XP Errors on Startup (Checking Filesystem lags startup)
Bootcamp 2.1 Windows XP Service Pack 2
Windows runs fine, boots fine. Usually..
When I switch from 10.5 over to XP before it boots into XP it gives me an error screen saying it has to check my File System. Every time.
"Checking File System on C:
Type of File System is FAT32
One of your disks...." etc
Press any key within 9 seconds to skip...
Problem is, won't respond to any keys (Macbook), and hence won't let me skip that screen. Then goes into % checking the filesystem, starts around 18%, speeds up then lags at about 70% then slowly to 100%, lags again, then will startup. Around 15 minutes later.
How do I force the skip?
Better yet is there anyway to never have it check the filesystem?
If the partition was less than 30Gb would this check take less time?
Like I said, once I'm in Windows XP, it runs fine, just takes forever to switch back and forth (going from Mac-Windows anyway). Should I be using Startup Disk in Sys Prefs or is there another way (using Option on Startup?)
Thanks

Not checking filesystems at startup by default
Not sure if this is really the right place to discuss this but...here goes...
I had some troubles with one of my harddrives and while troubleshooting I noticed that in fstab, fsck isn't performed on any partition at all... Which got me wondering if that is really sane? Isn't it a bit risky not to do a fsck every bootup? Yes, it speeds up booting quite alot but is it really worth it? Anyone got any opinions?According to the fstab man page, it's appropriate to set safe dump/pass parameters on each partition to check filesystem integrity.
The sixth field, (fs_passno), is used by the fsck(8) program to determine the order in which filesystem checks are done at reboot time. The root filesystem should be specified with a fs_passno of 1, and other filesystems should have a fs_passno of 2. Filesystems within a drive will be checked sequentially, but filesystems on different drives will be checked at the same time to utilize parallelism available in the hardware. If the sixth field is not present or zero, a value of zero is returned and fsck will assume that the filesystem does not need to be checked.
/dev/hdaX / reiserfs defaults 0 1
/dev/hdaY /home resierfs defaults 0 2
/dev/hdaZ /var resierfs defaults 0 2
Adjusting your /etc/fstab to something similar will ensure that your file system is checked on boot. In terms of start-up time, it doesn't really take that much longer with ReiserFS (Depending on the size of your partition) and it provides you with "piece-of-mind". -
Error: [-9045]: System error: BD Root check
Hi all,
I have a MaxDB 7.6.0.37 running on SLES10 based on VmWare ESX 3.0
The Database is a small test database which is in ONLINE state an can be easily switch OFFLINE/ADMIN/ONLINE all the way.
I do an SELECT statement thru the SQL Studio and got correct result tables shown.
I do the same thing via JDBC an get an Error: [-9045]: System error: BD Root check. The FAQ told that it may be an hardware error, but since we are on a vmware plattform, there can't be a real hardware error.
What does this error mean and how could I solve them ?
I tried to recover from backup but that doesn't work.

load-on-startup 1 /load-on-startup not working in Weblogic 9.1
Hi
I have the following xml tag in web.xml file
<load-on-startup>1</load-on-startup> for some servlets, i have given then sequence 1 to 5, but for some reason 5 is loading first and the whole application crashes because of this.
do i have to mention anything in weblogic.xml?
Any ideas how do i fix thisYou're right, your situation is very similar to the situation the other poster describes. However, the main similarity is that neither of you have given us any information about what is going wrong. We can't read minds or read what's on your screen. We need to see specific error messages, stack traces, and specific code that shows what you are trying to do.
However, it's likely that you're running into problems with the issues with "tag reuse" and "tag pooling". You should first read the JSP specification in the areas that talk about this issue, although this will probably leave you with more questions than you started with.
I'm guessing that your "<gui:button>" element doesn't have any attributes. It's possible that WebLogic is reusing a single "<gui:button>" tag instance for each occurrence in your page. You may have to figure out how to turn off tag pooling in the JSP compiler, but I'm not sure how to do that.
It's possible that Websphere doesn't give you an issue with this because perhaps they didn't bother with the tag pooling optimization (it is a good thing to have it available). -
[SOLVED]Building in a Clean Chroot error: Build failed, check ~/build
Hello everyone
I am trying to build qt4 and qtwebkit in clean chroot but when I run makechrootpkg (according to DeveloperWiki:Building in a Clean Chroot) I get an error message:
$ sudo makechrootpkg -c -r /home/zuargo/chroot/
==> Creating clean working copy...done
==> ERROR: Build failed, check /home/zuargo/chroot/zuargo/build
As you see chroot directory is contained in my home folder.
I have checked /home/zuargo/chroot/zuargo/build and I see just the PKGBUILD and another random file (it depends on the package to build). No useful information.
I have made twice the chroot directory and in both times I get the same error.
Does somebody have any idea on how to solve this trouble or how to get information related to the error?
Thanks in advance

I have new information.
Searching for information on the forum (this one) I have found this thread: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=1260353
The user that started the topic, had (or have) a very similar issue. At the first post, he says has fixed the problem by downgrading the package devtools to the version 20120720. So then, I did the same thing.
I had installed devtools 20130408 and in the cache of Pacman, I have the version 20130127, 20130122, 20121115, 20121027, 20121013, 20120720 of this package. I have downgraded to all these versions of devtools, one by one. In some cases, after downgrading and by creating the chroot directory I got errors, either with the package systemd or with the package filesystem. In the first case, the error did not affect the creation fo the chroot directory. In the second case (with filesystem), creating the directory was not successful, getting an error message (see below).
I proceed to list each devtool package (its version) and the error I have got, when I tried to create the chroot directory:
> devtools-20120720-1-any.pkg.tar.xz
systemd's error:

