ME59N : Order Unit problem

Dear all
I have come across following situation.
I am creating third party PO from sales order.
The details are as follows:
Doc                           Order Unit
Sales order           CV
PR                           ST
Info record                           ST as PO unit of measure and active with own price
Material master           Base unit ST and sales unit as CV
But when I am creating PO by T code ME59N,it is taking CV as order unit. As in inforecord I have maintained ST as order unit, it should take ST in PO.
Can anyone suggest why this is happening?
Regards,
Praful.

HI Praful
in the third party scenario we first create sale order and in the background it creates purchase requisition. so i think the PR is picking data from the sales order and that is why the unit of measure is showing as CV.
check if you have maintained the units in the material master. check what is your ordering unit in purchase view, sales unit in sales view.
and revert back

  • Not allow order unit in INFO record if it is not in material master

    Hello there!
In standar SAP any user can introduce any order unit in the info record, even if it is not maintained in the material master alternative units of meassure. We need to block this...
The conversion factor is not a problem for us, as we can set it only for display in the customizing, so that the systems brings it automatically from material master
The idea is to allow as order units only those units of meassure that exist in material master.
We have been checking if it is possible, but no success...
Any idea on how to get it? Error messages, user exists, or so on...
    Thanks!!

  • TEXT material in Sales Order - Unit of Measurement is blank

We need to trigger a PR from a text item in sales order.
Only problem we are facing is an error message saying "Enter Order Unit". But there is no value in F4 help for order unit. There is no permissible value for unit of measure in F4 help, as it is derived from material master.

here is the exact requirement. We want to trigger a PR for procurement of services from a sales order. To trigger a PR for services and use service entry sheet for service confirmation we need to use item category D-Services in the PR and PO. Item category D does not allow a material to be entered as there will be no invetory tracking for this services. This is standard SAP property for item category D in the PR.
So to trigger a PR only with a text line from a sales order you need to have a sales order line item only with the text and trigger a schedule line category with the order type NB, Item category as D and account assignment category as R.

  • PR qty in PO - Order unit Qty

Hi Happy New Year to all.
I have a material for which bas unit of measure is EA. Order unit is Box(1 Box = 6 EA). I have maintain conversion factor in mat master.
My question is that if my
PR qty is 6 or less than 6 then my order qty should be 1 BOX.
PR qty is 12 or less than 12 then my order qty should be 2 BOX.
MRP (VB) will be run every week.
PR created automatically by system in base unit of measure only. Is it possible to create PR in Order unit (BOX)?.
For example, when i refer my PR (qty 9) in PO, system picks the order unit as 2 BOXu2026.no problem)
But the real problem is that i have system message 00 06 076 as error message which is to check the PR qty in PO (My PO qty shouldnu2019t be more than PR qty). Due to this message i am not able to create PO(since PO qty exceeds PR qty in this case) .
Is there any way when the system creates PR with Base unit of measure along with order unit also?
    Thanks

    hi,
PR is always created with base unit of measure only.
If you want the order unit field can be displayed in PR by changing the layout which is not usually the
    case
    1) PO qty always less than PR and 2) rounding value is defined    these 2 contradict each other
You should solve this first.Either change the error message to warning or remove the rounding value in material master so that PO qty is always less than PR.
    thanks

  • Purchase order unit of measure

If my base unit of measure is Metres(M), and without changing the base unit of measure if i want the purchase order to pick up KG , where all do i have to do the settings like in config or Material master record. If its material master record, then where inside material master record.
My proces here starts with PR ? So how should it be done that KG is picked up in PR also.
Where are the settings for purchase order unit of measure done(UoM) ?

    hi
    Goto MM02
Give the material and other required data
    select PURCHASING view
In General data, next to ORDER UNIT there is a Variable Purchase Order Unit
    Check on that
Activation of the variable purchase order unit.
The information from the field in the material master record is adopted in the purchasing info record. In the purchase order and in the source list, you can enter an order unit that differs from the one in the purchasing info record.
If you wish to specify a different order unit for a requisition, you must assign a source with a different order unit to the requisition.
hope this will solve ur problem

