Office 365 Pro Plus vs Office 2013 Pro Plus licensing

I can't find any exact answers on this but I'm wondering if I can run Office 2013 Pro Plus instead of office 365 Pro Plus click to run. The problem is click to run causes all kinds of problems with 3rd party software. It's so random too and doesn't happen
to everyone in my office.
With office 365 this is what happens. We have this 3rd party integration with word that adds a tab to interact with our CRM. When you click a button on this tab word crashes and you loose your document. It will auto recover most of the time but at that point
the 3rd part integration is broken because the document was open outside of the software.
I did an online repair of office 365 but that didn't fix it.
So I have a volume license key for Office 2013 pro plus for my terminal servers and was wondering if I could just use that key on my computers to activate Office 2013 Pro Plus instead of Office 365 and still be compliant with the license agreement.
I have tried installing Office 2013 Pro Plus and activating with the Office 365 login but it converts office 2013 to the Office 365 click to run. It's so infuriating! LOL.
Thanks!

Hi,
"So I have a volume license key for Office 2013 pro plus for my terminal servers and was wondering if I could just use that key on my computers to activate Office 2013 Pro Plus instead of Office 365 and still be compliant with the license agreement."
By the volume license key, do you mean a MAK key? Technically it should work fine, but since it will be related to the licence policy, I suggest you contact the local customer service to confirm:

"I have tried installing Office 2013 Pro Plus and activating with the Office 365 login but it converts office 2013 to the Office 365 click to run. It's so infuriating! LOL."
I understand in your scenario if you activate Office 2013 with the Office 365 account it will display Office 365. But does it also display "click to run"? The installation method should change unless you installed Office 2013 via click to run too.

    Hi,
If you are developing an app for SharePoint, the app can call into a user’s MySite site collection and access their OneDrive for Business documents using REST or CSOM.
The REST call to get to the file would be:

  • Office 365 Midsize Business and Project 2013 Standard (Retail)

    Hi,
Can someone explain to me how to install Project Standard 2013 (retail version) alongside Office 365 Midsize Business.
I either get installation errors - "Something went wrong......" or activation errors whereby the activation code seems to be accepted (green tick) but I am then asked to link it to an email account which won't work as it is a retail version.

    Hi,
"Office 365" refers to subscription plans that include access to Office applications plus other productivity services that are enabled over the Internet (cloud services), such as Lync web conferencing and Exchange Online hosted email for business,
and additional online storage with OneDrive and Skype world minutes for home.

All servers are in the same Update. My client can't update with the last CU6 all server and want to stay with the CU3

    Bonjour,
" My client can't update with the last CU6 all server and want to stay with the CU3"
C'est par contre un point plus que géneant, le CU3 n'est plus supporté par MS, la compatibilité avec O365 n'est donc pas garantie.

    Hi,
Which Office 365 Home Premium editions did you install? 32bit or 64bit? Office 2013 doesn’t support running side-by-side installations of 64-bit and 32-bit versions of Office. For example, you can’t install Office 2010 32-bit side-by-side with Visio
2013 64-bit. This applies to both Windows Installer (MSI) and Click-to-Run installations of Office 2013. If you try to do this, you'll receive the error message and be prevented from continuing:

To resolve your issue you can install Office 365 Home Premium 64 bit + Visio Professional 2013 64 bit version.

    Hello,
Is it possible to open a "Contact Card" created via web in Office 365 OWA, on your locally installed Outlook 2013 using its unique "Contact.EntryId"?
I have Delphi application which connects to outlook via COM/OLE. My goal is to retreive the ContactItem using OutlookNamespace.GetItemFromId(EntryId, StoreEntryId) and display in outlook 2013. However, retrieving the item results in

Is it possible to open a "Contact Card" created via web in Office 365 OWA, on your locally installed Outlook 2013 using its unique "Contact.EntryId"?
    Basically my question is:

    2. Can I use this identifier to open/display the contact in Outlook2013

  • Office 365 Sharepoint Online and Infopath 2013

I'm looking create an InfoPath 2013 form where the view changes based on the current user.  This is so different departments & managers get access to fields regular submitters don't see.
This is in SharePoint Online with Office 365.  How can I manage this?  I have tried connecting to SharePoint online via a data connection, but I get errors when it tries to make the data connection.
Are there any tutorials on how to do this, or at least something put point me in the right direction?

