and Inbox functionality in CRM 5.0

    Hello,
We would like to know the difference between the Worklist and Inbox functionality in SAP CRM.
Is there any change in functionalities of the two, in 4.0 and 5.0. What the different settings for these two functionalities in any system. How do we identify whether a system has implemented worklist or Inbox.
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards,

    Hi Faiz,
The best way to learn about the new functionalities is to refer to the release notes of CRM 5.0 which explaines all the new features of CRM 5.0

  • Portal Translation Worklist and XML

We have been using XML files to upload our Portal Content (iViews, Pages, Worksets, Roles, etc...) and have been very successful with this process.  We have run into an issue trying to use an XML file to create a Portal Translation Worklist, because the example given in the document below is very limited).
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/207a2141-c870-2910-e080-90c920b24f47
Has anyone been able to accomplish creating a Portal Translation Worklist using the XML Import method?
    Thanks,
    Ashley

    Hi Pater,
Did you translate your content also, please try doing that.
    Follow below procedure,
1.Go to 'Translation worklist Coordination' ->Portal Content and right click your folder and Select New->Translation Worklist
2.This will create the Translation Worklist to which you can add your PCD objects for translation.
    3. Go to your folder containing your iView, right click and 'Add Object to Translation Worklist'
4.After you have added all the object you want to translate, click 'Generate Translation Data' button at the top on the Translation Worklist screen.
5.Click the 'Release for Translation' button in the scrren that appears.
6.click Close in the screen that appears.
    7. Go to 'Worklist Translation' link.
8.Search for your worklist you just created using the search box.
9.Select the worklist from the result list.
10.At the bottom of the screen select the Source Language and Target languages from the dropdowns
    11.clieck 'Load for Translation'
12.Choose whiever texts you want to translate and enter the 'Translated Text' in the box for the target text.
13.After you are done with all the translations, click close.
    14.Save All and Close
15.You'l go back to the previous screen again. There select your translation worklist and click 'Mark as Translated'
16.Go back to the 'Translation Worklist Coordination' link and open your translation worklist from your folder.
    17.Click 'Publish Translation' button.

  • Auto claim a Task in the Worklist and limit the amount of assings per user

    Hi, I have two questions:
    1) Is there a way to implement "auto claim" in the worklist? I need to assign the task to the logged user as soon as the task is opened by the user.
    2) Is there a way to limit the amount of tasks that the user claims? I need to avoid the situation of a user claiming more than one task. In other words, I need that "If a user claims a task, he MUST release or action it before claiming another task"
    Thanks in advance,

    I'm working with 11g

Ok, I understand your use case for question 1. I actually have this same problem I have been trying to solve for a couple of weeks and haven't found a solution. My use case is slightly different. I have to assign to a group, but in some cases, I know which user in the group the task should be assigned to. However, the requirement is that I assign to the group. So I am trying to figure out how to use the routeTask method of the task service to route the task to the user after the task has already been created and assigned to the group. Not sure yet if that works. I have an SR open with Oracle Support. In your case, it sounds like you want the first member of the assigneeGroup who looks at the task to become the acquiredBy user. I would assume you would need to use routeTask in the Workflow API (in my case, I am using routeTask from BPEL).
On the second question, I doubt that you will find any out-of-box mechanism to do this. There are the three workload balancing rules built into workflow API and available in the worklist application - round robin, least busy, and most productive. But none of those will fit your requirement. However, supposedly you should be able to create your own algorithm. I don't know how to do this, but there should be some place in the documentation that tells you how to do it.

  • Worklist and WLS groups

A Worklist task is assigned to our 'Staff' group. The Staff group is defined in our LDAP repository and it appears in the WLS console under 'MYREALM' realm.
Here's our basic test case: someone in this group, 'Staff', wants to view this task. They log into our front-end we developed and do a lookup by taskID. WLI complains about the group. Here's the error message from the WLS console...
    <Sep 23, 2004 9:57:31 AM CDT> <Error> <WLI-Worklist> <BEA-493030> <The parameter Staff is an Invalid WLS User or Group .>
<Sep 23, 2004 9:57:31 AM CDT> <Error> <WLI-Worklist> <BEA-493066> <You must be in the worklist admin role or task owner or the task claimant or in the assignee
    list to perform this operation.>
    1. I thought that any member of the Staff group can
access this task? Is this true?
    2. Is there a way that 'anonymous' users are able to
    access this task?
    Greg

    Hi,
The term "Enterprise Roles" match to WLS groups. Enterprise is a more genric synonym for user groups as on different servers these may have different names otherwise. Note that getUserRoles() shows the enterprise roles and the application roles a user is member of

  • Translation Worklist and Support Package application

Can anyone explain me what'll happen with a published Translation Worklist when I apply a SP? Will it lose the translated texts?
Do the worklist keep the translated texts or they are loaded from the objects every time? If the second is the right, they'll be lost when I rewrite the objects, correct?
       Thanks for any help.

