I think this happens occasionally, its not a big deal.
Your box tried again, and eventually got update 5 min later.
You may want to extend the time on this a bit to help performance... every 5 min does add some load.
Support had me set mine at 8 hours...

I have to configure SSO to access from SAP R/3 to a third-party web application through Web Server Filter.

I think everything is configured properly, but when I issue the http request from R/3 to WSF I get the following error in sapsso.log file in apache server:

It seems like there isn’t the date in the ticket issued by SAP R/3. However, I tried to configure sso between the same R/3 server and an EP and worked fine.
I also tried to decrypt the ticket issued by R/3 but I get a segmentation fault.
    Does anyone can help me?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Old Usage Controls versus new Family Base question please.

We currently have Verizons usage controls on both our kids phones at about $5.00 per month. As I understand, the new FamilyBase does the same thing and it is $5.00 to the overall account. If we upgrade to FamilyBase, do we need to cancel the older Usage Controls? Thanks.

Hello mbraun, you pose an excellent question! You will want to remove the usage controls and cancel. After that is completed you will want to add the FamilyBase feature to take advantage of the extra functions. View details on FamilyBase here: http://vz.to/1jYUTsW

  • IronPort Web usage controls

Please help me in this confusion. My Client wants a IronPort Web Usage Controls for his two devices below:

We as partners provided our client with the WBUN‐2A‐GV‐D‐1Y ‐ Dual S160‐Series Appliance, 1 Year IronPort WUC, 1 Year Platinum Support ‐ 250 users
The question is my client wants a qoute for the WEB USAGE CONTROLS. The local reseller in my country says the web usage control is already in the bundle we provided him ?
How do we get the web usage control software or is it already in the bundle ? If its not in the bundle How do we purchase it ?
    Thanks

    Hi Talal,

  • URL filtering replacing with web usage control

I come to know the URL filtering in ironport is replacing with the advanced web usage control. May i know from which version its introducing? Any upgradation procedure?
What are the changes will take place after the upgradation & what kind of functionality will be available with Web Usage Control.
    Please clarify in detail.
    Thanks in advance
    Siva

I don't remember when the web Usage controls was introduced... I'm going to guess 7.0?
To upgrade your box to the the current version, click on System Administration>System Upgrade.  Click on the Available Upgrades and see what's available for your hardware.  If nothing is there, contact your reseller.
Review the release notes for the version you want to upgrade to.  http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps10164/prod_release_notes_list.html
Select the version you want, check the box to save the config, you can also have it email you the config.  Make sure to uncheck the "Mask passwords..." so that if you have to reload this config on something, it works properly.
There are a huge number of changes in how web usage control works, and the visibility it gives you into what apps users are using and how those applications work.  Far to many to go into here.  Look at this document:

  • SSL certificates and Web Services Usage inside Oracle Database Questions!

We have implemented a specific business logic using PL/SQL for our client, so we open a file and process each line of this, doing something in the Database and also call a Web Services (Service1) using UTL_HTTP package. Service1 runs in a Windows 2008 Server in the DMZ as Database server.
Service1 is already working, and we can call the service from PL/SQL without troubles.
However, according with security client's policies they requires all Web services be consumed via https including Service1, so we must to follow the procedure established for Oracle in order to enable the calling of service1 via https from the Database.
Our client's DBA and IT Team are concerned about two subjects before to continue to follow the certificate installation:
         - SSL Certificates:
1- Can installed certificates in the Database put in risk the stability of the database?
2- Can installed certificates in the Database generate performance issues?
3- Can installed certificates reloading the Databases?
2- Can installed certificates in the Database generate security issues?
         - Web services:
1- Can web services calling from the Database put in risk the stability of the database?
2- Can web services calling from the Database generate performance issues?
3- Can web services calling from the Database generate security issues in the DMZ?
Could you please give us any clues, about the possible negative impact related with the SSL certificates and Web Services Usage inside Oracle Database, if it’s the case this impact exists?.
Those are the links describing the procedure mentioned above.
    1 -http://www.kotti.es/2009/11/oracle-wallet/
    DB: Oracle 9i.
Average number of lines in file: 300
    Periodicity: Twice at day.

    Thiago:
You are correct in that there should be no problem interacting with a Web service that has an HTTPS endpoint as long as you create a wallet and specify it when you make your UTL_HTTP calls, like the PayPal example.
I am not aware of a PL/SQL utility to create a XMLDsig Standard message, but if you find some Java source out there that does it, you may be able to follow a technique I used for a similar use case:

  • Connection problems with ESA C160 and WSA S160

currently I have deployed ESA C160 and WSA S160 devices in a network but I cannot remotely connect to the devices.
I have installed Cisco 2811 Terminal server with octal cable connections and cannot seem to get terminal access.
As well I have connected the Management Interface to a local switch and provisioned VLANs on subnet 192.168.42.X to allow for access but no connection seems to work to gain access to the devices.
I am wondering if there is a specific cable configuration or connection which will allow me access to the applicances for configuration.
    Any help is appreciated!

