Zero compression vs. input readiness

hi...
i designed an input ready BI7.0 planning querie. the query is integrated in an excel-workbook. now i have the strange fact, that my querie isn´t ready for input when i change the querie properties for zero compression, because i would like to see only the lines with data in my query aaaaand i will have the possibility to change this values!?
any experiences? thx. for help!

Hello Labros,
There is nothing in your application which controls which portion executes first.  The read might happen before the write occurs.  Also, typically you want to use a while loop to run "continuously" instead of using the run continuously button.  Finally, if you create and run a task, you should also stop and clear the task.  It looks like you have a good start with your application.  Keep these suggestions in mind as you continue to develop your program.
I would like to point you to the LabVIEW example programs.  Select "Help>>Find Examples".  Next choose to "Browse by Task". Select "Hardware Input & Output>>NI-DAQmx>>Synchronization>>Muti-Function".  Please reference either "Multi-Function Synch AI-AO" or "Multi-Function Synch AI-AO Ext Digital Trigger".  These examples are well documented, fully tested and should help you with your application.
I hope this helps,

  • Input ready based on the year 2010-11

    HI ,
In my input ready query, the user has to enter the fiscal year and fiscal year/period for entering the data in the respective months. I select the fiscal year as 2010 means, it has to allow the fiscal year/ periods from Apr 2010 to Mar - 2011. But in my case it is not showing Jan-11, Feb-11, Mar-11, when I select the fiscal year as 2010. Fiscal year varient is V3 from Apr - Mar.
In the same case if I enter the year as 2010 - 2011(interval) at the runtime, it will show as input ready, but in the calculation of my formula function it is calculating for only 1 year. For the months Jan-11, Feb-11, Mar-11 it is showing zero. How can I write a planning Function to calculate depreciation.
    Regards
    Rajesh

    HI,
    Thanks for your replies..
    @ Bindu,
I am not resticting 0FISCYEAR in the global filter as well as in the filter associated with planning function. If the user selects 2010, 2010 and 3 months of 2011 also displaying for input ready. But when I execute the planning function, it is execting for 1 year only. it is not calculated for the 3 months of 2011.
In this case, I wrote the condition that, if Posting period = 010 or 011 or 012 take the year as year+1. Eventhough it is not calculating "Depreciation".
    @ Matthias,
The variables which I am using are 0FISCYEAR (Interval), 0FISCPER (Multiple Single Values) and the formula function is based on 0FISCYEAR and 0FISCPER3 to calculate "Depreciation".
Normally as per my idea, if we select the fiscal year 2010-2011, it is has to allow to enter the values for the months from Apr-10 to Mar-11. it is allowing to enter the values. But it is not calculating.. If I select the year 2010, then it is calculating "Depreciation" from Jan-10 to Dec-10, like Calendear year.
Please give me some inputs to calculate "depreciation"
    Thanks and Regards
    Rajesh

  • How to set input ready query cell is different color?

    Dear All
Hi, everyone, hereby i have a IP question.
i would like to know, how to set the input ready query's cell different color between those cell which is unable to change value one in workbook..?
    Example :
For my workbook which have a input ready query,
i have 4 rows for my input ready query report.
For the first row which is not input ready cell and unable to change any value for the cell, then following rows's cell can be change value,
so, i would like to make first row's color cell different with following row's cell.
In additional, all value of cell is initial zero.
therefore, is there any mehtod to make different color between able cell and unable cell?
    Thanks a million.
    Regards,
    WenLong.

Cells in the input ready query result have different styles given by SAP. All rows will have one style, column headings will have one style whereas input ready cells will have one style. If you are in Excel 2003, put cursor in the input ready cell, goto format -> style, you can see one BeX style attached to that cell, apply watever color you want for that style, save the workbook. If you do this for one cell, it will be applied to all the input ready cells by default. In the same way you can give different color to the non input ready cell styles. In Excel 2007, Cell styles are available in Home -> Cell styles. Here you can see all Bex related styles.

  • Convert to Formula using input ready queries

    Hi,
Has anyone used converting to formula for input ready queries?  When I use this for some reason all the values disappear in the rows and columns (including characteristic and key figure values).  I would be interested to know if anyone has used this approach successfully.

  • Input ready query is not showing loaded data in the cube

    Dear Experts,
In Input ready query we have problem that it is not showing the values which was not entered by throught hat query. Is any settings in input ready query that we can do to populate the loaded data on the cube as well as data entered through Input ready query itself.
    Thanks,
    Gopi R

    Hi,
input ready queries always should display most recent data (i.e. all green and the yellow request). So you can check the status of the requests in the real-time InfoCube. There should exist only green requests and maybe at most one yellow request.
In addition you can try to delete the OLAP cache for the plan buffer query: Use RSRCACHE to do this. The technical names of the plan buffer query can be found as follows:
    1. InfoCube\!!1InfoCube, e.g. ZTSC0T003/!!1ZTSC0T003 if ZTSC0T003 is the technical name of the InfoCube
    2. MPRO\!!1MPRO, e.g. ZTSC0M002/!!1ZTSC0M002 if ZTSC0M002 is the technical name of the multiprovider
If the input ready query is defined on an aggregation level using a real-time InfoCube, the first case is relevant; if the aggregation level is defined on a multiprovider the second case is relevant. If the input-ready query is defined on a multiprovider containing aggregation levels again the first case is relevant (find the real-time InfoCubes used in the aggregation level).

