Zero is getting truncated while XI is creating a CSV file

Hi,
Scenario is IDOC to File.
in the IDOC i get some Serial number as 00000007856465 in the output CSV file i need this value as 07856465
Here when i run this map in the ESR Message mapping i could see 07856465 this value fine but while posting at the output directory the values are dropped with zeros truncated.
in the output CSV file -- the value is -- 7856465
Could you please help me out in solving this issue.
Thanks,
--Sai.

Hi Sai Krishna,
As said by Bhaskar, use Formatnum function or UDF in your mapping. So that you would be able to get the 0's in the output.
I would prefer to go with FormatNum function.
Check the UDF provided by Raja Shekar in the below thread:
UDF for leading zero's in message mapping

  • Getting CLOB fron Database then creating a CSV File

    Hi,
    I am trying to read a CLOB for the DB in my Backing Bean with the help of EJB.
    The code in my backing bean is:
    char[] strReportContent = reportObj.getReportText();The API where the accessors for getReportText() is;
      @Lob
      @Column(name="REPORT_TEXT")
      public char[] getReportText()
        return reportText;
      public void setReportText(char[] reportText)
        this.reportText = reportText;
      }The problem is that when I do a system out on strReportContent I get a garbage value and not what is in the DB.
    Please Help.
    Then to render it on the CSV the code is:
      // Init servlet response.
          response.reset();
          response.setContentType("plain/text");
          // response.setContentLength(input.available());
          response.setHeader("Content-disposition",
                             "inline; filename=\"" + selectedReportId.getReportName() + "\"");
          output =
              new BufferedOutputStream(response.getOutputStream(), DEFAULT_BUFFER_SIZE);
    char[] strReportContent = reportObj.getReportText();
    output.write(strReportContent.toString().getBytes(), 0, strReportContent.length);

    Hi,
    I am not removing any zeroes . I created the same file in .txt format and XI was able to write the value 008.2010 to the txt file.
    I suppose this has somehting to do with excel file properties . By default when we add 008.2010 in the excel sheet , it takes only 8.201. We need to change the format to "text" manually in the excel file to take in zeroes as well.
    So , i really dont know how to make sure that the excel file properties does not truncate zeroes while XI is creating the CSV file.

  • Data getting truncated while exporting report to a text file in crystal 10?

    Hi All,
    I am using crystal 10.When exporting report to a text file ,a dialog prompts asking for Character perinch with a default value 9.If I change the value from 9 to 16 i am getting the correct data(that means character per inch value is 16) and it update "CharPerInch" value in registry under following location to 16.
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Crystal Decisions\10.0\Crystal Reports\Export\Text
    The dialog asked for character per inch also has option to select not to prompt again and i also selected that in first go.
    When i export the report again in text format it didn't prompt for number of character per inch but the data gets truncated.
    What i believe is even though it updates entry in registry and reads, it is not using the same value for export. It never consider the value that is in registry, if the check box is not selected then it is using the value entered in the dialog and if the check box is selected then in the next run it uses the default value as 9.
    Can anyone suggest me how to override this problem ? Is there any other setting place in registry where i can enter the number of character per inch.I don't want to crystal to prompt always for character per inch.

    Hi Venkateswaran,
    The other option to avoid truncation of the data could be
    Right click the text filed
    Click on Format Text to open the Format Editor
    On Common tab check the text box for Can Grow.
    This will prevent the data from truncating in preview as well as while exporting to text.
    Otherwise you will have to set the characters per inch to 16 each time. I donu2019t see changing the registry value causing any difference here.

  • How to create a csv file with NCS attributes?

    Hi
    i installed Cisco Prime NCS and trying to perform bulk update of device credentials with csv file.
    How to create a csv file with all required attributes?
    This is part of NCS online help talking about this topic:
    Bulk Update Devices—To update the device credentials in a bulk, select Bulk Update Devices from the Select a command drop-down list. The Bulk Update Devices page appears.You can choose a CSV file.
    Note        The CSV file contains a list of devices to be updated, one device per line. Each line is a comma separated list of device attributes. The first line describes the attributes included. The IP address attribute is mandatory.
    Bellow is test csv file i created but does not work:
    10.64.160.31,v2c,2,10,snmpcomm,ssh,zeus,password,password,enablepwd,enablepwd,60
    10.64.160.31,v2c,2,10,snmpcomm,ssh,zeus,password,password,enablepwd,enablepwd,60
    The error i am getting while importing this file:
    Missing mandatory field [ip_address] on header line:10.64.160.31,v2c,2,10,snmpcomm,ssh,zeus,password,password,enablepwd,enablepwd,60
    Assistance appreciated.

