Supporting JDK for weblogic 12.1.2.0

Hi,
We have installed weblogic 12.1.2.0 with RHEL 5.6 and oracle hotspot JDK 1.7_15.
We are running the server side applications in "Production Mode", my doubt is whether the above mentioned JDK is recommended to run the server in Production Mode.  I didn't found any
suitable JRockit JDK for this weblogic 12.1.2.0 release.  Please provide any information regarding this.
Regards,
Ananda Krishnan S

Hello Ananda,
Though MOS Certification tab shows that JRockit 6u33 R28.2.4+ is certified to run with WLS 12c(12.1.2.0) on RedHat Linux5, I do NOT encourage you to go for that in your PROD environment for the following notes:
1. Oracle JRockit Not Supported For Execution of WebLogic Server 12.1.2 Server Applications:
http://docs.oracle.com/middleware/1212/wls/WLSRN/issues.htm#BCFBDIEG
2. JRF Domains Do Not Support JRockit in 12.1.2:
http://docs.oracle.com/middleware/1212/core/RNINF/upgrade.htm
3. The same info can be verified downloading the following file inclided in "Oracle Fusion Middleware Supported System Configurations" OTN page:
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/fusion-middleware/documentation/fmw-1212certmatrix-1970069.xls
All the above notes tells/clarifies the same info:
In Oracle Fusion Middleware 12.1.2. JRockit is supported only for WebLogic Server client-side applications, but not for execution of WLS server applications.
Hope that helps,
Murad

  • WSRP Support Kit for WebLogic Platform 8.1 SP2

The WSRP Support Kit for WebLogic Platform SP2 has just been released at
    http://dev2dev.bea.com/products/wlportal81/articles/wsrp_support_kit.jsp.
Please note that this is a preview release, and requires WebLogic
    Platform 8.1 SP2.
    Regards,
    Subbu

There is a release planned for mid Summer, but it is too early to confirm.
In case you must add WSRP support to apps in platform domain, you can do
so manually, and here are the steps.
    - Create a platform domain before installing WSRP Support Kit.
    - Create a portal domain after installing WSRP Support Kit.
    - Replace <Security> element in config.xml in the platform domain with
    the one from portal domain.
    - Add wsrp-common.jar file to the system classpath for the platform domain.
Let me know if this helps.

  • Where You can create a support case for weblogic server?

    Hi all,
I would like to know where I can create a support case for weblogic server?
I logged me in metalink3 but I did not found a way to create a service request for WLS.
    Thanks in Advance.

I believe you still need to use BEA's support resources at this point: http://www.oracle.com/bea/support.html

  • 8.3 SP1 tested configuration JDK for WebLogic Server (App Server)

The base 8.3 had JRockit JDK as well as Sun JDK as a tested configuration.
Later 8.3 SP1 only has Sun JDK as a tested configuration.
Can anyone comment on this. If I decide to deploy 8.3 SP1 with the latest hotfix available should I just use the tested Sun JDK for the app server?

JRockit JDK is supported with P6 EPPM 8.3 SP1 and any latest hotfix. The tested configuration for SP1 and above is an indication that additional certification of latest JDK has been done. It does not necessarily mean you need to upgrade to it although recommended. Review the SP1 patch readme for more information.

  • Bundled JDK versus own JDK for Weblogic 10.3.5

What difference does it makes if I do not select the JDK that comes bundled with Oracle Weblogic server 10.3.5.
The JDK bundled with Oracle 10.3.5 is 1.6.0_24.
However if i select the JDk that is installed on my system (C:/ProgramFiles/Java/jdk1.6.0_27.
Also for the production environment ,What difference does it make if I select jrocket or Sun during installation.
Does this choice make a difference in performance and other features.
I am doing an upgrade from 9.1 to 10.3.5
9.1 uses the JDK that comes bundled with bea i.e jrocket1.5_04 but with 10.3.5 I am using JDk installed on my computer (Sun Java 1.6.0_27)
    Will this affect my application?
    Thanks

    Hi
Weblogic do NOT force or restricts to use JDK that is bundled with it. Absolutely Not. You can use any JDK (Sun or JRockit) from any location (other then bundled location which is inside middleware home). Infact if you have 64 Bit Machines (windows or linux), you are expected to manually first download 64 bit JDK (Sun or JRockit) and put this in PATH. Then you download and install Weblogic Server Generic Installer (wls1035_generic.jar) using a .JAR installer. And this do NOT install any JDK. But refers to the jdk that you installed. Bascially you use command like java -jar -d64 wls1035_generic.jar to install.
Anyhow, the point is, this JDK location is stored in the domain/bin/setDomainEnv.cmd (.sh) file. So when you create a Domain, at one point, you always have option to use any JDK by hitting browse button and selecting that jdk home. Even after domain created also, still you can switch to any JDK at anytime by just editing the setDomainEnv file for the JAVA_HOME location.
Now, there is no hard code rule to use either Sun or JRockit in Development or Production. Many customers do lot of testing and then go with one jdk. General theory is JRockit (BEAs proprietory JDK, bought from Sweden) gives better performance. But personally unless you do full testing and do all proper tuning at server level, env level, os level, then conclude which jdk is better to use.
Finally, if you are upgrading your existing 9.1 app to 10.x domain, that uses different JDK, it should still work. But make sure that you compile your old application with this new jdk, to avoid any incompatible class signature issues. Older versions of jdk compiled should work on higher new versions of jdk, but still I would prefer to recompile everything with the JDK version that is going to be on the Domain side.
    Thanks

