    Hi,
We failed to start one instance on a node where we were able to start

We installed two instances of Weblogic server 5.1 on Solaris 5.7.
One at /usr/weblogic and another at /opt/weblogic. We were able to start

    Hi.
You can create new servers in your domain via the console. Be sure they are
listening to different ports, however. If your NT machine supports more than
1 IP address then you could alternatively bind each server to a different
    address.
I'm not sure if this answers your question?

  • Running Multiple Server Instance in Weblogic Server

    Hi
I am using Weblogic 5.1.0 with SP6. I am trying to run multiple server
    instances
of Weblogic Server. The one that comes by default is "myServer".
My question is if i were to create multiple server instances, do i need to
    copy the
weblogic.properties file in each of folder corresponding to respective
    application
server instance. I am not using Clusters.
Also if i need to include some classes or jar files in my application server
    instance
classpath, how do i do it. cuz in weblogic.properties file i didn't find any
    property
    corresponding to classpath.
The classpath i need to set is for my creating a JDBC pool for connectivity
    to my
AS400 DB2 database using the Type 4 (AS400JDBCDriver) Driver. Is there some
    other way to do it.
    Thanks in advance

    machine.
But if you wish to do so, you can create multiple domains under the
same installation, say one for dev and one for prod. On the same
machine make sure they listen on different ports. This, of course,
ties you to the same version for development and production - making
it impossible to upgrade just one.
You may be able to do two completely different installations (i.e.
different BEA HOMEs) on the same machine - I haven't tried this but it
looks possible. This would mean you could upgrade each separately. The
presence of BEAHOMELIST in the registry on NT seems to indicate this
    should work.

I think we have to clean ( already scheduled for next release) list of some of the

  • Starting Weblogic Server 5.1

    Hi,
I've downloaded the evaluation license files as instructed but am having
    problems starting the Weblogic Server.
    I'm using the following :-
NT 4 Service Pack 5 on an Intel Pentium III platform
    250MB RAM
    9 GB hard drive
This server was prepared from scratch specifically for the evaluation of
this product. I have tried both JDK 1.2 and JDK 1.3 as well as not
installing a JDK at all and just rlying on the JRE that comes as part of
    the installation.
Using the weblogic console (which fires up OK), I get an error
associated with the Java file that parses the license XML file resulting
    in a weblogic.common.LicenseCorruptException.
In addition, the console dialog reports that javai.dll could not be
found (searching for this dll using explorer shows that the file does
not exist on the machine). As I understand it, this dll has been
superceded by jvm.dll for the JDK 1.2 for Win in any case.
Finally, when I examine the properties by using Weblogic ->Show
    Settings, I notice
that one of the system properties reads as follows:-
    weblogic.security.home= =C:\weblogic\weblogic.policy
i.e the equality operator appears instead of the assignment operator.
The installation itself is completely standard with weblogic being
installed to the root directory i.e. C:\weblogic.
I would appreciate it if anyone could please let me know why this error
    is
being caused and how it can be corrected.

Try validating the license file with a separate XML parser ( e.g.:
Apache Xerces ). The only reason I can think of why it is complaining of
a LicenseCorruptionException is the license must not be a fully valid
xml document. (some missing beginning or closing tags, misspelt element
    names, etc.)(
