Yet another time problem

i give up. read all i can read. tried to find other apps to no avail. so i'll just ask it here. everything works in excel but i'm using an ipad at work and only able to use excel at home.
EXCEL (custom format of [hh]:mm)
1         A          B          C          D          E          F          G
2      05:35     06:19     06:31   19:43    13:12   13:05     +0:44
A, B, C, D = inputs
E > F(X)=IF(C2>D2, (D2-C2)+1, (D2-C2))
F > F(X)=CEILING(E2-"0:10","0:05")
G > F(X)=IF(B2>A2, TEXT(ABS(B2-A2),"+h:mm"), IF(B2<A2, TEXT(ABS(B2-A2), "-h:mm"), "ERROR")) ---> delay or gain (+ is delay, - is gain)
NUMBERS (format of time hh:mm)
E > F(X)=IF(TIMEVALUE(D2)−TIMEVALUE(C2)<0,DURATION(0,0,D2−C2+24,0,0,0),D2−C2)
F doesn't work. I can't think of a way. Any substitute? This is really important. Our way of estimating duration of travel (D-C), which is weird because we need E before we can "estimate".
G > F(X)=TIME(24,0,0)−(B2−A2) but is showing 23:16 (24:00-23:16 = 0:44!!!). Remove "TIME", it shows 968904:44.
- what will happen if B < A? will I get a negative time (which i want to see). also, when D < C (eg. D = 2:20, C = 14:40), it says "Duration units were removed."
Thanks.

you can try this:
E1=D1−C1
F1=CEILING(DUR2HOURS(E1), 5÷60)
G1=IF(ABS(B1−A1)≥"0m", "+", "−")&B1−A1

  • YAPP (Yet Another Printing Problem)

I've found another printing problem - this time with colour printing.
    To my
surprise, Forte (3.0.E.0) can print in colour (at least on a HP 690C,
    using
NT drivers for the 660C, the printer being connected to a Win95
    machine).
I can print OK with from my NT develpoment machine in colour, but when
    running
the same app from the Win95 client with the printer attached locally the
coloured text disappears. Has anyone else come across this problem?
Is this another of the 'Printing works fine as long as it happens
    non-locally?'
    features?

I wonder if this is related to the printing feature I discovered

    typically yellow-on-black.

  • Yet Another Time Sheet Question

    Hello, Everyone:
I know there have been other posts on this subject, but none of them have met my needs. I recently began my freelance design career and would like to keep track of my hours in spreadsheet form. I know nothing of spreadsheet applications whether it be Excel or Numbers. I need a basic rundown of how to make my spreadsheet do what I want.
I'd like my sheet to have the following columns:
*Date | Start Time | End Time | Total Time*
Now, I have seen where the application renders the time in decimal form, which is fine, but would it be possible to show the time in hours and minutes, like 1 hr 43 mins? I would like to know how to get both sorts of results, if possible. If not, I'll settle for decimals.
In any case, if someone could show me step-by-step how to meet this task, I would really, really appreciate it.
    Thanks in advance!

    AC,
Your use of the time calculations is a simple as can be.
Select column A and format it as Date&Time, and set Time format to None
Select columns B and C and format as Date&Time, and set Date format to None
Select column D and format as Duration, adjust the slider to cover only hours and minutes, set the format as you wish, H:MM would work.
In the first data row of column D, enter the equation: =C-B
With the first equation in D selected, select the rest of the cells to the bottom and Insert > Fill > Fill Down.
Enter some data. The result should appear in column D. Now you may not like looking at zeros in the rows where you haven't yet entered times. So, select column D and in the Cells Inspector click the Conditional Format Show Rules button. Choose the rule: Equal To and type a zero into the field on the right. Then click Edit, followed by a click on the rectangle to the right of the word Text. In the colors panel that pops up, cllick the plain white square next to the upper left corner. Now click Done.
That's all there is to it.

