Z3 Compact is amazing! But can't get some things to work...

Hi everyone, this is my first Sony phone, which I bought to replace my Galaxy S4. Went this route because of the reported awesome battery life and because I was fed up with such a "big" phone, and wanted somethign smaller. The flagship-speced Z3 Compact was the obvious choice. I've only had it for close to 4 days, and I'm in love. Xperias Android Skin is so much smoother, complete and logical than Samsungs, while the phone is much cooler and premium-feeling. So far there's three things I can't figure out though. 1. By reading, it seems it's a common problem, some reporting some things fixed it, most don't Facebook Events and Birthdays to show up on the Calendar. My Galaxy S4 showed both. I've only managed to have events show up on my Calendar, but can;t figure out why Birthdays are not there, and how to add them. Any solutions? 2. Message/Notification counts. ON the Galaxy S4, Whatsapp and Line, for example, had a little balloon showing the number of unread messages/notification that the app was reporting. On my Z3 Compact, this is not the case, not even with something more "stock" such as Hangouts, which I use as default SMS client. I know it does such a thing, because the Email app does show the amount of unread emails in a orange-yellowish balloon. Help? Other than those two... I adore this phone. Got close to 60 hours of usual usage out of a single charge, with not a single moment of lag, performance drop or Stamina mode enablment.. That's witchcraft, if you ask me. 3. Email app: I can't find an option to have the client always show images by default, instead of always clicking "Show Images" and then "Always show images". Where can I set this up? I have the same problem with the synchronization of calendar and contacts the small size photos.Xperia with Facebook malfunctions and it's a flagship phone.Please indicate with this problem in a support, but did not get a solution.
I was hoping that after updating to Lollipop problem will be solved, but it did not happen.
You can make use applications Sync. ME and Calendar Sync for Facebook.

I have upgraded to ios5 but can't get wifi sync to work.

I have just upgraded to iOS5 but cant get wifi sync to work. The main itunes library is hosted on my imac. The message on the ipad (and iphone) is that it is waiting on my imac to be available but the imac is on and connected to the same network as the ipad. Is there something I need to do on the imac to get it to communicate with the ipad?

Installed Mobiliser 5.1 on RHEL but can't get the login to work

I installed Mobiliser 5.1 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux and was able to start the mobiliser platform and the WEB UI . But i try to logon to the portal at localhost:8082/portal/login i keep getting the ERROR "we are experiencing technical difficulties. please try again later". and i see the following in the log files :

Based off of your description there are two things that could be wrong here.
According to your logs you have a credential issue which is something that I am not sure how you decided to set up. I imagine that you followed these steps when dealing with credentials:
1. Created an encrypted credential using the com.sybase365.mobiliser.vanilla.cli-tools-5.1.3.PL01-CLIPasswordEncoderClient.jar in the {Mobiliser_HOME}/tools directory and placed it in the proper location within the MOB_CUSTOMERS_CREDENTIALS table in your database.
2. Created and encrypted preferences password based off of the plain password chosen in step 1, and placed encrypted value within the MOB_PREFERENCES table in your database
3. The preferences key that you used in step 2 is the same key that is specified in tthe context.xml file that is located in the WEB UI installation directory.
If you have done all of these things it is also possible that you may be attempting to log into the wrong portal.
There are two different portals; 1 for consumers and 1 for administrative users. If you attempt to log into the consumers portal with an administrative account you will get a login error, and vice versa.
My assumption is that you are following the standard deployment diagram that is specified in the installation guide.
If there is any confusion on the things that I asked you to check let me know and I will attempt to be a bit clearer, but based off of the information that you have provided these are things I would check first.

Bought new Macbook but can't get Aiport Express to work

Hello,
I just purchased a Macbook and am trying to connect wirelessly to my cable modem using my Airport Express that I was using with my iBook G4.
I had all my files transfered with Migration Assistant and when I opened Utilities under Applications and clicked on Airport Express Assistant I get a message "The AirPort Express Assistant requires AirPort %@ or later."
When I tried using the airport utility, it says that there is no base station found. I'm frustrated looking at the yellow blinking light on the airport express.
Could this mean that my airport express is too old for my new Macbook? It was purchased in 2004.
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

The Airport Express is not too old to use with your MacBook - it should work perfectly.
Try running an ethernet cable between the Airport Express and your MacBook, then run the Airport Utility and see if it can then "see" your Airport Express and allow you to configure it.

I can't get this thing to work!!!!

I plug my ipod into my computer at work where I have itunes installed and it shows that the ipod is updating, actually showing the songs getting transfered! When the update is complete, no songs appear on my ipod, no memory is used according to the "settings" "about" screen, but itunes on my computer recognizes it and shows 11 gigs used. I tried resetting a couple of times with the same result-no songs on my ipod. I had itunes on my computer long before I owned an ipod, so this is baffeling. I realize that I'm probably a computer idiot, but this should be simpler.

Can't get some websites to work after snow leopard install, java maybe?

