XSd-validation isn't performed when invoking file Adapter

I've configured an ESB where data needs to be transformed using a file adapter and a db adapter.
The deleimted files first need to be validated using xsd (native transformation) and if validation was performed correctly they can be transformed and loaded into db tables.
The xsd-validation isn't performed in my use case where some fields are required, have a decimal-format etc., if the files don't comply they're still picked up and being transformed to the db adapter, where the insertion will fail then because the file had errored records in it.
I'm using esb 10.1.3.3 in this case.
kind regards,
Nathalie

Hi Nathalie,
I'm not able to define properties on my esb routing
service in release 10.1.3.3, the definition tab isn't
showing any detailed information for my routing
service.Strange, we're also using 10.1.3.3. Make sure in the ESB Control when you select the routing service, that the operation for which you want to validate the payload is selected. If it is selected, the operation details section should show the validation option. Also see page 3-14 of the ESB Developers Guide. You can also change the esbsv-file:
<operations>
<operationInfo guid="xyz" qname="Test.Insert.insert" wsdlOperation="insert" mepDisplayName="One Way" mep="OneWay">
<request validate="true" xmlns:tns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/pcbpel/adapter/d
b/top/Insert" element="tns:TestCollection"/>
</operationInfo>
</operations>
</service>
using the validate="true" option.
No logging is being generated for this matter, so I'm
not sure which problem I'm facing wright now. I will
bounce the service and try again.We had such an issue when we didn't validate payload at runtime and inserted data using DB adapter. Our TopLink mappings didn't correspond to the XML data to be inserted. That caused only 2 tables out of 4 to be updated, without any error logged. Enabling validation, resulted in an error being thrown; the behaviour we wanted.
The only thing that's of importance here, is that I
need to define this functionality within BPEL and not
ESB, the customer has only acquired bpel for this
matter because human task integration was necessary.One of the advantages of 11g fortuntely is that separation of concerns will be better. It will be much clearer where to use adapters. Not that this helps in your current case right now :-s
I should be able to accomplish the xsd validation
inside a bpel configuration.That should work, good luck!
Regards, Ronald

  • "Fatal Installation error" when invoking "File Info"

    When I invoke "File Info" from Bridge or Photoshop, I get the following error. I reinstalled PShop twice, once even as root, and the problem remains. I've tried CS3 as well and bridge just crashes (log file attached). It also happens with a newly created user account. N

    I reinstalled PShop twice, once even as root, and the problem remains.
    With 'even in root' you mean you did not so before?
    Ideally all applications should be installed in the default applications
    folder on root level, every user account has access to them in this way.
    It seems to me you have made a bit of a mess of the installation procedure
    (don't want to make you angry BTW).
    The best way in my opinion would be to back up all your custom settings like
    actions, workspaces, tools, brushes etc. And after this go to the PS help
    menu and choose deactivate, if necessary repeat this for all the Adobe suite
    versions you have on your system (assuming you have all the serial numbers
    also backed up in a safe place).
    Visit also the clean tool page for CS5 and download the tool after having
    read the instructions.
    http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cs5clean.html
    Then use the uninstaller from one of the suite applications that can be
    found in the application folder where you installed it. Also repeat this for
    every suite version.
    Use the clean tool to remove everything of CS versions from your system.
    Then do system maintenance using the Apple disk Utility  and choose check
    and repair permissions. (also check your disk)
    Also check if you have the latest OS software with using Apple Software
    update
    Now reinstall your main suite version again on root level and use the Adobe
    auto update to gain all the latest updates.
    You can have multiple version of most suite applications on your system and
    even active together but you can only use Bridge version at the time. Bridge
    has been improved significant for each new version of CS so use the latest.
    Try again.

