Wrong calculated profit/loss in f.01 financial statement

i have created new finanical statment version in ob58.
and i am using that in f.01 financial statement,
but calculated profit coming wrong
why it is coming wrong,
& how it is calculating.

Hi Thiru
In OB58, double-click on your newly created Financial Statement Version and then click on Fin. Statement Items
This includes all your accounts that are linked to your FSV. You can change the order or add / remove the accounts from this setting and then save your FSV.
We surely can't say WHY is your profit wrong, but this might suggest you HOW it calculates and can be corrected.
Let me know if it helps.

  • Copy Cost Element groups to Financial Statement Version

    Hi
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to copy cost elemnt groups to a financial statement version?
Is possible to copy Profit Center Accoount groups to financial statement version?
    Will appreciate any response.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi
I am not sure if cost element groups or PC groups can be copied to FSV.
Firstly, I would like to know the logic for such assignment.
    However pls check the link

  • 'Calculated Result' (profit/loss) is not displayed in BW query (NW04s)

The hierachy for financial statement item (0GLACCEXT) contains the folowing nodes:
    -> Stocholder's Equity
    > Profit/Loss current year
    > Calculated profit (0COA/0BSRESULT-)
    > Calculated profit
    > Calculated loss
    > Calculated loss (0COA/0BSRESULT+)
When I run a balance sheet query against virtual cube 0FIGL_V11, I don't get any data for nodes 'Calculated profit' & 'Calculated loss'.

    Dear gurus,
I am searching to solve the same issue you Raynald reported...
Unfortunately, despite the 0BAL_DEPEND information correctly updated, this note  0COA/0BSRESULT+) does not appear.
Everything looks OK on the configuration side...Anyone has an idea what could cause the calculation not to be done ?

  • Financial Reporting in BI. Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss

    Hello Gurus,
    Background
I have a problem in finacial reports esp. Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss reports. When SAP ERP implemented, they have designed the FSV according to the country accounting and business requirements for external reporting. But the regional financial office in the UK requires a different way of reporting esp. the break up of costs in P&L.
As a solution they, non BI and Management have suggsted to design these reports Balance Sheet and P&L in BI and change the design as per the requirement for UK office. i.e For P&L combine FI and CCA queries.
    Problem
My problem is, the queries are designed as GL Account Heirarchies and that are static. So for any GL I need to open the Query (FI) and add the GL into the specific group and any new Cost Center I need to open CCA Query and update Cost Center and Cost Elements manually. After adding the GL I need to reconcile both reports...etc It takes half day or full day sometimes to reconcile the reports.
P&L Report is designed as a workbook having three sheets. This workbook has two queris , FI and CCA. Both of them static heirarchy (user defined). So GL Grouping is maintained manually. The third sheet, has the layout and formula to fetch the values from the other two sheets.
Also Balance sheet workbook is having two sheets. The query is having 0GL_Account heirarchy. So when a new GL is added, I need to change the formulas on the other sheet which displays the Balance Sheet in the required format.
    My questions
What is the best practice for month end / year end financial reports?
How you have designed the P&L and Balance sheet in BI?
    Do you maintain GLs manually?
How can I re-design this reports so that I need not spend a signle minute of them on every month end / year end.
    Regards
    MultiABAP

To be honnest, I didn't fully understand your case, but I got the general logic.
I would say that you first need to harmonize your data and apply to them the group business rules before doing your reporting. This can be done by different ways. The best one according to me is to define a consolidation chart of accounts (based on the group policy) and mapp these accounts to the operational accounts automatically using BI transformations. Then you'll be able to define your reportings based on this harmonized referential.

  • Special Item Net Profit & Net Loss in Financial statement version

I have two queries related to the financial statement version special items of Net Result Profit & Net Result Loss. The SAP help says that "The financial statement profit or loss is determined from only those accounts assigned to assets or liabilities".
Does this mean that the difference of Assets & liabilities comes under either of these items or the amount is derived from the P&L result, please clarify. As per my understanding that we do not assign any accounts to these two nodes & the system determines the figure from assets & liabilities accounts.
Secondly where do we assign the retained earning account, in the liabilities node or in the P&L node.
    Thanks

    Hello,
For your first question, yes your understanding is correct. The difference of the items assigned to the Assets and Liabilities will come under the Net Result Profit or Net Result Loss, as the case may be.
For your second question, the retained earnings should be assigned to the Liabilities node.
Ideally, when you assign the retained earnings to the Liability node, the Net result Profit or Loss should become "zero" assuming that you had assigned all the GL accounts from your trial balance to the correct nodes in the Financial Statement Version.