  • AFS Purchase Order Unit Rounding

We are implementing SAP AFS system in our garment manufacturing divison.  We are facing a problem with rounding in Purhcase Order for Thread.  The Base Unit for Thread is M, and the Order Unit is Roll.  1 Roll = 3500 M.  When we have a PR for 4000 M, we would like the system to convert to 2 Rolls (always roundup in SKU level).
We used the MRP 1 rounding profile, but it seems to only round up at the material level not the SKU.   Pls give us any suggestion.

    Hi Calvin,
Hope you are using IS-R Solution along with AFS!!
    You can use Unit of Measure Rounding Rules in Customization using following path;
IMG - Logistics – General - Quantity Optimizing and Allowed Logistics Units of Measure - Unit of Measure Rounding Rules
The fields, % Rounding Up or % Rounding Down, indicate the percentages from which the system has to automatically round up or down to complete Logistic UoM. A percentage of 30 for % rounding up means that the system should always round up, when the quantity is 30% or more, to a multiple complete Logistic UoM. A percentage of 30 for % rounding down means that the system should always round down, when the quantity is 30% or less, to a multiple complete Logistic UoM.
    After this, you have to "Maintain Rounding Profiles" using following path;
IMG - Logistics – General - Quantity Optimizing and Allowed Logistics Units of Measure - Maintain Rounding Profile
After creation, you have to maintain same profle in your Article / Material master.
Hope this information will be useful.
    Bye,

  • ALternate Unit of Measure as a Order unit in PO

    Hi everyone,
I have a problem while ordering the Quantity in PO with alternate unit which is maintained in MMR. The problem is
in MMR, I have maintained EA as the UOM and PAC as the Alternate unit of measure.
while in PO, i am trying to give the 'Order Unit (OUn) as the PAC which is the alternate unit maintained. But it is not accepting and
again reverting back to EA. i couldnt find out the solution. But some POs for that material is already ordered as PAC unit.
Could it be problem with the MMR ?

  • Different order units in info records

Hi, I need to have different order units for different Plants in Info Records. I find this field only at general level. How can I solve this problem? Can anyone help me? Thanks. Marí

When you create the info you are creating for plant so you can enter different order unit in diff info as per the plant you select but suppose if you want to maintain more thna one order unit in the same info then you have to activate the variable order unit funcitonlity
to do that go to material masater purchiasing view and enter the 1 0r 2 based on you reqs
    1- active
2- active with own price (means in the info record for all the order unit you can maintain the price
then maintain the diff order unit in mateirl master
within mateirl master Additionl data-unit of measure here you can enter
now when you go to info record you will see the variable orderunit filed is populate on general data screen if not populate and then populate.
if 2 is entered then when you click conditio it will popup for pricing

  • MIGO Error- Order Unit & Order Price Unit

    Hi,
I have a material whose base UOM is EA & alternate UOM is KG.(Conversion is maintained in the Material Master).
I have created a PO for this material with order unit as EA & order price unit as KG.
Now,when I try to do the GR using MIGO,I get the following error message:
"Quantities cannot be converted for the the Material".
i.e, the system is not able to do the conversion between EA & KG.
How to resolve this issue? Please advise.
    Thanks,
    Kaveri

    Hi Mallinath,
I had tried a similar thing with another material & it was working fine.
To summarise my problem once again, please see the below data maintained by me:
    MMR-
    Base UOM in EA
Alternate UOM in KG (25 KG = 1EA)
    PO-
    Order unit in EA
    Order price unit in KG
With the above settings,MIGO is giving me the error:
Quantities cannot be converted for the material.
    Please advise.

