Writing 'Copyright' across each image in a batch of photos?

I have recently upgraded to Photoshop CS5 from CS2.  My older version of Photoshop 7 included in the file - Automate - menu; an option to create a web gallery of photos with each resized to perhaps 450 pixels and it could also include the addition of text across each picture e.g. "Copyright" - - also at a chosen colour and angle.  This was useful for web galleries of 'proof' pictures.  Does anyone please know an easy way to achieve this in the latest version of Photoshop CS5 ?  My old Power Mac G5 running Photoshop 7 for this feature (among others) has now sadly expired .  Thank you in anticipation of some help and assistance

While the default install has moved on and a couple of things moved to Bridge you can still try this…

If you want to retain some of the older features… May still do what you want?

  • Looking to create script(s) that open a folder of image and save as each image is edited/retouched.

I used to use the iOpener plug-in to read a folder of images and present each image to me to edit/retouch.  When I was done with the image, I clicked a button on a panel and it saved the resulting PSD in a designated destination folder and automagically retrieved the next image in the folder.  Do this repeatedly until all images in the folder were processed.  Fundy had a nice tool (Batch Editor), but it is end-of-life and not being offered anymore and iOpener seems to no longer be maintained.  Target app is Photoshop CS6 / CC.
I want to build a simple set of scripts, embedded in a panel, that would let me replicate the basic function of these tools.  Open an image from a selected folder.  Let me do all the edits I want.  Then save the result to a designated destination folder (or just a Save and Close), the serve up the next image.
I have many years of software development in other languages, but relatively new to adobe scripting so am looking for example code to get me heading the right direction.  Also doesn't hurt to know whether something like this already exists and I can just use it.
    Thanks!

    PERFECT!!!!!!
This is exactly what I was going to build.  No need to create when it is already done.
    Thank you very much.

  • How to view File Pathway of each image in the content screen?

Hi, I'm looking at many, slightly varying, copies of an image on my hard drive, trying to work out exactly which version I need to use. I want to know what the filename pathway is for each image, to help me make my choice.
Can anyone tell me how I can view the filename pathway of each of the images shown in the Content screen, other than by choosing 'Reveal in Bridge'? I'd really like to see all the pathways next to each image, so that I can compare them.
(I'm definitely going to have to be more organised with my file naming, metadata, versioning, etc.)
    Thanks for any help,
    Cheers, Steven

Good grief, I can't believe I didn't see it. It's not exactly what I want, as I'd prefer to see all the pathways at once, but it's better than what I had... Interestingly, it only appears when I have photos from a search displayed. I guess when I have the contents of a folder displayed, the pathway is shown across the top using folder icons.
    Thanks for your help.
    Cheers,
    Steven

  • Two images on a page, want to number each image.  How?

Page layout with two images on a page, other pages have one image.  I want to have a number associated with each image.  I tried page numbering to no avail.  How do I have a sequence number for each image?
I further complicate this; I will make many documents, each document will have about five pages, as I progress, I want the photo numbers to function likek page numbers, across all the documents.
    How do I accomplish this?
    Rob

Thank you, I am closer to the solution after following your instructions. On the Master pages (Two page spread), I made a text frame adjacent to each of two frames for the images (There will be two images on each document page, thus two frames on each Master Page).  They are threaded together and I verified this by View > Show Text Threads.
Since I am not getting the right result, I must have done something wrong.  I made numbered List using Paragrach Styles.  I could not find "text attribubutes" so I am probably not doing this right.  Please note that I have spent 7 hours on this so far, so I am making an effort.
It seems reasonable that this should be done on a Master layout, is this right?  So far, the text frame number flow from 1 to 4 across the the Master Page spread.  Thus the first two pages are correct.  However, when page is added based on the Master it repeats the same flow: 1 though 4.  I expect this because that's what the Master shows,  However, I want the numbers to continue as I add photos to additional pages.
Thank you for any additional information you are willing to provide.

