XL "Stock Turnover" - sample report

Hi support
I need a report stock level report that gives me details: by selected date range of stock in & out, to determine what is required in stock to fill orders expected..working from the evaluated result on report.
Question:
- I have looked at XL "Stock Turnover" and found it very hard to understand figures and calculations (as I am not all to familiar with XL reporter). 
Could I please be given detailed information on the calculation for this report and explanation on what this report is giving me.

Hi,
To get the stock movement list for items, in XLR Composer, choose following :
in Stock management tab, choose:
Items(Dimension) ; Warehouse(Dimension) ; Original Journal ; Base Reference ; Issued Quantity ; Receipt Quantity.
Here Original Journal is the document type and Base reference is document number.
In this report you can get all transactions related to In & Out stock movement.
But in this case, Purchase Orders and Sales Orders will not be included because Journal Entry is not genertated.

    Now my client want me to calculate Stock coverage, Stock average coverage and stock turnover.
    The standard module doesn't give me that.
    As this may be a normal requirement in Industrial businesses, do you know a intelligent way to calculate this?

    In here we use the stock coverage in report like this: the Quantity of Total Stock (0TOTALSTCK) divided by the Quantity of Goods Issued.
    This one is a Calculated Key Figure based on all the GI types relevant defined by the customer.
    We also use the Stock average coverage but by quarters: Quantity of total stock / (Qty GI from that quarter (example first quarter 3)  / 3).
    Sorry... we don't use stock turnover.

  • BI Consumer unable to open Sample Lite and Samples reports BI 11.1.1.3

    I have Oracle BI 11.1.1.3 installed. I am trying to use Oracle Fusion Middleware security model. I have couple of users configured as BI Consumers in weblogic server. When I try to login as BI consumer and try to open some of the reports available in Sample Lite/ Sample reports catalog provided by BI 11.1.1.3 but the reports do not open. I get the following error in the weblogic server :

    However, when i open the reports using the weblogic user (Administrator) the reports open normally..
    Does anyone have an idea why this happening ?

    You need to have the HFM client installed and make sure you register the servers there. Once you can connect via the HFM client, you should be ok.

  • HR Report in BI for Headcount Turnover & Retention Report

    Hi Gurus,
    I need to create HR Report in Bex Analyser. The report is "Headcount Turnover & retention Report".
    Report columns are:
    Cost Center name || Headcount as of 1/1/09 || Num of New Hires (YTD) || Number of Terms YTD || Num of terms that were active on 1/1/09 (YTD) || Turnover %  || Retention %
    Where Turnover % is calculated bydividing total terms over total current headcount.
    Where Retention % is dividing the number of those termed YTD who were active on 1/1/09 those were active  on 1/1/09.
    Headcound = Active employees(1/1/1900 to 1/1/2009).
    New Hires = Newly hired after 1/1/09
    Terms = who leaves company after 1/1/09.
    I Created four restricted keyfigures
    1).Headcount as of 1/1/09 with ( Number of employess, Calander day (1/1/1900 - 1/1/1009), Employee   status [ Active]).
    2).Num of New Hires with (Number of Actions, Calander day (1/1/2009 - Current Calander day variable),
    Action type [New Hire]).
    3).Number of Terms with ( Number of Actions, Calander day (1/1/2009 - Current Calander day variable),
    Action Reason [ Leaving]).
    4).No.of terms that were active on 1/1/09 with (number of Actions, Calander day (1/1/09), Action Reason (Leaving), Action Type (Active)).
    In my result it is displaying all as active employess and i didn't see any terms. For headcount it is displaying multiple times for one employee. One employee should have only 1 in every field. But each employee having like 9, 17, 25.....etc. I checked in BI side there in cube content each employee has '1' in all fields. I don't know why it is taking multiple times.
    Please can any one help me on this. Sorry for such a very long mail.