    Hi Denis,
    > Where the translated texts are stored? They are stored only until we publish the
    > translation and then if we re-activate the worklist they are reloaded from the

That's exactly what I would think for different reasons, but it's not that hard just to test it, isn't it?!

  • BPEL worklist and matrix organization

We are using 11g oracle bpel worklist. We are using the active directory(AD) provider for our users. In our AD each user has a manager.
    Here is the problem:
    - in most of our bpel human tasks we need to use a manager hiearchy that is different from the one in AD. We have not been able to find any way of doing this in BPEL (worklist).
-The BPEL worklist seems to only support one security provider. We are therefore not able to have different manager hiearchy for different human tasks.
    - Is it at all possible to solve this problem with the current BPEL worklist.

    Hi Pucha,
In the file system-jazn-data.xml, I can find the new realm added by me.
    I reset the new realm to orabpel / hw_services / ruleauthor / ccore/ .......
Then, I restart the server, create new AS and IS connection.
However, I still cannot find the new realm name in the dropdown list of Human task in Jdeveloper.
How to find the new realm in Jdeveloper? Did I miss something?
I also create a new instance, new realm, new roles, new users, new AS connection, and IS connection. But I still cannot find the new realm in the dropdown list in the human task of Jdeveloper.
    Thanks.

  • CRM4.0  ICWC My worklist and Interaction Records Indication speed problem

    Hi there
I have two serious problems of ICWC.
<b>1.ICWC My worklist's transaction speed is very slow.
2.ICWC interaction Record's Screen transition speed is
       very slow.
*identify function to interaction record function</b>
If you have idea,Would you tell me,how can I make a clear these problems.
    Best regards.

Believe it or not, I forgot something, so I'll continue here.
In trying to improve performance, notice I never increased the priority.
Increasing the priority of a thread doesn't speed up the processor or
slow down time. Priorities don't affect execution speed, just the order
in which tasks are placed on the LV queue or the OS execution queue.
High priority subVIs get to cut in line and run sooner than lower
priority VIs. If these high priority subVIs aren't well behaved they
typically starve out the lower priority ones, and similarly, they starve
the threads in other applications, even in the OS itself.
Sometimes the simplest explanation is best, so here is mine -- only use
priorities to choose which task takes priority.

  • Universal Worklist and Hierarchy in Portal

    Hi,
My understanding is that UWL is using the hierarchy to determine who is reporting to who but I would like to understand how it is managed and if it is based on LDAP, R/3 HR, Roles ... Does anyone have any related documentation or experience of how to configure it.  Thanks
    Security Admin.

For default execution of workitems ITS may be required (perhaps possible to use SAP GUI for Java but I havent tried).
However, it is possible to create your own custom task launch definitions, and SAP has provided an broad range of action handlers to support custom solutions.

  • Function Module or BAPI for Sales price calculation and Pricing worklist

    Hi Retail experts,
We frequently change purchase conditions, but not that frequently for cases like perishables, so sales price calculations needs to be done each time. This means pricing worklist generation and release is done often and then sales price recalculation is done each time article wise and for various organization level.
We have 15000 articles for which purcahse conditions changes, it is impossible to generate and release pricing worklist and do sales price calculation for each article
So solution may be to find a FM/BAPI for the following transactions and automate them.
    Do you know FM/BAPI for VKP5/VKBP or VKP6, WVN0, WVN1 transactions.
    Regards
    Bob

    HI Madhu,
             Thanks for the reply,
I am looking for BAPI or FM which will check all pricing condition types( like MRP of the Material(table A304), discounts(A800,A802,A803,A804) for that customer and Tax) and give me the value(KONP-KBETR).
I can only pass Customer, material, quantity etc.. so that BAPI or FM has do all standred checks/ validation and give the
KONP-KBETR for all condition types like MRP, discounts, Tax. we are developing the custom program for sales order creation so we require the all this before saving the sales order.

