Client Export and Import (Speacially Import Procedures)

Dear All,
I have requirement to copy my production client's all data to Quality System's client.
What procedure should I follow?
If I am going to export and Import. I am not getting followings's Steps 2.3 to 2.6.
1. Client Export:
     1.1 Run SCC8
     1.2. Select Profile for desired copy type (Usually All SAP_ALL or user master only SAP_USER. You will need direction from
             the requester as to the correct selection here. Use Profile -> Display Profile to display profile details.)
     1.3. Select target System (or group)
     1.4. De- Select u201CTest Runu201D (If selected)
     1.5. Run Export
            - Up to 3 requests are created, depending on the data selected and available:
            I. u201CSIDKO00353u2033 for transporting client-independent data, if you have selected this
            II. u201CSIDKT00353u2033 for transporting client-specific data
            III. u201CSIDKX00353u2033 for transporting client-specific texts, provided texts are available in this client
     1.6.Monitor TP logs for errors and export files for growth
2. Client Import:
    2.1. Create client (scc4)
    2.2. Login to client (sap* u2013 pass)
    2.3. Manually add u201COu201D transport then u201CXu201D then u201CTu201D to TMS buffer
    2.4. Highlight #1 and use u201CRequest -> Importu201D to launch import tool
    2.5. Monitor u201CIu201D file in OS u201C/usr/sap/trans/tmpu201D dir for progress info
    2.6. After Import is complete perform u201Cpost processing stepsu201D from client tool (SCC7)           So if you have 3 transport requests and the data has been exported successfully then go for an import in quality system
Please let me know how will I Manually add u201COu201D transport then u201CXu201D then u201CTu201D to TMS buffer, Highlight #1 and use u201CRequest -> Importu201D to launch import tool, Monitor u201CIu201D file in OS u201C/usr/sap/trans/tmpu201D dir for progress info and After Import is complete perform u201Cpost processing stepsu201D from client tool (SCC7) .

Once u login to new client,
to Manually add u201COu201D transport then u201CXu201D then u201CTu201D to TMS buffer
go to STMS----> select the system
At top menu select
Extras --> Other Requests --> Add(here give the above created transport requests, 1 @ each time)
once u add those 3 trasnport requests u need to import them.
Highlight #1 and use u201CRequest -> Importu201D
for that from top menu select Request -> Import(Ctrl + F11)
coming to SCC7. its a tcode. execute the tcode and see.

Hi,
I am having one doubt regarding Client export and import
In my organization we are having three system landscape, but the Quality and Production server(In Process)
Development box is ready to use, and we are having another sand server in different location for our consultant practice
that system is not in our landscape and that is different location,i want to import that client in to my development server hear
It is possible to export that data from that Client(scc8) copy that in my development server and Import(scc7) is possible..?
if possible than what are the pre-requisites to do That Export and Import of client between two different systems,
what is best procedure to do this Task.......!

Not required but yes if the sandbox server is not in the landscape you have to create a Virtual System in sandbox and you have to configure the Transport, then only you would be able to create the export file

Speed up Client EXPORT and Client import

Hi,
how to speed up the client export/import process (from scc8/scc7)?
There is no profile,if we want User master records and the client specific data. then can we over write the client 2times first with user master data and then followed by client specific import.
Main requirement is to Export Production client Specific data and users with authorization as CLIENT EXPORT (finally we can import the requests generated by client export) after importing to DEV server once can use as Quality client.
please give your valuable suggestions in having client export and import to make Quality client in DEV server.
DEV and PRD patch levels are different (remote client copy will fail in RFC system comparison)

This is not a big issue.
You please find the TR list which are not moved PRD.
Goto PRD->STMS_IMPORT find the TR list (which are in white color symbol) not moved to PRD.
Then ask the respective consultant about TRs. Then re-import the TR in QAS. The old configuration will be occured in QAS. The TR which is moved to QAS, Now also it will be in green color only.But just re-import it and get the confirmation form respective consultant.But the user details will not available.