  • Performance problems with File Adapter and XI freeze

    Hi NetWeaver XI geeks,
    We are deploying a XI based product and encounter some huge performance problems. Here after the scenario and the issues:
    - NetWeaver XI 2004
    - SAP 4.6c
    - Outbound Channel
    - No mapping used and only the iDocs Adapter is involved in the pipeline processing
    - File Adapter
    - message file size < 2Ko
    We have zeroed down the problem to Idoc adapter’s performance.
    We are using a file channel and  every 15 seconds a file in a valid Idoc format is placed in a folder, Idoc adapter picks up the file from this folder and sends it  to the SAP R/3 instance.
    For few minutes (approx 5 mins) it works (the CPU usage is less then 20% even if processing time seems huge : <b>5sec/msg</b>) but after this time the application gets blocked and the CPU gets overloaded at 100% (2 processes disp_worker.exe at 50% each).
    If we inject several files in the source folder at the same time or if we decrease the time gap (from 15 seconds to 10 seconds) between creation of 2 Idoc files , the process blocks after posting  2-3 docs to SAP R/3.
    Could you point us some reasons that could provoke that behavior?
    Basically looking for some help in improving performance of the Idoc adapter.
    Thanks in advance for your help and regards,
    Adalbert

    Hi Bhavesh,
    Thanks for your suggestions. We will test...
    We wonder if the hardware is not the problem of this extremely poor performance.
    Our XI server is:
    •     Windows 2003 Server
    •     Processors: 2x3GHZ
    •     RAM: 4GB (the memory do not soak)
    The messages are well formed iDocs = single line INVOICES.
    Some posts are talking 2000 messages processed in some seconds... whereas we got 5 sec per message.
    Tnanks for your help.

  • Performance Problem with File Adapter using FTP Conection

    Hi All,
    I have a pool of 19 interfaces that send data from R/3 using RFC Adpater, and these interfaces generate 30 TXT files in a target Server. I'm using File Adapters as Receiver Comunication Channel. It's generating a serious perfomance problem. In File Adpater I'm using FTP Conection with Permanently Conection, Somebody knows if PERMANENTLY CONECTION is the cause of performances problem ?
    These interfaces will run once a day with total of 600 messages.
    We still using a Test Server with few messages.

    Hi Regis,
        We also faced teh same porblem. Whats happening is that when the FTP session is initiated by the file adapter, then its getting done from teh XI server. Hence the memory of the server is also eaten up. Why dont you give a try by using 'per file transfer'.
        If this folder to which you are connecting is within your XI server network then you can mount(or map) that drive to the XI server and use it with a NFS protocol of the file adapter and thereby increasing the performance.
    Cheers
    JK

  • Invoke File Adapter to read just once.

    Hello all,
    I want to invoke a partnerlink which is using File Adapter to poll for a file every fixed interval. I want the File adapter to read the file just once. In other words, what would be the behaviour of the File Adapter when i invoke it syn or asyn way? Would the file adapter read the file only once? Is there anyway to do this? I read in some post about it but i cannot find or recall the thread.
    Thanks for your help.

    I think I need to explain the scenario in order to give you some more idea as to why i need to poll file just once.
    I am trying to create a schedular using Quartz and If i have this BPEL process scheduled to trigger at say some time, the process would keep on polling. Whereas i just need to poll when the trigger is fired that is once per every trigger fired.
    Can anybody throw some ideas on this?

  • Issue with " " in file when using file adapter

    Hi,
    Iam using FIle adapter to load the data from file to a table.
    Every thing is working fine, but when ever the record in the file has " " in the data it fails.
    Eg:
    12|"LOG" logo|Y
    I am using file adapter with delimiter | and empty in enclosed by.
    When I intiate the process it throws saying expected delimited | but could not be found . But I am not using any enclosed by clause so it should not check for | after ".
    Any one have any ideas or face this kind of problem.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Even i faced this issue before...the problem with file adapter is the attribute nxsd:quotedBy takes &quot; as default even if u dont mention it takes the same and now after the quotes it immediately expects | wch is not there in the data and it throws the error...now the fix for the problem is put some symbol for nxsd:quotedBy wch u never expect in the data some thing like less than or greater than symbol ....some thing like below
    <element name="FieldTwo" type="string" nxsd:style="terminated"
    nxsd:terminatedBy="|" nxsd:quotedBy="<"/>

  • Validator isn't fired when using example code from chapter 40: Validating Data

    When following example code, mentioned in the Flex Developer
    Guide on page 1282 is copied into an mxml example application and I
    run the application, validation is never fired.
    When I have a look at other example code, which is using the
    listener- and trigger-property on the validator everything works
    fine.
    Could you explain why the example code from the Dev-guide
    doesn't work as mentioned in the guide?

