Zsnes 1.42 fails to detect opengl libs

Hi there,
I'm new to archlinux (although not new to linux in general) and really like it so far. However I'm having some problems with compiling zsnes 1.42. For some reason zsnes fails to detect opengl.
I'm running libgl 7.0.3rc1-1 and mesa 7.0.3rc1-1 and use the intel video driver in X.
However the configure script from zsnes outputs:
checking for glGetError in -lGL... no
checking for OpenGL... no
my config.log
I'm using 1.42 and not the version available in pacman, because newer zsnes versions lack support for netplay.

  • [SOLVED] mpd: Failed to stat /var/lib/mpd/music: Permission denied

I've set up mpd according to the wiki.
    /etc/mpd.conf:
    music_directory "/var/lib/mpd/music"
    playlist_directory "/var/lib/mpd/playlists"
    db_file "/var/lib/mpd/mpd.db"
    log_file "/var/log/mpd/mpd.log"
    pid_file "/run/mpd/mpd.pid
    state_file "/var/lib/mpd/mpdstate"
    user "mpd"
    audio_output {
    type "pulse"
    name "My Pulse Output"
    # server "remote_server" # optional
    # sink "remote_server_sink" # optional
/var/lib/mpd/music is a symlink to /home/dennis/Musik/mpd/. I've given the mpd user recursive ownership to both /var/lib/mpd/ and /home/dennis/Musik/mpd/.
When I try to update the database (I've tried both mpc and Sonata), the log says
Failed to stat /var/lib/mpd/music: Permission denied
    What permission am I missing?
    SOLUTION:
I used the script config instead and it worked flawlessly.

It's working for me, I'm on 340xx nvidia drivers and using sddm+plasma. I even have nouveau installed in parallel (blacklisted).
I don't know if it makes any difference, but I'm using the -ck variant of the kernel and the nvidia driver. libgl part is still the same though:

    hi guys!
i am now trying to build my own live archlinux distribution with archiso and with the command "mkarchiso"

First run it, without any modification to learn how it works. Check if works. Modify as you need. Check if works...
Do not worry about the mkinitcpio error, because such initramfs images should not be used for boot live medium. You can see that profiles uses own mkinitcpio.conf with at least archiso hook
Running mkarchiso directly is not the right way, at least if you do not know how things works.
    [root@exequiel tmp]# cp -r /usr/share/archiso/configs/baseline .

  • Can't seem to install ati-driver opengl libs

    Hi there.
I recently recovered from a mis-upgrade to Xfree86-4.4 (using a Radeon 9600, which is unsupported).
Anyways, I just realized that I can't get 3d acceleration working. I did fglrxinfo, and the system says this:
OpenGL vendor string: Mesa project: www.mesa3d.org
OpenGL renderer string: Mesa GLX Indirect
OpenGL version string: 1.3 Mesa 4.0.4
According to an FAQ I came across, this is supposed to be the ATI's OpenGL libs.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Xfree86, did the same with the ATI Drivers, and recompiled the fglrx module multiple times, but it is still the same: no ATI OGL drivers installed.
    Can somebody help me? Please?
    /scratch

Lenovo Thinkpad W500, Intel (R), Windows 7, SP1, latest updates as of Oct 15
    (1) Checked Setting,  set to automatic update whenever, even changed to never update, rebooted the OS and changed back to automatic update and rebooted the OS.
    (2) Stopped Windows Update Services, renamed SoftwareDistribution folder and started the window update services and rebooted.
    (3) Ran MS FIXIT
    (4) Ran System File checker Scan (sfc /scannow)
    (5) Ran CHKDSK /F
    (6) Installed "Intel Rapid Storage Technology" drivers from Lenovo site
    (7) Ran Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB971033)
None of the above possible recommended solutions were able to fix the issue yet and now I am getting a message your Window is Not Genuine!
Any help or guidance is appreciated.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

The Lenovo System Update installed the "Intel Matrix Storage Manager driver 8.9.2.1002" right before the Windows Upgrade got broken. So in the Device Manager under IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers, I choose Intel ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller, on the Driver Tab, I choose the option "Roll Back Driver" and after rolling back the driver and restarting the OS, now Windows Update is working like a Champ!
    The End!

  • Getting an error in KPI Modeler as "{"customMessage":"failed to detect the sap language of the current session language","status":500}"

    Hi Experts,
We have installed UISKPI01 in SAP NetWeaver Gateway System for Fiori Analytical Apps (KPI modeler is necessary to model the KPI) but while trying to create and Save the Group, we are Getting an error in KPI Modeler as "{"customMessage":"failed to detect the sap language of the current session language","status":500}". Similarly, when we are trying to edit the existing KPI template and assigning the Variants and Evaluations, we are facing the same error as failed to detect the sap language of the current session language","status":500.
    Any idea on above error?
    Thanking you,
    ~ Mahendra

    Hello Mahendra,
Check if you have entries in the T002 table of SAP_SSB schema.
If not follow the steps mentioned in the admin guide of SAP Smart business to populate data.
    This should resolve this issue.
Note: My assumption is that, you are accessing the KPI modeler in English Language.
    Thanks,
    Debasish

