XINPUT mouse driver problems

Hello Everyone!
I've written a mouse driver for Xsun (sparc). It is implemented as XINPUT module. The module calls miPointerDeltaCursor to move the cursor. mieqEnqueue is used to enqueue button changes.
The cursor moves correctly when the mouse is moved but any events (even events coming from miPointerDeltaCursor) are not done immediately but the moment I press a key on the keyboard.
The keyboard focus does not change when the mouse cursor crosses a window's border but the moment I press a key on the keyboard.
Mouse button clicks will be delayed until a key on the keyboard is pressed.
Any ideas why the X server behaves like this ??
Thanks.
Martin.

Can you tell which GE60 model do you have? (there are different models of GE60 and we need the exact model for example GE60 0ND/2OD/2PE..)
Which external mouse are you using? can you give the model of the mouse and the driver version you installed?
Does the mouse freezing problem also happen when using another external mouse?
Also, can you explain little more details when you mentioned "It seems that this problem happens when I unplug the mouse."?

  • Mouse driver problems on GE60

Hi, I have GE60 notebook with Win 7 64-bit and my external mouse sometimes suddenly stops working. The mouse driver completely freezes. When I try to uninstall and reinstall the mouse driver in device manager it just stops responding. Same goes with shutdown - Windows tries to unload the driver but nothing happens and it just won't turn off. I have tried reinstalling windows, replacing the mouse with another, all kinds of stuff but I can't figure out what's the problem. It seems that this problem happens when I unplug the mouse. All drivers are official from MSI website. Thanks in advance

Well, yes, data does get corrupted sometimes.
The trick is finding what data.
By 'cleaned' are you therefor meaning that the drive has been erased and the system re-installed?
Because that's the quickest way to deal with such a situation.
Back up the system first of course,
Add back 3rd party apps one at a time in case one of them is causing the problem.

    HI,
Since this is non Apple product check the vendor site for 10.6 compatibility for udpated drivers.
    Also, try cleaning your mouse.

  • [SOLVED]Xorg.conf, mouse config problem

The Rapoo M765 mouse can not work properly under normal mouse configuration.
The mouse goes beyond controll when config as below:
    hacksign@XSign [14:13:13] : ~
    >> cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-mouse-acceleration.conf
    #Section "InputClass"
    # Identifier "Mouse2"
    # MatchProduct "RAPOO RAPOO 2.4G Remote Mouse"
    # MatchIsPointer "yes"
    # MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/event*"
    # Driver "mouse"
    # Option "Protocol" "auto"
    # Option "Emulate3Buttons" "no"
    # Option "Buttons" "7"
    # Option "ButtonMapping" "1 2 3 6 7"
    #EndSection
When there is no any configuration, the mouse can work abnormally. Movement and right/left click work fine, but I can not use scroll wheel, and the "go forward"&"go backward" mouse key can not work too.
(I know Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5" is the configuration of scroll wheel emulation.)
The real problem is 'mouse beyond controll',the cursor goes crazyly on screen ....
I guess it is something wrong of ButtonMapping option. But when I tried to get button number from command xev, when scroll wheel scrolles, I get something below(the scroll wheel movement is identified as a key event~):

    Thanks for reply !
change Driver 'mouse' to Driver 'evdev',solved cursor goes beyond controll problem.
but I still can not use scroll button and 'go forward'&'go backward' button.
(BTW:evdev_drv.so is from local/xf86-input-evdev-trackpoint, and local/xf86-input-evdev-trackpoint package is from AUR)
I think, maybe something wrong with my button number mapping, but I still can not get scroll button number with 'xev' command....

You should not use the mouse driver (old deprecated driver) but evdev. Try to remove xf86-input-mouse and xf86-input-keyboard (same as before, this is deprecated and handled by evdev) and remove also a "joystick" driver if you have it (I have had problem with it conflicting with the evdev driver).

  • DVD drive problems : should I buy the new iMac ?

Hello, being new to these discussions, I don't know if this question was answered before.
My last iMac's DVD drive stopped working after 3 years use. And from reading the discussions, this problem seemed quite common.
But 3 years is not bad, considering the posts talking about the DVD drive not working on NEW iMacs.
Does anybody know if Apple is going to do something about this soon ? My computer is a working tool, and I cannot spend time or money on repairs all the time.
    Thank you.
    A Mac user since 1985

+"Well, since nobody has an answer, I suppose I will wait until I no longer see the DVD drive problems on the discussions."+
That might be a while. I bought my iMac Oct. 15 and the DVD drive is already not responding. Backing up files, I had burned 2 DVDs from the same package, Toast says this one is a CD-RW and unwritable, and makes a noise like it's trying to eject it but nothing happens. Disk utility says the DVD drive is empty and nothing shows up in the Finder. Using Terminal (drutil eject) and starting up with the mouse button held down makes the same noise as trying to eject it in Toast, with the same results - nothing.
Still trying to find the receipt to take it back & get it repaired. I sure miss the hole for the paper clip.

