Additional Printer Added @ Every Power-On Cycle

(iMac 21.5", OS X 10.6.3, Canon MF4150 multifunction laser.)
This MF printer is only partially supported in OS X (no scan capability). Every time I power the computer on, a fax version of the printer is added. Locking the settings in System Preferences-- Printer/Fax doesn't prevent this from happening.
I guess I can keep going to System Preferences every week and deleting all the spurious printers that were installed-- but if you know how to solve this one, I'm all ears...

Are you saying that you are getting multiple instances of the fax version of the printer listed in System Preferences > Printer & Fax, or just one that you are trying to prevent from showing up?

Sun Netra 240 runs max level POST every power up

Hello, I have a Sun Netra 240 server box that on every power up runs the max level POST which takes a good 5 minutes to complete. I have the power key switch set to the normal position and not DIAG mode and I have the Diag-level set to "off" for the system configuration settings. Nothing gets reported as an error during the POST but it still continues to run full POST on every power cycle. Can anyone tell me what else to check or look at to make it stop? Thanks in advance.

I have no way to get a copy of this from the screen so I had to write it all down and hand jam it in. I only put my values, not the default values. These have not been changed though so I don't think it is any of these settings. Just for some background this server has been fine for the past year or so and then one day it just started doing this out of the blue.

Unable to print added text only in Acrobat Pro XI

User is trying to print added text that's been added to an existing PDF page. In Acrobat X she chose "Form fields only" under Comments & Forms from the Print menu. In XI it produces a blank page. The added text only shows up if she chooses Document or Document and Markups, but then she gets the entire document. She only wants the added text to print.

Thanks to all who commented here. I found that adding text using Tools>Content Editing>Add Text will not allow the user to print solely the added text. As everyone responded here, that's as designed. However, using Comment>Annotations>Add Text does allow the user to print solely the added text as she was used to doing in Acrobat X. I thought it was the same tool under two different headings, but obviously they interact differently in the print menu. Choosing Form fields only from the Print Menu's Comments & Forms panel will produce solely the text added under the Comment panel's Add Text tool without printing the rest of the document page. And the user doesn't have to turn the document into a form to do so.

When I am merging a Pages document, the header and graphic is only printing on every other page?

That is very hard to follow.
We have no idea what you are merging, nor what header or graphic you are referring to as we can not see the document.
My guess is that you are talking about something like a letterhead which has a logo and address only on the first page and none on the following pages.
Each merge is probably running over the 1st page and onto a following blank page. If you want the "Header and Graphic" to appear on subsequent pages as well then you will need to create master pages/objects for the following pages to suit.
This is how you go about doing it for a standard letterhead and follower:

Firefox prints only every other page on a bulk print run, why?

I use Firefox to bulk print Ebay invoices. It's been just fine for years. But 2 days ago it started printing just every other page in full. Intervening pages had only the top 20% printed (headers and footers are set to blank), and it prints one extra blank sheet at the end of the print run. 'Fit to page width' is enabled. I print at A5 size. When I check print preview it shows the problem exactly. The preview confirms 80% of every second page is missing, and there is an extra blank page at the end. Anyone else have this problem?

When you print, check to see which presets and defaults are selected. It could be a stored preference to only print every other.

I need some help regarding coding for the additional fields added to the infoset.
As a data source I have selected a direct read from table MARA. I need to display the description in all languages for the material chosen on the selection screen when the Query is executed in sq01.
I could have used a join between MARA and MAKT, but instead I have chosen to add an additional field
with the head 'material description' and coded the select for the material description as per matnr in the coding section.
The basic list display, only dislays one description, the last one and not all the possible descriptions in all languages.
What should be the probable code and where should i place that code for such an implementation.
Please suggest.

How to install downloaded "additional value-added content" for CS6?

I purchased CS6 and downloaded using Akamai Download Manager. In addition to the main CS6 download, there were additional files that are also available to download. There names indicate they are"additional value-added content not included in the trial version" of CS6. Downloading them leads to file folders that can be opened, and selecting the appropriate language folders leads to what appears to be a folder of fonts. Once this file folder is downloaded, how do I go about ensuring these fonts are actually installed on my (Mac) computer?

Like any font - you add them to your Fontbook utility.

Sorry that you are having a problem printing documents. Try to print a self test page or printer status report from the printer itself, and see if you get the same results.
Also try to make a copy of a document, and see if the poor printing continues.
Have you MANUALLY cleaned the print head? If you can take the print head out, clean with lint free cloth and water.

Get an additional column added to PWA Page which shows up the resource names

When we got to Project center and open up the respective project.By default the Tasks Summary window opens up.
Where in I can see the ID,Task Name,Duration,Start, Finish,% Complete,Work and Task State.
In one of the request a user wanted us to get an additional column added to this which shows up the Resource Names.
Note:
In the project plan what we publish to the server we used to have a resource name column.
Please let me know if it is possible to add a new column.

Your Project Server administrator will need to do the following:
Log into PWA with administrator permissions
Click the Server Settings link in the Quick Launch menu.
Click the Manage Views link in the Look and Feel section of the Server Settings page.
In the Project section, click the Task Summary view to open it for editing.
In the Available Fields list, select the Resource Names column, and then click the Add button to add it to the Displayed Fields list on the right.
Click the Save button.
Keep in mind that only your Project Server administrators can perform the above steps. Hope this helps.

HP Photosmart C310 Series Printer Display and power LED not lit...still able to print.

I am not sure what happened. I was printing, walked upstairs, came back down and the display and power LED on my Photosmart C310 were off. I thought the circuit for the outlet had tripped but that was not the case. I unplugged the printer, disconnected the power supply and let it sit for 2 minutes. Plugged it back in and nothing changed. Forced off printer/reboot?..nothing changed. Tried online utility. Useless. Is this common? Is there a solution? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
Have had problems with HP and Compaq in past and obviously made a mistake buying again. Product is past warranty and I am not willing to pay to speak with a "representative" who is on a computer using a diagnostic tree program literally taking shots in the dark. Thanks but no thanks HP. I experince the exact same issues and have for most of the time I have owned my C310A. I've gone through all the firmware upgrades, the useless patches etc. something is WRONG with the printer as my power modules continues to pump out the voltage after the printer shuts down(I've confirmed with a voltmeter). My printer will be printing a photo and the display will shut off, the power light and wireless LED lights go off BUT the photo continues to printer and the carriage will return to its resting spot THEN remain unresponsive till I go through the unplug routine. It's no wonder HP discontinued this printer and I'm throughly disgusted at tthe lack of quality in the components. I('ve gone through at leat 5 HP printers in the last6 years, each printer failing to either power issues or ink delivery systems. There is a very obvious lack of quality control. I feel as thoughHP sells the shoddy printers to force continual upgrades and flow of ink sales. The design and engineering and features of the C310 A is to be commended but the qulaity and reliabilty of the mfg. product is abysmaly horrible. HP once had a solid quality control methodology that was second to none now its just too little and too late.