As see, the only one package that allows me to build into chroot directory with no errors is devtools-20120720.
Now I can build packages into a clean chroot directory. But I can't update devtools. -
Deleted Startup disk remains default startup disk?
This one is new to me....
I have one disk with two startup partitions and a third as a "backup". I was working on the two startups partition disk and both worked fine. But recently one of the System Preference panels for Spotlight was corrupted so I did an "archive and install" on that partition. But when I did the restart after the archive and install I was unable to boot into the newly installed Leopard disk. Furthermore the machine default booted into the OTHER partition. So I tried to log into that one and the password input says I was putting in the wrong password (I was not). So I tried holding down the Option Key at startup and selected the startup disk I wanted - again, it booted to the other and the password was somehow fubarred. So I went ahead and "dismantled" that pesky defaulting startup disk, trashing both the system and the library folders - but on reboot it STILL boots to that disk even though now it doesn't exist AT ALL. Even the name remains? ***?
I went ahead and revealled all the invisible files - trashed those. I did Option+S at start up and fsck. I used TechTool Pro to repair, I used Disk Utility and permissions... UGH.
Why is this deleted startup STILL showing up and booting off the other present startup system on the other partition (Note: If I hold down Option key at start up I can still boot into the third OS I keep). What is interesting is that everytime I reboot and check the "pesky" startup disk from the other one I see a new System folder added to that (remember, I deleted it). After the invisible files were deleted it no longer did this. But, again, still boots into a non-existent login screen.
I know the "simple" answer is to reinstall and reformat this disk - but on the other "pesky" partition I have 750GB of data I'd rather not migrate (it's in the default user's folder that I didn't delete). And I'd like to learn what the heck is going on.
Thanks for anyone's illuminating insights on the phantom startup disk.Hi, I vaguely rember you from before, but nothing here is the same as before, as it is with OSX in general!

Hi,
I am using Windows 8.1
I have an External Hard Disk i have partitioned it to 4 parts.
One drive is now inaccessible due to sudden power failure while listening Music from that drive few days ago.
Now it shows "Data error (Cyclic redundancy check)".
I tried all the procedures provided here like
chkdsk /f, diskpart, rescan etc
but no result :( (i mean all processes failed. They could not detect the drive).
Please help me to get those data, pictures and project files.

Data error (cyclic redundancy check) when installing windows xp..
hi guys.. i'm new here.. just switched to macdom a few days ago but unfortunately, i have been having problems trying to install windows xp with sp 2 on my system using boot camp. everytime i install it, i get to the setup screen ("39 minutes till setup rah rah rah", "windows xp is awesome because it has this cool interface etc... rah rah rah") and then the error of doom comes out -_-
the error given is;
an eror has been encountered that prevents setup from continuing
one of the components that windows needs to continue setup could not be installed
data error (cyclic redundancy check)
if you are installing from a cd, there might be a problem with the disc; try cleaning the disc or using another disc
if you are installing from the network, it is possible that not all of the files were copied correctly to your disk drive. run the disk checking utility on your installation drive from the recovery console and start setup again
press ok to view the setup log file
i have tried numerous times without fail and it is getting to my head.. gah.. if someone could help me out, it would be massive and i would sell my soul to you! (kidding).. thanks for reading!
p/s: my setup is;
Macbook
2.1ghz
1gb ram
120gb hard disk
dvd/cd-rw combo drive
the basic setup pretty much.. again.. any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you so much guys!I guess there is a problem with your XP CD, probably scratched or did not burn successfully. Have you tried it with another installation cd?

Error on ATP check when Creating a Sales Order
Hello,
I encounter error on ATP check while creating a Sales Order.
The error is when I create Sales Order using material A, with or with out indicating the Plant and Storage Location, the Purchase Order quantity is returned on ATP check, but when I create an SO with out indicating the Plant and Storage Location, no PO quantity was returned. Note that we applied SAP Note # 387482 to automatically determine the Storage Location. I have also checked material maintenance in MM03 of Materials A and Material B and nothing was different, they have the same Availabity check condition.
Is it possible that the SAP note that I applied causes the error?
By the way I have noticed that when I create Material B and manually populate the Plant and Storage Location there is a pricing error(but it returns the PO during ATP check).
Thanks.

As you are running a Trial version, I do not think HA/ASCS would be relevant for you.
As you found in the dev_ms trace, the port 3601 for message server is not accessible:
NiIGetServName: port 0E.11/3601 = servicename 'sapmsN4S'
***LOG Q0I=> NiPConnect2: connect (111: Connection refused) http://nixxi.cpp 2769
ERROR => NiPConnect2: SiPeekPendConn failed for hdl 0 / sock 4
Check via command netstat if the port 3601 is free for use. The hardware key is obtained from message server and since this port is not available, neither is the message server/the hardware key. Perhaps a VM restart could also help.

Error in Commitment Check message
We are on SRM 4.0 and have funds availability turned on in the backend system (ECC 5.0). A user created a shopping cart using multiple sources. However, after the cart was approved, it would not transfer to the backend. We are getting the error message "error in commitment check". I looked everywhere I can possibly look and have not found anything wrong with the accounts. I even tried to create the requisition on the backend using the same sources and did not encounter any problems.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what is causing this problem and how to resolve it?
Monique StephensWe were able to correct the problem (sort of). The user had created the shopping cart using multiple accounts and split them by percentage. The percentages were two decimal places (for example, one account was getting charged 16.66). But, if we changed the percentage to a whole number (ie 17), the cart went through successfully.
That brings me to another question...is there a limit on the number of decimal places in SRM. I know in SAP, we can only go one decimal place. But, I don't know if that is in config or not. If there is a limit, is there a way to prevent users from going beyond the limit while creating the cart so that we don't encounter this problem in the future?