    HI
Are you attempting a remote connection to the serial ports via 2811? I may be missunderstanding your post.
The serial ports are 9600 Baud 8N1.  Typically you will use a null modem cable for the connection.
For the network you should be able to connect to the manamgement interface  SSH and HTTPS should be enabled by default. If you connect directly to this port using a crossover cable can you establish a connection?
If the network connection is failing I would first start with the serial port so you can verify that the configuration is as you expect it to be, meaning the IP address and services enabled. If everything checks out in the configuration. I would next test using a crossover cable on the same subnet. If that works then I would connect the appliance to a switch and test from there. The biggest questions that come up are can you route to the appliance over the network and can you resolve the host over the network.

  • Web application, control and monitoring

    Good moorning!
I'm developping a web application, to control and monitor several instruments, Fieldpoint and GPIB. I haven't found any problems yet (I'm not asking for help ), but I'd like to hear your experience in this field. I've just created a website (an ugly website, I recognize). And I'm learning how to open front panels on the web, and changing from one to another.
Do you have active websites with visible front panels from the web? Do they have public access?
    Thank you in advance!

  • Available browsers and their % of usage among all web users

Recently I saw a display (was it a pie chart?) of all of the available browsers and Adobe's take on their percent of usage by all web users.
I thought it was somewhere in BrowserLab - does anyone know what I'm talking about?

I found it - it's at SiteCatalyst NetAverages, not BrowserLab. Sorry for spreading my confusion.

  • A "Web Reputation Filters" key was downloadedfrom the Cisco Ironport key server.....

Recently we received an alert from our Ironport S370 appliance indicating that a new Web Reputation Filters key had been downloaded and placed into the pebnding area: EULA acceptance required. This key shows a 256 days validity however our current key still has 250 days left on it..... Why would a new key be downloaded when the old one still has so much time left on it? My undestanding is that a key is just used to enable a feature but being that the feature is already enabled and has several months of validity why would a new key be needed? I find it a little strange.
    Thanks

When Web Reputation Filters (WBRS) expired, all web sites that accessed using WSA as Web proxy will not get any reputation score and the filtering in WSA policies based on reputation score will not function therefore if for example accessing web site that has bad reputation score and should be blocked automatically by WSA when WBRS in functioning will not happened and all sites will be accessible without reputation score filtering (expose threats and strongly recommend to validate the feature keys).

