I have been attempting to re-install Firefox (per your instructions) with Internet Explorer, the only browser I have since Firefox went under.
I changed the Firefox folder to "Old Firefox" but now I am stuck for my attempts with a re-installation hang up "connecting" and the IX progress bar shows "Connecting to site eimg.net " and moves no further.
I really need your assistance. . . I require the new install of Firefox.

Now that you've renamed the folder, you just need to install a clean copy of Firefox.
If you don't have a working browser on the broken computer, you can download it on the computer you are chatting on now:
# Download the right version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html (Probably the US English version for Windows)
# When the file is saved, copy it to a flash drive, recordable CD/DVD, removable hard drive, digital camera card, or other disk.
# Take this disk to the computer where you renamed the folder, insert it, then run "Firefox Setup 3.6.7.exe" on this computer. Follow the steps to complete the install.

I occasionally have the need to export photos from the iPad to an SD card (photos that were imported using the camera kit). This is useful for e.g. to print photos while travelling. So far I have not found this functionality anywhere, including in any apps available on iTunes. Can anyone help?
The camera connection kit can only be used to import photo/video files from a camera, SD card or USB flash drive. You can't import other types of files. You can't export any type of files using the camera connection kit.

Waiting for activation have not found a way to fix this
Ok so I'm overseas and I cannot use cellular data because I don't want to get billed a crazy amount however when using wifi the first week I was here I was able to text and face time with no problem. Then we went for a week to the country with no solid internet connection however we set up a very weak hotspot using a tablet, that's when I noticed I wasn't able to text and I saw the message waiting for activation since it took around 5 mins to load a web page I figured it was just a problem with the internet and I ignored it. Now we are back in the city (where we were when it worked fine the first week) and I still have the same problem, I have read countless articles about how to fix this and nothing seems to work the only option I haven't tried is to wipe the phone and restore it with a backup however i can't do that since I am no where near my computer. So is there any one else having the same waiting for activation problem as me? Is there anything I can do, any help would be much appreciated.

If you see "Waiting for Activation", "Activation unsuccessful", or "An error occurred during activation"
These messages occur when your iPhone is trying to activate your phone number with iMessage or FaceTime.
To resolve these status messages, follow these steps. After each step, turn FaceTime and iMessage off and on again in Settings > Messages and Settings > FaceTime.
Update to the latest version of iOS.
Make sure that you have a cellular network connection with your cellular provider. You need a cellular network connection to activate iMessage and FaceTime with your iPhone phone number.
Go to www.apple.com in Safari to make sure that you have a data connection. You need a data connection to activate iMessage and FaceTime with your iPhone phone number.
Make sure that you can send and receive SMS. You need a valid SMS messaging plan to activate FaceTime and iMessage.
Make sure that FaceTime hasn't been restricted: tap Settings > General > Restrictions > FaceTime.

Is there an easy way to get my podcasts back into regular playlists?
I have an iPod Touch 4th Gen. One of the main things I use it for is to listen to podcasts in my car during my daily commute. I listen to a number of different podcasts, which I manage through iTunes. I use Smart Playlists to store the podcasts, and sync these to my iPod. Since my upgrade to iOS 8, this approach no longer works.
The Smart Playlists still exist, and still show as having contents in iTunes. However, they only show up on my iPod within the Podcasts app. It seems that Apple's new approach to managing podcasts means that they will no longer show up in normal playlists. I can get to them through the Podcasts app from Apple, and I have read various articles touting competing podcast apps as being even better. However, I don't want to mess with an app while I'm driving, for obvious reasons. My car (2010 Honda Civic) has fairly basic iPod integration built in, but it allows me to navigate through playlists by using the radio controls. The smart playlists meant to hold podcasts still appear in my car, but when I select any of them, it displays "1" (just "1"), and crashes.
I know Apple probably has bigger problems than this right now, but I would like to see my basic functionality restored. Accessing podcasts through the app is fine, but it doesn't seem necessary to have removed access through other ways, like through regular playlists.
If anyone has any ideas, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!I don't think it's possible anymore. I'm mildly surprised you were able to keep podcasts in regular playlists this long - I thought this option disappeared back with iOS7.

