Xbee pro 60mw wire antenna and Labview guidance needed

I have some questions regarding zigbee and labview interface. I'm currently working on a project and this is my first time using zigbee and labview.
In my project, I want to transmit data wirelessly between two zigbees where data is the output that sensors generate by reading humans body temperature and heart rate(pulse).
I want to use the labview to display the values and data in a graphical way and ultimately to a TFT display. Right now, I'm using Mega pro 2560 and XBee Pro 60mW Wire Antenna - Series 1 (802.15.4).
All the sensors are off the shelf sensors from Sparkfun and they are connected to microcontroller.
I want to know if my steps are correct.
First, I have succeeded in sensors trasmitting its output to microcontroller. Then microcontroller stores data in SD card connected to microcontroller before tramitting them to the receiver..
Second, by using X-ctu, set up some configuration between two zigbees such as baud rate.
And this is kinda where I'm stuck at. My receiver(Xbee pro) is connected to ftdi then to PC using the USB cable. My transmitter(Xbee pro), sensors and microcontroller are connected to breadboard powered by lithium ion battery.
Could you please give me some tips or steps how you would go about using the labview at this point? Do you need some code for labview and zigbee interface?
I'm sort of new to this. If you can help, I would really appreaciate it.

I got stuck in this part. Can you check out the last reply I made in this forum : https://decibel.ni.com/content/message/49209
Also, from my receiver end(xbee pro) that is connected to PC through ftdi,
I was wondering how you would go about designing the serial communication from the receiver to Labview display.
The file attached is kind of thing I want to do. I have three major sensor data to display(heart rate, body temperature, and motion speed).
I want to show them to three graphical disaplay at the same time.
Can you give me some tips on designing the labview part? and also I would really appreacite if you could give me some tip on fixing the error I first stated in another forum. Refering any related forum would be helpful. Thanks a lot.

    Hello,
I'm working on a project, and it's the first time with the CRIO and LabVIEW Combo..
Now I already purchased a couple modules. such as the DRIVVEN PFI and ESTTL module.
But now I'm stuck, I made a complete VI, ready to compile towards the CRIO but now I can't read the cranckshaft and camshaft signal into my Digital input module (must say, this is a NI9411 module , not Drivven!).
I have connected two input pins towards the ENGinsig from the EPT SubVI. but I can't get something on my PC screen or out of the PFI module.
    Could anyone help me?!
    many thanks

    Hello,
First of all thanks for your post!
I would first advise you to repost the question in a less general board.
Posting a question like this in the default "LabVIEW" will make it harder to get the right people to help you.
This board (http://forums.ni.com/t5/Real-Time-Measurement-and/bd-p/280) would for example be a more suitable candidate.
Also do not forget to include as much (relevant) information as possible in your post.
Things I have in mind are:
    - The actual code you're testing. (project and necessary files)
    - The examples your basing your code upon.
    - Which modules are placed in which slots? (a MAX Report of yoiur RT target will do the trick for this purpose)
    - Which software is installed on your own pc? (a MAX Report of your own system will be fine for this)
To create a MAX Report, please follow these steps:

  • How can I use Pro Tools with Fire Wire interface and Fire Wire external HD

If Mac Book Pro has only one Fire Wire jack and I want to use Pro Tools with an M Audio 1814 Firewire interface and an external Fire Wire HD how do I get around the fact that the Mac Book Pro has only one fire wire jack?
Pro Tools says that they DO NOT recommend using USB 2 Hard Drives as recording drives.
If I plug my External HD into the back of the 1814 it is way too slow to use, plus, I don't know why, Pro Tools is telling me that my External HD is "not a valid audio volume". It is a MAC OS Extended (Journaled) external Firewire HD (G-TECH G-DRIVE)
    Stuck...
    Message was edited by: Mezcla

You could consider getting a firewire hub or get an expresscard 34 adapter with a firewire port.
I personally use a Belkin Expresscard adapter that gives me an extra firewire port as well as two extra USB 2.0 ports.
    Good luck.