  • PCA Financial Statement (Profit/Loss Account and Balance Sheet)

    Hi Experts,
I have the following question on preparing PCA Financial Statement (Profit/Loss Account and Balance Sheet), ECC6.0, with document splitting features.
Let say I started my business with the following GL accounts:
    Bank A, USD6,000
    Bank B, USD4,000
    Capital, USD10,000
My company does have 2 departments (cost centers), and the above Balance Sheet GLs, cannot be identified / separated in the cost centers level. My cost centers to profit centers is one-to-one, which are cost center A = profit center A, and cost center B = profit center B
I have  Sales to customer of USD12,000, and Receipts from customer is USD7,000 at Bank B, therefore (customer balance is USD5,000).
    I have also expenses:
    Expense A: USD1,000 (cost center A)
    Expense B: USD800 (cost center B)
Double entry for expense is Dr Expense, Credit Vendor.
I paid 50% of each of the expenses using Bank A, which are: expense A, paid: USD500; expense B, paid: USD400
My Financial statement without profit center should be as follows:
    P/L Account:
    Sales, USD12,000
    Expenses, USD1,800
    Profit: USD10200
    Balance Sheet:
    Bank A: USD5,100
    Bank B: USD11,000
    Customer: USD5,000
    Vendor: USD900
    Profit: USD10,200
    Capital: USD10,000
    Question:
How can I report the above financial statement into PCA level, which are Profit center A and Profit center B?
Note: I can't hardly separate Bank account, Sales (revenue) into Profit center level (Assuming I am only using FICO module, No SD/MM Module).
I can't use FAGL3KEH to differentiate the Bank Account.
During data entry for revenue, I can't have valid reason the revenue belongs to which profit center.
Kindly advise on is there any way (with logical reason) to make financial statement into profit center level.
    THANKS IN ADVANCE.
    Sbmel.

Basically You/Business need to Identify the need for Profit center wise Balancesheet is required or not? If Balance sheet at Profit center level is required then whether they have to decide whether can seggeregate every account balance to a profit center is possible or not? In other words on a cut over date you should have a Profit center wise Trail balance in place. Once it is in place rest all is possible.
What I can understand from your question is how to identify Gl balances against profit centers foor balance sheet Items. If it is not possible then you can create a corporate profit center and post all transactions to that profit center.
When comes to cash / Bank/Customer/vendor balances the system Identifies the item belongs to whihc profit center and in case cross profit cneter transactions are involved the system uses the "ZERO BALANCE CLEARING" account as an intermediate account for posting the data. By this one profit center will be Dr. and other will be in Cr as far as ZERO BALANCE ACCOUNT" is concerned and at company code level this GL balance is always ZERO.

  • Powerpivot calculation consistently results in #ERROR when using the following syntax =RELATED(Supertab[Profit loss])

Problem has arisen in Powerpivot and I have been religiously following the processes shown on numerous excel forum videos
I cannot see any difference between the syntax I submit and that submitted in the examples, yet I get errors all the time. Have I missed a step somewhere in the set up of PowerPivot. Give me a hint as I am going quietly bananas here.

    Hi dfothers,
Assuming that you've correctly defined a relationship between the two tables and that Supertab[Profit loss] is on the 'many' side of the one-to-many relationship (this is the most likely scenario that you'd get an error with the formula you provided) you'll
need to apply an aggregation function to successfully pull the column into the table on the 'one' side of the relationship.
You could do this with the RELATEDTABLE function...
    =SUMX(RELATEDTABLE(Supertab), Supertab[Profit loss])
    ...or with the CALCULATE function...
    =CALCULATE(SUM(Supertab[Profit loss]))
If the relationship is in fact a one-to-one then one of the tables will still be on the 'many' side but you could use something similar to the following to return a non-aggregated value:
    =CALCULATE(FIRSTNONBLANK(Supertab[Profit loss],1 ))