  • Can not change data in Input Ready Query

    All,
I have created an input ready query on an aggreagation level which has one transactional cube underlying it however, after run the query I am unable to change data in the cells even though I get a warning message saying query is ready for input
    Note:
    1. The underlying realtime cube is in "Planning Mode:Loading not allowed" state in rsa1
    2. I tried including all characteristics so that the record can be uniquely identified at that aggregation level).
    3. I am not using any characteristic restrictions
    4. I have not set any data slices
    5. I have set the property for Planning "Start query in Change Mode"
    6. I have set the 'Key Figure' Planning Properties to "Can be changed Manually or via Planning Functions" for the key figures
    7. I do not have currency/unit in row/column.
    8. There are any locks occurring
    Any pointers welcome.
    Thanks,
    Milind

    Hi Milind,
Was wondering how was your problem solved. I get the same message when I run the query in web from query designer and in bex analyzer the cells are not updated with the changes that I make.
I am hitting my head against the wall to figure what could be the problem as my plan query is simply based on aggregation level created directlty upon the real time info cube.
Have cross checked all the points that you mentioned in this post but I cells do not change.
There should be some way around to solve this problem.
    Thanks

  • Input ready query and display only rows

I am trying to replicate scenario which is equivalent to creating manual layout in SEM-BPS with settings for layout category - Key Figures in Data columns, and rows defined individually.  In this version it is possible to restrict certain rows as comparision only.
How can I acheive this using Input ready query? In my query I have created a strucure for Planning Items, but I am not able to show certain planning item selections as display only.
    Any thoughts?

    Hello Gregor,
    Thanks for you answer.
I already have two structures as mentioned by you.
Can you please let me know what exactly you meant by set the input flag on the cell level? What settings I have to change to set the flag, do I have to use any formula?  In my example I have three rows for Planning item row structure and I want only one row to be selected as display only row.

  • How to include more than one input ready rows in analyzer

    Hi Gurus,
I have a requirement that, I need to have more than one input ready rows at the end of the query output in analyzer.
Normally it will show only one row as input ready at end of the query result in any manual planning analyzer., But my requirement is to have multiple input ready rows in analyzer. Is it possible in workbook/analyzer?.

  • Key Figure in a Input Ready Query

I have 9 key figures in my input ready query. 5 of them are not input ready and being loaded through a job and 4 are input ready. There is a problem with one key figure, I am able to see data for the key figure when i have START QUERY IN THE CHANGE MODE turned off. But once I turn it on it is not showing any data for the key figure. This is happening only wiht that key figure, all the other key figures are working fine. Could someone help fixing this
    Thanks

    Hi,
I do face this type problem during my BI IP implemenation project. Pls chk thoroughly the following points.
1.The planning mode of your real-time infocube should be on always on( you need change from load to planning mode, while inputting data).
2.The START QUERY IN THE CHANGE MODE , should be on.
3.In the planning tab of key figures, ensure you enable the button : Data can be changed using planning functions.
4.In the advanced tab of key figures, pls make sure to enable the right button( Master data).
5.Pls make sure  , the real time infocube, aggregation levels, filters etc, should be refreshed & active,if make any changes in planning model in between, in Aggregation levels, filters etc.
    6. Pls chk the locks( SM12) always, and delete all of them, if any.
    7. Log-off the  Server (BEX/DWWB) and restart the BEX ,then open your Input query, it should work .

  • SAP BI - OLAP variable in DTP unable to read from input ready variable in query

    Hello,
    Here's the problem:
We have a process chain which is launched in a WAD.
We would like to filter the DTPs in the PC with the values entered in the variable screen of the WAD
I created a variable of type customer exit X which reads the input ready variable Y in CMOD.
Customer exit variable X was placed in the filter of the DTP.
The input ready variable Y in the query contained in the WAD.
I am getting an error that customer exit variable X is getting not value.
Is it possible to read an input ready variable in a customer exit variable placed in a DTP?
Or am I missing a step here?
    Please help.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Anjalee,
Maybe it would be good to share a bit more information on your scenario and the chosen solution design. I am currently missing the point of triggering a Process Chain using Web Application Designer.
Anyway, I recommend to be careful with using OLAP variables in DTP filters. For sure not all functionality is present, e.g. because the variable pop-up is absent. Your constellation of an input ready variable and a customer-exit variable will only work in the context of a BEx Query and probably not if used in a DTP filter.
    Best regards,
    Sander

  • Read only rows in input-ready query ?

