You cannot drop components on plain HTML documents, only web form
Hi,
I have created new page, from page navigation->new page. Added output text components, buttons, text fields, dropdowns, etc. Next day, all the components just disappeared from the JSP page but the JSP source file still has the all the outputText, selectOneMenu, inputText, etc.
I tried to add new components again but it wouldn't let me to add, instead displays a message "You cannot drop components on plain HTML documents, only web form".
So I deleted the page, recreated whole page from scratch, after few hours the very same problem.
I deleted the page again and created the new page from scratch, wrote java code which was working absolutely fine. Next day its the same problem again.
I am fed up with creating the same page again and again, wasting lots of time. Can some one please tell me whats going on?
I did search the forum, few people reported the same problem but couldn't the find solution.
Can some pleaseeeee tell me whats going on.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
cheers

Hi runaK,
thanks for getting back to me.
Unfortunately, the link dint solve my problem.
I have already read this link and the cpu time is not my problem( I mean not highest priority for now, I will have look in to it once I solve the drag and drop problem).
I haven't used getContext() so its not the source of the problem. I din't quite understand the workarround suggested by Eric. Could you please explain in detail about the workarround? and how to do it?
thanks

Cannot drop components on plain HTML documents, only web forms
How does Creator discern the difference between an HTML documen and a "Web Form"? I have a JSP that I've added to JSC (Via File->Add Existing Item) that shows a valid Visual Design tab but won't actually let me modify the file visually. Instead, I get the error listed in the subject. Is there some meta-data somewhere that I need to update?
I've also noticed that in Visual mode, the Properties pane shows a blank for the Response Encoding and Language properties. I can't seem get any changes I make to those to stick either.
Any ideas?Hi,
Please go through the following thread which dicusses the same issue:

Also please check this Weblog from Tor:

ORA-20123 is a localized/customized error code & message; therefore any solution depends upon what is unique inside your DB now.
I suspect that some sort of TRIGGER exists, which throws posted error, but this is just idle speculation on my part.
How do I ask a question on the forums?

Hi
I recently upgrade tp 7.0.3 from 7.0.2.
While upgrade i found that i am not able to login to the web server with the admin id "admin" default created in the application server.
The same id i can login to application server , but not in wewb server.
I am getting the mentioned error "You cannot sign in to the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Server interface using preconfigured system profiles".
However if i create a new user in application server and tried logging with the same in the web server it is working fine..
is it a known behaviour wirh the upgrade or i m facing some issue.
Hope i can find a solution here.
Regards
RCRC,
This behavior is stemming from a change in MP 7.0 MR2 to disable the MPWeb login for system profiles. This was an internal change made by the developers to restrict the log on to the MPWeb page by the default accounts created in MeetingPlace upon installation. The change now displays this error when the admin account is attempted to be used for MPWeb login, as you experienced-
Error:[22953] You cannot sign in to the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Server interface using preconfigured system profiles.
You should be able to log into MPWeb using any other user profile that you have either created manually or pulled in from LDAP/Active Directory. You just cannot use the admin account. This is reserved for login to the MP Application Server Administration page only. I am going to work to get this information added to the MP 7.0 documentation with a note for changed behavior in MR2 and above. Here is the note from MP 8.0 documentation-
Note: You cannot use this preconfigured admin profile to access the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Server interface. Instead enter the User ID and password information from one of the other user profiles that have system administrator privileges to sign in to the Web Server.
Please let me know if you have any further questions.
Thank You,

