Write cluster to XML then save it as Non-readable
I want to save large cluster of config data to file. XML seems fastest and easiest way of doing.
I want to save this XML to disk but I don't want the user to be able to read it. Of course I want to be able to load the saved XML file again later.
What's the best way to save it as non-readable? Do XML format files have to have .xml extension for using LV XML VI's?
Thanks guys.
There are some ideas for protecting a configuration file (INI) on the LAVA forums...
http://lavag.org/topic/10146-protect-ini-file/
You could use some of the techniques suggested on your XML file or use INI
Now is the right time to use %^<%Y-%m-%dT%H:%M:%S%3uZ>T

Error Log entry Unable to write file with XML Saver
Hi all,
I have just encountered the following problem. I am saving a XML file using the XML Saver. Another BLT reads the file, changes something, and saves it again with the same name.
The file is saved, but the NetWeaver SAP Log gives the error
"Unable to write file /usr/sap/<SID>/JC00/j2ee/cluster/server0/apps/sap.com/xappsxmiiear/servlet_jsp/XMII/root/CM/<folder>/file.xml"
Is it a problem with the new storage mechanism in MII 12? Even if I delete the file first and then save it again with the same name, the error is displayed (though the file is saved).
MichaelHi Mike,
no, the Debug only says "Begin Action XML Saver" and "End Action XML Saver".
The action however writes the file, the contents has changed after the BLT has run.
Well, I have just tried the Text Saver with the same file (name and contents). It also gives the error. I now wanted to delete the folder. The folder disappered from the workbench view, and the Netweaver log says "Unable to process service message".
I then clicked "publish" on the parent folder and tried to create the folder again, but although the folder was not displayed, the workbench said "the folder already exists". When I start my BLT, it could write the file into the folder which then reappeared in the workbench.
Hm, maybe our installation has some problems? Feels like missing authorizations...

Setting up a Form Application to write to an XML file on a local computer
First, I'm using Flash CS3, and Actionscript3.
I'm trying to set up a data collection form that will save
the results to a file that can later be imported into a database.
This is going to be in a Kiosk at a tradeshow and it won't have
internet access, so I can't send it to an online PHP or ASP, etc,
script.
The form also has several screens, so i thought I'd try to
use the Form Application (I know I can only have one frame on the
timeline when using this flash template with the data components).
I want to try and write the data to a XML file. All the information
I've found is for importing data from an XML file to a web server
rather than sending data to an XML file on a local computer.
I'm trying to use the XML connector, and an XML file that
resides in the same folder as my Flash file, but so far I've had
very little luck writing to that XML file. Do I need to set up a
dataset to send the form data to that will then send the data to an
XML Connector component that will then send the data to the XML
file. Should I use LoadVars instead, and if I do, will I have to
write to a script, or can it also write to an XML file.
If any one has a better idea to do this, please let me know.
Thanks.Hi,
Flash itself has no filewriting capabilities other then the
SharedObject
stuff.
But why can't you call a php script? You could install
apache, PHP and
MYSQL on the computer running the Flash app and get it all
into the
database in one go.
Otherwise you either need to get going with AIR (Adobe
Integrated
Runtime), or use a wrapper application like Adobe Director
(which has
tons of ways to write to file through it's plethora of
Xtras.) Director
may be 'a bit' hard on your budget if you only use it for
this purpose
though.
The XMLSocket is for connections to some server, local or
remote, not to
a file.

My biggest 'pain' at the moment is that every time I go to change then save a Photoshop CS3 file it says 'cannot save as the file as it has been left open or is in use by another application'
Rule Number One - NEVER go directly uinto the iPhoto library - there are no user servicable parts in it and making any change no matter how small can corrupt your library and cause data or photo loss
Exactly how were you trying to save a copy of your iPhoto library?
Albumdata.xml does not contain your photos - and again NEVER make any changes to the content of the iPhoto library - no dragging - no changes - never go into the library
We need to know exactly what you did
And probalby the easiest solution is to load your backup from before you messed things up
For reference after you get things working
Moving the iPhoto library is safe and simple - quit iPhoto and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity to the external drive - depress the option key and launch iPhoto using the "select library" option to point to the new location on the external drive - fully test it and then trash the old library on the internal drive (test one more time prior to emptying the trash)
And be sure that the External drive is formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) (iPhoto does not work with drives with other formats) and that it is always available prior to launching iPhoto
And backup soon and often - having your iPhoto library on an external drive is not a backup and if you are using Time Machine you need to check and be sure that TM is backing up your external drive

hi all
It would be appreciated if any one let me know how to edit
bitmap which is imported in flash using xml and save the edited
bitmap back to xml in flash.
Is it posible to save the bitmap data in flash?
thanks in advanceYes you can... but like I said before you need to upload the
data from the changes you make to a server.
In terms of the solution... its unlikely that you'll find one
specifically for your needs. You will have to learn whatever you
don't know how already and maybe adapt some existing examples to
your needs.
To change the visual state of a movie clip... you just do all
the regular things that you want to do to it using flash... scale,
rotation, drawing API , textfields etc in actionscript. If you
don't know how to how to do that stuff, then you need to learn that
first. That's basic actionscript.
You can capture the visual state of a movieclip using the
BitmapData class. That includes a loaded jpeg. You can also
manipulate bimatp data using the same class. You should read up on
that if you don't know how to use it or check out the examples
below for uploading info.
For uploading to the server:
Here's an as2 solution that took 15 secs to find using
google:
http://www.quasimondo.com/archives/000645.php
If you're using as3, google search for "jpeg encoder as3" and
look through that info. There are also historical answers in the
forums here related to this type of thing that might help as
well. -
How do i create and write to an xml file?
I know there are methods to create nodes and such but I am not at all familiar with xml. Isn't an easier way just to use the File class to create the file and use the write method to write to the xml file? Thank you.