  • 'Pan' across an image

I've seen some Keynote presentations and been blown away by the quality and visual impact and would love to 'switch', particularly when we have rumoured MacBooks in the next few days
However - I've been into the Apple Store in London to have a play with Keynote 3 myself to see if it can do one thing that I simply have to have in 99% of the presentations that I give - the ability to move images around.
    To explain what I mean..
    www.unmannedspaceflight.com/dougimages/pantest.ppt ( 2 meg )
I need to take a huge image like that, and then move it to simulate panning across an image - but in the brief time I've tried Keynote, I was unable to find a way to do that and couldn't find much information in Keynotes help section either.
Is this something Keynote 3 can do at all - and if it can, is there a limit on the size of image involved? I've found powerpoint will just give up with images more than about 5 megapixels or so - and some of the images I want to show are in the region of 8000 or so pixels across.
Any pointers or confirmation that Keynote can do this would be much appreciated!
    Many thanks
    Doug Ellison

Ok, I played around with this and I think I found a work around. Here is what to do:
    1) Choose a solid color background as your theme and pick a Blank master slide
    2) Take the image you want to show and, in iphoto duplicate the image and crop each one of them as follows: 1) The first one will be cropped to half of the image in the following way: from left edge to center of image. The second one will be cropped from right edge to SLIGHTLT TO THE LEFT of the center of image. If done right there should be a slight overlap of the image when placed next to eachother. This will be useful later when creating a build-out and build -in of the two images simultaneously, you would not see a discontinuity between the two animations.
    3) Now create two shapes as vertical rectangles the size of the slide and place one on the left edge of the slide and the other on right edge of the slide. These will serve as masks of the images. Therefore, pick the same color for the shapes as the slide backgroud (in my case it was solid black). The size of the left shape should be identical to the size of the image that is set to build out. The shape should be placed flush with the left side of the slide. This way, it would completely mask the first image as it goes through the full move-out animation. Make sure these shapes are set Front of slide (highlight shapes and click Arrange-->send to Front) so the images move under the shapes and create a mask effect.
    4) Import both images onto slides. set the "left" cropped image with a BUILD OUT of "move right to left" and set the "right"cropped image with build IN of "move right to left".
    5) Play around with duration and delay of both builds to get what you want. For example, the builds should happen at the same time with a longer duration on the build out of first image and a shorter one for the build in on the second image. Delay should be able to make the transitions pretty smooth.
I was able to get it pretty darn close to the real thing.
I hope I did not confuse anyone with the instructions.

  • Uniform Color across 50+ images with Kodak color bar

    Hi,
I shoot 50+ paintings using a Kodak color bar at the bottom of each image, thing is during the shoot the light change from start to finish as the sun moved around, (dumb I know), so is there anyway to get the images to be uniform color across the whole collection. I want to acheive where the color bar is exactly the same in each image?
    I shot everything in RAW...
    Thanks
    SEan

You're going to have to do an individual gray balance on a white or gray patch on every image, as it will not be the same correction for each image. As the light changes it changes color, which is going to be the biggest factor. The changing angles of light reflecting off the paintings can also affect the color rendition. In the end, it really depends on how accurately you need to reproduce the color in the paintings. The more accurate you need to be, the more you will need to make individual corrections in Ps for each image.
When I do this, I correct to the actual painting viewed under a Solux lamp 90 degrees away from my monitor. The best and most accurate color I've seen to date is processing the raw files in CaptureOne and gray balancing to a portion of the white seamless paper in the background. Even complicated paint pigments came right into line with a single click. The input profiles in C1 are truly amazing now.
You may run into problems also with the Kodak color bars themselves. Far too often when you get them looking right, your painting is way off. The pigments used in the color bars react differently to light than the pigments in the painting, and the grayscale steps are never right. They always seem to clip both ends long before you start clipping any detail in your painting.

I scanned an old image using my Epson NX515 printer, used GIMP to make some minor repairs on the image and printed it out.  I noticed there were a number of evenly spaced thin blue lines across the image, approximately six of them. I opened & printed the image on my PC using PAINT.NET.  No lines appeared. I sent the image to my daughter. She printed it and found no lines. I printed the image using Seahorse on my Mac and the lines still appeared. I used basically the same print settings on Mac and PC.

