XDC - Tray mapping

I'm trying to do so when you print from Adobe Acrobat/Reader it prints to a specific tray/bin in the printer.
Also, I'm sending a PDF that converts to a PCL and then prints.
So this is where I'm right now:
I created a paper type called "A4Tray3", that I can use on my Master pages.
So now I want to mapp "A4Tray3" to a specific tray/bin. I'm looking in the file "hppcl5e.xdc" and I'm trying to figure out where to write some PCL code that prints to the right tray. I have the specifics for the printer and all I need to know is where i write the mapping from the paper type to the tray for my printer.
Is it somewhere here?

Hi DasOmen,
Last night's trials with Tray numbers failed -
Our requirement is the following -
1.     Input Tray Name: Blank Paper Feed
2.     Input Tray Number: 1
3.     Input Tray Type: Manual Feed
1.     Input Tray Name: US Check Stock
2.     Input Tray Number: 2
3.     Input Tray Type: Automatic feed
1.     Input Tray Name: Canada Check Stock
2.     Input Tray Number: 3
3.     Input Tray Type: Automatic Feed
Basically I have two adobe forms one for US Check Stock & the other for Canada Check Stock.
In Adobe LiveCycle Designer, two master pages have been created for each of the two forms.
US Form
FIRST_MASTER_PAGE - LetterSmall
SECOND_MASTER_PAGE - Letter
Canada Form
FIRST_MASTER_PAGE - LetterPlain
SECOND_MASTER_PAGE - Letter
The first page  (FIRST_MASTER_PAGE) of both the forms are printed in a preprinted paper (in different alignment) - these papers will be kept in different printer trays. If the form happens to run into second page, it will not show the check second page onwards and the pages will be printed in Normal Letter Paper.
N.B. All pages for both the forms should be of paper type 8.5 in x 11in (Letter)
Please let me know how would you configure the XDC Editor with this above Tray requirement.
Right now, I have maintained it as
<inputTrays>
<inputTrayDefinition name="Tray 1" trayNumber="4" trayType="ManualFeed"/>
<inputTrayDefinition name="Tray 2" trayNumber="1"/>
<inputTrayDefinition name="Tray 3" trayNumber="5"/>
<inputTrayDefinition medium="letterSmall" name="Tray 2" trayNumber="1"/>
<inputTrayDefinition medium="letter" name="Tray 1" trayNumber="4" trayType="ManualFeed"/>
<inputTrayDefinition medium="letterPlain" name="Tray 3" trayNumber="5"/>
</inputTrays>
Let me know if I am missing out anything?
Thanks and Regards,
Rohit

  • Printer not recognizing ANY paper in tray 3

    Have installed the optional tray 3 onto my printer.
    Have changed the paper size in trays 2 and 3 on both the printer and on my pc.
    No matter the size of paper, how much paper, or how I choose to print it (force to tray 3) it ALWAYS says to load paper to tray 3 or hit OK to use available media.
    Would like to be able to get it to print from tray 3

    The attributes of the print request must match the equivalent attributes of what the printer believes it has in (at least one of) its trays, in order to print without a prompt being generated.
    These attributes will be a combination of one or more of:
    Paper Size: e.g. A4 or Letter
    Paper Type: e.g. Plain or Letterhead
    Paper Source: a paper tray identifier, or pseudo-identifier such as Printer Auto-Select or Automatically Select (I'm not sure exactly what the latter imples).
    Whether Simplex or Duplex is selected - duplexing is only supported for certain paper sizes.
    So what does a printer configuration report show (in terms of what sizes and types the printer believes are loaded in each tray)?
    And how does this compare with the attributes you are selecting in the Print dialogue?
    To generate simple test jobs (using either the PCL5 or PCL XL Page Description Languages), which use a specified combination of the above attributes (except plexing), use the Tray Map tool in the PCL Paraphernalia application, available via http://www.pclparaphernalia.eu

  • Google map in scrollable tray

    I've created a scrollable tray and added an embedded google map. I've placed it in a frame as a grouped object, selected the frame, and no overlay options appear.
    The tray does not work as a scrolling item either.
    I've done the same thing without a map and it works.
    Are embedded google maps not allowable in scrolling trays?
    Thanks Mike

    Actually, now that you mention it, I do recall this being an issue
    specifically with Google Maps though I don't recall seeing just code.
    To be sure, try it without the same markup but outside of a scrolling frame.
    That said, I think you may want to rethink this as an MSO perhaps.

