Wrong Translation

Wrong Italian Localization:
Show --> Spettacolo (noun) while you've translated with 'Mostra' (that is a verb)

That is a pretty funny mistranslation. How do you say in Italian, "to go to the show, you must show your ticket"?

  • UPDATE ... FROM, wrong translation in Scratch Editor

    I use SQL Developer 1.5.0.52
    I want migrate from T-SQL(MSSQL 2005) to PL/SQL(Oracle 10g) in the Scratch Editor. I often use the UPDATE ... FROM command in T-SQL, the tranlation in the Scratch Editor is wrong with more than one join. I need a quick solution for my problem!
    Little example:
    Tables:
    drop table A;
    create table A(
    a1 int,
    a2 int
    drop table B;
    create table B(
    b1 int,
    b2 int
    drop table C;
    create table C(
    c1 int,
    c2 int
    insert into A values( 1, 1);
    insert into A values( 2, 2);
    insert into A values( 3, 3);
    insert into B values( 1, 1);
    insert into B values( 2, 2);
    insert into B values( 3, 3);
    insert into C values( 1, 11);
    insert into C values( 2, 22);
    insert into C values( 3, 33);
    T-SQL with 2 tables
    update A
    set A.a2 = c.c2
    from A inner join C on A.a1 = c.c1
    PL/SQL with 2 tables
    The Scratch Editor translates it correct and I can work with this translation.
    MERGE INTO A
    USING (SELECT * FROM C) C
    ON ( A.a1 = c.c1 )
    WHEN MATCHED THEN UPDATE SET a2 = c.c2;
    T-SQL with 3 tables
    Now we take a table more between A and C (it's simple in T-SQL):
    update A
    set A.a2 = c.c2
    from A
    inner join B on A.a1 = B.b1
    inner join C on B.b2 = c.c1
    PL/SQL with 3 tables, wrong translation
    The Scratch Editor translates it in a difficult form and it's only correct, when the where clause get only one ROW.
    ==> The solution is wrong for all other cases( more then one ROW)
    UPDATE A
    SET ( a2 ) = ( SELECT c.c2
    FROM A
    JOIN B on A.a1 = B.b1
    JOIN C on B.b2 = c.c1 )
    WHERE ROWID IN (SELECT A.ROWID
    FROM A
    JOIN B on A.a1 = B.b1
    JOIN C on B.b2 = c.c1);
    PL/SQL with 3 tables, correct translation(my desire)
    My own translation:
    MERGE INTO A
    USING ( select B.b1, B.b2, C.c1, C.c2
    from B
    inner join C on B.b2 = C.c1) e
    on (A.a1 = e.b1)
    WHEN MATCHED THEN UPDATE
    set A.a2 = e.c2;
    I want the correct translation with the Scratch Editor or I must write an own tool for this case. It is possible to config the Scratch Editor for specific cases?

    Hi Carlos,
    Thanks for this feedback. The nice testcase really helps.
    I have replicated your issue and added the details to the bug
    6976327: OTNFORUMS : UPDATE JOIN CLAUSE NOT TRANSLATED CORRECTLY
    As they are in a similar area to the other issue you reported.
    You solution is fine, but I would like to suggest a small change as to how the Translator should behave.
    T-SQL
    update A
    set A.a2 = c.c2
    from A
    inner join B on A.a1 = B.b1
    inner join C on B.b2 = c.c1
    Your Solution
    MERGE INTO A
    USING ( select B.b1, B.b2, C.c1, C.c2
    from B
    inner join C on B.b2 = C.c1) e
    on (A.a1 = e.b1)
    WHEN MATCHED THEN UPDATE
    set A.a2 = e.c2;
    Suggested Solution
    MERGE INTO A
    USING ( SELECT a.rowid a_rowid, c.c2
    from A
    inner join B on A.a1 = B.b1
    inner join C on B.b2 = c.c1) x
    on (A.rowid = x.a_rowid)
    WHEN MATCHED THEN UPDATE
    set A.a2 = x.c2;
    I think the suggested solution is a little more easier to translate and maintain.
    I keep the entire set/from/on clauses together and just added the rowid. . Then I only have to reference the rowid in the ON clause to specify which rows to change. In your solution the on clauses are broken up between the subquery and the on condition.
    Any comments appreciated.
    Thanks
    Dermot.

  • Wrong translation of escape codes?