  • IPod Touch (yet another) syncing problem contacts, address book

I have a new 2nd gen Touch 8g. I am trying to sync to my MacBook Pro. Would like to sync all my contacts and calendar info from my old Palm, but that is not my question today. I am unable to sync my Address Book and iCal information to Contacts and Calendar on the Touch. Specifics:
    - OS X is 10.5.6
    - iTunes is 8.1, recently updated
    - iTouch software is 2.2.1, recently updated
    - Address Book is 4.1.1
    - iCal is 3.0.6
I can "sync" using iTunes. It backs up the Touch. It syncs the music. It doesn't sync the Address Book or Contacts properly.
    History:
    - At first, I set it to sync the Address Book and Contacts (not Calendar and iCal). It would go through the sync process until "Updating Contacts with..." It would hang there overnight. This happened when there were 200+ contacts in Address Book on the Mac but none on the Touch. I cancelled after overnight hours and found none on the Touch.
    - Deleted all Address Book contacts. Now there were none on either Mac or Touch. Still would spin the "Updating Contacts with..." for hours.
    - Set iTunes to sync both Address Book and iCal. Added 1 simple contact in Address Book. Added 1 event in iCal. Synced. The sync completed but nothing was transferred between the Mac and the Touch.
    - Added 1 contact in Contacts on Touch and 1 event in Calendar on Touch. Synced. Each still had 1 contact, 1 event, but not the same ones.
    - Set iTunes to replace the information on the iPod (one time). The sync completed, and erased the contact and calendar event on the Touch, and put the 1 iCal event onto the Touch (yea!) but not the contact from Address Book (boo!).
    - Tried multiple more times. I can add a calendar event on the Touch, but it never appears on iCal on the Mac. I can add a contact on the Touch or in Address Book on the Mac, but the two never sync up to show on the other.
    Other details:
    - I don't use Google Contacts or Calendar
    - I don't use MobileMe (or really know what it is yet)
    - I did use iSync to try to sync all my Palm info (not successfully), but stopped trying and reset the sync history, just in case.
    - I don't use USB hubs, and I do the sync with just the Touch attached via the cable it came with directly into the MacBook Pro.
    - I've read hundreds of posts here and elsewhere. I've restarted programs multiple times. I've updated software. I've tried following the advice of all the posts I could, even if they weren't precisely what I was experiencing.
Does anyone have any brilliant ideas as to what I should try next? I bought this thing to replace my Palm as my PDA, but it won't be any good unless I can sync the darn thing. I've been working on this for almost 3 days straight and am going bug eyed reading all the info on the web. ANY help would be appreciated!
    Thanks!

I managed to get the sync to work after much shutting down and restarting, of programs and the computer. I cleared the iSync history just in case. I closed programs, etc. Eventually, it just worked and has continued to do so ever since. It is not slow, but rather quick.
    All is well.
Now, the conversion from Palm is another story.....

  • [SOLVED] Yet another time issue...

    Hi there,
I'm having some crazy, hair pulling, head banging UTC time issues on both my dual boot (Arch & Windows 8) desktop and single boot laptop.
I've been searching and following a mulitude of old threads and the official Wiki guide, however, I simply cannot get UTC time to stay correct between reboots. I've installed Arch a fair few times now, both before and after the switch to systemd and in dual and single boot setups and have never had time related issues like this before...
Here's a run down of the whole sorry story....
Fresh install - set time with hwclock --systohw utc as suggested in the beginners guide.
First boot - time an hour out - huh? cat /etc/adjtime and ls -l /etc/localtime - everything as it should be... UTC and symlink to /usr/share/zoneinfo/Europe/London. Nonetheless I duly follow the Time guide on the wiki, get to know timedatectl a bit, and soon after, time is set to be correct. Great.
Reboot. Time an hour out. Whaaaa??. Start googling, finding a plethora of bbs links to others with similar issues, decide to use NTP. Install, ntpd -qg. All good again. Time right. Phew...
Reboot. Nope. Arrrrgggghhhh. (Bare in mind - at this point I haven't even booted the Windows 8 disc, and I went through the exact same process on my Arch only laptop...)
More googling, thread reading. Find out that hwclock and ntp might be in conflict. Delete /etc/adjtime, reinstall tzdata, re-follow Time article to the letter and reenable NTP to start at boot.
Reboot - time is foward an hour yet again. Bang head repeatedly on desk. Then suddenly - 10 mins or so after boot - NTP kicks in, and time is magically goes back an hour to the correct time! Surely NTP should be doing this early in the boot process, not 10 minutes after? But OK, at least something is happening...
Next I dare to boot into Windows, and yup, time an hour out. Expected, but frustrating nonetheless. Add the registry tweak as suggested in the guide, and turn off the Windows time synchronisation. During which I noticed that Windows 8 time is set to UTC by default, not localtime, which is what the wiki says. Is this a Windows 8 thing?
I can't help thinking, that if this is the case, and the Wiki advise is written under the assumption that Windows time is always localtime, that perhaps this is the route of my problem....
Anyway, Windows time all good now, reboot Arch, time again wrong untill NTP finally kicks in - sigh. Reboot to Windows. Time an hour back. Gaaaahhhh - WTF?!! reset it to be correct. Try again. Same thing. Oops, forgot to mention that on each reboot, I check the BIOS clock, which remains persistently correct during the whole debarkle...
Ok, so I try without the registry hack and turn Windows sync back on. Still fucked. I try various combinations of the two, I try resetting Arch time over and over again. With NTP - late sync. With hwclock only, or both hwclock & NTP - totally fucked! Eventually, I give up on UTC in Arch, set it localtime, delete registry key, turn Windows time sync back on, and thus far all good......
TL;DR - couldn't get hwclock to set UTC time correctly across reboots. NTP worked (sort of), but after each reboot it would take ten minutes for the time to sync and the clock to move back an hour to the correct time. Localtime just works...
My question is - why is the wiki (and the timedatectl status output for that matter) - so adamant that we should use UTC? From what I can gather, as long as I boot Windows around the DST time. or manually move the clock forward or back an hour - all should be well, no? Or are there other issues that I may run into that I've missed? The thing I'm most concerned about is data corruption due to timestamp issues...
Also, why does the wiki repeatedly say that Windows uses localtime, when this doesn't appear to be the case in Eight? Does the wiki need updating or is Windows lying to me? I know which I'd put my money on ;-)
Finally can anyone explain why my time was always an hour forward after a reboot, even when the time was set correctly before, the BIOS showed the correct time, and NTP was in use?
Sorry for the crazy long posting, but this issue has been driving me totally batty!! Any light-shedding greatfully appreciated :-)