  • Adobe Form - Selection Tray using xdc file

    Hi experts,
    I read some forums/articles on SDN and I found that I must change xdc files in order to select tray number on my sap device.
    I used the xdc editor to copy the standard file hppcl5c.xdc and insert the trays of my printer.
    I used report RSPO0022 to create a record for my device type.
    I put my xdc file into the directory <instance>\SYS\global\AdobeDocumentServices\lib\.
    Now I try to print my adobe but it doesn't work, it doesn't create the spool number and the FM FP_JOB_CLOSE return with error usage_error.
    I've SapNetweaver 7.0 Support packages 13.
    Could you help me?
    Thanks in advance

    I solved the problem by reading this document.

  • Recruiter Role 1.40: Missing Services Tray & Service Map in EP

    Hi everyone
    we're implementing SAP E-Recrruiting EHP 4 (SP04). We did some basic customizing in backend and installed Recruiter 1.40 and Recruiting Administrator 1.40 BPs on portal side.
    After assigning portal roles to users, on first sight everything looks OK. But compared to other installation, there is no Service Map and no Services tray on the left side of recruiter role. Service map iView is also missing in portal content of the role.
    The "create requisition" button in the Dashboard leads to error "iView not found".
    Calling the preview for "create requisition" from portal content works as it should.
    I created a service map iView manually and attached it to the recruiter role. Now I'm able to use all the functions in there w/o any problems! Created requisitions are shown in Dashboard for example.
    SLG1 is (just) logging errors resulting from attempted searches in the Recruiter Dashboard. As TREX customizing isn't done, one can expect this to happen.
    What are we missing? Is there some basic setup missing on portal side we forgot about?
    Thanks for any advice!

  • How do we map this scenario in SAP ECC

    Hi Gurus,
    I need a help from you, to get your perspective on how the below mentioned business scenario can be mapped in SAP ECC.
    Scenario: The client is engaged in a business of supplying surgical kits to hospitals. The surgical kit is actually a case with two shelve in it. Tray 1 holds the equipments for surgery and the Tray 2 holds the implants for surgery. There are various different kits depending upon different surgeries. Depending upon the need/demand from the hospital appropriate kit is sent to the sales rep, who then delivers the kit to hospital. Now when the kit is supplied to the hospital, the surgeon uses the equipments from Tray 1 to perform the surgery and consumes some of the implants (as needed) from Tray 2. Once the surgery is done, the equipments are cleaned by the hospital and the kit is sent back to the sales rep.
    At this point the sales rep need to raise an invoice to the hospital for the implants that were consumed from the Tray 2 and also need to charge for the service for using the equipments. Both the equipments and implants have serial numbers and each kit has a serial number.
    Ask from the business
    1.They should be able to track which kits are out in the field and should be able to see the inventory within the kit.
    2.Should be able to consume the implants from inventory, which have been consumed during surgery and raise an invoice to the hospital for consumed implants.
    3.Business should be able to charge for the equipments used
    4.They should be able to track the inventory in the kits
    5.They should be able to depreciate the equipments in the kits.

  • Can't mount Time Capsule on PC (white system tray icon no longer there)

    My new time capsule is working perfectly on my MacBookPro, however recently I tried to get it to work on my PC laptop. I easily got the wireless internet work on the PC, that's not a problem. I installed the airport utility on my PC and it was able to recognize it through the airport utility interface/configuring window where I could change settings, etc., just like I could on my Mac. There used to be (on my PC) this white icon in my system tray on the lower right of my screen. When I clicked on this I could type my password, as prompted, and mount to the time capsule, which I could now see in My Computer as a drive. I tested a few files by dragging them over into the drive, and it worked fine. Now, a week later the icon in the system tray has disappeared, and I can no longer see the time capsule on my PC in My Computer. I can still click on the airport utility icon in my programs and see/change settings in my time capsule from my PC, but cannot see nor access the drive from My Computer (or mount by clicking on this now missing icon). Anyone else know what I can do? Thanks in advance!

    I was just having this problem and figured out that the white system tray icon is the Airport Base Station Agent. It wasn't running for me for some reason, too, but I found it and started it back up again at C:\Program Files\AirPort\APAgent.exe.
    Here's an Apple Support article (it's a little old) I found that discusses drive mapping in windows with the Airport Base Station Agent: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1331
    Hope this helps.