    Good to see a HR question after a long time. There could be several things that could go wrong in this report.
    First we will start with you did not see any terms:
    Reason terms are based on Number of actions and Actions are generally on period end dates. If you 01/01/2009 is not a period end date you wont have any action on it and it will not display any terms. I would suggest to research in Master Data for 0Employee with any person you know for sure is terminated.
    Second thing go back to business and ask if their retirement is to see terms on a particular date or Fiscal period end. (Terms are generally seen as in a Period range. eg from Period 01/2007 to 13/2007)
    Based on your requirement it seems that you need YTD calculations. YTDs are not that straight forward with a single restricted key figure.YTD for Hires term and Actives are different animals. It would take a long answer to solve your problems.
    Try these solutions even if yo do not get them. USE POSTING PERIOD  and Fiscal Year instead of dates.
    Headcount avg actives YTD: you want to get actives from 01/01/2009 to the period entered by the user. Say 05/2009
    So what you want to is get actives as of 05/2009, 04/2009,03/2009, 02,2009 and 01/2009
    and add them up and divide them by 5.
    Terms YTD: Give a range: Period 1 to Period entered by user.
    Hires YTD: Give a range: Period 1 to Period entered by user.
    I know this not a straight forward and easy solution. but this is the way HR is. Let me know if you need further help.

    There are quite a few standard reports which will give you the stock value report, you can try
    MC.1 to MC.9 (gives you various stock value analysis reports), MMBE, MB5W etc.
    Alternatively you can extract this data from MARD table.
    If you are looking for a specific report, please let us know the same & we can be more precise in the output.

    First fetch the data from LTAK header table.   Based on this table you can
    get the line items from LTAP table.  You can have the list of all open TO's in this table.  Based on the Plant (Werks) you can fetch the data from EKPO for STO report.

  • OCDM  - Sample Report Installation issue - Runs too longer with No progress

    As a part of OCDM environment setup for Practice we were successful installing following :
    * Supported Enterprise Linux
    * Oracle DB 11g R2 (OLAP & MINING option)
    * OWB was already installed as a part of Oracle DB 11gR2 - just unlocked the OWB accounts.
    * Installed OBIEE 11g R2 installation - Installation successful and able to open url's. (analytics and BI Publisher etc.) - Issue with login account.
    * Installation of Communication Data Model (First Installation type from OCDM Installer)
    When we try to install Sample Reports at same stage the screen remain open and runs too longer with No progress.
    The Installation process for OCDM Sample Reports is given in the attached doc with screenshot and the log file is also included in the attached document.
    Please let us know the following two issue:
    1) How to login to Analytics after OBIEE 11gR2 installed on Linux - ( in our case we use user as Administrator and tried password same as username, even checked with the user weblogic and other but no success. Please provide us the information which give details(document) about the Administartion of OBIEE 11gR2 on Linux).
    2) The issue with installation of OCDM Sampple Reports though successful installation of OCDM Data Model.(First Installation Type from OCDM Installer)

    The current OCDM version does not support BIEE 11g, so you need to install BIEE 10g. In next release(will be available soon), OCDM will support BIEE 11g.
    2) The issue with installation of OCDM Sampple Reports though successful installation of OCDM Data Model.(First Installation Type from OCDM Installer)
    The importing will take a long time, you can login database with ocdm_sample_sys/ocdm_sample_sys, and use "select count(*) from tabs;" to monitor the import process.

  • Unable to edit sample reports in Excel

    Hello,
    I'm able to view sample reports from Business Intelligence Center when I browse from the PWA homepage, but when I hit "Open in Excel" I get the following error: "To open this workbook, your computer must have a version of Microsoft Excel installed
    and your web browser must support opening files directly from Excel in your browser".  If I go back to the sample reports page and use the drop down beside any sample report and select "Edit in Excel" and "Open", I get the following
    error: "Microsoft Excel cannot access the file at ....ResourceCapacity.odc" followed by "Problems Obtaining Data" followed by "[DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen(Connect()).]SQLServer does not exist or access denied."  Same thing
    happens if I try to manually create a new data source through Excel.  This happens for all sample reports, templates and data connections.
    The weird part is that if I log onto the server (using the same AD credentials that I used for my laptop), open up PWA in a browser, go to Business Intelligence Center and try to edit any sample report, template or data connection in Excel, I have no issues. 
    Wouldn't that mean that Excel Services and Secure Store have been set up properly?
    Wondering why no machine outside of the server can edit the reports etc...Any ideas?

    This is by design.
    In Excel 2010/2013, the only way that the client can talk to the database is via an OLEDB connection. This requires direct read-only access and does not use Excel Services/Secure Store. If you are viewing the report via the web, then Secure Store/Excel Services
    is used.
    Because of the direct database access issue, you must be authenticated to the network before you can edit the reports. You would need to VPN into your network first. My chalk talk on this may be helpful.