Ok, so I set the clock back an hour in the BIOS, booted Windows - time right - YAY.
Rebooted Arch - time right. OMFG - pure joy!!!
I have to say, I still find it odd that this is how it works, and would like to confirm that things are looking as they should in the output from the following commands....

Assuming hardware clock is kept in UTC time.
    Waiting for clock tick...
    ...got clock tick
Time read from Hardware Clock: 2013/08/10 14:43:20

    Sat 10 Aug 2013 15:43:20 BST  -0.953640 seconds
Is it OK to now reinstall NTP to keep the clock in sync on Arch, and are the Windows reg tweaks still necessary on Windows 8?
Thank you guys SOOO much for all the unbelievabley speedy help on this issue - you have no idea how much this has been stressing me out!!

  • Yet another printing problem 'EOF' errors

This problem is probably both a Leopard and Adobe problem combined. It's a rather complicated problem, but the bottom line is that (to most printers) the jobs coming out of one of our Mac Pros cause the printers to crash and restart themselves giving an 'EOF Error (End of File)' on at least one of them. The problem also appears to affect PDF documents created in InDesign which will then cause the same errors on any computer it is printed from.
Things you may need to know and that I've already tried:
    • The same printers with the same drivers printing the same files will work on other Mac Pros of the same version with the same version of Leopard.
    • Using a generic driver will print properly, however this is not a workaround because we need duplexing provided by the driver and I'm not sure how this could fix the PDF problem.
    • Fonts have been disabled and checked with Font Doctor.
    • Starting up in 'Safe Mode' will allow printing, but without fonts or links on server volumes.
    • Switching the hard drive with another identical Mac Pro brought the problem with the HD, worked on other. In other words, the problem is definitely in the software and not a hardware problem.
    • Reset the printing system numerous times.
    • Re-installed the OS, Adobe CS3, and a couple of documents - same problem with no added extensions. Other computer with tons of extensions and fonts, etc. - no problem.
    • Plain text documents print fine.
    • Some PostScript documents will print, but rarely.
    • Will not print to HP LaserJet 2420, Minolta Di650 Fiery, ABDick Platemaker.
    • WIll print to Kodak DigiMaster (three different models and versions)
Everything that I think sounds like it could be the problem is disproved by the fact that several other Mac Pros with the exact same configuration have no problem. I'm thinking about cloning another Mac Pro system that works and seeing if I can go about it that way.
Apple support was no help. Nor was Adobe. They tried to be helpful, but there is no logic to solving this one. This has been going on for over a week now and I've tried so many things. It's driving me crazy. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It was actually just a commonly used font that had gone bad somehow. Problems like that are always fonts or links. Sometimes they just aren't as obvious. We thought we'd checked everything and it affected so many of her files because she used the font so often.