  • Arduino due and Labview wirelss serial communication using Xbee

    Hello.
I am controlling a mobile robot using the Arduino due and labview
PWM value caculated on the labview is sent to Arduino due and then Due controls the robot.
    These communicate wirelessly by xbee.
Now, I'd like to increase the communication speed between Arduino due and Labview.
but, when i set the value of the "Wait(ms)" function to below 10ms  in Labview, communication has unstability.
so please let me know how increase the communication speed.
    thank you.

Since the only thing that changed is the Launchpad, then that must be the issue.  Are you sure this device can handle more than just the 9600 baud rate?  Are you sure you are even setting the baud rate on this device?

  • LabIEW 6i Pro and LabVIEW RT 5.1

I have labview Profesisonal development system 6i and labVIEW RT5.1, how can I use RT capabilities in labview 6i? Specifically, I want to use the functionality of LVRT(5.1) with LV6i as I have valid licenses for both.

    Hello Tanveer,
LabVIEW RT Modules only work with their matching version numbers. LabVIEW RT 5.1 will only work with LabVIEW 5.1.

  • Sending AT command from xbee pro to read the data from device

I am new to serial communications using Labview.
I am having trouble with starting up the project, where I have to design the software that involves XBee pro module.
I need to send the READ command to read the data from a device. Then the software should go to the AT command mode (we enter the AT command mode by entering +++)
Then I need to read the energy level of the device by entering the command: ATED. The software should continuously read the energy level every 30 seconds, which will be displayed on the front panel.
I am not sure where to start the software from. i.e. how to enter the Read command and then the AT command.
I am hoping someone can suggest how to start this.
    Thanks  in advance.

  • Error involving Report Generation Toolkit and Labview Run Time Engine

Developed an application using LabVIEW 6.1 and LabVIEW Report Generation Toolkit for Microsoft Office 1.0.1. From there, tried to build a shared application for use with the LabVIEW Run Time Engine. The Run Time version functions properly until "New Report.vi" is called and then an error is generated, code 7, calling out "Open VI Reference in New Report.vi" could not be found. When building the application, I did include the "NI Reports Support" in the advanced installer options. The machine used for original development and application build is running Windows XP Pro and Office XP. Any suggestions??

I am having the exact same problem but with LV 6.1 and M/S WORD 2000. It appears that the "New Report.vi" is trying to open "C:\APP.DIR\Word_Open.vi" and "C:\APP.Dir\Word_Open_Document.vi" by reference. The "OFFICE 2000.TXT" says that "_exclsub.llb and _wordsub.llb must be added as support files when building an application or a dynamic link library with the application builder." I added them as Support Files and I copied them to the "C:\TESTER\" where the TESTER.EXE is and I still get ERROR 7 in "NEW REPORT.VI" at VI OPEN REFERENCE.
Do I need to make a "C:\TESTER\DATA\" sub-dir and put the support files there?
I am building on MY COMPUTER on F: Drive on a network and transporting files to the real Tester.
    I displayed my App.Property of APP.DI
R at start up and it is C:\TESTER\ ! How would my application know that "Word_Open.vi" and "Word_Open_Document.vi" are actually inside the _wordsub.llb?
    Any ideas ?

  • Report Generation Toolkit and Labview 8 ?

I currently have Labview 7.1 on my computer, and Labview 8.  I have installed the Report generation Toolkit 1.1.1, but when I try to open several of the excel and word vi's in labview 8, I get the error that "constants wired to case structures were changed to a hidden control to maintain compatibility with labview 7.1 and earlier".  And therefore the subvi's don't run.  Labview 7.1 doesn't have the toolkit installed, and I've even tried uninstalling 7.1 but nothing works.  How do I fix this?  Relinking to subvi hasn't work because it is not offered on any of the errored vi's or subvi's.  The broken wires are going into invoke node vi's, but I don't know how to fix them.  It doesn't allow me to rewire them.