    Nathalie,
    I believe you need to specify the "trigger" and "listener"
    properties as well. For more information, see the last example on
    this page:
    http://livedocs.adobe.com/flex/201/html/validators_093_04.html

  • BUG - Process Code Validator isn't working when creating a plsql process

    Steps to reproduce:
    1. New Process
    2. Type: PL/SQL
    3. Give it a name
    4. Enter process body (note I have just entered a random value which obviously isnt valid plsql code - no semi-colon, no procedure called abc, etc.)
    abc5. Click Create Process
    It succeeds!
    Alternatively, if I click next - the validator fires properly.
    Ta,
    Trent

    Some more observations in this regard
    <li>After opening the saved invalid PLSQL code for edit , it doesn't let you save it again , so the validation is firing at this point.
    <li>If you click on next and then click on back to return to PLSQL code page, and then press next once again, it validates and hence is working as expected.
    Now the weird part
    <li> If you check and then uncheck the "Do not validate PL/SQL code (parse PL/SQL code at runtime only)." checkbox the first time itself when creating , the validation will be fired.
    So my guess is that, the validation is fired based on the value of some item which is not set correctly during the first arrival on the PLSQL code page,possibly the item is null without any default value and the SQL query doesn't handle the null case (like an equals to check with NULL).

  • Performance Tuning in File Adapter

    Hi,
    I have an issue with InMemory Translation and Serialize Translation.
    For Inmemory Translation, I set the UseStaging Property as false in jca.file then only its applicablle, after this and for In Memory Translation, I set the property in the composite inside the binding with this

  • Null Pointer Exception when invoking Database Adapter

    NB Just about the same process (minor differences in the payload) was launched at just about the same time, but that one did not cause an error.
    The error happened two days after a release. It was the first invocation of the service

    There was no database shutdown, only a restart of the application server
    We cannot reproduce the error; this means that we don't have an extended log with more information on the error.
    Do you have more information on errors like this one?

    Hi,
    To use the ServiceControl you need to be in a container that supports controls. This is what will instantiate your control for you, and take care of the some of the services controls require.
    So to use the ServiceControl you'll need to invoke it from another web service, a page flow, or another control.
    If you need to invoke from a standard main program, one option would be to use a standard WLS JAX-RPC client. This can be generated with their <clientgen> ant task.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to change read-directory when using file adapter

    Hi, I'm deploying BPEL process to read files from a directory. I want to change the directory where to read dynamically. This can be achieved by using a file header variable. I know how to do this. But, the problem for me is that I can not find a place to assign this file header variable a correct value. The first step in my BPEL process is the receive-step and this has to be the first step. I wanted to place the assign-step before this step but this makes the BPEL process invalid. First step has to be a receive or a pick-step. So, now I have a dilemma! Anyone an advice on this?
    Thanks in advance.

  • File Adapte picking up XML if XSD valid without verifing the XSD in adapter

    hi',
    I am facing one issue
    I have a sample XML file which I want to read through BPEL process
    for this I have configured the file adapter with the schema and reading the file adapter with the receive activity
    next I have created one XSD file (which file adapter referes to) and one XML file,
    File adapter reads it after the XML file gets validated with the XSD which is kept in a location *'/test/xsd/emp.xsd'*,
    now the issue is that the file adapter is picking up and initiating the process without verifying the XSD mentioned in the adapter
    it is only checking the XML file with the XSD mentioned in the XML,
    for example if I have a xml file which is refering to some other schema it also gets read by file adapter without worring about what schema is mentioned in file adapter
    please advice me is this the way File adapter works in Oracle BPEL or I am doing some thing wrong
    I am using SOA suite 10.1.3.3.0 which is deployed in UNIX enviornment.
    thanks
    Yatan

    thanks Ketan ,
    as you suggested, after adding validateXML to true, the XML is getting validated to the XSD in the adapter,
    the process is getting invoked and the receive activity is throwing error of 'Invalid XML', this is perfect as I expected
    however now the issue is, the file which is invalid in terms of XSD present in the file adapter is still being archived to 'success dir' i.e. 'LogicalArchiveDirectory', ideally it should have moved to fail directory,
    but if the XML file is not complete or having some error in terms of the XSD it is refering to 'target namespace' and 'target location'
    then it will move to the fail directory and the receive activity is also showing the error,
    see this is how I have configured my bpel.xml file for the file adapter.