  • Yet Another NVIDIA Problem(TM)

Since I updated XFree86 a week or so ago, it just keeps failing to initialise the NVIDIA module. I tried X.Org, which does exactly the same. Looking at the log, everything seems to start up properly with no errors, but suddenly it decides to give up, no reason given.
I have just discovered that if I uninstall, reinstall and modprobe the the NVIDIA drivers, it works! Until I reboot. Then, no matter what I try, it will not work at all! So I have to uninstall, reinstall and modprobe each time I reboot.
Very weird is all I can say.

Well, I had done that, but the point was that once I restarted, whether the nvidia modules was loaded by /etc/rc.sysinit or manually with modprobe, it would not work (but modprobe did not report any errors). The /dev/nvidia* devices do not show up.
Seems the problem is with UDev (maybe I needed to configure something for it?). I have switched back to DevFS for now, and it works again (X.Org). I had forgotten when I posted that I had also switched to UDev at the same time...
I still have another slightly related problem. I recently (yesterday) had this idea that maybe I should try get my (hardly ever used) Lucent winmodem working under Linux for the odd times I use dial-up. Drivers were easy to find (http://linmodems.org/). This worked under UDev, but then stopped working when I restarted (grr), the same as NVIDIA, whether they were in MODULES or whether I modprobe'd 'em. I actually got KPPP to dial on /dev/modem and it would have authorised had I bothered to configure PPP daemon first ;-) Didn't work under DevFS either, even though the install script had added a rule in /etc/modprobe.conf to alias /dev/modem which doesn't materialse. The device does appear at /dev/tts/LTM0 but KPPP can't dial on it.

  • Workflow does not start automatically on create item (yet another time)

The topic has been discussed broadly throughout different forums, but I didn't find the solution to my issue yet and hope you can help me out with ideas to sidestep the difficulties created by Microsoft.
I have one list 1 in Site Collection A, and one list 2 in Site Collection B (PWA site collection). I need to copy an item from list 1 to list 2 with some values. I use a "Call http web service" action to accomplish
that as I need to copy informatin cross site collections.
The "Call webservice" is in an App Step, because the user creating an item in list 1 does not have permissions on list 2. Thus, my item is created "by workflow" (not "by System Account") in list 2. Now I need a second
workflow to start on list 2 which will create a project in Project Server.
As I am working across 2 site collections, I can not use a SharePoint 2010 workflow with impersonation step for list 1 as the "Call a webservice" action is not available for SP2010 workflows and "Copy item" only works in the same site.
In Nintex I can impersonate the web service call - is this also somehow possible for SPD2013 workflows? Or is there any other possibility to get over this silly restriction of workflows not starting automatically on System account created items? Someway
perhaps to tweak the App Step in impersonating with another user account?
    Any help appreciated!
I really can't understand, that this common requirement is still not solved by Microsoft :-(  I found more threads on the topic than I can count, so this seems to happen quite often... at least they should finally offer a proper way of doing some kind
of impersonation with the calls so we have a chance to change the creating user account.

    Hi,
As I understand, you would like to use workflow to copy list items cross site collection.
So far it is not supported with OOB workflow option, here is an codeplex workaround:
    https://spdactivities.codeplex.com/wikipage?title=Copy%20List%20Item%20Extended%20Activity
Please check if it can be help.

  • Yet another TIme Machine hair-puller

What gives with this software? I've read on these forums that people have plugged in a FW/USB disk directly into their laptops, done an initial backup and then plugged the disk into either an AEBS or another Mac running Leopard and are happily, wirelessly backing up. Not me.
When I do the initial backup of my laptop over the FW, it works fine, creating the backups.backupd folders and everything. But when I plug the LaCie 500GB into my iMac and network it, Time Machine tries to back up to it as if it's never seen it before and writes a sparse image file to the external drive. This isn't what I wanted, is it? I just wanted to do an hourly backup, and it's trying to back up my entire disk of about 100GB of data.
Any ideas? 10.5.1 can't come soon enough at this rate.

Try searching the forum for "sparse image" and/or "backing up two Macs on one external disk" (or something similar. There were a few threads in the last week or so that spoke to this issue - I haven't had the pleasure, so I can't help you...

