ZENworks reporting

is there a way to set Common | Reporting | Events globally in eDirectory for hundred's of Application objects? I need to audit events such as 'Launch Success', etc etc. Will be extremely difficult to action these individually.

I have ZCM 10.1 installed on SUSE. I installed Reporting. The above is the
message when I go to reporting so here I sit. I can't seem to find anything
in the documentation to configure it other than a pointer to the SAP website.
    That isn't particularly helpful.
    Any pointers or advice?

Sorry it took me so long to see this reply. I started looking at your tids
and it turns out that Reporting is not installing. All I have is the xml log
which I am having trouble understanding. I have attached it as I am not sure

  • ZENworks Reporting Server & 64-bit

Hi, will it be possible, at some time, to install the ZENworks Reporting Server on a 64-bit OS? We are running right now ZCM 10.2. And when I try to install ZENworks Reporting Server with the DVD ZCM_REPORTING_10.1.0.iso all I get is an error message saying that it cannot run on a 64-bit OS.
    Thanks in advance for everything!

You need to use the 10.2 ZRS version with a 10.2 zone and this will work on 64bit as stated. One for linux and one for windows on download.novell.com.

  • There is no ZENworks Reporting Server configured

There is no ZENworks Reporting Server configured in the Management Zone.
This shows up on a fresh install of primary server (only server) in the ZCC under reporting I did not get any errors when I installed the server. This looks like a duplicate post from some Windows users but there was not much help there for me. Is the Reporting server not part of the default install? I see no errors in the logs and not sure how to proceed.
    Thanks

No, as you can see here: NOVELL: Downloads - Novell ZENworks 10 Configuration Management SP3 (10.3) Standard there is a separate ISO for the reporting server.

    Lisawilliams,
The bad news is it's an entirely new product, so there's no upgrade

reports automatically... The good news is that I think that this is
much easier to use than the old system...

  • Zenworks Reporting DB accuracy

    Hi there,
I've been experiencing some issues with Novell's Zenworks Reporting
Database. I have configured our applications which are NAL delivered to
report cache, distribution and launch successes to the Zenworks Database.
We are getting intermittent results. Some events are not being reported.
These are only for some applications and do not occur to the same
    application all the time.
When we use text files instead of the database, every event is recorded
    accurately.
Our Zenworks Database is the recommended Sybase database and my site has
    Zenworks 6.5 implemented.
I would very much prefer to use the database to store this information
rather than relying on a text (log) file solution. Has anyone else come
across this bug? Does anyone know of a solution?
    Thanks,
    David

it is no bug, so there is no solution..
application reporting is fire and forget, nal doesn't care if the data
reaches the target, so it can happen that information is not entered into
    the database.
also you should know that if you do reporting into a file and that file is
not accessable you can not launch the application

  • ZENworks Reporting Java Infoview error

We are getting an error when trying to launch our reporting server. It was working properly about 2 weeks ago, but we hadn't tried it since until now. I have tried restarting all the zen services and the whole server, recreating the super admin accounts, and manually starting BobjEnterprise120 from the /etc/init.d directory. We are runing ZCM 10.2. attached is the exception output of the zcc.log.
Thank you for any other suggestions.

The firewall on our server is disabled. Is there anyway to see what process is causing the conflict on the start port? I have looked in the output of netstat and i'm not seeing anything listen on the 6400 port. Any other thoughts? We were really hoping to leverage the reporting server feature of Zenworks.

  • ZENworks Reporting Server Install Problems

I am trying to install ZRS onto my SLES10SP1 ZCM10.1 server. The database is on MS SQL 2005 Standard Edition. According to the documentation for 10.1 this is supposed to work. Attached is the log file for the installation.

  • Reporting Services? - sorry, none here

Okay, I updated my Windows 2003 server to ZEN 10.1. I have just the one
server and all of my data and my database are here. The install went
great, very smooth. I've got a couple of issues that I'll address under
    different topics.
Now, I followed the instructions and removed BOE after I did the install
and installed the new version. It failed. Really, not just the error
message that if you dig into the documentation you are told to ignore -
that should really be in the install documentation, not just the admin
    documentation.
Anyway, It looked like the previous install had left some junk behind so
I renamed the ..\boe and ..\boe-publish folders and deleted the old
shortcuts that hadn't been deleted and did the install again. This time
it actually installed some stuff. Lots of stuff but the error message
that the install had failed came up again. So, I ignored it this time.
Restarted the server and had a whole boatload of BOE errors in the Event
log. Opened the Central Configuration Manager tool and discovered that
my CMS and a handful of other services were not running. So, I started
the CMS and the others and restarted again.
.... More BOE errors but the CMS is started this time. Based on the
Event viewer messages, it looks like the SQL service did not though.
And, ZEN still tells me in the Console that 'There is no ZENworks
Reporting Server configured in the Management Zone.'
So, I'm stuck again with reporting. It seems to me that some of this is
WAY more complex than what I need but that there isn't really an in between.
Some of the error messages that are in the event viewer are:
The CMS Server and the Crystal Reports Cache server both started but
    then....
CMS startup: component MySQLAuditDBSS could not be loaded.
Failed to register with the CMS D4Z8BX41. Please make sure the CMS is up
and running. Attempting an automatic retry... (there are several of
    these for different processes).
Some guidance on this would be appreciated.

Grrr... I just read in the instructions to uninstall the old version
after the server upgrade. I did it through Add/Remove programs but it
didn't remove the folders so I renamed them and then did the install.
Obviously this didn't work. I was getting short on nerves the other day
too so I apologize for 'venting' in the forum.
For now, I've uninstalled BOE again using the zrsuninstall.exe and am
going to leave it at that. We don't have Asset Mgmt and so I'm not sure
I want to run all of that on a server that I'm already stressing out
with the rest of ZEN. I can still get some basic query type reports as
    it is.

  • Hardware Summary Report export

Using ConsoleOne, and performing a Zenworks Report (Hardware Summary
Report), this is OK but I need to export it to an Access database.
It exports, but half the info on the Zen report is not exported (Current
Speed and HD Size). I've tried exporting to other formats like CSV but it
still does not export all the fields.
Failing this, I tried importing the Zen Inventory tables using ODBC. I've
pieced together bits of info and some of the tables that have the info I
need, but I do not know how the tables are related to each other.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • Report of encrypted devices

    Hi,
we need a reliable report out of ZENworks (or ZENworks Reporting 5) which shows us which devices are encrypted and which are not. I did not find any report which is giving me the data I am looking for and I dont know how to create this report by myself.
We have one "Disk Encryption Policy" which is deployed device-by-device. If I just take a look at the "Policy Status -> Devices Succeeded" it came out that not all of them are really encrypted with PBA as sometimes it can happen that the encryption-progress just dont start correctly.
Does anyone got a report or another idea for this?
Thanks in advance and kind regards