    We use the Oracle XSLT processor on Oracle 8i. Problem is, the source document contains escape codes for foreign characters, an example is ó
    However, no matter what escape codes we use, the target document, after xsl translation, always translates this into two bytes: BF BF.
    What are we doing wrong? Our source document AND our xsl sheet contain the ISO-8859-1 encodings, and using a download version of the oracle 9i xsl parser in Cooktop produces the correct result (in our example, the escape code is translated into the byte F3).
    Could it be something in the session NLS settings?

    By the way, we store the result document in a CLOB. Maybe this could be the problem?

  • Wrong translation for CC an BCC in Slovenian language

    Personally, I don't use this a lot, but when I do, it is annoying.
    In GW Client with Slovenian translation options for opening CC an BCC lines are now "+Skp" and "+Kp".
    CC is translated as SKP
    BCC is translated as KP
    It should be vice versa.
    CC -> KP
    BCC -> SKP
    Its kind-a weird feeling to clik a + sign to add "SKP" (BCC) to show line for "Kopija" (CC) or to click "+KP" to show "Skp" (BCC) line
    To make it right :
    for "CC" : Kopija (line name that shows is OK) should be activated with "+Kp"
    for "BCC" Skp (line name is OK - abbreviation for Skrita Kopija) should be activated with "+Skp"
    Have a nice day,
    Bojan

  • Wrong translation commond when I write Tuxedo Service to use Informix Database

    If you had found the same case , Please advise me too.
    Thanks you very much for your advise.
    [roll.ec]

    If ud32 reported a syntax error, then your service was never called.
    Normally, a service running under XA control should not issue transactional SQL
    statements. Begins and Rollbacks are issued from the transaction manager, not the
    application code.
    Can you post the Tuxedo message catalog number, and your ud32 script, as well as
    your environment variables?

  • Wrong language translation

    Dear support,
    the welcome word whitin the Mast Head is wrong translated in Italian.
    For example "Welcome, Mario Rossi" is translated in
    "Benvenuti Mario Rossi" instead of "Benvenuto Mario Rossi", because Mario is a masculine name.
    How can we customize the system in using a different "Welcome" word?
    Thanks in advance,
    regards,
    Nicola
    P.S.: I'm using EP6.0 SP2 P4.

    Nicola -
    You can manually change the Welcome word in the com.sap.portal.navigation.masthead.par file.  Within the PAR file resides the file headeriView_nls_it.properties.
    Next, I would re-par the files and save to the customer namespace instead of the SAP namespace.  This will prevent your changes from being overwritten.  Afterwards, upload the par file, and create a new header iView based upon the custom par file.  Finally, edit the default framework page and add the newly created header iView to it.
    I took a look at the properties file, and I'm not sure that it has the ability to distinguish between masculine and feminine names.
    As to getting SAP to change this, I'd suggest opening up an OSS message.
    Hope this helps!

    Kyle

  • Currency translation - based on posting date

    Hi everyone..
    im again posting this topic bcos im in need of a solution for my problem as early as possible.please excuse me.
    Problem related to currency conversion:
    Im taking a report from sales order and billing cube,and the report is coming fine,but when i apply the currency conversion type,it is not giving the correct conversion.
    In report,im using exchange rate on document posting date.
    So if i compare the value in R/3 with the reporting value,the difference comes.
    For the currency conversion type i used, i checked in rrc2,it is like this.
    Exch rate type:M-standard translation at avg rate
    Source curr:from data record
    Tgr curr:selection with translation
    Time ref:Varoiable time reference:A-To the exact day
    Special Infoobj:Posting date object
    So what could be the problem for the wrong translation.the difference is about 1.2 rs per dollar.
    i will be verymuch thankful to u,if u could give some solution for this problem...
    thansk & regards
    sudha

    Hi
    Please check if you are transferring exchange rates maintained in R/3 to BW on daily basis or as & when change happens on R/3 side.
    If not then you can do that in RSA1->source systems-> here select your R/3 system ->right mouse click-> Transfer global settings-> in next screen put check box ON for currencies and then using update tables option button. For daily scheduling, go to top menu ->Program-> Excute in background-> here you can schedule this as daily job.
    Hope this helps

  • Translation problem in the portal screen

    Hi Experts,
    We are facing problem in the portal screen where some texts are displaying in-correct languages.
    Basically all the text should come in Chinese if we login in Chinese language, but it is coming in English
    For e.g. In Follow on Documents screen u2013 Value (filed label) is coming in English instead of Chinese,
    Similarly some Chinese text is wrongly translated.
    Help us how to do the translation or should we need to apply any OSS notes for this?
    Should we need to use translation SOTR_EDIT to do the translation?if then how to do it?
    Regards
    Paul

    Hi,
    What is the SRM version ? Please also check the language setting in your browser.
    For wrong translation, you can correct it in the translation tools like SE63.