  • Wine and yet another font problem

So I upgraded my system (had to load lots of stuff, Xorg, Wine, the kernel..) and now my Wine fonts look like this:
    http://koti.kapsi.fi/anpurola/winecfg.png
Some fonts are ok, but most of them are unreadable. I mostly run poker clients. I tried to delete my .wine directory, and install fonts again with winetricks, didn't help.
Does this have something to do with the new Xorg? I had to remove RgbPath and AutoAddDevices from xorg.conf BTW, to get it work.

Whoa thanks. It worked for me too.

  • Yet another internet problem after updating to Leopard

After 3 attempts, I've finally got Leopard installed on my Macbook Pro (just over 18 months old, was running Tiger perfectly well) and i STILL can't get internet access.
The Airport says its connected but nothing loads at all - it won't send/receive messages, it won't load webpages, it just sits there doing nothing until eventually (often after half an hour or more) it'll tell me that the connection has timed out.
I've done the following changes as suggested elsewhere on the internet -
    1. Changed IPv4 settings to manual and doublechecked these are correct - they weren't the first time round, it was inventing phantom numbers and confusing my router for the actual interwebs. So changed that.
    2. Turned IPv6 to Off on both airport and ethernet
    3. corrected DNS entries for the Airport - again left to its own devices it thinks the router's IP address is the DNS address. So I added the correct 2 plus the two from Open DNS for good measure. I've tried different combinations of all 4, only the router two, only the open DNS 2 and so on and so forth and it still won't work!
    4. tried restarting several times after each change.
    5. double checked i don't have any of the .plist files from Tiger that might be interfering.
    6. checked for a trojan horse
    7. checked my router is working (it is).
And, nothing worked. It's still rubbish and does nothing. I wish I had never spent the money on the stupid upgrade and am never going to do it again!
    Can anyone help?!
I've got 10.5.4 and then I patched it with the 10.5.5 Combo update too. I went for an Erase and Install option too. I'm not the most mac savvy person around, so please be gentle!
    TIA.

I've checked, double checked, triple checked, tested, quadruple checked... My router is working perfectly, it works with my blackberry, friends laptops, my PC... just not my Mac. All the addresses are correct - left to its own devices the laptop with Leopard on it will NOT use the correct info for the DHCP or any other address. It uses incorrect information, confusing the Router itself with the actual internet (basically all the address fields that are meant to point you at, like, "the internet" will instead just point you to the router and the router of course replies with Hey man, whaddya want? I'm just a router... so nothing happens). Changing that gave me some internet access where previously it wasn't getting any. But all webpages take forever to load - often not loading at all - and after about 10 minutes of occasionally working the whole thing will pack up.
I flat out refuse to fork out £300 for a new router just because Apple decided to make their new OS incompatible with anything but Time Capsule (as I suspect is probably the case given loads of people are having the same problems and there's been a noticeable silence on the subject from Apple). So I guess I'll be wiping the macbook AGAIN and reinstalling Tiger from the recovery disc.
Next computer - back to a windows PC! I'm sure Microsoft are loving Leopard.

  • Yet another Time Machine issue

I had a failure in time machine several months ago, and did a full reset of time machine as instructed on the discussion boards.  Today I noticed that not only had Time machine failed to Back up, but it had no back ups when I 'entered' it.
When I reset Time Machine (on a 4 T external hard drive, so space isn't an issue), it failed with an error message:
The backup was not performed because an error occurred while copying files to the backup disk.
The problem may be temporary.  Try again later to back up.  If the problem persists, use Disk Utility to repair your backup disk.  WHen that volume is repaired (disk is partitioned) it says volume repair complete, and updating boot support partitions for the volume as required.  Then it says Error:  Couldn't unmount disk.  When the second partition is repaired, it sends the same message.
I assume this is a problem with the Back Up Disk (a Lacie, purchased within the last few months).  Or, is it a problem with Time Machine?
    Any help out there?
    THANKS
I have been running Lion for about a month.

Sounds like a problem with the drive like a corrupted directory or RDB. I would just erase the drive with Disk Utility and start over:
    Drive Preparation
    1. Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
    2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.