Foreign trade:export and foreign trade:import

i just want to know if we can maintain two different country of origin for foreign trade:export and foreign trade:import views in material master record.
Ex
scenario:- if i am importing a material from india and export the same to china.

the material that you import from india to export to China will not change its origin during this transition.
It the origin is India, it is still India even you export it from Singapur to China.
If you import this material from several sources and each has a different country of origin, then you can manage this only with batches, as you can maintain the CoO in the batch.

Problem in client export and import (SCC8)

Hi,
I was asked to copy client 300 data on one AIX server to client 210 on another AIX server.
I have done the client export thru SCC8,
transferred those files to other server thru ftp,
added those requests to the import queue on target server.
As and when the request is added to the import queue, the status is being shown in red. Is there a problem with this.
And when i imported the request it got cancelled and the message in log says
the data file is damaged,but the other request(HPRKX00006) is still running.
It has taken a lot of time,so we deleted the data and cofiles related to the requests
and retransported them from source machine.
Even after that the status of the request is shown in red when added to the import queue, and dosent allow to import because the subsequent request is still running
and gives an error saying the request HPRKX00006 is still running.
Suggest a suitable solution.

ECC Client export and import with BW data model

Dear BW Expert,
We are now have BW QAS system which is connecting to ECC600QAS.
Now we are going to:
     First >> Export data ECC600QAS.
     Second Drop this client
     Third Create client with the same logical name as ECC600QAS and then import again with the same logical system name is ECC600QAS. Ofcourse we will re-establish again connection between ECC600QAS and BW QAS.
In this case, do we need to create all data model or mapping data in BW again. Please help on this.

All your notes do not mention anything about in case Client refresh with the same logical name.
Our case is that we do:
      Step 1:         Export client logical name is "ECC600QAS".
      Step 2:         Drop client "ECC600QAS"
      Step 3:         Import again and create the same client logical name "ECC600QAS".
      In this case do we need to create again all data model, mappying rule or transformation.
      Really, I can not found any idea there in all your note.

Export and then re-import source files from InfoPath 2010

Hi all,
While looking in to my form being oddly large I exported all the source files and noticed that there was a large image file in there (which wasn't on any of the views, so I don't know how it was there). I need to delete this file, then re-import all the
files to become an InfoPath form again. Can someone please tell me how I do that? I don't seem to be able to find anything in the menus....

Hello Alex,
I don't think you can import modified infopath form to become a new form. Event you export forma nd delete any file or image then also you will get error when open the menifest.xsf file.
Better you try to find image in form and delete image from form itself. Just check all the views, form controls (specially hyperlink), to remove that image.

TS2481 Bad instructions for troubleshooting syncing contacts from my experience: going the vCard route as instructed did not preserve all group contacts. However, exporting and in turn importing an Address Book archive (.abbu) worked in place of the vCard

Apple should update the TS2481 instructions.

After I sent this initial post I did some more testing.
Creating a new Smart Group in my now working 10.5.5 address book which has a NOT conditional caused Address Book to lock-up again.
My Smart Group was pretty simple -- 'list all cards that are NOT a member of any group'.
So, the steps in the posting above do NOT fix the problem, they only identify a particular type of Smart Group which will cause a problem and how to get a version of Address Book working again.
I have not gone back and undertaken a thorough set of tests. I am just not going to create any new Smart Groups without first creating an Address Book Archive -- or alternatively overriding Library/Application Support/AddressBook from a Time Machine backup if there is a problem.

Client export import error

Hi...
I have completed client export and import sucessfully.i have follwed the procedure ..
by using scc8 i have taken client export...completed sucessfully..
And i was imported those request by using stms Extras->other request ->add request ...and the requests are imported sucessfully...
and at the time of postprocessing by using scc7 i got error related to tp..
everything is going fine, but one transaction code is hanged(strucke)... and that transaction is working properly in system where i was taken the export...
and one thing i want confirm , the issue is because of our client export import problem or it relates to functional problem
please give the suggestion..this is an urgent issue......

Yip, I think you are in a bit of a fix here.
I only took a quick look (this is the security forum... and I could not see any initial security relevance...), but I did notice 2 things:
As suspected, there are a handfull of client independent tables involved.
Even if you do the import into a client of the same system, you might still face problems, because one of those tables has MANDT as a field.
I have no idea what the reasoning behind this is... but my guess is that you are experiencing that which the transaction is designed to do after a client copy => it hangs.