  • LaserJet 4050 - Tray 1 load plain letter

    I get a "Tray 1 load plain letter" error every time I try to print to our HP LJ4050. It wants to pull the paper from tray 1 even though tray 2 is full. I thought it my be a problem with tray 2 so I switched the tray with one from an identical working printer but still get the same result. It doesn't seem to be a driver issue because I have the same problem when printing a configuration page or menu map from the LCD display. I verified that Tray 1 is set to FIRST and Tray 2 PLAIN. I restored the printer to factory setting but I'm still having the same problem. What could it be?
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    I had the same problem.  Turns out that I had moved the printed and in the process of moving it, the paper tray #2 somehow shifted to legal size paper instead of standard 8x11.5 inch paper.  To fix the problem, I pulled out the paper tray, found the blue stop at the very BACK of the tray and pulled it forward into the proper position for standard paper.  This solved the problem for me.

  • Laserjet 4650 tray 1 envelopes printing instead of letter paper

    I am working at a small office which has an HP CLJ 4650 printer. It is connected to the network with an Ethernet cable and shared from the Windows 2008 SBS server.
    The clients are WIndows XP Pro SP3 and Windows 7 Pro SP1.
    The problem we are experiencing is that if er have anvelopes in the feeder in Tray 1, no matter what type of print job we send, it grabs the envelopes and printes on them instead of printing letter jobs on letter paper, etc. I have checked the settings against this link:
    http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=110&prodSeriesId=...
    The behavior is set to "Exclusively" under the control panel system setup submenu of the Configure Device menu. The  server is using the UPD from http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=375775&p.... The clients are mapped either through the server (\\server\printershare) or via IP address. The computers that are mapped via IP address can print normally: they send a job and UNLESS there is an ENVELOPE, it pulls paper from the tray with paper in it and prints the job, even with envelopes in the feeder in tray 1. The computers mapped through the server print the job on an envelope, no matter what I try. I have reinstalled the driver on the server and tried 5.4.0.11744 UPD and it doesnt seem to make a difference. Is there a setting somewhere either on the server or printer to make it only pull envelopes when the job calls for an envelope but will allow them to leave envelopes in tray 1 feeder all the time and print the rest of their jobs normally?

  • Tray displaying all Pages

    It would be awesome if there was a tray or tab that displayed all pages so we wouldn't have to keep jumping back and forth between the site map and page.

    When this happens with a Word document opened in Pages is is usually due to the tables in Word is different handled in Pages. Word can have tables spanning over many pages and cells spanning over several pages and Word happily split the cell. This Pages can't do. Pages can only split between rows. If the cell is too large the table will not split properly. The table will only be partly shown.
    Ask the creator of the Word document to split the rows/cells in smaller parts and Pages will be able to open the whole document.
    You can also create a Custom paper size the are 3 - 4 - 5 - times longer than the usual size and change the paper size for the document . Now you will probably be able to split rows so that are not so high . When you are done you change the paper size again.

  • Create a .pst template that is entry pt order using trays

    Hello all,
    I would like to create a .pst template with trays on pallets in entry point order.  However, I would like to know if there is a solution to the problem of random trays in the file that are not on pallets.  At the moment, I use Monticello to assign the trays to the pallet above or below it.  This however takes a long time to do and is tedious.  Leaving it alone creates confusion on the production floor.   I can create a template that creates 1ft tray pallets but, that is just silly while doubling the number of pallets for the job.   Also, I suppose I can eliminate certain zips in specific entries so those trays fall to the end of the file.  But, the files that are used change each time.   Not very cost effective way to use the programmers time either. Anyone have any thoughts?

    Hello Michael,
       I'm not certain I understand fully what it is you're doing right now with the trays that don't get palletized, since to me it sounds like you're assigning them to pallets where they don't really belong. But that would potentially cause other problems.
       See if this is what you're looking for - it seems like you want to use Presort's "mapping entry points to schemes" feature. If you use that, you would set up a pallet scheme, followed by a tray scheme to pick up anything that can't be palletized. Let's say these are scheme 1 and scheme 2 (it could be more complicated than that if you wanted different mins at different entry types, for example, but let's stay simple). You could set your EP defaults block to have "Scheme Nums per Entry Pt" set to 1, and leave this parameter blank in all the entry point description blocks except the last (local) one, assuming that's where you want to pick up all the leftovers for local entry. In that last EP description block, set that parm to "ALL" so it will produce both pallets and non-palletized trays.
       Then for all your destination entry cases, there will be only palletized trays, and for the local entry you will get pallets followed by any loose trays. This should prevent random loose trays from appearing in the middle of the mailing.
       Let us know if this is what you're looking for, or if there's some other aspect I didn't catch from your first post.

    Hi
    OK I will give that a try.
    For info, I did manage to map a drive to a cluster resource, but I had to

    I woul dhave expected cluster resource volumes to show up natively. Oh
    well, I'll try your suggestion too and see what happens.