  • Yet another fan problem

hey everyone ... i've recently did a complete reinstall of arch on my laptop for 'maintenance' purposees. Now, while I think i've got everything pretty reconfigured exactly as it was before, there is something .. well .. different, about my fan !
Even though i'm 99% positive that ive got all /etc files setup just as they were, that ive got all necessary modules up & running, my fan doesnt seem to be responding in the same way. My CPU isnt really running any hotter than before, but because the fan doesnt react to the higher temps, it gets hotter faster than before, and takes forever too cool down after effort..
I like this laptop & paid lotsa bucks for it, and wouldnt want it to deprecate faster because of heating problems. So, what controls the fan and why might you think it fails to respond to the temps ? ...

more: ive just noticed /proc/acpi/fan/FAN0/state will not buldge from 'off' ...... its 'off' all the freakin time ...... dmesg says its setting state to 'D3' .......
anyway, now i got proof fan is always off. cause thing is, even when its on, its not blowing that hard, nor is it very noisy. so i wasnt sure, but now i am ...
anyways, lm sensors cant seem to find any modules for my fan. and i just cant find any info anywhere on how to get acpi to run my fan ... i guess it should be a mix of events/actions but which and how ???!>
    *sadness*

  • YASPP: Yet Another Stacksize Problem Post

    Hi,
I've just installed the latest community version of Opensolaris, along with the beta of sun studio 12 on a 16-way 32GB amd64 machine. So far this machine has been running with linux+intel 9.1 compilers.
When I tried to run our openmp code, after solving a (very few) porting issues, I found out that it runs fine for the "minimal size" problems. For the minimal size code to run i have to set the stack size to at least ~45056kb (44MB).
However the medium size problem needs exactly 8 times more memory. If I try to set the stack size to 360448kb, I get an "unlimited" stack size, and the program crashes. I guess that by unlimited, the system means I have hit the maximum limit for the stack size. Is there any way to increase it?

It's a bug in the compiler. Let's look at your example program from the OpenSolaris forum:
    program stack
    implicit none
    integer*8, parameter :: k=1024
    integer*8, parameter :: s=512*k*k/4
    integer,automatic :: foo(s)
    integer*8 i
    print*, 'allocating:', s/1024*4,'kbytes'
    !$omp parallel do private(i)
    do i=1,s
    foo(i)=1
    end do
    !$omp end parallel do
    pause
    print*, foo(1),foo(s)
    print*, 'worked'
    end program
If I change s to 512k, then look at the assembly code, this is what I see:
    $ f90 -O3 -m64 -xarch=sse3 ompstack.f90 -S
    $ grep 'subq.*%rsp' ompstack.s
    subq $32,%rsp
    subq $524392,%rsp ;/ line : 1
That second "subq" instruction is reserving space on the stack for the array. Now if I restore s to 512M, I see this:
    devtools-x4200-0$ f90 -O3 -m64 -xarch=sse3 ompstack.f90 -S
    devtools-x4200-0$ grep 'subq.*%rsp' ompstack.s
    subq $32,%rsp
    subq $104,%rsp ;/ line : 1
Looks as though the code that computes the amount of space to reserve on the stack is overflowing. I have filed bug 6541518.
The program will work if you remove the "automatic" keyword from the variable declaration. Most likely, your OpenMP program will also work if you remove "automatic" keywords. Alternatively, you could change the automatic variables to local allocatable variables. Of course, you would then have to insert an allocate statement at the beginning of the procedure.

  • Yet another bug/problem?

Each time I copy a file from a Maverick client to a shared folder on Maverick Server that is not the one that contain the home directory, the file copies but I always get an error message that "the Finder can't complete the operation because some data can't be read or written error -36". Indeed all permissions are granted to the local file and the network user has full access control and all permissions granted to the shared folder on the server.
This problem, the lack of support for versions (not possible to work on the file located on the server without making Pages, Numbers and Keynote files into folders that slowly but surely fill up document folders everywhere) and the inability to disconnect SMB users makes has made our work environment miserable and we have to go back to use our rock-solid PowerMacG4 running Panther Server (has been running for 10 years without a single issue beside upgrading internal storage): Hardware and software quality control has definitely considerably decreased in the past 5 years.....(lots of iMac and MacBook have issues after 4-5 years while our G3 and G4 are still working perfect although they are running 24/7 for 10 to 14 years).

As mentioned in my post, the pre-icloud version was rock solid (indeed it does not have such problem) and one would expect from Apple that the update is as solid (and it's not!).
Going back to 09 is not a solution (although I do not use iCloud for storage, backup, I do want to be able to use it to send files to my iDevices easily). I actually paid for the 09 most expensive version (IWork + MacOS Family pack) and I would gladly pay for an 09 version that supports iCloud but I will never pay for iCloud storage (which will be required if I use the iCloud.com pages/numbers). Apple almost allowed me to finally dump Micorsoft Office, too bad it turned out that iWork is becoming as bad as Office 365.