  • Windows Install fails to detect VSTO 4.0 in Windows machine

I’ve to install excel based application developed in VS 2010.
Windows installer fails while detecting VSTO in Windows 7/8/8.1. Its perquisites are .Net framework 4.0 client frame work and VSTO 4.0.
Even we have installed VSTO manually and re-run our setup and again we are getting the same error (“Installer was not able to automatically download the VSTO installation”), the custom message. Don’t know what is blocking to detect VSTO on some particular
machine. I'm using only this condition "VSTORUNTIMEREDIST>="10.0.30319" as in Launch Conditions from last 3 years.
Now from last couple of months I'm getting this error when instating my application, somehow when I add another condition i.e. VSTORUNTIMEREDIST>="10.0.30319" OR OFFICERUNTIME>=”10.0.21022”, it works properly.
I want to know that is there any windows patch is released due to which my installer is not able to detect VSTO in machine.
    Thanks in advance.
    Thanks Utshek Jain

I have never seen the client profile mentioned in MSDN. For example, take a look at the

  • X fails to detect monitor supported resolutions

I have 3 monitors connected to a Radeon HD 7750, using the radeon driver:
Left: NEC MultiSync 90GX², 1280x1024, connected via DisplayPort-to-VGA adaptor
Middle: Samsung SyncMaster BX2335, 1920x1080, connected via DVI
Right: LG Flatron Wide, 1680x1050, connected via HDMI
On every reboot (warm or cold), X fails to detect the NEC monitor's supported resolutions. xrandr will only set it to 1024x768 or less, and it shows "no signal". However if I disconnect the VGA cable, plug it into another monitor (which is broken, but still powers on), and run xrandr again, it lists up to 1280x1024. If I then set the correct modes and layouts, then return the VGA cable to the NEC monitor, it works just fine. Turning the display off via xset doesn't cause any issue either. So on every reboot I have to move the cable to a spare monitor, set up xrandr, then move the cable back.
How can I save this working configuration and force X to apply it on boot even though the monitor for some reason claims to not support it?
I didn't have this issue with Ubuntu, but my setup was a bit different there, so possibly it just didn't manifest.
Here is the Xorg.0.log and journalctl -k from the most recent boot. The get-edid output is also interesting (and contains some control characters which pastebin removed).

The NEC on DVI would be only temporarily to get it's real edid-data .
Once you got that in a file, you can use a special kernel parameter at boot to force use of  the real edid-data for the NEC monitor.
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ke … s_and_EDID describes how it could be done.
Note that configuring this is tricky.

  • Acrobat X selection tool fails to detect paragraphs of text...

Acrobat X selection tool fails to detect paragraphs of text.  Manually selected paragraphs have broken sentences with line breaks.  This problem is also noticed when you attempt to triple click a paragraph and only one line of text is selected instead of a paragraph.  Can this be fixed?

can't it tell by the visual formatting of indents, text proximity/clusters, etc?  if humans can tell, why can't acrobat be trained to tell?

  • Failed to detect if this server is joined to a server farm

    Hi,
We run our intranet on a virtual server. the other day it crashed and we restored it from a previous point
However when we launch the intranet we just get a an unexpected error has occurred. I am able to get into central admin but that's about it
I though of maybe running the product config wizard but it get an error saying "failed to detect if this server is joined to a server farm. Possible reasons for this failure could be that you no longer have the appropriate permissions to the server
farm, the database server hosting the server farm is in responsive, the configuration database is inaccessible or this server has been removed from the server farm"
this is what the logs it tell you to look in says:

That is another classic symptom of a WD hard drive being jumpered as either a master or a slave when there is no other drive on the cable with it.  If the drive is the only drive on the cable, then remove the jumper from the drive.

  • Xw6400 fails to detect SSD

    Hello
I fitted a Samsung SSD to my xw6400, after updating the BIOS and applying the BIOS settings outlined elsewhere. I never did manage to get AHCI Mode actuivated, even after doing a complete reinstall of Windows 8 and 8.1, but the performance boost is quite good enough without it.
My concern is that sometimes when I restart the machine from Windows, it will fail to detect the SSD, which is the system drive. It doesn't happen often and it's not a big deal anyway, since, if I switch off and on again, it does always discover it at power-on. This may prove to be a problem, though, if I'm away from home and need to access the machine remotely. Of course, I could avoid it by switching off Windows automatic updates before I leave home, but the problem is being old, so I will probably forget.
Does anyone have any ideas how I can remedy this?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi:
If you are using a SATA III SSD, this may be the problem...

I had the same thing happen to me on my dc7800 CMT when I installed a SATA III WD mechanical hard drive.
When I put the HP 1 TB Seagate hard drive from my HP 8200 Elite into the dc7800, it worked just fine as did the WD SATA III drive in my 8200 Elite.

  • AE error: AE_OpenGL: Failed to create OpenGL context! Turning off OpenGL. (5065 :: 0)

    Dear all,
I have been reinstalling CS5 at least 10 times (without exagerating) and I keep having this error popping: AE error: AE_OpenGL: Failed to create OpenGL context! Turning off OpenGL. (5065 :: 0)
Every time I save it reappears and I don't have a clue what it is.
At first I thought it had something to do with my video card driver ATI HD radeon 5870 but everything seems fine and up to date there.
    Any clue?
    I would appreciate any help!!!
    Thanks,
    Etienne

Every time I save it reappears and I don't have a clue what it is.
Simply turn off OpenGL in the AE prefs.
everything seems fine and up to date there.
Mustn't mean anything. The latest drivers are not necessarily always the best/ most compatible ones and things like screen resolution sometimes have a strange influence as well... You could always try installing a different version, of course, but since AE realyl doesn't use OpenGL that much, that may be more trouble than it's worth...
