Write off material value partially.

Dear Gurus,
We have 100 quantity of a certain material M1 in a Plant P1 with  MAP of Rs.1000.00 . Now, 40 qty of the material has deteriorated upon which it can still be used but as Materials M2 with a MAP of Rs.300.00 in Plant P1. We now want to transer this 40 qty to the material no. M2 after writing down the value of M1 to Rs.300.00.
Can somebody suggest a process for this please.
Thanks and regards,
Sheeja.

Hello Sheeja,
You can achieve this by doing material to material transfer in MB1B - 309 movement type.
If the price control for material M2 is V - Moving average price, then the material has to be revaluated back to rs.300 in MR21 as the transfer of material M1 with valuation price Rs.1000 will increase the price for material M2. If M2 is having standard price S, then no problem with valuation as the difference ie (1000-300)*40 will go to income/expense account.
So if M2 is having Moving average price,
Material to material transfer from M1 to M2 in MB1B with 309 movement type.
Then revaluate M2 to Rs.300 in MR21.

  • Write Off Quantity and value

    hi,
How do I write off the value and quantity for the stocks?
For stock materials we do the physical inventory - entering count adjust qty and posting adjust vale . But how can I adjust for value only articles?

    Hi,
That will be easy for you to post MI10 document .This will write of the quantity and value of that quantity.
If you want to change the standard price of the material post a MR21 document.

  • Physical Inventory IM write off report with values

    Hi All
I am having difficulty in finding a standard transaction that will detail IM write off with a value/cost.
I can see tha values in the LI20 trx which is at WM. However, when you write it off at IM (LI21) it only shows material and quantity and not value. I cannot bring the field in using the layout.
The only way i can currently get the info is to export the data from MB51 (711 and 712 movements) and merge the table in excel with a material cost table and calculate the vaule written off that way.
I need to know the cost to be written off at IM level before I click on the Write Off button.
    Any ideas?
    Darren

Not really clear what you want or why you are complaining.
LI20 is clearing WM differences. Which is a madatory step in the physical inventory cycle. This one will show you the value. and this one is before you post the differences to IM.
LI21 will not show costs. If you wait with LI21 then you  might get other costs than shown in LI20, however, more critical is the stock inconsistency that you have between WM and IM  until you execute LI21.
MB51 has the value within, no need to export to Excel and valuated it with a price from another download.

  • Partial Retirement in ABAVN Transaction; Write-off quatity; ANLA-MENGE

    Hi Experts,
I hv gonr thru one Z_Prog. & assuming like,
The Z-Prog. is pulling the data of ANLA-MENGE i.e. Quantity of a given Asset (Sub) Number(say, Asset_Sub_No_123). Say the quantity is 10 EA.
Then Z_Prog is doing Write-off of quantity of 4 EA.
    Finally, doing ABAVN transaction,
    So, am assuning like,
    1) The Partial Retirement quantity in ABAVN transaction, is 4 EA!
    2) The new/updated quantity of Asset_Sub_No_123 = 10 - 4 = 6!
    3) i.e. updated  ANLA-MENGE = 6!
    Is my assumptions r correct?
    ThanQ.

    Hello,
If the materials are excisable, after scrapping, goto T.Code J1IH and select the option ' material write off'.
Enter the material document number along with other details and post the excise JV for the excise value of the scrapped materials.

  • Asset write off in the current fiscal year.