You said in your other thread that you 'remembered saving it' before the update started. Do you mean that you backed up your iPad to the cloud or to your computer's iTunes - did you do the update directly on your iPad or via your computer's iTunes ?
Or did you manually copy the photos and videos off yourself : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083 ? By default on a PC they would have been copied over to the 'My Pictures' folder on your computer.
And where/when are you now getting the 'apple iPad 0 files' ? Your computer's iTunes, windows camera wizard on a PC ? -
How can I get a parameter back into a servlet invoked from an IMG tag ?
I'm using a servlet to create several graphical plots per JSP i.e. per HTML page. Each graph is supposed to be different, according to a parameter which I want to pass back from my JSP. I'm getting several plots but they're all the same!
I've tried setting an attribute in the session object before each IMG SRC= , but all I get is each plot the same! In fact, my debugging efforts show that the servlet is only called once despite 3 calls, each with a different session parameter value. I'm not sure the session parameter values are getting used properly.
I just can't find a way of getting a parameter back into my servlet which is invoked from the IMG tag (i.e. SRC= "servlet name").
Can anyone tell me the best way to pass a parameter back into a servlet which is invoked from an IMG tag? Can the request object be used? I can't, at the moment, see how it could be used?

Obviously, I can't tell exactly what you did, but it sounds like you may have thought you were just putting it in the sidebar, but you actually put it somewhere else. The sidebar is not a location to put things, just a way to create a quick shortcut to access a file or folder, so you can't put things "back" from there.

Getting .emix files back into Mail
A disastrous experiment with Entourage 2008 ended up with my entire Exchange box being wiped from my server, losing two years of messages. However, as I'd previously used this account in Mail, I've managed to salvage the folders, which are full of .emix messages (from Library/Mail).
However, I can't work out any way of getting these messages back into Mail. The messages are intact as I can open them individually, and Spotlight includes them in search results, but I really need to get them back into Mail.
Any ideas?Since this is an Exchange account, I guess you’re talking about .imapmbox mailboxes, right?
If Preferences > Accounts > Advanced > Keep copies of messages for offline viewing was set to All messages and their attachments (the default setting), then Mail 2.x maintains a local copy of server-stored mailboxes using the exact same format it uses for locally stored mailboxes, except the suffix of the mailbox folder in the filesystem is .imapmbox instead of .mbox.
You cannot import .imapmbox mailboxes directly into Mail because when you do File > Import Mailboxes and choose Mail for Mac OS X as the data format, Mail looks for .mbox folders only, but if Keep copies of messages for offline viewing was set to All messages and their attachments throughout the lifetime of the mailboxes (or since before the last rebuild), you can easily overcome that limitation by just changing the suffix to .mbox.
After having changed the suffix to .mbox, do File > Import Mailboxes, choose Mail for Mac OS X as the data format, and follow the instructions. Note that Mail wants you to select the folder that contains the mailboxes to be imported (i.e. the folder where the .mbox folders to be imported reside), not the .mbox folders themselves. -
I got my Imac and Trackpad in may so its new and the batterys have run out on the trackpad, so i have put new batterys in and its not even turning back on i have tried the batterys the other way round ( i used duracell) and still not working, so i put the old batterys in and it still wont turn on. Edge has very clear restrictions, one being that you must have 6 months of clean payment history which you don't. Either wait until April 14, or good luck at Sprint.
I am unsure how it can be determined the payment mix up was the fault of CS, but regardless, the mix up was done. There can be any number of reasons why a payment could be missed without any fault on your part, however you are still the responsible party for the account and must live with the repercussions. -

The first thing to suspect is a completely drained battery. When this happens the iPad shuts down and will not turn on. Even if you charge the iPad it may take more than 30 minutes before it responds. Plug the iPad into the charger that came with it and plug the charger into a known good wall outlet. Do not charge the iPad by connecting it to a computer. Wait 30 minutes. Then reset the iPad. Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button continuously until the Apple logo appears. Then release the button and let the device restart. You will not lose data doing this. It's like a computer reboot.
If the iPad restarts let it continue to charge until the battery is at 100%. If the iPad does not restart consider making an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support. -
On starting up my new iPhone 4s, it freezes on the apple logo. I have tried the reset buttons trick and have tried restoring again too but neither works. Any other ideas? Or is the phone simply corrupt in some way?
Did you try to connect in recovery mode and restore without using the latest backup?

Did you try to remove the ipsw firmware file and restore, to make iTunes download a new copy from Apple?

My problem comes up in iMovie ’11 (v. 9.0.4/build 1634) and has done so from the beginning of my using the software.
I want to determine the length of time that I want a a still to show (in the context of stills and movie clips). However, I cannot reliably save the still’s length of time showing.
That applies to all stills: I doesn’t matter if I change the length of time individually for each still or check the box for »all clips«.
This looks like a veritable bug, doesn’t it? Has anyone found a way to get around it?I assume you are using transitions. This is not a bug - it is how iMovie handles transitions.
There are two settings for transition overlap - full and half. If you are using photos only, you may get the results you want by setting transition overlap to half.

We cannot get our iPad Air to charge. We have tried the wall plug and the computer plug in. It just gives a message saying it's not charging.
Could be the charger, cable or iPad. Plug the USB cable into your computer. It may say "Not Charging", however, it is charging slowly and will verify that the cable is good.
Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