did so now, only now I'm getting a slightly different error: could not find udevd no such file or directory. I checked both grub.cfg's and my mkinitcpio.conf and there's no listing for udevd ....which I've never heard of, so I assumed it was a typo?
For clarification: udev is in the mkinitcpio.
I'm not sure whether I yet have a good intuition for how you have your machine set up, but I suspect you need to include a cryptdevice flag to the kernel in your grub config. The file isn't found because the kernel doesn't know your root directory needs decrypting first.
My setup is an LVM over LUKS over LVM sandwich. To boot into my system, the grub.cfg contains the line:
    linux /vmlinuz-linux root=/dev/mapper/cryptvg-root cryptdevice=/dev/mapper/vg-crypt:root rootfstype=ext4 pcie_aspm=force acpi_osi=Linux acpi_backlight=vendor i915.i915_enable_rc6=1 i915.i915_enable_fbc=1 i915.lvds_downclock=1 ro
Now, most of those flags don't have anything to do with your problem, but note the cryptdevice. It tells the kernel it's dealing with an encrypted filesystem sitting in a logical volume called crypt on a volume group called vg. The bit after the colon tells the kernel to associate this encrypted filesystem with /dev/mapper/root.
As for how to fix your system, I'm afraid I still feel a bit fuzzy about how your LVM and encrypted layers relate to each other, whether you have LVM over LUKS, or LUKS over LVM, or something else. Was there a particular how-to that you followed?

  • Add common keyword quickly across multiple images?

Is there a way to quickly add a common keyword across multiple selected images via simple text entry into the Metadata Panel or File Info dialogue - without loosing the existing multiple keywords?
I can use the keyword panel but this takes longer to add the keyword, and requires removing misc keywords that in most cases I don't want to keep and clutter up the panel.
For example, I have 3 images selected each with a single keyword "dog", "cat" and "horse" respectively.
I want to add a common keyword "animal", eg so that the first image now has two keywords  "dog" and "animal".
The problem with the two methods above is that:
Metadata panel will remove the existing multiple keywords, replacing them with only "animal" in each image
File Info will either do the same (if all existing keywords are highlighted), or if adding the new keyword, combine everything into each image so that each one has "dog", "cat", "horse", and "animal".
Maybe I'm missing something obvious but it doesn't seem intuitive for what I would expect to be a common requirement.
    Thanks

How about to use Metadata Template to append the keyword that you want to add to multiple selected images?
First create a Metadata Template with the common keyword input. And then select the all the images you want to add the keyword and then append the prepared Metadata Template.

  • HT1479 I would like to know how to burn a dvd in such a way that each image can be skipped over by pressing the skip button.

I would like to know how to burn a dvd in such a way that each image can be skipped over by pressing the skip button? If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated!

Here's how top get a slideshow that will let the viewer manually control the forward and backward movement of the slides with the forward and back buttons on the DVD remote.
1 - put the images you want to use in an iPhoto album.
2 - launch iDVD, select a theme and add a slideshow using the "+" button at the bottom:
3 - click on the Media button at the lower right hand corner of the window and then click on the Photos button.
4 - locate the iPhoto album containing your photos and drag it into the left hand pane:
5 - select Side Duration to Manual.
In order to get the maximum manual control of the slides you cannot have add any music to the slideshow.  If you do add music the slideshow will continue you advance unless you pause the slideshow and/or use the advance/back buttons and then pause.
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the  File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option.  This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image and launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding was good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.

  • How to add title/caption to each image in Bridge web gallery

    Hi,
I am creating a web gallery within Bridge and I want to add a title and caption to each image in my web gallery. How do I do that? The only thing I see is the Site Info. section and that adds a title and caption to the entire web gallery (including each image) and I want different titles and captions for each image. There must be a simple way to do this I just haven't figured it out yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
    ashmic19

Thanks Curt Y for your help. The thing is I have to use only Bridge. I looked up this problem on http://www.experts-exchange.com/ and they said it was not possible to add titles and captions for individual images (slides) in a web gallery in Bridge. They seemed to imply that this was overlooked. So I input what I could based on what was provided by Bridge and turned it in. Thanks to all who viewed and replied to this post. I appreciate it.

  • I have Photoshop CS5 and my image processor and batch tool are gone. How do I get them back?

I have Photoshop CS5 and my image processor and batch tool are gone. How do I get them back?
I went into edit preference and all the start up scrips are selected so what else is there?