I'm a day trader. I use TD Ameritrade every day to work on. I believe the real time streamer and level 2 quotes are all java based.
This past weekend I did the Snow Leopard install on my computer. Until this morning it seemed like all was well.
I go to ameritrade and try to log in and it keeps saying it doesn't recognize my log in. I called them and they are able to log into my account so its my computer. I went to the java preferences and there use to be a lot of java types there now there are just 2, could that some how be it?
Any suggestions?

Safari is a 64 bit application, is it worth starting the app in 32 bit mode and testing if it is any better.
use finder and highlight Safari in the applications directory, do a get Info (cmd i) and tick the 32 bit mode box and restart Safari.
If it does not help remember to revert back to 64 bit mode.

Can't get the software to work with Audigy 2

Hi, I have had my Audigy 2 ZS going on a year now and haven't had any problems. I recently made a clean install of Windows XP and upgraded to SP2 and all that. Now, I can get sound out of the card but can't get the software to work at all; cannot get the volume slider bar to appear when I click the icon (it appears in the task bar though and I get a small gray square where the slider should appear), the surround mixer does not show when I double click the volume icon, EAX conxole is a no go, get an empty error box when I try to start the Equaliser.
I have tried everything from simple re-install to clean sweep to praying to the pagan gods. I have alsoo tried updating the drivers of course.
I run XP on an Intel MoBo (on-boeard sound deactivated), 52RAM, ATI 9700 ALL-IN-WONDER.
DOES THE CREATIVE SOFTWARE DEPEND ON ANY WEIRD LITTLE WINDOWS SERVICE OR SETTING THAT I MIGHT HAVE CHANGED DURING SETUP?
This is quite infuriating as any idea I come up with takes up a lot of time in installation, uninstallation and clean up. It worked before, why not now?

Ok I got it to work. This is the reply I got from Creative but I didn't remove the program from the add/remove option on the PC b/c that didn't work at first. I inserted the installation CD and remove it from that wizard. Rebooted and the PC found new hardware. I then installed the driver and software from the CD and now it works.
For Mediasource. It appears something was corrupted in Mediasource or there is a conflict within the system.Please uninstall all software and drivers for the soundcard, from add/remove programs. Once this is done, shut down the system and changePCI slots for the soundcard, then turn the system back on, cancel the found new hardware wizard, disable all background applications (especially virus scanner, firewall, and any other background applications running in the bottom right hand corner of the system), andthen perform a full reinstallation of the drivers and software from the soundcard installation cd.
CAT I hope you fix your sound card. Good luck.

Alright now if you are talking about issues using Safari, here a few things that you can try.
1. Quit Safari completely and restart the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
2. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
3. Clear Safari. Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

If it's showing the red disabled screen due to incorrect passcodes then you may need to put the iPad into recovery mode : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808 - you should then be able to reset the iPad via your computer's iTunes and restore/resync your content to it

I'm finding apple tv hateful. I can't get the volume to work, I can't get anything shared from my laptop or desktop, I can't really deal with a remote that seems to do so very, very little. I got passwords, ID's in, but now this is only a clutter box.

I believe I have Apple TV installed, but with no functionality. Was able to select a TV show but with voice from another show--couldn't ever get rid of that voice or do any volume changes. I have sharing set in itunes but can't get any music. Can't access any streaming from laptop, iPad, or desktop--all on same network.

In a roaming network, your "main" router is the device that would require port mapping/forwarding to be configured in order to access the IP camera from the Internet. This router is also the one that would be provide the private IP address for the camera which you will want to be a static one.
So as you described your network, the IP cameras should be getting an IP address or you assigned it a static one and this is the address that you would enter in the Private IP address (or equivalent depending on the router used) field when setting up port mapping.
If you are not able to access this camera from the local network, then this should be troubleshot first.

You have posted to the iTunes Match forum, which your question does not seem to be related to. Is your question concerning iTunes Match or syncing with iTunes via USB?

There are 12,733 songs, a few dozen of which are not going to be in the Apple music library because they are unique to my collection. Also, some titled "Track XX" and no artist. I assume these would either not upload or else just be uploaded. But, after an overnight of step 2, the iTunes match program was still on song number 7384 or 12733 (it was on that number for over 12 hours). Looking in the music library, activating the iCloud icon and status fields, there were hundreds of songs with the status "waiting."

Well it could still be a software problem if you installed a third party program after the OS X wipe and install, because by booting into Safe Mode it disables certain functions of OS X and hardware. Check for updates or problems for all your third party software, include everything, including menulets, System Preference panes, hacks and so forth.
If you restored any sort of software from backup like TimeMachine, it likely was corrupted data and now is returned.
If the college tech support found a lot of dust clogging the rear exhaust vents behind the fans, then likely the heat damage done to the machine has already occured and can't be reversed. Video cards are usually first to go, which Safe Mode does disable the video card somewhat.
Run through this list of fixes, it's systematic in nature, also has a Hardware Test to see what's going on
