WSRP Support Kit for WebLogic Platform 8.1 SP2
The WSRP Support Kit for WebLogic Platform SP2 has just been released at
http://dev2dev.bea.com/products/wlportal81/articles/wsrp_support_kit.jsp.
Please note that this is a preview release, and requires WebLogic
Platform 8.1 SP2.
Regards,
Subbu
There is a release planned for mid Summer, but it is too early to confirm.
In case you must add WSRP support to apps in platform domain, you can do
so manually, and here are the steps.
- Create a platform domain before installing WSRP Support Kit.
- Create a portal domain after installing WSRP Support Kit.
- Replace <Security> element in config.xml in the platform domain with
the one from portal domain.
- Add wsrp-common.jar file to the system classpath for the platform domain.
Let me know if this helps.

Supporting JDK for weblogic 12.1.2.0
Hi,
We have installed weblogic 12.1.2.0 with RHEL 5.6 and oracle hotspot JDK 1.7_15.
We are running the server side applications in "Production Mode", my doubt is whether the above mentioned JDK is recommended to run the server in Production Mode. I didn't found any
suitable JRockit JDK for this weblogic 12.1.2.0 release. Please provide any information regarding this.
Regards,
Ananda Krishnan SHello Ananda,
Though MOS Certification tab shows that JRockit 6u33 R28.2.4+ is certified to run with WLS 12c(12.1.2.0) on RedHat Linux5, I do NOT encourage you to go for that in your PROD environment for the following notes:
1. Oracle JRockit Not Supported For Execution of WebLogic Server 12.1.2 Server Applications:
http://docs.oracle.com/middleware/1212/wls/WLSRN/issues.htm#BCFBDIEG
2. JRF Domains Do Not Support JRockit in 12.1.2:
http://docs.oracle.com/middleware/1212/core/RNINF/upgrade.htm
3. The same info can be verified downloading the following file inclided in "Oracle Fusion Middleware Supported System Configurations" OTN page:
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/fusion-middleware/documentation/fmw-1212certmatrix-1970069.xls
All the above notes tells/clarifies the same info:
In Oracle Fusion Middleware 12.1.2. JRockit is supported only for WebLogic Server client-side applications, but not for execution of WLS server applications.
Hope that helps,

Workshop IDE for WebLogic Platform - JSF Portlet Development
Hello,
I am trying to develop JSF based portlets using BEA Workshop for WebLogic Platform IDE. The capabilities of the IDE in terms of JSF is like a simple text editor. Since the IDE is eclipse based, I wanted to to use some Third Party Plugin for JSF development.
I evaluated the following:
1. Workshop Studio for JSF
2. MyEclipse PlugIn for JSF
Problem 1:
Workshop Studio for JSF is a separate product and cannot be installed as an plugin over the Workshop IDE.
Is this acheivable?
Problem 2:
I created a Portal application Workspace through Workshop for Platform and opened the same using Workshop Studio for JSF. It crashed saying some runtime exceptions.
Problem 3:
MyEclipse PlugIn for JSF doesnt integrate properly with Workshop IDE. The Faces navigational flow view is not working properly.
Questions:
1. What is BEA's recommendation for JSF development?
2. Can you guide me how other developers are using the IDE for JSF development?
Thanks and regards,
Pazhanikanthan. PHi Pazhanikanthan,
Unfortunately, in the current release the JSF features cannot be used to create JSF portlets.
Please check the following URL for additional information on JSF portlet creation
http://e-docs.bea.com/wlp/docs92/portlets/building.html#wp1062147
If you are planning on building JSF web applications, you can always evaluate and purchase a copy of Workshop for JSF or Workshop Studio.
if you are planning on building JSF based pportlets, you will need to sue the tooling provided by Workshop for WebLogic 9.2
Applications built in Workshop for WebLogic cannot be imported into Workshop Studio. On the other hand, you can always create a webapp in Workshop Studio,a nd then import it into Workshop for WebLogic as a component.
hope this helps.
cheers
Raj
If you have additional questions specific to portlet development, please post to the portal newsgroup at http://newsgroups.bea.com/bea/forum.jspa?forumID=2044 -
Where You can create a support case for weblogic server?
Hi all,
I would like to know where I can create a support case for weblogic server?
I logged me in metalink3 but I did not found a way to create a service request for WLS.
Thanks in Advance.I believe you still need to use BEA's support resources at this point: http://www.oracle.com/bea/support.html