WebLogic 9.2 MP1 - NoClassDefFoundError: weblogic/xml/domimpl/Saver
Hello,
I'm currently experiencing the following error in our production WebLogic environment. Curiously, the same WAR file deploys and works fine on our QA and STAGE servers. I must admit that my debugging knowledge of WebLogic is limited, but I have checked the obvious things (same version of WebLogic on all servers, same JAR files present on all, etc).
The error occurs when trying to generate a WSDL for a web service. The error is as follows:

Edited by: user3634124 on 17-Oct-2008 04:41 (Fixed typos)Hey Sam,
Are you using the same kinda startup means ?
(NodeManager / Regular Scripts)
If you created your application the same way on all environments, you could try to use the script from QA to production (means you'll have to do it by night :) ) or in the other way : try your production startup script in the QA env.
Else, the good old-fashioned way : compare both config.xml with WinCompare or BeyondCompare or anything that does the job.
Make also sure you don't have any XML Registry declared and that your domain/lib directories look alike.
Hope this helps. -
Hello guys,
I am just wondering if i can write to a text file in xml format:
For example if i want to save the following:
Avisha 00/06/2000
The text file should show:
<record>
<name>Avisha</name>
<DOB00/06/200</DOB>
</record>
I think i probably needs to use some sort of XML schema, i never done it before and i would appriciate your help.

Well, for simple cases, such as your example, just create an appropriate String and write that to your file.
For more complex cases, create a org.w3c.dom.Document (using DocumentBuilder and DocumentBuilderFactory), create the appropriate structure and use a javax.xml.transform.Transformer (created via TransformerFactory) to convert your Document from a DOMSource to StreamResult.I'm not a fan of the DOM solution... It's slow and very memory hungry... Goog for small datasets.
@OP If you can, I recommend using an XMLBinder (like [XML-Beans|http://xmlbeans.apache.org/] jusr for example) to both read and write all your XML.Errr, XMLBeans and the like will still be using DOM under the covers, so the memory issue is still as relevant as before. Happily, this turns out to be "not as much as you probably think" anyway. So the decision is a design one. Do you have schemas for this XML? You don't? Ah well, a binding framework's out of the question anyway. What are you doing with it? ("Processing it" isn't an answer). Where is it coming from? ("my codez" isn't an answer). What format need it be in? ("XML format" isn't an answer)
Building a DOM tree and serializing it isn't necessarily all that stupid an idea -
IMAQ Write JPEG File doesn't save color
Hi, I'm writing an 8 bit image to file. If I save it as bmp (using "IMAQ Write BMP.vi") File then color data is saved. If I save it as Jpeg using "IMAQ Write JPEG File", then I only get grayscale. I have attached a demonstration. There appears to be a bug in the IMAQ vi.

Using applet to select a part of an image and then save it
Hi ,
I want to use applet to select a part of an image and then save that particular selected part to a server. can anyone provide me a code for this. I have found codes on the sun site which help in uploading an image but I am having trouble in trying to select a part of the image.Sorry to get back to you so late, but I was away from my computer this afternoon.
I'm not sure just what you are after. I do see that you have positioned the tree on the labels. I went to the web site for the label company, and their instructions are not too helplful.
http://www.pixentral.com/show.php?picture=15sBkl9OZE9xSkHoLMxgwjTFv2VCg1
I changed the white portion of 1 label to black - - this can be any color. To do this use the magic wand tool, tolerance=10 worked for me, then go to Edit>fill selection. -
When I choose to save a pdf file directly when using Firefox, it works perfectly. However, when I choose to open a pdf instead and then save it, the save directly displayed will always be a temp directory and it would be more convenient for me to choose a directory closer to where most of my files normally go. How do I change this?

Hi all,
Is it possible to open a tdms file and make a small change an an array subset then save the file without having to save the whole dataset as a different file with a new name? That is to say, is there something similar to "Save" in MS Word rather than "Save As"... I only want to change a 1D array of four data points in a file of 7M data points.
I am not sure if this make sense? Any help is apreciated.
Thanks,
JackYou can use either one, but for your application, I would use the synchronous. It requires far less setup. When you open the file, set both enable asynchronous and disable buffering to FALSE to enable you to use synchronous with arbitrary data sizes.
Attached code is LabVIEW 2011.

16bit? Pixels extending beyond the canvas? (from a crop with delete unused pixels turn off). Have you previously been saving PSD files?
IME you sometimes have to tell Photoshop that the first save of a session is JPG, and it remembers from there on. The way to 'tell' Photoshop that JPG, or PDF, or PNG etc are now your preferred format is to Ctrl (Cmd) click on that format in the Save As drop down list. So long as the file does not have parameters that your chosen format does not support, then this should work for you.
[EDIT] Just noticed that you did include 'Crop' in the subject line. Do you have 'Delete cropped pixels' checked?