  • Usage Controls

I have been a business customer of Verizon Wireless for many years. I also switched my wife over to Verizon about 18 months ago. We are now considering adding a phone for our 13 year old who is entering Jr High in the fall. Initially, we thought that we would be able to do this by adding a phone to our family plan and enabling the usage controls to manage his voice and text usage. Fortunately, I took the time to read the fine print on this $4.99 "service" as well as the nightmare experiences of many other customers before adding a new 2 year contract to our service and will NOT be adding a line to our account for any of our children until Verizon offers a more effective set of usage controls.
From reading the comments of other customers, it is very clear that we are not the only ones who consider the ability to regulate the phone usage of our kids to be a requirement. I have seen a lot of complaints about the shortcomings of the current usage controls, but I don't think I have seen anyone really lay out what they expect, so I will do so here.
As a responsible parent, this is what I expect the usage controls to allow me to do:
    1) Set AND ENFORCE limits on the number of minutes of phone usage. At minimum I would expect this to be a monthly amount, but a weekly or daily amount would be much better. By enforce, this means that that phone should AUTOMATICALLY stop allowing incoming or outgoing calls when the limit is reached - regardless of the plan or whether it is an in-network or out-of-network call. The only exceptions should be 911 and trusted numbers that we have added to the line. 20 or so trusted numbers should be sufficient. The current approach of notifying the account holder when the limit is reached but then allowing calls to continue is clearly designed only to enrich Verizon's pocketbook rather than allow parents any real control on the usage.
    2) Set AND ENFORCE limits on the number of text messages sent and/or received. As with the voice minutes, I would expect at minimum for this to be a monthly amount, but weekly or daily limits would be much better. Again, by enforce this means that the phone should AUTOMATICALLY stop allowing sending or receiving of text messages when the limit is reached - regardless of the plan or whether it is an in-network or out-of-network message. I should be able to control whether numbers on the trusted list are also trusted for text messages after the limit is reached.
    3) Set AND ENFORCE limits on the time of day when the phone is used for calls, text messages, and/or data. This schedule needs to be flexible enough to allow variations by day of the week and time of day. For example, a typical schedule might look like block all calls from 10pm-7am 7 days a week; block all calls from 9am-3pm M- F and block all calls from 6-7 pm M-F. By enforce, I mean that, all calls and or texts should be blocked during the restricted times - regardless of the plan or whether it is in-network or out-of-network. In addition, this includes dropping calls in progress when the restricted time is entered. Calls and or texts to and from trusted numbers should be excepted.
I am not a cellular network engineer, but I have worked with phones and phone networks long enough to be highly confident that these things can be accomplished with the current technology. In fact most of them are already available in one form or another to the carriers. For instance, Verizon has no problem in stopping a phone on a pre-paid plan from making or receiving calls or sending and receiving text messages when their allowance is reached. Nor do they have any problem in allowing that same phone to make or receive calls or send or receive text messages from Verizon wireless (i.e.. trusted numbers) even after the limit is reached.
My need here AS A PARENT is not only to ensure that my child is using their phone in a way that does not interfere with their education, growth and development, but also to help them learn to responsibly manage their usage.
My need here AS THE ACCOUNT OWNER is to ensure that my child does not engage in usage that will result in excessive charges and require me to terminate their use.
I would like it if these features were available at no additional charge, but I would not be opposed to paying a small (i.e.. less than $5) additional monthly fee to add them to selected lines.
I'm sure that there will be some individuals who will argue that I am trying to impose un-reasonable limits on how my children use 'their' phone. They are of course entitled to their opinion and may raise their children as they see fit so I won't waste my time arguing with them. I on the other hand do not choose to abdicate my responsibility as a parent and consider this to be a vital part of that responsibility. I consider this technology to be a valuable resource and wish to allow my children to use it to its maximum potential within the limits I, as their parent, believe are necessary for their safe growth and development.
I don't know how closely Verizon monitors these forums, but I hope they take note of my comments as I will NOT be adding a line to our plan for any of our kids until features that meet our requirements are in place. I would also hope that other parents - especially those who have been considering adding a line to their plan for their kids - would add their comments here. Perhaps if we make enough noise - both online and with our checkbooks -  someone at Verizon will wake up to the fact that we need some real usage controls.

    @Kevin
The new upgraded usage controls do just what you ask, go have a look. They added voice call stops last week.
so the time restrictions and limit controls will now function as you desired:

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — The end of the school year means more time for vacationing students to send and receive text messages, surf the mobile Web, play mobile games and make calls on their cell phones. But, with a few easy tips and tools from Verizon Wireless, it doesn’t have to mean unexpected higher bills for their parents.
Monitor and track your family’s wireless usage – Don’t wait for your monthly statement to see how many messages your children are sending – check the numbers anytime through My Verizon. Available online and on Verizon Wireless handsets, My Verizon provides 24/7 access to all billing, payment and account-related information, including usage amounts.
Not near a computer or just want to get a quick idea of what your family’s usage has been? You can always get up-to-the-minute usage information on your phone by dialing #646 (or #MIN) [Send] to receive a free text message with current airtime usage.
Block it before they purchase it – Prevent potentially unwanted purchases of data products, including ringtones, ringback tones, games and applications, by putting a block on the account. Various blocks are available at no charge and can be set through My Verizon.
My Verizon is available to all Verizon Wireless customers at no cost. Find My Verizon online at www.verizonwireless.com/myverizon.
Verizon Wireless also offers Usage Controls to help parents manage and monitor different aspects of their children’s wireless use. Usage Controls are available on most handsets at a monthly cost of $4.99 per line.  Features include the ability to:
Set voice and messaging allowances – No need to exceed your plan minutes or texts just because your daughter likes to use her phone. Usage Allowances allow you to set limits for voice minutes and text messages that can be used during a billing cycle. If the limit is exceeded, the account owner will be notified.
Sign up to receive free text alerts when a family member nears or reaches their limit – You’ve set voice and messaging allowances for your kids; now make sure they don’t go over them. Receive a text alert before and when the limits are reached, so you can take action before any overage charges kick in.
Designate specific times of the day when family members can call, message or use data on their cell phones – While you’re at the office, you don’t want to waste time worrying that your son is using his phone all day. So don’t! Limit and control your child’s use of his cell phone during a certain time of day or day of week using Time Restrictions.
Create lists of blocked phone numbers to prevent unwanted calls and text messages from being sent or received – If a certain number becomes a problem, block it. Blocked Numbers in Usage Controls are phone numbers that are restricted from calling or messaging your child and from receiving calls and messages from your child at any time. You can also designate trusted numbers so calls and messages can get through to your child, and 911 will always work.
Customers can sign up for and update Usage Controls through My Verizon. For more information on Usage Controls, visit www.verizonwireless.com/usagecontrols.