  • Please provide a link to download Oracle JRockit 27.6.4 for Weblogic 10.3.1

    Folks,
Hello. I am installing PeopleTools 8.50 and its PIA according to the document
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/deploy/security/critical-patch-updates/cpujul2009.html
After install Weblogic 10.3.1, we need to upgrade JDK for Weblogic 10.3.1 according to Task 2-1-7 on Page 63.
I cannot download Oracle JRockit 27.6.4 on https://metalink.oracle.com because of no ID number.
    I cannot find JRockit 27.6.4 on http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/jrockit/downloads/index.html
Can any folks provide a link to download Oracle JRockit 27.6.4 to upgrade JDK for Weblogic 10.3.1 ?
If not, can any folks tell me other way to upgrade JDK for Weblogic 10.3.1 ?

    Folks,
    Hello.
For PeopleTools 8.51, if cannot download JRockit 27.6.5 for Weblogic 10.3.2 from Oracle Support site, we have an alternative way to download Oracle JRockit Realtime 3.1.2 or higher on http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/jrockit/downloads/index.html.
But for PeopleTools 8.50, I am not sure whether there is an alternative way to do or not.
Can any folks tell me how to upgrade JDK for Weblogic 10.3.1 in other way instead of downloading JRockit 27.6.4 ?

  • Is there service pack available for weblogic 5.1 to work with JDK 1.4 for NT Environment

Is there service pack available for weblogic 5.1 to work with JDK 1.4 for NT Environment

    Hi.
This is definitely not supported, and I don't know that any work is scheduled in the future
to support this JDK on WLS 5.1.
Having said that, I was able to start WLS 5.1sp12 with JDK 1.4 with no errors. I didn't
    exercise any features, however.

  • Oracle support for Weblogic 7 under LINUX

    Hi,
Does anyone know what happened to oracle support in weblogic 7.0 for linux platform,
as it seems that the drivers are not included? Are there any discussions on that
    topic anywhere?
    thanks.
    Zlatko

It DOES appear that there is support for WebLogic jDriver for Oracle on Linux:
    see http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/certifications/certifications/redhat_linux.html#39532
The strange thing here is that, apparently, the Oracle drivers located @ lib/linux/i686/oci817_8/libweblogicoci38.so
and lib/linux/i686/oci817_8/libweblogicoxa38.so are "Type 2" ODBC drivers which
require an Oracle client to be installed on the WebLogic machine, but Oracle doesn't
support installation of the client on RedHat 7.2, which is required (according
BEA's doc) for installation of WebLogic 7.0. Can someone reconcile this apparent
    conflict?

  • What is the supported version of Oracle Enterprise Quality Data for WebLogic 12c

    Hi All,
The recent release of Oracle Enterprise Data Quality is 11.1.1.6.1 for which supported weblogic server is WebLogic 10.3.6
Can anyone tell me that if WebLogic 12c also is a supported version for Oracle Enterprise Data Quality 11.1.1.6.1 and if no, then which version of Oracle Enterprise Data Quality is supported on WebLogic 12c (12.1.2)
    Its really urgent.Please guide!
    Thanks in Advance!

    Hi,
Thanks But I already followed this link and I forgot to mention that I am looking for the supported version of Oracle Enterprise Data Quality for Product Data for Oracle WebLogic 12.1.2. In the certification matrix of Oracle Enterprise Data Quality for Product Data 11g it is listed that the supported weblogic version is 10.3.6. So I wanted to know which version of Oracle Enterprise Data Quality for Product Data would support weblogic 12.1.2 or if Oracle Enterprise Data Quality for Product Data 11g is supported on weblogic 12.1.2 also.
I checked the certfication matrix for Oracle Enterprise Data Quality for Product Data 11g from Oracle Fusion Middleware Supported System Configurations link only.
    Please suggest!

  • OEPE support for Weblogic Portal 10.3.0?

I was referred to this forum by Konstantin:
replace Oracle Workshop for Weblogic with OEPE?
Does anyone know if Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse has tooling support for developing portlets/portals for Weblogic Portal 10.3.0?
    Kevin

Thanks for your reply, Brad. It is WLP 10.3.
Unfortunately, since other components of the Oracle stack that we use are unsupported by OEPE, OEPE isn't going to be an option for us:
    OEPE support for ODSI 10gR3?
    OEPE support for OSB 10gR3?

  • Struts support in Oracle Workshop for WebLogic Version 10.3

    Hello:
Which version of Struts does Oracle Workshop for WebLogic Version 10.3 support?
I can't get it in the Release Notes or in the tutorial http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13224_01/wlw/docs103/guide/webapplications/struts/strutsTutorial/0.intro.html.
    Thanks for any input.

    Hi,
    Currently workshop 10.3 facets will only provide struts 1.2 / 1.1 / 1.0
But we can use latest version of the struts like 1.3 also as we need to add those jar files under windows preference >> weblogic shared library.
But later we can change the Facets file and try to work with newer version of struts.
Let me know if you need any further help on this issue.