If you dont want to use it in LabView 7.1, Just make a mass compile with LabView8.0 on the directory of you package.
It could solve a lots of that kind of problem.
Be sure that you do net need it with your previous version.

  • Soundtrack Pro freezes on save and export after upgrading to 10.6

After an eternity, I knew it was time to upgrade my OS. I did so about a week ago. This week, I went to use Soundtrack Pro. It opens, and seems to function normally, but when I click either save or export, the glorious rainbow deathwheel appears. I don't know that this is directly related to the upgrade, but that's the only thing I've done that I think could have affected it.
I'm thinking of pulling another upgrade, but with it not working at present, I'm doubtful that an upgrade could "fix" anything that a previous upgrade broke.
Any idea what I can do?
    Thanks.

Same problem (with Soundtrack Pro 3.0.1).  Attempting to export to MP3.  Did it successfully as recently as a week ago.  Don't recall any major update in the OS since then.  Followed the guidelines above with no success because (according to my computer) the .pkg file downloaded from Apple seems to be corrupted.  Any guidance?
    Thanks!

My macbook pro's charger has broken at the neck, right under the magnetic part that attaches to the computer. The wire inside is not frayed. It seems to have come apart.
I have only had my macbook pro for 5 months and did not expect to happen.
Also, I have read a lot of similar complaints on this forum.
The technical support team here in India is not proving to be very helpful and my work is suffering a lot as a result of this sudden damage.
Considering my product is still under warranty, can I expect a replacement asap?
A prompt reply would be highly appreciated.

Should not have any problem. Take it to an Apple store or call Aplle support to get a replacement.

  • 1-wire temperature in LabView

    Hi
I'm trying to write a driver for 1-wire (www.ibutton.com) to LabView.
For starters I didn't have any contact at all! But now I can read the uniqe ID from temperature sensors connected to both my USB and my RS232 adapter.
    And then the fun stops.
I can not communicate with the temperature chips (DS1920 & DS1822) I can't even get the IsTemperatureContainer to reply with a true.
Does anyone have the time to review my code and maybe suggest changes?
You can request a free samlpe at www.ibutton.com I recomend getting a DS1920 and a DS9490B for testing purposes, order sampels from here: http://www.maxim-ic.com/samplescart.cfm
You need to have the OWAPI installed (http://db.maxim-ic.com/ibutton/example/)......
But if you know a better way or can use one of the other API's please let me know. I just need to read the temperature, how it's done is not important (except it has to be done with LabView).
Please help, this is very urgent.
    J;-)

I am trying to do the same with DS18S20.
    I plan on using a DS2480 to convert 1-Wire to RS232.
I need to use simple ASCII commands which I plan to write a Automated test program in LabVIEW.
    Should I get HA7E is a RS232 to 1-Wire interface? or can HA2 - RS232 1-Wire Host Adapter do the same function?
I have a DS1820 I need to use the CRC algorithm Specified by Dallas and
    perform the following Tests:
Read 64 bit ROM of DS18S20, Resultant byte from CRC algorithm must match
the eight (last) byte of ROM.
Read 72 bit Scratchpad of DS18S20, Resultant byte from CRC algorithm must
match the ninth (last) byte of Scratchpad.
    Next, I have to:
TH byte is downloaded from E2 memory to scratchpad. TH byte in scratchpad
    is read.
TL byte is downloaded from E2 memory to scratchpad. TL byte in scratchpad
    is read.
Finally, I need to read Temperature, which is read via data in
    bytes 0,1,6 & 7 of the Scratchpad.
Can I accomplish this by MANUALLY typing the commands over the RS-232 Comm
    Port from a PC?????
If anyone has any comments or am I taking the correct path? your help appreciated.
    Thanks