I've made an export and import, the values of region, pageid...change?

I want to do an export and then an import of a group of pages. I want know if the values of the different pageid, regionid, etc, take different values when I do the import.
I have some procedures where I put the value of some regionid and I don't know if when I make the import I'll have to change these procedures or the values will be the same.

all the IDs change. All item (including pages, pagegroups, items, .... ) are re created so that means that all IDs change.
For your PL/SQL procedure, write a couple of function that will return the ID of elements by their name.
for example :
function get_page_group_id (p_name in varchar2) return number is

Export - Import data , important

Our systems: BPC 75 SP04, MS version (32 bits DEV server, 64 bits PROD server)
I need help ASAP, finally I managed to "export data from server DEV - import this data to PROD" but there is an issue of corrupted data in my opinion, since only some data shows wrong amounts like $300,589,456,345,200...
Procedure:
1. In DEV server, optimized application and compress database
2. Enter to SQL server manager, right click the current database > tasks >export data
Chose Flat File > chose tlbFac2Budget
3. Obtain txt, save into a shared folder
4. Enter to PROD server, open BPC Excel
Access to shared folder, right click txt and made a copy of it.
Using the copy file and changing the dimension COMPAÑIA to COMPANIA (since i have to change this parameter)
5. In Excel, data upload > chose txt file as source file and destination file
Run package > Import > Select txt file and Import file (txt) and transformation file (system file : import)
6. Open log and shows success, 210,440 accepted count. (same # shown in SQL rows)
7. Checking different dynamic templates, and some data is not consistent.
8. Opened SQL Server Mgr, pick tblFac2Budget and says "207,449 rows"
9. Full process the application/dimensions but nothing happenned, all "parent members" show a different amount, also base level members.
10. Open DEV server and the data is also corrupted, amounts are nonsense.. for example billions $$
What do you suggest to do?
After importing, is it necessary to process dimensions? Is also necessary to run all the calcs?
Does the import only import base level members?
If this method is generating corrupted data, what other options do I have left?

Export can not create any trouble into source.
If you performed export from Production server into flat file then it is something else which was creating problem with data from production.
You run another proces or another import into production which change the data.
I'm sure 100% an export can not create any problem into source.
When you are using a export method you have to use the same method for import.
In your case you have used for export SSIS package but for import BPC import.
SSIS export dosn't take in consideration account type , BPC import yes.
So this can be another problem why into destination system you have wrong data including base members.
So you have to use standard BPC export and standard BPC import and you will not have any issue.
Or you can use SSIS export but you have to do the same into destination ...(any way this can create problem if you would like to to do merge of data ). Usually you can do this when you have empty the region into destination table.
So I'm not sure what what was causing problems into data for production but I'm not sure not export is the cause.

Client Export takes a long time...

I have a 500 GB of Client Export and I can see it has been creating 3 files and the speed is 50 GB/24 h.
It will take me 10 days to get the export done....
HW is a 10 GB of RAM 2 CPU (Dualcore)
1. Is there anyway we can a better speed ?
2. Will the Import go faster or slower ?

Hi Wadih saad,
I think the memory is not suffcient to hold the load. Check your swap space and memory during the client export and also check whether there is sufficient space in the hard disk to hold the export files.
You must have calculated the client size by using the test run. This size must be available as free space in hard disk to do the export.
Make the available space and do the export it will work.

I need to copy a table from Client 020 in a system to client 040 of the same system using R3 trans. I need to know the procedure.

This is how you do a export and import of table entries.
Export:
Open Notepad and type the following,
export
client = 020
file = 'clone.export.<sid>.<client no>.data'
select * from <client_dependent_tablename1>
select * from <client_dependent_tablename2>
select * from <client_dependent_tablenamen>
Save the file as export.ctl
Run R3trans export.ctl
and the data of these files will be stored in a file called clone.export.<sid>.data in the directory from which you have called R3trans
Import:
Open Notepad,
import
client = 040
file = clone.export.<sid>.<client no>.data
buffersync = yes
Save the file as import.ctl
Run R3trans import.ctl