    Michael

  • Wrong postings of profit, loss and write off values.

    hi,
I am facing one problem when I am doing retirement by f-92 and ABAV. Profit, loss and loss made on asset retirement w/o revenue are not not going in their respective gl accounts defined in AO90 (Assign G/L Accounts.). The entry is going in contra account acquisition value / clearing a/c revenue from asset sale. When I see in the customizing I came to know that gl accounts for profit , loss and loss made on asset retirement w/o revenue is rightly defined in AO90 (Assign G/L Accounts) in customizing.
    thanks & regards

Hi it should be posted on a P&L account, use Trans type 200 in ABAV

  • Profit & Loss based on Exchange Rate

    Dear All,
Please help me in one of my client's scenario as mentioned below:
    1. I create an Invoice in USD (Foreign Currency).     //Exchange Rate at the time of Invoice was .90
    2. I purchase USD from AUD (Local Currency) by passing a journal Entry.
    3. Now I make a outgoing Payment using this invoice in Step 1.     //Exchange Rate at the time of Payment is .96
I would like to know the effective process to map into SAP B1.
Question A: My Client doesn't want to change the exchange rate at the time of outgoing payment. He wants that the exchange rate at the time of payment should be as it was while making the invoice.
Question B:  He wants to calculate the profit & Loss of Exchange rate at the time of purchasing USD From AUD.
Please help me to map this process in SAP B1. Any kind of help would be appreciated.
    Regards
    Pankaj Jha

    Hi Pankaj,
For mapping above Process in SAP B1, Please follow below steps.
    1. Create one Ledger for Purchase Foreign Currency eg. Forex Purchase Ledger and make this Ledger as All Currency
    2. When ever you want to Purchase Foreign Currency then Pass Journal Entry to this Clearing Ledger            eg.                    Local Currency Ledger                               Credit
                                      Forex Purchase Ledger          Debit
Now after doing this Pass another Journal Entry
                                      Forex Purchase Ledger                               Credit
                                      Foreign Currency Ledger          Debit
    3. After following above Two Steps you can do Outgoing Payment for Foreign Purchase Invoice.
Answer A:- No, Exchange Rate will not be same as Invoice. Exchange Rate is based on Daily Basis. If any change in Exchange of Outgoing Payment Document Posting Date then System will automatically hit Exchange Rate Gain or Loss Account.
Answer B:- If i am not wrong then you can not see Profit and Loss based on Exchange Rate. For work around Check below on Profit and Loss Based on Exchange rate Purchase.
Please create one Project for Purchasing Foreign Currency and Select this Project every time when ever you are Purchasing Foreign Currency. Then you can see Profit and Loss by Project.
    Hope this help

PLease share any documents if you hae.
    Thanks
    Best regards
    SG

    Hi SG,
What Raghu has shared are the best practices. However, what you need is the understanding of the these financial statements from a general perspective (not BPC). These documents are just financial statements. BPC is just a tool, in which you can create these statements. But, in order to create these statements in BPC, you need to understand the basic terminologies of the financial statements.
You can search them directly. on the internet.
    Hope this helps.

  • Wrong Gross Profit

    Hi All,
I have created an A/R Invoice, now when I see the gross profit report it shows wrong base price (zero) and wrong gross profit.
Base Price By was Last Purchase Price.
I am using Manage by Batch No. option.
While A/R Invoice I have selected respective Batches.
But the system has picked up the base price from one transaction which I did not select in Batch selection.
For particular Item there were 3 Incoming trasactions, 2 were opening balance with respective value and last was also opening balance but with value zero.
    The valuation method is FIFO.
    Can anyone explain me
1.Why the zero value has been picked up in the gross profit calculation and
2.How can I correct this value to have correct base value and correct gross profit ?
    Thanks,
    Samir Gandhi
Edited by: Samir Gandhi on Dec 5, 2008 5:57 PM

    Hi Samir,
Please give the dates of those 3 Incoming transactions.  FIFO calculation will always pick the earliest possible transaction which haven't be offset yet.
    Thanks,
