Xcode keeps asking in a loop for authorisation on startup asking "Install additional required components?"

On OS X 10.10.1 and with Xcode 6.1.1 on Xcode startup, I am presented with the following dialog box:
If I select "Quit" Xcode quits.
If I select "Install" I'm presented with dialog "Xcode wants to make changes. Type your password to allow this." When I put in my password, I'm left with the original dialog above. It is an endless loop that prevents me using Xcode.
id -p returns "groups staff com.apple.sharepoint.group.1 everyone local accounts _appserverusr admin _appserveradm _lpadmin _appstore _lpoperator _developer com.apple.access_screensharing com.apple.access_ssh"
[MM-laptop]~$xcode-select -p
/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer
Has anyone encountered this and solved it?

Dear mickmiod,
My system (10.10.1) shows exactly the same behaviour after removing Xcode 6.1 and replacing by the latest 6.2 Beta4. I had the problem before and solved it then by reverting to an older version of Xcode; this is not an option now.
Tried all the usual (e.g., restart, reinstall Xcode, set new path with code-select, etc). Since the setup remains unfinished, Xcode cannot be used anymore on the system (I use it on a server as builder/integrator).
Best regards.

  • My iphone 5 keeps asking me activation required

I live in Michigan and went to Canada for the weekend at Windsor Casino.
While there, my iphone 5 stopped working and showed the following on the screen:
    ! Activation Required
I had to put in my icloud login and password to use my phone.
This has happened 6 times since returning to the states.
T-mobile replaced the SIM card, but it's still happening.
T-Mobile rep said I needed a new phone.
    Not an option.
I've upgraded to the latest version and am waiting to see if it happens again.

I traveled to the U.S. east coast from the west and I had the same problem.  It would go into activation required every 5-10 mins.  I tried all the iCloud tricks and reset, restore, hard reset to bare phone and none of it worked.  I think I finally figured out a workaround.  I'm on Verizon and I turned off cellular data.  I have access to wifi at the time so I used that for data.  It worked for a few hours and then I had to go somewhere.  I enabled cellular, but disabled LTE.  Its been good so far and its been half a day now without activation required.
Try it out and let me know if this works for you too.

  • What to prepare for if an XP full install is required

For reasons too lengthy to describe it looks like I'm going
to have to do a full install of XP on my laptop after running for
3-4 years. Lots of apps to reinstall.
Are there things I should be aware of that I'm going to have
to deal with (other than an install) for Studio 8 or CS2?

  • My iMac is authorised to play iTunes content, but my Apple TV keeps asking for me to authorise. I am unable to view content from my iTunes Library. How can I convince my Apple TV that I am authorised?

My iMac is authorised to play iTunes content, but my Apple TV keeps asking for me to authorise and I am unable to view content from my iTunes Library. How can I convince my Apple TV that I am authorised?

I am not exactly sure what you mean by "authorised", but I am experiencing a similar problem...or the same, in that Apple TV keeps telling me to enable home sharing in my MacBook Pro. It does not seem to recognize that home sharing is already enabled on my Laptop.
Is home sharing and "authorised" one in the same? It used to work just fine before these recent Apple TV updates.

  • HT6114 my hot mail account will not let me access it keeps asking for password but won't authorise it?

my hotmail account will not open. keeps asking for password but will not accept the password when i enter it. its the correct passwrd?

    Hello Duncan,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with Mail on your Mac.  I recommend the following steps for the issue you described:
If you entered the correct password in the password dialog in Mail, but continue to be asked for your password, try these solutions.
Open Keychain Access, then locate and delete the mail account password item.
Open Disk Utility, select the volume (for your hard disk or disks) in the list, click First Aid, then Verify Disk. After you’ve verified (and repaired, if necessary) the disk, try sending yourself a message.

  • HT5622 Popup in iTunes asking for pwd. After entering, no response. Keeps asking.

