Xml files from logic to fcp. translation error

using final cut pro 5.1.4 and logic 7.3.2. creating a slide version of a musical show i wrote. sent the fcp file to logic as xlm, in order to record the singing along with the prerecorded music aif file. did the vocal record in logic, but when i try to send the xlm back to fcp i get a message: translation error, critical error. so now i have no way to get the file back to fcp, after all that work in logic 7.3.2. alas!! previously i got that same error message and discovered that in logic i had been working in 48,000 sample rate files, but this time around i was careful to avoid that problem, and checked the audio window to be sure everything is in 44,000 files. alas! alas! moan, sigh . . .

Welcome to the bizarre world of XML.
Given that you're on Logic 7 then I'm sorry to say that these formats have never been particularly reliable (same with L8), but I heard it's better in L9 but I've not tried it yet.
Some report no problems, others can't get it to work at all. I can't offer a workaround as I'm not sure what you want to achieve exactly, but I can tell you it's one of those things that's totally unreliable.

i had a professional do sound design for me. he put all of the actual sound files on my hard drive and also gave me an XML file, which he said i could open in FCP and all of my sound would line up in it's own tracks.
does anyone know how i can open this XML into a soundtrack pro multritrack project?
or do i have to get it to work first in FCP then export as a multitrack?

You might have tried by this time . . . but, yes. Just do an "open" from within STP, find the file, and it should open.

I install Planning 9.3.1 at Windows2003 server SP1 and MS SQL 2000 SP3A. In Hyperion Planning Instance Registration I take "System Failure:-Error while retreiving xml file from database" error in Configuration .

I'd like to change MS SQL to Oracle 10g, I hope this can helps (if reason in RDBMS). But if reason in logic of scripts... I dont't know...

I am trying to configure Planning and getting the following error message at instance configuration step:
"Error while retreiving xml file from database"
We looked at PlanningSystemDB.properties, changes server name to its ip, reinstalled planning, made sure both auth methods are selected (sql server and windows), created new relational repository.. still the same error.

After spending 2+ hrs with Hyperion Support nothing got resolved.. Just to give more background on this problem, we originally reconfigured all Hyperion components to use different SQL server, that is when the problem started happening as soon as we got to Planning Instance Configuration. Could this be the situations when old server name is still somewhere in the system?.. Could this be Shared Services problem.

Hello All,
I have installed and configured planning with Shared services. While I try to create an instance in Configuration Utility by entering the Instance Name, Host Name, Port (8300) and Click "Next", I get this error -
*"System failure:Error retrieving xml file from database".*
My RDBMS is - SQL Server 2005
OS - Windows 2003 Server
I am unable to work on planning for few months due to this error.. I would sincerely appreciate if someone can provide me a solution for this..

Hi,
Ive seen this before.
If this is a new environment could you create a blank database and configure it as your System database? Then try again and you should be fine.
I think you may have some invalid entries in your sys database.

Error parsing XML file from a HttpServletRequest using JAXP

I am trying to generate an XML file from an HttpServletRequest. I am actually using file uploading method in JSP to send the XML file. I think the parser isnt able to correctly identify the XML file from the message body and hence it is giving some strange error messages. Has anyone of u managed to solve this problem ?

i.e., its the HTTP File Upload MIME stuff, followed by the XML. You need to wrap around the input stream something that can decode the HTTP MIME stuff and let you get at the XML itself, i.e., something like: com.orielly.servlet.multipart.MultipartParser (Apache has a similar 'file upload servlet).

Getting error when reading xml file from a remote connection

Hi all,
I want to read an xml file from a remote connection, not from my local machine.So when i am creating the data server i am giving the host name(that is the ip of the machine where the xml file is located), giving the proper username and password and giving the path of the xml file. When i am testing the connection the error that is coming:- "Connection failed and the xml file could not be created, verify that you have write permission in the directory"...
but read write and execute permissions have been given on the directory as well as to the file...

Initially I have started the agent.sh giving the agent name <agent name>and port number 20910 and defined it in the topology manager it is showing that the agent test is succesful. Then I tested a particular Data server against that agent and the test was successful.
After this we had stopped the agent and restarted it.

Upload xml file from aplication server using read dataset, parser error.

I would like to upload xml file from app. server but parser failed. If I upload this xml file from workstation (using ws_upload) it is correct. For uploading xml file from app. server I use open dataset... read dataset. In loop section I remove '#' char. How do You upload xml file from app server? What Could be incorrect.
I try to open dataset in binary mode, text mode...

Importing xml file from FCP 7.0 to 6.0

Hi all.
I am sure many of you have figured this out, but after a few grey hairs today, I was finally able to open a clients project done in FCP 7.0 into my 6.0.
In text editor you need to open the xml file and change: <xmel version= "5"> to "4". Then save as an xml file and import into FCP. Everything came across fine including renders, effects, etc.

Importing XML files from Final Cut

Keep trying to import XML file from Final Cut into Adobe Premiere CC, and I get the Error Message:
The project appears to be damaged, it cannot be opened.
Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Since you are parsing the XML what prevents you from delaying your requests for the image URL's? You can just as well add the image URL's to some kind of collection and load them after you have processed all the text content.

Could you please tel me why the first 8 lines were removed, till <Soap:Body and also added the line <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> in the beggining .
Becuase there will be lot of XML files will be coming from the Vendor daily and that should be uploaded in the application server and should update in the SAP tables based on the data in the XML file.
what information i need to give to vendor that do not add the first 8 lines in the XML file and add the line in the beggining <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>   ??????
Is there any other way we can do with out removing the lines?

I need someone to help me if possible, i was working at school with final cut pro and forgot to export it in xml format and only saved it in final cut pro format... i need to work on this at home and i have a pc.. because there are no lab hours and its due tommorrow, if anyone can help that would be great, thanks!!

i believe it was final cut pro 5, and i have premiere pro cs4 and it says itll read any xml file from final cut pro.