Opening help html documents from 10g form
We are converting our 6i forms to 10g. I am trying to open my help html documents from the 10g forms. We have modified the httpd.conf file setting the DocumentRoot "/oracle/apps/aces/help". This is the path where my html documents reside. From the 10g forms I am using web.show_document to open the html documents. I am getting a Page not Found error. Is there somewhere else the help path needs to be set?
Thanks!!
Shellie BrickerThe way i know is, putting some AliasMatch in the conf-file of Apache like
AliasMatch ^/help/(..*) "C:\help/$1"And then use WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT with this virtual path
WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT('//help/helpfile.html', '_blank'); -
Hi all,
I have a CFMX7 application where I would like to integrate
scanning of a local paper document into the client PC, have it
stored as a PDF or graphic file, and the file automatically
uploaded with the other data of a form. How can I have a web form
button kick off the scan in the first place? This would seem like
the province of an ActiveX control, but does anyone have any idea
how to do this, or know of any existing tools that enable it?
Thanks,
Russrchinoy wrote:
> This is for a secure internal application, so user's
won't have any security concerns about the scanning - they're the
ones asking to be able to do it. The problem is how to do it.
That is all fine and dandy for your and your users, but if
the
CAPABILITY existed in the browser so that you could do this
for your
users who want it and except the security risks, it would
exist for all
developers and all users of that browser. That means it would
be very
simple for unethical developers to use the capability to
steal
information for other users who DID NOT except the security
risk.
If IE had this functionality for you, then I could use it to
create a
website, trick you to visit that site and do nasty things
with your data.
NOW, I guess an activeX plugin that had to be installed would
mitigate
this somewhat, but it still is really stretching in my mind. -

Can't drop components on new page after upgrading to Update 5
Please need some help.
Today I upgraded to Update5. I created a new page in an elder project, created with the prev version.
When trying to drop a component on the Designer a got following error-message: You cannot drop components on plan HTML documents, only on web forms.
Dropping a component on a prev created page went well.
I created a new project, created a new page and dropping a component was OK.
Then I examined the source in the misbehaving project. The newer template code differs from the elder. But the newer template codes matches in both projects.
Following the code and my log.
thx in advance, gerald
This is the newer template code:

It's possible there are errors in your project and
because the previous release wasn't as strict in
detecting errors.
Update 5 is more strict.
One thing you can do is make sure in your Java source
files that all references are accounted for.
e.g. If you have any library references (jars mounted, such
as Web services) make sure all jars are available
Also, if you're using getContext() method in any of your
Java source, temporarily change this method to getFacesContext()

Newbie to SJSC : Cannot drop component onto page NoClassDefFoundError
Hello,
I recently downloaded and installed Sun Java Studio Creator 2 (SJSC) and was trying the tutorial to get myself familiarized with it.
I cannot drop any JSF (not even standard or basic) onto the page1 JSP, i get this error:

I have read the forum extensively but cannot find any helpful topics so i decided to post.
I really appreciate your time for reading this far, if you have any ideas, please llet me know.
Thank you very much!!!!
Federico VelaSandeep,
Thank you for your reply.
Although it did not fix the issue, reinstalling to c:/sun/creator did change the error!
I get the big ugly red bar in the design view that says there are errors on the page.
Now the problem is an undefined symbol on the inheritance of the page
public class Page1 extends AbstractPageBean***cannot find symbol AbstractPageBean******
If i scroll up to the import statement
import com.sun.rave.web.ui.appbase.AbstractPageBean;***package com.sun.rave.web.ui.appbase does not exist*****
furthermore, if i try to compile i get the following error
C:\Documents and Settings\Federico Vela\My Documents\Creator\Projects\HelloWebTutorial\nbproject\build-impl.xml:371: Warning: Could not find file C:\Program Files\Sun\Creator2\rave2.0\modules\autoload\ext\errorhandler.jar to copy.I will try your suggestion of deleting the user folder. I'll let you know if I make any progress. Thanks a bunch.!!!

Error: Cannot drop schema because it is being referenced by object
My database has a schema with the same name as a user (let's call it 'username'). This schema was not explicitly created. I want to drop the User 'username' but I have to drop the schema 'username' first; However, when I tried to do that I got the message...
"Cannot drop schema 'username' because it is being referenced by object 'vw_Inventory'
There is a view named 'vw_Inventory' but I don't see where it's referencing this schema, or any schema for that matter. Why would I get this error and how do I resolve it so I can drop the Schema and User?
Darrell H BurnsIf a Schema has some objects in it, then you cannot drop that Schema until you remove all the objects out of it. You can change the schema owner
to another database principal and drop the user like,
Alter Authorization ON Schema::username TO DBO; Drop User username;
other option would be
Transfer the username schema objects to a different schema and drop username schema and user like.
Alter Schema DBO Transfer Username.[OBEJECTNAME] ;
--need to repeat this until you transfer all objects under this schema
Drop Schema username;
Drop User username;

RC,
This behavior is stemming from a change in MP 7.0 MR2 to disable the MPWeb login for system profiles.
Thank You,
Gerry