  • Creating a sample report using JAVA SDK

    Hi,
    I am trying to create a sample report using JAVA SDK.
    I slelect 4 "free cells" and pass 4 different strings to it.
    I even slelect the font colour and size. When i run the class and try to view the report in Infoview, I only seeblank blocks without any data. Now if I edit the report from infoview, and save the changes, I am able to see the data.
    My issue is, Why am I not able to see the data when I run the java code.

  • MAP and Total stock in 1 report

    Hi,
    For one of the reporting requirement i need to show Moving average Price & Total stock in single report. MAP is saved in cube 0COPC_C04 and Stock in cube 0IC_C03.
    So i created a multiprovider on them. My report layout is bel;ow
    Material   Plant   Storage location MAP total stock
    Issue is that MAP is stored only at MAterial level and Plant level but not at storage location level.
    and stock is at all level.
    I am getting output like this:
    Material   Plant   Storage location MAP  total stock
    MAT1      PL1    #                          10     -
    MAT1      PL1     ST1                     -       20
    MAT1      PL1     ST1                     -       30
    User wants that MAP is same at different storage locations in a plant so MAP value should be repeated even if its same.
    MAT1   PL1    #        10  -
    MAT1   PL1     ST1   10    20
    MAT1   PL1     ST1   10    30
    How can i achieve the same....

    You could create a characteristic hierarchy with Plant as the parent node of storage location.
    Or create a structure in the query and define a cell restriction to keep the Plant MAP value against the Storage Location cells.

  • Sample Report: Sales per Customer by Period - WITH QUANTITIES

    I am trying to make some modifications to the 'Sales per Customer by Period'  sample report, but am having problems. I want it to be YTD and comparative, so YTD-12. That part was easy enough. Then I wanted to add the quanty. So i want the report to show the sales amount and quantity for each customer, ytd and prior year ytd. This seemed easy enough also, until I looked further into the data. It doesn't match up with reports from Business One. The problem seems to be my items that are packs, like an item that is sold in packs of 10. If the invoice has 10 10 Packs on an invoice, my report shows a quantity of 10. The SBO report shows it as a quantity of 100 (10x10). I have tried to add Item level stuff, so I could go get the 'Items per Sales Unit' value and multiply it by the quantity. When I do this the report crashes.
    Does anyone have any suggestions? Has anyone created a report like this? Any help would be appreciated.

  • Stock in warehouse report - value not displayed.

    In the "Stock in warehouse report" I selected this option: Price source = Last purchase price.
    In the report, for an item, the value in the field "Item Price" is not displayed.
    This item has a good receipt (with value) in this year.
    Why the value is not displayed?

    1.  Did that receipt get paid for with an AP Invoice (when last purchase price is updated)?
    and
    2.  Did you run an Inventory Audit Report before running the Inventory in Warehouse Report?
    To see this maybe you can go into SAP OEC DEMO and create a new item, then create a PO - run the two reports, copy to Goods Receipt PO - run the two reports, and then copy to AP Invoice - run the two reports.  You will see the difference.
    Accounting point - an item is not really valued until the AP Invoice is processed.  Only then do you know what the actual purchase cost is for a product.

    Is there a standard report for goods in transit as at a stock transfer documment level (STN)? I know transaction MB5T/MB5TD will show stock in transit with reference to Stock Transport order, There can be multiple STNs created with reference to a STO hence STN document stock in transit report is required?

  • Stock in Warehouse Report - Printing Warehouse Name

    Hi all,
    My client is printing the Stock in Warehouse Report and wants to pull in the warehouse name in the report.
    They are only ever generating this report for 1 warehouse.
    When I look at the standard template I cannot see how even the waerehouse code is pulled in to the report.
    The only fields I see are text fields.
    I have tried adding a database field related to or linked to another field but I cant seem to get it to work.
    Any advice greatly appreciated.

    I believe you are talking about Inventory in Warehouse Report
    Try the following:
    Add a Formula field and check
    Field_045 == "Whse:"
    Add a database field as you seem to have done and select the Warehouse Name from the OWHS table and set the
    Link to: on the above formula field and
    Relate to on Field_046  ...................................this field is the Item Description field where the Warehouse Code is displayed
    Check this out.
    OR
    If it only one warehouse Add a text field and hardcode the Warehouse Name

    Try and use FM 'BAPI_MATERIAL_AVAILABILITY'. I have used this FM in the past for Stock on Hand reports. Only drawback is that it only runs for one material / plant at a time!