  • Adobe forms  - format G_RAW - output tray

    Hello,
    I was using formats of device type (DINA4) to print sapscript formulars in different output trays. Now I have switched to adobe forms.
    Adobe forms are always printed (as I've understood) in G_RAW format, and not in DINA4 format as I want.
    For my printer ( KYO FS95XX PCL POSS, Driver  HPL2 HP Laserjet) I'm not able to manipulate output trays in "Printer initialization" for G_RAW format (in SPAD).
    Example for DINA4:
    Example for G_RAW:
    Do you have any suggestion how to:
    1. Change format from G_RAW to DINA4?
    2. To manipulate output trays of G_RAW format?
    Thanks,
    Evgenij

    Hello Evgenij,
    the reason why format G_RAW doesn't have any printer actions (e.g. tray commands) in default is that the contents of this format will not be evaluated by R/3.
    In contrast, the contents of a DINA4 spool (SAPScript / SmartForm) will be interpreted according to the OTF rules. This means that storing an ADS (Adobe Document Services) data in DINA4 format could cause errors which hinder the printing of that spool, because ADS can not generate spools in OTF format.
    These mean the following:
    ADS spools should only be stored in G_RAW format. No other format should be selected as it could have unforeseen consequences (so the spool won't be printed)
    Editing the "Printer initialization" of G_RAW for tray commands is not needed, because:
    SAP KBA #2111085 - "Tray control in SAP" describes how tray selection can be done for ADS spools:
    "You can select the tray using a job profile (see SAP Note 1743567) or by making a change to the XDC file and selecting the paper size assigned to the tray in the form or using a job profile (see SAP Note 766410)."
    "If this has not been done and you choose "Additional Print Options" and select print options here (including using a default setting for the output device), these are used."
    "You can define print tickets again in the definition of the output device in transaction SPAD. If no print options are selected in the print dialog box, the print ticket passed to the form interface by the print program is used (field IE_OUTPUTPARAMS-PRINTTICKET when the function module FP_JOB_OPEN is called)."
    "If no print ticket is passed by the print program, the print ticket for which the "Standard Print Ticket" indicator is set for the output device is used. For this, you must use the report RSPO0021 to set the parameter SPAD_TRAY_IFBA."
    "If there is no standard print ticket, the system uses the tray set on the "Output Attributes" tab in the definition of the output device in transaction SPAD (if the parameter SPAD_TRAY_IFBA is set)."

  • Mapping hardware tools into existing AI tools

    I have an interactive board with tools (such as pen or eraser) which I want to integrate with the AI. The typical scenario woulld be as follows: the user lifts the pen from the tray, the pen event will me mapped into selecting Pencil Tool from AI toolbar after which the user can add freehand annotations to the AI document.
    Is there an API which would allow me to map abailable hardware tools with relevant AI tools? Is there an example which would demonstrate such integration?

    No, there's no example for a pluging listening for external triggers, but I wouldn't be too concerned about that. You'd just need to take one of simpler example plugins (you can probably leave the stuff it does in for now) and then just add your listening code setup to the StartupPlugin() method. Presumably this will involve callbacks of some kind.
    Once you have that, you'd do something like this in your callback:
    void callback(int id)
      // an application context is needed to 'kick' AI when you come from somewhere unusual, makes sure its all ready to go. Otherwise you get wierd errors
      ai::AppContext context(pluginRef); // you'll need to stick the reference to your plugin in some static global somewhere so you can use this
      char toolName[255] = "";
      MapIdToTool(id, toolName);
      SelectTool(toolName);
    void SelectTool(const char* toolName)
      ai::int32 count = 0;
      sAITool->CountTools(count);
      char buffer[255] = "";
      for (ai::int32 i = 0; i < count; i++) {
        AIToolHandle tool = 0;
        sAITool->GetNthTool(i, &tool);
        sAITool->GetToolName(tool, buffer);
        if (0 == strcmp(buffer, toolName) {
          sAITool->SelectTool(tool);

    Hello,
    Is it a frontend printing? Which device type is used?
    In recent SAPGUI patches, it is possible to map the tray ids via the
    Frontend Options Editor/ tab 'Printer Tray Selection'.
    (see KBA 1704243 about how to access the Frontend Options Editor)
    Please test the following:
    Select the printer model and in "Paper Trays", select "Tray 1",
    in the field "SAP ID" enter the value: 1
    and,
    select "Tray 2", in the field "SAP ID" enter the value: 2
    Do the same for Tray 3, 4...
    After this, please restart SAPGUI and test the printing.
    Regards,
    Wen Peng