    Hi Experts,
I want to write off an asset in next 4 periods of the current fiscal year 2007. For example:
    Asset 11000
    APC value: 10000
    APC Date: 01.01.2005
The useful life will end in fiscal year 2008.
The book value left at the begining of the current fiscal year 2007 Rs. 4000.00
In the current fiscal year this asset has already been depreciated for previuos 3 periods.
Now Business wants to write off ( fully depreciated ) this asset in next 4 periods equally and then if the book value and tax value is nil, they want to scap the asset.
Now can you please tell me how to make this happened. Its very urgent. If you need any more information, most welcome.
    Rgds,
    BABA

    Hi,
You would have to set the asset to manual depreciation(Depr.Key MANU)
and generate a posting via ABMA for each of the periods.
    Kind regards

  • AP Accrual write off

    Hi,
Kindly help to me to understand under what situation we need to write-off the AP accrual ?
Wouldn't we want to accrue all univoiced Receipts ?
    Thanks

    Here are some resons:
    1. What PO warehouse has received may not be the one finance/accounting has invoiced. Hence you PO remains open as if it is not invoiced.
2.Sometimes finance may invoice without matching and pay vendor.Hence vendor may not question and procurement is also not questioning because they have received material.
    3. Lot of times finance creates invoice for freight with accrual account with no reference to PO.this gets qualified for writeoff.
4.Invoicing for more quantity than what has been recvd. On the similar note invoicing in advance but never received.
Actually if you look at the reasons for the accrual build up you will find answers.

  • Asset Write-off in Advance..

    Hi All,
Can anybody explain me about an asset write-off procedure before the End-of-Date of that asset value date.
For example Asset having the End-of-date as 31.12.2008. For this, we want to write-off this asset on 31.10.2007.
    Thanks in Advance...

    Hi Pal,
    Thanks for your reply..
Here, we are having around 70 assets. For that we can do like this??
If we will do 100% dep. now itself, the remaining amount  will post to the depreciation account na?? With this no problem??
    Please reply me...
    Thanks & Regards..

  • Asset write-off in prior month.

Is it possible to write off assets from an earlier month end date e.g the NBV of assets with a month end date of 31/05/09 or can you only write off within the current month?
If this is possible, how will SAP deal with the depreciation and how will it charge any depreciation posted after that date?

    Hi Jeremy Lumb
Yes you can retire an asset in prior period where depreciation has already been posted. The system will recalculate the total depreciation for year in the retirement year and make adjustments (positive value) in the next period. You can then run depreciation again so the adjusted value will be posted .
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks

  • Write off assets

What is the best method to write off assets to 0, This means I want to accelerate depreciation so that the asset net value reaches 0. But I <b>do not</b> wat to retire the asset.

Post unplanned depreciation in the amount of the current net book value.  Keep in mind that this will take affect after depreciation is run (it is not an FI document) and will therefore show the asset as being fully depreciated.
There are some other ways (using special depreciation transactions) but this is the one most widely used.

  • Write off using Dunning

    Hi All,
I want to write off open items during dunning run in FICA using transaction code (FPVA/FPVB).
Can anyone let me know , which function module i should assign in Dunning Activity for write off.
    Thanks
    Puneet

    Hi Puneet,
The FM  that you can use for performing a write-off is BAPI_CTRACDOCUMENT_WRITEOFF.
However, the import parameters for the FM may not get all the values during the dunning activity.
So I would recommend you to develop a custom FM and assign that to the corresponding dunning activity. In the custom FM, retrieve all the necessary parameters and then pass them in the FM BAPI_CTRACDOCUMENT_WRITEOFF
    Hope it helps..
    Thanks,
    Amlan

  • Write Off in IS-U

    Hi Experts,
When write off is carried out, the entire amount of invoice is written off or partial based on our selection(Full/Partial).
    The new requirement is
While write off, the tax amount should be posted to its own tax account instead of going to write off account.
i.e only the net invoice amount should go to write off account and tax amount should goto tax account only(if tax is credited in invoice, while write off, tax needs to be debited to tax account & vice versa)
    Your valauable suggestions are appreciated.
Please forward any config document for the same.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Krishna,
    Your requirement is possible.
You need to assign the relevant tax code in EK02 against the write-off main\sub combination.
You also need to maintain the tax code aginst each combiantion of company code\write-off reason\division in posting area 0120.
    Hope it helps
    Thanks,
    Amlan