When you installed CS5, you have a chance to register it. If you do, your serial number is on file under your Adobe (My Products). If you did not, you have no serial number on file and even worse, no proof you own it.
You do not have your serial number copied down anywhere? Hard to believe you tossed the dvd box and all the documents away.
So Help > Register might give you a chance to do this without you knowing the number.
If not, you may want to consider the Photography Plan. Creative Cloud Photography plan | Adobe Creative Cloud

  • Bridge cs6 output is watermark »place on each image« now default

Regarding the Output Module »bridge_reference.pdf« states
    Watermark
Add a text or graphical watermark to each page or each image. Customize the text font, size, and color.
Customize the text or graphic’s scale, opacity, offset, and rotation.
In CS5 there was a checkbox »Place on Each Image« that I can’t seem to locate in CS6.
So has the reference file just been adjusted to new levels of limited usefullness or was the ability to add watermarks either to a page or each image on the page really dropped in CS6?
    Thanks for any info.
    Edit: Mac OSX 10.6.8
Edit 2: Saving a Template in CS5 and transfering that to CS6 can, it seems, apply a Watermark to the page instead of the images.
One can then change the other settings but not create such a Template in CS6 from scratch without starting from a Template that already has the setting.
It seems like the setting works fine, but the interface element is missing … which, if true, would appear to be a bit of a blunder.

  • Preview displays PDF with "COPY" written across each page

Canon's saving money by no longer including the User Guide with some of their camera's such as the Canon A1100 IS:
If I go to the canon site:
    http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=183&mo delid=18138#DownloadDetailAct
... I can download the User Guide as a PDF from here:
    http://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/6/0300001856/01/PSA1100ISCUGEN.pdf
In Preview 5.0.1 (503), every page of the manual has the word "COPY" written across every page, which interferes with legibility.
If I open the same PSA1100ISCUGEN.pdf file in Acrobat Pro 9, then the word "COPY" is no longer displayed.
However if I go to print the manual from Acrobat Pro 9, then the preview in the Print Dialog shows the word "COPY" across each page to be printed.
So whether I use OS X's Preview.app, or Acrobat Pro 9, they both share the same printing subsystem which wants to print "COPY" across every page.
BTW Preview.app's "Show Inspector" identifies the Canon User Guide as protected, but with Printing privileges.
Any guidance on how to print the Canon User Guide without the word "COPY" across every page? Any thoughts on why Preview.app displays the word "COPY" onscreen, while Adobe Acrobat 9 does not? Any thoughts on whether there's a way around the common OS X printing subsystem that both sit on, wanting to print "COPY" across every page?
PS. I'm using an Canon IP5000 ink jet, but the behavior seems the same if I'm pointing to my office's Kyocera Postscript printer.

Search for the manual on the european site http://canon-europe.com/ - the versions there (at least for the A1100 IS) do not have the annoying COPY watermark.
The direct link for the A1100 IS manual is http://files.canon-europe.com/files/soft32765/manual/PSA1100isCUGEN.pdf

  • Set exported resolution for each image within InDesign

I'm generating a document in InDesign destined only for the screen (as a PDF) and I'm wondering whether in CS6 the user can set the exported resolution separately for each image. i.e click on a image and set the resolution for that image. Reason: to allow end-viewers to zoom in on certain images and retain quality.
And while I'm on the subject of changing resolution, a few years ago someone wrote a script for me (in response to a post), that when you clicked on an image within InDesign, resampled the original to 300 dpi, saved it, and made the necessary adjustments in InDesign so the image stayed the same size.
Can CS6 do that? Or do I need to dig up the old script?

    > ... destined only for the screen (as a PDF) ...
The developers of PDF will thank you for that statement!

  • Some photos have a narrow bar across the images, on others the bottom is black.

On my most recent batch of photos, 14% of images have a narrow horizontal bar running from right toward left, and 12% of images (none with the horizontal bar) the bottom of the images becomes black running from bottom toward top when I click "Crop" to begin the cropping process in iPhoto—it is a solid block of black, as if a shade was drawn up from the bottom.
Images whose bottom becomes black appear normal (without the black "shade") till I click "Crop" in iPhoto—sometimes the full image will return if (in Edit mode) I toggle to the next image then toggle right back. With one photo I was able to toggle back and cause the full image to reappear, then switch off Edit ode and drag the photo to my desktop—but when I imported that photo, the new version also blacked out on the bottom.

    Reply to Terence Devlin:
There really is not anything different with the pictures. We will take a picture of the same piece of art mulitple times, and all the pictures of the same piece of art work don't work.
It only messes up after we crop it.
We tried the backup and rebuild, but it didn't work.
    Thank you though!