Weblogic Platform 8.1 SP2 on Debian
I've downloaded platform812_linux32.bin. When I run it I get:
$ file platform812_linux32.bin
platform812_linux32.bin: ELF 32-bit LSB executable, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), for GNU/Linux 2.0.0, dynamically linked (uses shared libs), stripped
$ ./platform812_linux32.bin
bash: ./platform812_linux32.bin: Permission denied
$
Help.
Steve.Ok. Now I've downloaded and installed pj_server811_generic.jar and it installs
fine my Debian system. Problems are threefold though:
1. There doesn't seem to be a 8.1 SP2 release for the "Java" platform. Where is
pj_server811_generic.jar?
Why don't you guys make "Java" a platform option when selecting a download.
I had to select an unpopular platform to find the "Java" platform release.
2. The pj_server811_generic.jar does not include WL Integration or WL Portal.
Will there be a SP2 soon for the "Java" platform that will include Integration
and Portal?
3. After installing. I ran up Workshop 8.1 (from quickstart). The application
SampleApp does not compile. Is this intended? See build log below.

Possible to create a JAX-WS, session-bean-based webservice for WebLogic 10?
All,
sorry - but I'm going a bit crazy here. I have been unable to figure out the secret hand-shakes for developing a session-bean-based web service that will run properly under Weblogic 10.0. There are examples out there on how to create webservices that exists within a war file - but none that I can find that reside within a session bean (an ear file).
I can't even figure out how to do with this Bea Workshop for WebLogic Platform 10.0! Is this possible? I can't find any examples anywhere on how to do this. I must be missing something...
Does WebLogic 10.0 support web services within session beans? I've figured out how to do this with JBoss, Sun App Server, and Glassfish - but no luck so far with WebLogic.
If anyone can please point me in the proper direction it would be very appreciated. My company likes WebLogic, but we have to be able to do this in order to continue using it.
Thanks,
-johnYeah - I've tried that. Everything builds fine - but when I deploy to WebLogic 10, I get the stack below. It looks like it is looking for the class examples.webservices.jaxws.jaxws.SayHello - but there isn't such a class in the example...
Any thoughts? I'm completely stuck!

Weblogic platform 8.1.4
Where can I find installation for weblogic platform 8.1.4?
All the easy to get WebLogic server version are listed here: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/ias/downloads/wls-main-097127.html
When you need other versions, you have to contact support and see if you can get it through those channels. -
SmartUpdate error when downgrading 8.1 Platform SP3 to SP2
On Windows Xp I have installed WebLogic Platform 8.1 SP2. I used SmartUpdate to upgrade from SP2 to SP3, and the installation was successful. Without making a single change to the SP3 installation, I decided to test the SmartUpdate downgrade feature. When I select "Service Pack 2) from the downgrade options list and click OK, I get the following error message. Makes no sense to me at all. The directory specified in the error message is simply the uninstall directory for platform. The directory does not have any read/write restrictions either.

Thanks,OK, so I'm replying to my own post :-)
Well, it appears that my issue was related to the OS on which I am running platform. In my case, Windows Xp SP1, which is not supported (Xp SP3 is supported)
I ran SmartUpdate on Windows 2000 Terminal, and all worked fine.
Thanks for the help, self! :-P -