  • Notification via eMail and/or worklist

    Hi everyone,
We have a requirement that some notifications will need to be send via eMail and worklist and other notification should only be thru worklist only.
    e.g.,
Notification FYI - eMail and Worklist
    Notification Approval - Worklist only
Is there a document or a way to do the such thing?
    Thanks and Regards
    elmer

    Hi,
If they are in separate item types, then I would create a new mailer, specifying the name of the item type as the correlation ID. That way the mailer will only send emails for that one item type. You will need to disable the standard mailer, otherwise that will email everything.
The disadvantage of this approach is that you will need to have multiple mailers if you want to email from different item types - there is no way to include multiple correlations in the mailer configuration (e.g. you can't run a mailer for APINV and POAPPRV item types).
A trigger would still do the job - you could automatically set the mail status for the notification to SENT as soon as the notification is created. If you are going this route, I would write a function that is invoked from the trigger to determine whether the notification should be emailed or not. That way, as more item types are used, you can easily modify the code in the function to determine whether to send the notification or not. I would even have a separate table / value set which can be checked, which contains a list of item types and / or processes which should not be emailed and have the code check that - if you add more conditions, then it's just an extra record in that table / set.

    Hi Venkat,
I'm executing custom VO in PFR on button click. I'm intializing the VO, checking if its null- add to Am and then execute. Its printing values in diagnostics. but on page it shows No results found in table.
as part of debugging, i executed the VO in PR also by hardcoding parameters, it still didnt show records in table after PR and PFR VO executions.
But if i dont hide region in PR, it shows data. On page render it shows PR executed data and on button click it shows PFR executed data. Even when i dont execute VO in PR, it shows PFR executed data but that is only when region is not hidden in PR.

  • Doubt in IS-R: where and how do we check pricing worklist

    Hi SAP gurus,
I just want to know where do we find pricing worklist and what data can we get from pricing worklist.I want the transaction code or path to do it .I am expecting the complete answer from you. Thanks in advance.
    Thanks & Regards
    Tonyrao

Creating the pricing worklist involves carrying out new sales price calculations for the combinations of material/organizational level that are affected by changed purchase conditions. The pricing work list is created as follows:
    1.     A new purchase price determination run is carried out with the changed conditions in line with the purchase price determination sequence in the source document.
    2.     A check is then made to establish whether relevant purchasing data has changed. If the basic purchase price, vendor, and purchase price net/net remain unchanged, no entry is made in the pricing work list.
    3.     If the check reveals that changes have been made to the purchasing data, the sales price is determined. This is generally carried out in line with a mark-up calculation.
    Procedure :
    a. VKP5 : create pricing document.
    b. MM42 : Change vendor purchasing in Article, and Change Sales Price PB00 for Articles.
    c. MEK2 : Changing the vendor purchasing price with direct condition maintenance
In above steps you have changed the vendor purchasing price for an article. This is used as the basis for creating the pricing worklist. You use the pricing worklist to create pricing suggestions for the affected articles, on all levels of the organizational structure for which prices were initially calculated based on the changed condition.
WVN0 : Generating Pricing Worklist (Master Data -> Pricing -> Pricing Worklist ->Generate)
Further step is Price Worklist Release. Processing for the u2018pricing suggestionsu2019 is done in this step. Here, for each calculation you have to decide whether you want to accept the automatically calculated prices, change them or reject the calculation.
WVN1 : process pricing worklist, (Master Data -> Pricing -> Pricing worklist -> Release ->For Article)
You may like to refer SAP Best Practices for SAP Retail pricing which will give you detailed explanation on your topic.

  • Send notifications by email and showup in Worklist as well

I am working on an Approval process where I need to send the Approval notification to an emailID and because the approver is a user of Oracle Apps, show the notification in his Worklist. This gives them flexibility to respond by email OR thru Worklist.
If I assign the Performer of a notification to emailID of the FND USER, its only sending it as email, it doesnt show up in the Worklist. If I re-assign the Performer to the username of the FND USER, its showing up in Worklist and not as an email ( even though I have defined emailID for that FNF USER).
    Thx in advance,
    Suresh

    Hi,
Check that the users preferences (Preferences responsibility, General tab) are set to something that includes email, e.g. HTML Mail with Attachments.
Make sure you setup your FND USER as Employee and email address Employee and FND User, then run Synchronize WF Local Tables.
You should see notification both email and notification.

  • I need to vary up a purchase order and add an attachment at the same time.

I can't see how this is done in iProcurement. I know I can ask the buyer to add the attachment to the approved PO via the buyers workcentre (and only then does the document appear while querying the PO at the header level) but why can't I add a new attachment when I am in iProc when I 'change' my requisition?
The idea is that while the changed requisition is moving through the approval workflow all approvers can view the document which supports the reason for the variance. I loathe asking the chief exec to first go and view an attachment at PO header level first before going back to his worklist and then approving the requisition somewhere else.  It seems a convoluted way for approvers to view any supporting documentation.
    I am using R12.