    <property name="portType">Read_ptt</property>
    <property name="rejectedMessageHandlers">file:///aaa/bb/ccc/wis/tph/bpl_inbound/adjust/fail</property>

  • XML validation in sender file adapter

    Hi
    I am using FCC on the sender file adapter ....i need to make sure that one of the fields should always be integer else the sender adapter should give error
    Can i use xml validation with FCC on the sender file adapter?

    Hi Hema,
    As per understanding you need to check one or few fields value is integer or not.
    You can achieve in 2 ways :
    Case1:Using inbuilt xml validation options.
    For 7.11 and below
    1)In ESR/Message type/Export the xsd to local machine.
    2)Insert the xsd file in the below loc
    /usr/sap/<sid>/DVEBMGS00/j2ee/cluster/server0/validation/schema/
    <guid>/<namespace1>/<service_interface_name>/<namespace2>
    <sid>: System ID of the server instance.
    <guid>: The GUID of the SWCV.
    <namespace1> : The namespace within which the service interface is defined.
    <service_interface_name> : The name of the service interface.
    <namespace2>
    : The namespace of the Message Type used by the service interface. In many
    instances, namespace1 and namespace2 are the same.
    Italic path folders need to create by you.
    For 7.3 and above
    Michal's PI tips: XML validation - changes in 7.3
    Case 2 :Handling using simple UDF.
    Input-->UDF-->Output
    try {
       Integer.parseInt(input);
       return input ;
    catch(NumberFormatException e) {
    throw new StreamTransformationException( "Input field value for xyz field "+input+"is not in integer format.Plz correct it");

  • XSD VALIDATION IN ABAP PROGRAM

    Hi,
    I have a requirement where in a report i am picking xml file from the presentation server (desktop) and then i am parsing the xml file using FM "SMUM_XML_PARSE" (first i use FM SCMS_BINARY_TO_XSTRING and then SMUM_XML_PARSE). after using the function SMUM_XML_PARSE i get the xml data in my internal table and then my report uses that data for some processing. This all is working fine .
    My issue is that how do i do a XSD VALIDATION for the xml file that i am reading . I would have liked to do a xsd validation after i import the xml file and throw error if the xml file is not as per its xsd.As i am not using any middleware technology like XI/ WTX which have XSD validation functionality i am not sure how to achieve this in abap program.

    Hi,
    I think you're right, iXML can only validate DTD via its if_ixml_parser->set_validating method (you can find this information in SAP SDN article "ABAP XML Mapping", as of release 6.10, I couldn't find any other reference saying that xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation is supported since then).
    By looking at SDN, I saw an external link about XSD to DTD conversion via XSLT (http://crism.maden.org/consulting/pub/xsl/xsd2dtd.xsl), but I don't have any idea if it works. On another thread, people used OS command to do XML/XSD validation, but didn't describe what they ran exactly (anyway, that means using any external tool).

  • Can I control  filenaming when archiving  files using the file adapter?

    Hi folks,
    Is there anyway to control the filename used when the File Adapter writes out to an archive?
    Second question, I also need to be able to pass a "filename" to the adapter from an "input file." Is there a way to do this in the file adapter?
    Sincerely,
    lpac

    Hi,
    I have done that with the ftp adapter. In the .xsl file I wrote the following after the <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" ....> tag:
    <xsl:variable name="INFILENAME" select="ehdr:getRequestHeader('/fhdr:InboundFTPHeaderType/fhdr:fileName','fhdr=http://xmlns.oracle.com/pcbpel/adapter/ftp/;')"/>
    <xsl:template match="/">
    <xsl:variable name="OUTFILENAME"
    select="ehdr:setOutboundHeader('/fhdr:OutboundFileHeaderType/fhdr:fileName', $INFILENAME, 'fhdr=http://xmlns.oracle.com/pcbpel/adapter/file/;')"/>
    <opaque:opaqueElement>
    <xsl:value-of select="/opaque:opaqueElement"/>
    </opaque:opaqueElement>
    </xsl:template>
    </xsl:stylesheet>
    To use this with the file adapter, you would have to wirte file where is written ftp.
    Hope this helps,