    It looks like the IP address field is incorrectly set.,
    It should be as follows
    {Device IP},{Device Subnet Mask}, etc etc
    so a practical example of the aboove could be (i dont know if this is completely correct after the IP address / Subnet Mask)
    10.64.160.31,255.255.255.0,v2c,2,10,snmpcomm,ssh,zeus,password,password,enablepwd,enablepwd,60

  • Issue when creating a CSV file

    Stupid issue but I've tried to fix it all day and it's not working...
    I need to create a CSV file made up of 3 columns, 2 number and 1 char. The char column is a company name that has spaces in it. When I run the query in SQL Developer, the char column looks fine. When I run in in BiPub as a CSV, I get double-quotes around the char column. It looks fine if I would look at it as DATA or any other format.
    I can't use the REPLACE function because there's nothing wrong with the data.
    We're using BI Pub v.10.1.3.4.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks!!
    Kris

    First I tried using a basic rtf file and just selected CSV as the type. Then I tried using the 'e-text template' and selecting CSV, same result. Now I'm trying to use an .xsl file instead of a .rtf to see if that works.

  • Create a csv file and send it in an email

    In coldfusion, is it possible to  create a csv file and send it in an email, without ever saving that file on the hard drive?

    Yes, you can create an email attachment without writing a file to disk.  This feature was introduced in CF 8.0.1.
    I've posted a sample to a previous thread on the forums.

  • Notes getting truncated while importing excel to MS project

    Hi All
    I am importing an excel sheet to MS project 2010 through import map. There are some notes related to tasks that are longer than 255 words in length. When the project map is completed, all the fields are fine other than the notes field. The data in notes
    field gets truncated to 126 characters. Can someone help me out on this.
    Udyan

    To those who may be interested in this thread.
    The jury is still out on whether this truncation bug is also present in Project 2013/Excel 2013. Meanwhile I've developed a macro that will export a formatted Excel Workbook into Project. The macro is structured to run from Excel. The main purpose of the
    macro is to export the full notes text data, (i.e. no truncation even at 255 characters), from a specified column on the Excel Worksheet into the Notes field of Project. Other basic Project data including Task Name, Outline level, Duration, Start,  &
    Resource Names are also exported. An example of the formatted Excel Worksheet is shown below.
    If you are interested in this macro, let me know.
    John
    Example of formatted data for export. Note that multiple resource assignments per task are handled (not easily done with an import map alone). The macro detects the units used in the worksheet duration column (i.e. number only,  or number with "h",
    "d", or "w") such that the proper data is exported to Project (i.e. minutes). For reference the note text shown for Task b is the text string that is truncated at 126 characters when using a simple import map. That bug is resolved by the macro. The notes text
    for Task c is is 406 characters and all of them are exported by the macro (i.e. no truncation at 255 characters). The notes text for Task d has a line feed in the text string and that is exported by the macro.

  • ALV truncation while download using  List--Save/send--File--Spread sheet

    Experts,
    In ALV output, I am trying to download using menu item
    "List --> Save/send  --> File --> Spread sheet" then in the popup appears
    here if i GIVE the FILE NAME THEN,material number is getting truncated.
    If I don't give any file name it is storing as ".xls" and not getting truncated.
    How to correct this or avoid this truncation.
    OR
    If we can't do correction about truncation ...my function consultant is asking to
    to disable "List --> Save/send  --> File".
    Thanks in advance.
    Sam

    Solved by my own....
    We need to pass
    i_fieldcat-no_zero = 'X'.
    so that the zeros at the end  won't get truncated.

  • SQL server 2014 and VS 2013 - BuilInsert task - truncate a field data of a CSV file and insert it to SQL table.

    Hello everyone,
    To move data from roughly 50 CSV files in a loop to SQL tables (table per CSV file), I've used BulkInsert task in For each loop container.
    Please know, for all different columns of all CSV files, the filed length was specified as varchar(255).
    It worked well for the first 6 files but on 7th file, it has found the data in one of the columns of CSV file, which exceeds the limit of 255 characters. I would like to truncate the data and insert the remaining data for this column. In other words, I would
    like to insert first 255 characters into table for this field and let the package execute further.
    Also, if I would use SQLBulkCopy in Script task, will it be able to resolve this problem? I believe, I would face the similar problem over there too. Although, would like to get confirmation for the same from experts.
    Can you please advise how to get rid of this truncation error?
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello! I suggest you add a derived column transformation between Source and Destination, use string functions to extract first 255 characters from the incoming field and send this output to destination field, that ways you can get rid of these sort of issues.