  • Order unit in material master

    Hi Gurus,
We have maintained order unit CS in material master, while creating purchase order we have changed the order unit CS to BAG. conversion was not maintained for BAG in material master.
But still PO is not throwing any error message. In actual it should give error message ..right ? as we  have changed the order unit CS to BAG?
    Please clarify
    subbu

    Hello,
If that Unit & its conversion wrt to base unit is niether maintained in Material master or nor in inforecord, then, system throws an error. Please check whether "BAG" is maintaiened in material master or inforecord. Also check message setting.
    Hope it will help u..

  • How to manage variable conversion factor in UOM to order unit

    Hi,
We have a material whose base unit is PC unit price is 8 Euro / PC
Order unit is Box now we do not have a standard conversion factor.
    Means sometimes vendor send 8 pc/ Box ,10 pc /Box and 12 pc /Box
so when we create Material master and enter order unit as Box in purchasing view system ask for conversion rate
if we do not enter any the value in PC field its taking 1 Box =1 PC as default.
Example: Now while creating PO say we order for 10 box.(at this point we do not know exact conversion rate)
and in the conditions we maintain price against PC .system calculate.
Now when we receive the material then we actually know how much QTy we receive in SKU (PC) but that field is blur (no input) in 101 mvt type.
One more thing In MIGO we can enter the Qty in PO Price Unit say we enter 80 PC
system only creates stock value posting (80 * 8 =640 Euro ) but the stock qty in MMBE is still 10 piece ( from 1:1 conversion with box)
Please suggest how we can handle this variable conversion rate.
So that we can enter correct Qty in the time of GR ( MIGO ).
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    Thanks for the valuable  Input.
For our material base unit is PC order unit is Box.
Say we main a conversion factor 10 PC =1 Box ( a default value) in MM01
And we order 10 Box. but when we receive we found that vendor send 12 pc per Box so total 120 pc
[ Po price unit is in PC in condition details]
Now in MIGO we cannot modify that Qty ( from 100 to 120 in PC)
SO you are suggesting here we receive 12 box in MIGO. so that actual qty in PC is correct..
    Thanks again

  • At the time of entering the OUn (order unit) it is picking the"(inch symbol

    Hi Gurus,
User trying to create the PO,at the time of entering the OUn (order unit) it is picking the " (inch symbol) instead of" EA".as i observed in the material master the pur group has changed only.earlier they are created the PO it is picked the correct OUn.
        Please help me for this.
    Regards
    krishna

This will happen if either in the material master or in the info-record "inch" has been specified as the order unit and its relationship with EA is maintained there. If you don't want it, then remove this order unit from either of this place

  • How to change order unit in ME22n for particular vendor

    Dear All,
We have defined ordering unit in material master as "L".
For other vendors & new PO we get proper ord.unit display.
But we r not getting in PO of particular vendor.
How to get order unit in ME22n ? What is the relation of order unit with Vendor ?

    Hi
Did you ordere the particular material for the vendor concerned already with different Order unit (SKU),  this might be the reason why you are not getting the ordering unit in PO while ordering. Did you maintain the details of conversion in master between SKU & Ordering unit,if yes, then check for Info Record for the material and vendor combination and in the Genaral Data Tab chek for the variable order unit activation if not available then activate it and if the system is asking the conversiondetails enter herr the conversion also. Now if you create PO you will be able to assigne the new order unit.

  • Bapi_po_create1 Order unit cannot be used

    Hello everyone,
I'm using the BAPI_PO_CREATE1 to create a purchase order, but it's giving me the following error:
"Order unit MGW cannot be used", i'm using a material with the unit MGW defined in MM02.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Fábio Galvã

    Thanks for all the replies,
I've given points to all the helpfull replies.
I've managed to create the PO with the unit I wanted, MGW, butt it only placed the unit in 'Order Price Unit (Purchasing)' and placed UN on 'Purchase Order Unit of Measure'. My requirement is to create a PO with MGW on both fields.
Is there any other field I need to fill so that the BAPI creates a PO like I need?
    Thank you,