  • Synaptics Driver Problems? [solved]

Anybody else having issues with the synaptics driver lately?  I spent the last couple weeks messing around with some other distros, and this morning when I reinstalled Arch I couldn't get X to start without changing my mouse driver from "synaptics" back to "mouse".  I get 3 error messages all complaining about not being able to find the synaptics device.  I'm not doing anything different from normal.  I'm even using the same xorg.conf because I keep a backup of the one I know works.  I also ran hwd to make a new one just in case my computer changed its hardware over night, but still no X if I try to use "synaptics".
Has the version of the synaptics package in the repositories changed recently?  If so, I'm blaming the new version, because I had an almost identicle problem with FreeBSD using synaptics from ports.
Now, everybody upgrade your driver and tell me if it breaks.

I'm looking for drivers for the wired apple mouse aka mighty mouse to run in windows xp pro to have horizontal scrolling.  Currently the generic plug & play driver allows vertical scrolling and horizotal only if the vertical scroll is not present.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

I have a MBP running Bootcamp 1.1.2 and XP SP2. My Bluetooth Mighty Mouse works well within XP with the exception of the left-right scrolling.
First I installed the mouse in the OSX operating system. Then when I booted in XP, I used the "Bluetooth Devices" from the control panel to find and connect the mouse with no problems.
I didn't have to worry with any mouse driver installation.
Is Bluetooth working in XP mode?

  • Mouse driver for logitech 10.3.9?

I've been searching everywhere online for an optical mouse driver for a logitech mouse (v320) that runs in OSX 10.3.9
I searched the logitech download site, and although the drivers there say they run on 10.3.9, in fact when I try to download it, the program fails to open and load... and in fact the icc310.zip driver is for 10.4.x
I even wrote to logitech and was given the following run-around,
"I understand you would like to know where can you download a software that will work on Mac OS X 10.3.9. Unfortunately, the software for Mac OS X 10.3.9 is no longer available. You can instead do your own research using Google. I apologize for this inconvenience."
After Googling numerous sites, I only find these scam software driver download sites that never connect and ask for a $14.00 signup fee!
    http://download.driverguide.com/driver/LS1LaserMouse/Logitech/d1388414.html
So I am stumped as to what to do next... any clues much appreciated.

Actually I lucked out and found a link that still loads a 10.3.9 logitech driver.
    I downloaded from here http://logitech-viva.navisite.net/web/ftp/pub/techsupport/mouse/mac/lcc260.zip.
It's amazing that this driver was so hard to find! Or maybe it's all a part of the disposable society that just tosses everything out.
This new driver seems to work with the wireless optical mouse and offers all the side scrolling capacity. It still doesn't seem to work on slightly reflective surfaces all that well... but it's better than nothing.
Logitech support really bites big time. I'll never buy a product from them if I can help it. I just got this one on ebay.
Good luck anyone looking for the same problem!

  • Right mouse click problem on T60p with WIN-XP SP3

I have T60p model. After upgrading my WIN-XP to SP3 i am facing problem with Right mouse click. Right mouse click starts working as left click. Initially when I reboot my machine it works fine but after sometime I start getting above mentioned problem. I even installed the latest mouse drivers(ultranav) from Lenovo site. Has anyone got this same problem? Looks like Lenovo should fix this problem.
    Thanks in advance.

This isn't necessarily a driver problem, and it's not necessarily Lenovo's problem.
The primary and secondary mouse buttons can be switched by a program you are running, although it wouldn't seem that this is very likely.
Windows Start Menu | Settings | Control Panel | Mouse. This will take you to the Mouse PropertiesTabbed Dialog. Click on the Buttons tab. There you can see if the primary and secondary buttons are truly switched. If so, you can switch them back, without rebooting the machine.

  • Logitech mouse new problem

    - i have a logitech basic 2 button mouse working for years on my g4 desktop
    - yesterday the screen would not come back from sleep (computer was still on) so I had to restart using front button
    - now the logitech mouse both buttons will only work like control (right) click - (showing info window)
    things i tried
    - tried to reset logitech prefs
    - tossed the prefs (several times) (both root and user folders)
    - tried update/reinstall of sotfware
    - nothing helps
    - another logitech mouse has same problem only on this computer
    - login to a different user - NO PROBLEM! mouse is fine
    - both keyboard and mouse work fine on another mac
    - maybe some OTHER USER related pref should be tossed???
    any ideas would be appreciated.