When i open itunes and want to purchase let's say a movie, a popup little window comes up asking for AppleID and pwd. Fine. I write it, but nothing happens..like if it could not connect or login
If i try to login in iCloud it works,so im sure im entering correct credentials. i read of other people having the problem with older itunes on iMacs and so on, but could not find a real solution Can someone help?
The same if i want to see purchased history using the quicklinks. Asks to re-enter pwd but then nothing. and keeps asking again and again...
How to get out from this loop?

ok after some days of digging and trying suggested solutions by users finally i found something that did the trick.
i post it here so that someone can benefit as well.
The solution described by ernst1000 worked for me: https://discussions.apple.com/message/18274494#18274494
it has to do with cookies of safari (even if im not using it!)

  • When trying to download Apps ipad keeps asking for password. Correct password given but has no effect.

When trying to download Apps, ipad keeps asking for password. Correct password given but has no effect and box requesting password input appears again.

Try downloading something in the iTunes app on the iPad and see if that gets you out of the password loop that you are stuck in.

  • Firefox will not recognize web pages with .aspx suffix, keeps asking for a program selection to open the file.

Searched for "st davids austin" on Google. In results clicked on listing for St David's Hospital North Austin. Apparently the site is written in ASPX and FF will not open it. It keeps asking for me to make a program selection to open the page. When I select FF as the program it just loops back and asks the same question again.

    1. That is caused by a few different Bugs in Firefox 3.6 and earlier versions. It looks like it was fixed for Firefox 4.0.
    2. Firefox doesn't go by the "system default printer". Firefox goes by the last used printer in Firefox as being the "default" in Firefox. It will remember the "last used in Firefox" and will use that printer until you switch to another printer and then remember that one.

  • Phone keeps asking for password on an Apple ID I never created.  Won't reset password.  Never get email.  Birthdate incorrect.  What do I do?

Phone keeps asking for password on an Apple ID I never created.  On my sons phone, it keeps asking for his password for a supposed Apple ID I NEVER CREATED!  I've tried every combination of passwords I can imagine and every route I can think of.  It won't let me delete the account until I can sign in with that password.  Somehow, the find my iPhone has created a loop that won't let me do anything after loading ios7.   It won't even let me delete all contents or settings without the password!  When I ask for it to reset my password, no email comes....  I don't know what to do!  Please help

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out of the account from your iOS device first, then sign back using your updated details. (Settings > store, scroll down and tap your ID)

  • Itunes keeps asking me for my password, then asks me to update billing info

A couple days ago, Itunes asked me to change my password. I did. Then it asked me to update my billing info. The problem is, I can't *get* to the billing info because it keeps asking for my password. I was technically signed in, so I went to my account and went to change the credit card information (which is still correct, btw...I was just hoping that re-entering it would fix it). However, when I clicked "edit credit card info" it tells me my session has timed out. Every time. And its only been a couple of seconds. At the suggestion of Apple Support, I've changed my password at least 5 times and am getting the same results. What can I do here?

Same issue. I complete one purchase and on the next one I get stuck in an endless loop of it asking for my password over and over. I have to close iTunes, reopen and it's fine, but that is ridiculous to do for every purchase.

  • ITunes and App Store keep asking for password.

If I log into the Mac App Store or iTunes to purchase an app/song I get prompted for a username and password, as expected; but then it just keeps asking. If I type in a purposly wrong password it will tell me it's wrong, but when I put in the correct one it seems to take it but the dialog just pops up again. This occurs on my MacBook Pro, my iMac and my MacPro. This also happens if I try to 'view account'. Every now and again I will break through this loop and see my account details, but if I try to change something, say my purchase methode, I get 'session timed out'.
I can log into the website just fine, I know the password is good.
    Any ideas?

I'm having a similar problem. When I open iTunes I kept getting a "We're sorry, we cannot complete your request on the Itunes Store at this time. Please try again later." error message. I also couldn't update my apps. I was able to stop the messages by signing out. Unfortuantely, I can't sign in now. I don't get an incorrect password message, though. Instead I get the same error message.
I then I tried updating my apps on my iPod Touch but then I get a "Cannot connect to the iTunes Store" error message.
So, like you I think the problem is on their end. Hopefully, it's just a temporary glitch. I'm going to go my favorite coffee shop and see if I can download there.
    Thanks,
    Brian