  • Swedish language pack wrong term tranlsation

    Hi,<o:p></o:p>
    In the Swedish language package for SP 2013 server there is a wrong translation.<o:p></o:p>
    The wrong translation is the abbreviation for billions (Swedish: "miljarder"), the correct abbreviation for billions in
    Swedish is "md" and NOT "mf0". As you can see in the picture below where we have made a diagram in Power View in SharePoint 2013.<o:p></o:p>
    Best regards

    Hi Magnus,
    According to your description, mfo was displayed as the abbreviation of miljarder(billion) instead of md in the diagram after installing Swedish language pack for SharePoint 2013.
    We will help to submit the issue to proper pipeline for you.
    Again, thank you for your report which will definitely make SharePoint a better products. There might be some time delay.  Appreciate your time and patience.

  • Global Variable translated to different characters

    We recently upgraded BODS from 4.2 SP1 to 4.2 SP4. Now we are facing issues in those DataFlows where are used Hierarchy Flattering functions, that Global Variables are wrongly translated from text to weird Asian characters. E.g. varchar variable: 'abc' is transformed to '扡c'. As data source/target is used HANA. The issue is caused whenever there is any table from HANA datastore 'directly' connected to HANA (attached picture). When used ODBC connection to HANA than it works fine, but then we are loosing Bulk load options.
    Attached ATL (with .txt extenstion) has password: abc
    Versions:
    DS: 4.2 SP4
    HANA: 1.0 SP09
    HANA Client ODBC: 1.00.09 (tested also on 1.)

    Hi Vanda,
    668 is the build number. If you search the SAP Notes/KBAs for 14.2.4.668, you'll find the KBA release notes for that version. 14.2.4.668 corresponds to SP4 (patch 0).

    Hi hunter,

    This is what I do :
    String url="http://www.google.com/translate_t?hl=en&ie="+charset+"&text="+text+"&langpair="+googlelang;

    while ((input = in.readLine())!=null) {
         sb.append(input);
    // here I have the html page; already here I have the wrong or right translation, quite strange no?
    responseBody = sb.toString();
    } catch (Exception e) {
    e.printStackTrace();
    After simply I parse the html extracting the translated string.
    Any other suggestions?
    Thx again, silvio

  • Why your Spanish translations has some errors?

    Specific in two words like "to build" and "to run". You have been translated as "construir" and "correr" respectively. The first one is used for buildings, bridges, roads, etc. The second word is used for races, cars, change of position. The very technical translation for those words are "compilar" and "ejecutar", "to compile" and "to execute" respectively.
    Best regards.

  • Windows 8.1 installation problem on Lenovo G510

    Hi. I bought a new Lenovo G510 laptop. I downloaded Windows 8.1 from Microsoft DreamSpark, and burned ISO image on a DVD disc. When I try to install it on my laptop, I receive an error (it might be wrong translated):
    Load Driver
    A media driver your computer needs is missing. This could be a DVD, USB, or Hard disk driver. If you have a CD, DVD, or USB flash drive with the driver on it, please insert it now.
    Note: If the installation media for Windows in the DVD drive or on a USB drive, you can safely remove it for this step.
    I already tried changing the following options in BIOS but no effect:
    Configuration tab -> SATA Controller Mode from AHCI to Compatible
    Boot tab -> Boot Mode from UEFI to Legacy Support
    Boot tab -> Boot Priority from UEFI First to Legacy First
    Also, I tried to insert CD with drivers which was in the box, but - of course - no appropiate drivers were found.
    What happened? How am I supposed to install a Windows 8.1? What should I try? Thanks in advance for giving any clues and answers
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    hi JachuPL,
    Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
    From this microsoft article, the error that you're getting maybe caused by one of the following:
     - The installation DVD is removed during the setup process.
     - A low-quality DVD was used to create the installation DVD.
     - The speed at which the installation DVD was burned was too fast.
     - The DVD drive cannot read the media.
     - The ISO file is corrupted.
    Things that you can try:
    1. Verify that the Windows 8.1 ISO is not corrupted by comparing the MD5 / SHA1 Hash of the download file to the one from DreamSpark. To get the hash, download and install the Microsoft File Checksum Integrity Verifier and foillow this guide.
    2. Instead of using a DVD, follow this guide on how to create a bootable Windows 8.1 USB installer and use it to install Windows 8.1. (use the USB 2.0 port on the unit).
    Let me know how it goes.