That was the default Apple mouse driver. Since you are using a Logitech, at the moment you have no need for the preference file for it. If at some point in time, you get an Apple mouse, it comes with the software you would need.
You said you already reinstalled the Logitech mouse software and that didn't work... something happened when the computer woke from Sleep. At this point, you might consider an Archive and Install but make sure you have all your important data/images/video and documents backed up first.
Did you Repair Disk Permissions as I suggested above?
And try the Logitech Support page: http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/support_downloads/&cl=us,en

  • AIR application object - mouse drag problem

    Hi,
We face the following problem. Attached herewith are code sample and simulation for the problem. Would be great if someone could help us.
Problem: Objects created in AIR application experience mouse drag problem.
To simulate the problem please execute the  sample application, a grey box (object) appears on the screen. Hold down left and right mouse buttons and drag the object and release both the mouse buttons. Object sticks to mouse pointer and moves along with mouse pointer to wherever it is dragged.
Steps to Reproduce  - Hold down left and right mouse buttons and drag the object and later release both the mouse buttons. Notice Object sticks to mouse pointer and moves along with mouse pointer to wherever it is dragged. Object stops to move along with mouse pointer after sometime, then move the mouse pointer to the object and see that it sticks to pointer again and gets dragged along with the pointer.
Actual Result - Object sticks to mouse pointer and moves along with mouse pointer to wherever it is dragged.
Expected Result - Object should not stick to mouse pointer even after the mouse buttons are released.
Due to problems with uploading the attachment here, please send a email to the following email-id ([email protected]) and I shall send the attachment in response.
    Thanks in advance.

After some research, it seems this problem has been there for years with Bootcamp.  Hope Apple can develop a better touchpad driver soon.

  • L430 multiple driver problems (ultranav and others)

    Hello,
I have multiple driver problems with my newly purchased L430.
    1) After hibernate the UltraNav driver randomly stops working. This means that the settings are grayed out and my old settings aren't applied. Sometimes the mouse pad and track ball also stop working after hibernate.
    2) The hardware mute button and hibernate don't like each other as well. After resuming from hibernate with the mute button on the sound doesn't work anymore. Rebooting only helps if you have disabled the mute before rebooting.
    3) The intel usb 3.0 driver can't be installed unless you want a lot of bluescreens.
I do have the newest drivers and BIOS (2.54).

It's ok my friend,  I just hope I will be able to help.
Now to the problem. The thing that worries me the most and the reason I asked you to contact a Lenovo Repair Center, is the blue screens with the Intel Usb 3.0 installation. If the driver is correct this should not happen and most of the times it signifies a pure hardware problem, not a software one. Really, it just should not happen, period!
So please, before anything else, download and boot with a Linux Live cd, any distro you like (e.g. Linux Mint, Fedora, etc). Better choose a 64bit version. It's one way of determining if you're facing a hardware problem with the usb 3.0 ports.
The information you give is very useful and more or less complete, but I would like to also know the model of your SSDs, both the 2.5'' and msata.
Meanwhile, you can check either with the Linux Live cd or with Memtest86+ your ram. This does not seem to be a memory problem but it would be nice if we could exclude it from the suspects list. Many - if not most - of these problems are multifactorial and we cannot leave anything to chance..
    Cheers!

  • Mighty Mouse Tracking Problems with Mac mini core duo

I have a new Mac mini core duo (2GB RAM, 100GB HDD) and I'm having problems with my USB Might Mouse.
The cursor stutters and doesn't track with the movement of the mouse and it will sometimes leap to a different part of the screen or get stuck at the last place it rested. At other times the mouse will track smoothly for a while before starting to stutter again. The behavior isn't consistent.
Is anybody else having tracking problems?
Any thoughts on what might be causing this behavior?
    iMac G5 20 & Mac mini 1.42Ghz, PB G4 1.67Mhz, Mac mini core duo   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

Hmm, this could be one of two things. Your mac might be faulty (Harware wise) which would suck. But, hopefully it is a problem with your drivers that need updating. Try these 3 options.
    1. Update you mouse driver.
    2. Update you video card driver (Video cards can sometimes affect mouse sensitivety -don't ask why)
    3. This is my last solution, before consulting a technician (For money if you can do it free talk to one!) or returning your mini: Try reformating/reinstalling Max OSX and if u have bootcamp check out wat happens to the mouse in XP check for the same problem if it doesn't happen in XP your hardware is safe. IF the problem continues after this... looks like your hardware is bad in that case i recomend a return or send back (If your on warranty).
    GOod luck,
    Wannabe

  • Installed incompatible mouse driver

I installed the IntelliPoint 5.3 driver for a mouse I bought. After I rebooted it was not able to boot in. I brought it to the Genius Bar and he removed put the preferences pane file and kext file into the trash. This did not fix it. I thought I would do some of my own investigating but did not have any success (re-installed a newer version of the driver and looked around on the hard drive for anything else I could delete).. so, this is my 5th day with this laptop and I am installing the OS for the second time -- on my 2nd day with it, it had gone into sleep mode when I was installing something and it wasn't able to boot up following this(something was corrupt with launch thing).
Alright, so back to this driver problem:
The error message for when it booted up was 'You need to restart your computer for the software you installed' or at least something to that affect. Please tell me I will not have to reinstall the OS every single time I have a problem. Re-installing the OS to me is not much of a 'solution.'
What could I have done instead of re-installing the OS? is there some obscure file I could have edited in safe mode or anything?
Edit: I'm sorry, I posted this in the entirely wrong forum, can someone please move it, thanks.

Have you used the latest "software"?
