Licensing the MSE (7.4)

Hi All,
I am using Prime 1.3 with MSE for location awareness deployment, I have 300 APs
but only 200 will be taking part in the location awareness deployment, the rest are in different zones.
Do I need CMX licenses only for 200 APs and apply these to the MSE and 300 lifecycle for Prime
or do I need CMX licenses for all APs

I know I need the CMX license because of the analytics data, but when its all put together with Prime and WLC
if I have 1 AP does it mean I need the following licenses.
1 x Lifecycle license for prime
1 x AP license for controller
1 x CMX license for MSE
and when maps are created within Prime are the CMX licenses used only with maps assigned to the MSE
in that way I only have to get the number of CMX licenses that match the number of APs located within the assigned maps.

Problems with Adobe ID/licensing the software Creative Cloud

I have problem with licensing the software of Creative Cloud. All programs installed on my computer and working fine. But the software keeps asking (around 1/2 days),
for licensing the software. For example: when I tried to open Photoshop this day I get the warning sign/pop-up about 'licensing the product', when I click that I get another pop-up about finishing my Adobe ID. After I click that, it goes to internet --> Adobe account where I have to sign in (mail + password). I do that and then the site remains loading the page. Once it did enter into my ADobe ID, and everything was fine, Creative Cloud was mentioned and paid etc in my account. So I hope u can help me further, Thanks in advance! grt Marcel

Hi Marcel,
Please try deleting these folders from these locations and try launching any apps. It will ask you to license the software so enter your credentials and that should fix the issue.
Windows:
Delete these folders
SLStore from C:\ProgramData\Adobe
SLCache from C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe
OOBE from C:\Users\(Your Username)\AppData\Local\Adobe
Mac:
Delete SLStore and SLCache from /Library/Application Support/Adobe
Delete OOBE from ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe

Subscriber After Effects CC 2014 has the right to license the previous After Effects for free?

I need license the After Effects CS5 for professional use, why do I need create templates for every type of user of After Effects, from CS5 to the CC.
I know there's no way to sign Ae CS5 license, then Ae signing CC will have the freedom to also use the Ae CS5 with same license of CC?
Or is there a way to license the Ae CS5?

There are many versions between After Effects CS5 and the current version of After Effects CC. There are very few users still using the old After Effects CS5.
The current version of After Effects---After Effects CC 2014.1 (13.1)---can open After Effects CS5 files just fine, so you can use the current version to take in work by people still on that very old version.

Sign out from Creative Cloud and sign in again using email ID using which you had purcahsed subscription:

Then launch CC apps which is asking for serial number and check.
Still asks for serial number check the hosts file for Adobe entries , if present remove it and try to activate.
1) Right click on the Finder icon on dock and select "Go-To Folder" option.
2) You will get a text box, type-in below mentioned command and then hit 'Return' key.
/etc
3) It will open the etc folder, please look for file named "hosts" and copy the same to Desktop screen.it
4)Double click on Hosts file , it will open it with TextEdit, If present Delete Adobe entries present inside Hosts file like 127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com.......etc
5)Copy and paste the Hosts file back to "Etc" folder.
When asked Authenticate with your Mac password.
Make sure to select "Replace" option when prompted.
Then launch CC apps which is asking for serial number and check.

as I do not have a CD Rom department in my laptop, I've downloaded the Adobe Lightroom online.

The former has serial numbers, the later is a direct purchase from the Apple App Store and no serial number is required.

More granular geo-location from the MSE?

I have a WCS 7.0.xx and a MSE 7.0.xx installed and working fine.
I have managed to get an geo-location answer from the MSE, but it appears like it has low accuracy. Eg: 63:24:59N 10:24:9E. As far as I can see, It contains only degrees, minutes and seconds, not decimal seconds. If I remember correctly a second equals to about 30 meters in north/south direction (and from about the same to 0 in east/west depending on where it is placed between equator and the north/south pole).
Is it possible to increase the number of decimals, so it does not lose more accuracy than it needs?

You have to start gpsd from systemctl. And you can plug/unplug gps devices at will, so it can be enabled in systemctl whether or not an actual gps is always available.

The standalone version and the CC version are both the same exact program, but the licensing is completely different. It will be necessary for you to uninstall the creative cloud trial version and then install the one you purchased from Amazon. After you install, you will be able to open the same catalog and continue from where you were.

If you bought your subscription direct from Adobe, you should not need any codes, only your Adobe ID and password
-Cloud programs do not use serial numbers... you log in to your paid Cloud account to download & install & activate... you MAY need to log out of the Cloud and restart your computer and log back in to the Cloud for things to work

Can I configure the MSE to send logs to a logging server

Does anyone know if that is possible?
I've looked through the manuals to see if the MSE can send logs to a logging server and cannot find it anywhere. I am being asked to send login attempts to a logging server. Can't find it anywhere.
Has anyone else tried and figured it out?

If you need to analyze mobility services engine log files, you can use WCS to download them to your system. WCS downloads a zip file containing the log files.
To download a zip file containing the log files, follow these steps:
Step 1 Choose Services > Mobility Services.
Step 2 Click the name of the mobility services engine to view its status.
Step 3 From the left sidebar menu, click Logs.

I was wondering if anyone knows how to factory default the MSE or know of a way to enable the setup wizard again.
Is there a way to check the status or change the WCS communication password manually.

You can use following steps to restore factory default fo MSE:
StepÂ 1 In Cisco WCS, click Mobility > Mobility Service Engines.
StepÂ 2 Click the name of the mobility services engine you want to configure.
StepÂ 3 Click System (left panel).
StepÂ 4 Click Advanced Parameters.
StepÂ 5 In the Advanced Commands section (right), click Clear Configuration.
StepÂ 6Click OK to clear the mobility services engine configurations.

How can I delete the MSE self-signed certificate?

We are running v7.3.101.0 of the MSE and need to delete the self-signed certificate. I know the self-signed certificate is a feature of the MSE and comes pre-installed. Is it a requirement or can we delete it without causing any issues? If we can delete it, how? Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