Issue regarding supported platforms manual for BO XI 3.1 sp2
In supported platforms manual for BO XI 3.1 sp2 windows there is a note on page 7 for specific patch level for OAS 10gR3 u201CPlease see release notes on the minimum version supported for Dashboard and Analytics.u201D We try to find on release notes (BOXI 3.1 & BOXI 3.1 sp2) for the exact patch level but there aren't any suggestions.
Could you please inform about the exact patch level that is needed on OAS 10gR3.Hello,
Many thanks you for your answer.
Sorry to insist. It is not really clear in the SAP documentation about the minimum level of SAP NetWeaver BI 7.1 required
for installing "Business Objects XI 3.1 SP2 Integration kit for SAPSolutions.
Could you please find out (and provide me them) :
- The minimum BI 7.01 patch level for installing Business Objects XI
3.1 SP0 Integration kit for SAP Solutions (initial installation
package).
- The minimum BI 7.01 patch level for installing Business Objects XI
3.1 SP2 Integration kit for SAP Solutions
Thanks in advance

Oracle support for Weblogic 7 under LINUX
Hi,
Does anyone know what happened to oracle support in weblogic 7.0 for linux platform,
as it seems that the drivers are not included? Are there any discussions on that
topic anywhere?
thanks.
ZlatkoIt DOES appear that there is support for WebLogic jDriver for Oracle on Linux:
see http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/certifications/certifications/redhat_linux.html#39532
The strange thing here is that, apparently, the Oracle drivers located @ lib/linux/i686/oci817_8/libweblogicoci38.so
and lib/linux/i686/oci817_8/libweblogicoxa38.so are "Type 2" ODBC drivers which
require an Oracle client to be installed on the WebLogic machine, but Oracle doesn't
support installation of the client on RedHat 7.2, which is required (according
BEA's doc) for installation of WebLogic 7.0. Can someone reconcile this apparent
conflict?

Why FAN is only supported for Exalogic platform? Is this intended to include it in x86 platform?
Hi,
FAN support along with all of the RAC support enhancements in Tuxedo 12.1.3 are licensed as part of the Exalogic Elastic Cloud Software which is included with Exalogic and SuperCluster systems.

Requesting links for Weblogic Server 8.1 (sp5) binaries for all platforms.
This might seem like a brazen request, but could someone provide me a link for Weblogic 8.1 (sp5) binaries. . .It seems unreasonable to spend $2,000 just to download a product version no longer supported by Oracle. The fact of the matter is that my client and my client's third-party staging server deploys their application in Weblogic 8.1 (sp5); believe me, if I had the authority and range of control to update my client's staging server and production server I would.
Regards,
Chuck

Ok, I found a majority of Weblogic's 8.1 (sp6) links. . .do you think developing on sp6 and deploying to sp5 will cause some issues? I'm supposing it won't and while the client has yet to deliver the application, the app server, documentation, or any other required materials, I'd at least like to get an environment that is compliant with their staging server's environment before-hand.

If anyone thinks that I will need to acquire a license for running (a sanboxed) version of Weblogic please let me know so I can inform my employer accordingly. If MQ V5 clients cannot interoperate with MQ V7 servers, then perhaps MQ V6 clients support the 1.4 JVM? If so, I suppose you can use an MQ V6 client to communicate with V7.
Alternatively, perhaps MQ's "extended transactional client" provides more flexibility in interoperability than the client you're using.

What is the supported version of Oracle Enterprise Quality Data for WebLogic 12c
Hi All,
The recent release of Oracle Enterprise Data Quality is 11.1.1.6.1 for which supported weblogic server is WebLogic 10.3.6
Can anyone tell me that if WebLogic 12c also is a supported version for Oracle Enterprise Data Quality 11.1.1.6.1 and if no, then which version of Oracle Enterprise Data Quality is supported on WebLogic 12c (12.1.2)
Its really urgent.Please guide!
Thanks in Advance!Hi,
Thanks But I already followed this link and I forgot to mention that I am looking for the supported version of Oracle Enterprise Data Quality for Product Data for Oracle WebLogic 12.1.2. In the certification matrix of Oracle Enterprise Data Quality for Product Data 11g it is listed that the supported weblogic version is 10.3.6. So I wanted to know which version of Oracle Enterprise Data Quality for Product Data would support weblogic 12.1.2 or if Oracle Enterprise Data Quality for Product Data 11g is supported on weblogic 12.1.2 also.
I checked the certfication matrix for Oracle Enterprise Data Quality for Product Data 11g from Oracle Fusion Middleware Supported System Configurations link only.
Please suggest!