    Hi experts,
I would appreciate your advice on the following issue: I have built an input ready querry with structures both in the rows and columns area. The aim is to make some of the rows read only.
I have tried to set the elements that I only need for display to "Not Input-Ready (Not relevant for locking) in the Planning Tab, for the rows structure, but this doesn't work. It seems that the setting to "Inpou Ready" for the columns tkaes precedence...
If you can think of any other way to solve this problem, please post a reply.
    thanks in advance!
    Andreea

    Hello Andreea,
set a data slice on the values which you do nat want to be changed.
Or exclude the values from the planning filter and include them into query with constant selection.

  • How to write data in the Infocube using BI IP input ready functionality

    Hi All,
Please help me in the following scenario...
Input given to me is-- ZCUBSDID cube with associated role ZSP_BW_SAI_BUDGETS-DID_ALL.
Query is ZR_V7_CO_PA_CH_PB_DID_BUDGET_2 based on agregation level ZALBSDID (& ZALBVDID) in infoarea ZDACOPA.
I have to write data in the cube by using Input-Ready functionality of BI IP. Can you please provide me step by step procedure for writing the data in the cube as i am very new in IP side.
Also if any further input required just let me know.
My Analysis-> I checked that cube is in Planning mode and in Query Designer>Property Pane-->Planning Pane, Query is in Change mode and also associated Keyfigures are in Input-Ready enabled.
Also i am able to access query in Analyzer.
This is very critical for me and need to provide solution asap. Please update asap. It really be great help.
    Thanks & Regards
    Rupali Singh

    Hi,
To enter data in to planning cube through manual planning, you can do the following,
    1. In a query that is used for manual planning, a cell is only input ready if each characteristic value of all the characteristics included in the aggregation level is unique. None of the aggregated values on the aggregation level are therefore input ready: Totals, subtotals and inner hierarchy nodes are not input ready.
    2. To be able to change values for calculated key figures (like Average Price as a quotient of Amount and Quantity), these must be based on input-ready formulas, and at least one operand must be input ready. More information: Defining Inverse Formulas (Designtime) and Inverse Formulas (Runtime).
    3. In order to change aggregated values (with respect to the aggregation level), these values must be disaggregated on all the data records that contribute to the aggregated value of the cell. More information: Disaggregation (Top-Down-Distribution).
    4. If a query used for manual planning includes a navigation attribute that is restricted using a fixed or dynamic filter or a restricted key figure, the system treats the navigation attribute as a normal characteristic. The rule under point 1 applies here. The system only reacts as though the navigation attribute were not part of the query if the navigation attribute is not restricted.
    5. In a query defined on a MultiProvider or a complex aggregation level that you want to use manual planning for, a cell is not input ready if the InfoProvider that is defined by this cell is:
                                a.      Not a real-time InfoCube
                                b.      A real-time InfoCube that has been switched to load mode
    6. If an input-ready query is executed in change mode, but the requested data is locked by another user, the query starts in display mode.

  • Workbook does not contain any input-ready variables

    Hello Experts,
We have one workbook which is not reacting when click on REFRESH or SHOW VARIABLE.
If clicked on VARIABLE screen it is throwing error "The workbook does not contain any input-ready variables" (screenshot attached)
Points I have checked are as below
    1. If I create a new workbook by executing the respective query and refresh then it is working.
    2. The file is in xls format and I have checked the USE XLS format under Global setting.
    3. My Excel version is 2010. SAP version is SAPKW70105. BEx 7.X, support package 8.
    4. It is not authorization issue otherwise the issue would have happened for the new workbook I created for testing.
    5. Also I tested with user ID with SAP ALL access.
is there any way to repair the workbook so that it respond to Variable and refresh options ?

  • How to create an Input Ready Query in Bex Excel with no transact data

    Hi
We created a query where we want the user to put in NEW LINES. This query has in general no data when user starts planning.
We have 2 front-ends for this, Bex Web and Excel. Both shows initial 'no data available
BexWeb': Implementing the command set_data_entry_mode we get all the relevant columns for the input
Excel: Command set_data_entry_mode or set_input_mode does not allow the users to insert new lines. Still error message pops up 'no data available'
Do you have a solution for that ?
    Regards,
    Thomas

    Hi Gregor,
In the note 1149346 that you have mentioned, it says -
You must start the input-ready query in change mode.
BEx Analyzer: In the properties of the analysis grid, the switch
"Suppress new rows" must not be set.  Furthermore,
the switch "Allow entry of plant values"
must be set in the local query properties.
I have not seen this setting Allow entry of plant values in a query - can you tell what is refers to?

In query properties in BEx query designer you have to do settings to - Display document links
For metadata, master data, and InfoProvider data for a query, you can display links to Documents that you have created for these objects. If documents exist for these objects, the symbol  appears next to these objects. If you click on this symbol, you jump to where the document is displayed on the Web.
Highlight the appropriate setting so that the document links for the desired document class are displayed. The document classes are oriented to the various categories of BW objects. InfoProvider data, metadata and master data.