  • Office 365 BI vs. SharePoint 2013 on premise BI - are new updates going to O365 only/first?

With some of the more recent blog posts I've seen there seems to be talk of a trend where new fixes/changes/enhancements to PowerView/Power BI, etc... are going to happen in Office 365 but may not be happening for SharePoint on premise.
Does anyone have any more details on this or have they heard similar?
I've seen the Power BI blog talking about new releases and enhancements each month, which I assume SharePoint PowerView is not getting those enhancements?

Thank you that does help clear up a few things.
However, I still don't fully understand some of the "duplication" of things?
    For example:
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/excel-help/power-view-explore-visualize-and-present-your-data-HA102835634.aspx?CTT=5&origin=HA104103581
That talks about Power BI :
"Power View has new features, as part of Power BI for Office 365:
Create Power View sheets in Excel and then view them in the Power BI Windows Store app.
View Power View in Excel sheets in your browser, without installing Silverlight. Read about the supported features of the HTML5 version of Power View.
Read the Power BI Getting Started Guide."
Will those same new features be in those bi-monthly SQL Server CU releases?
(that may not be the best example, but on the Power BI blog they talk about various new features/enhancements, etc...)
Perhaps I am just confused by the shared name of Power View in Office 365 and SharePoint?

Operating System: Windows 7 (SP1); Office 2010 Professional SP1 and also Office 365 proplus...
By default I have installed office 2010 and later I installed office 365 proplus online.
My issue is when I am saving office365 proplus (Word, excel) file then by default it saving as office 2010.
When I opening it by open with but there office proplus (word / excel) option is not available.
All desktop files showing in office 2010 format.
I office 365 proplus repair but issue is same.
(FYI: when I uninstall office 2010 then by default office 365 proplus both saving and displaying)
Please anyone help me about to above issue to resolve before uninstalling office 2010..........

    Hi,
I have tested this in my testing environment that by default Office 365 Pro Plus will take over your existing Office 2010 files if you install Office 365 Pro Plus later. And the new Office icon will show on all of your existing files.
Usually, do a Online Repair of the Microsoft Office 365 Pro Plus will fix the broken of file type associations. Not sure how you repaired your Office 365 Pro Plus, please try again follow the steps below:
1.Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click
    Programs and Features.
2.Click your Microsoft Office program, and then click Change.
3.Select Online Repair, and then click Repair.
If the Online Repair doesn't fix the issue, I would suggest you to try using Microsoft Fix It tool to remoe Office 365 completely, then reinstall it:

  • Office 365 thinks I have Office

    Hello,
My university allows students to download a full version of Office 365 for Mac for free. The trouble is when I get to the download page, it is asking me to set up my current version of Office (it says 2011) to use with Office 365. But, I do not have Office installed at all. I did download One Note when it came out, but I have deleted it and also deleted all com.microsoft files that I could find. Am I missing something?
    Thanks for the help!

The problem is that your Office 2010 package is a Windows application, and Windows softare doesn't run natively under MacOS. As a result, you can't simply download it or install it on your MacBook Air.
You can set up your MacBook Air to run Windows as well as MacOS, using either Boot Camp (where you pick whether to run Windows or MacOS each time the system starts, but you can't run both at the same time) or using a 'virtual' Windows installation (where you use software such as VMware to create a virtual Windows machine which you run as a window inside MacOS), but in either case you'll need a licence for Windows, plus the virtualisation software if you want to go that route. In other words, it's not simple, though in either case your Office software would be usable.
Some software houses are prepared to cross-licence software in this sort of instance - they'll allow a copy for one platform to lapse and charge a relatively low amount for new copy, on the basis that the user has already paid full price, but Microsoft generally don't seem generally cooperative in that instance.

  • Office 365 Business Premium vs Office 365 ProPlus

Hi,I have a user starting next week and I am thinking about what office 365 plan I should get for him. The main purpose of using this plan is to get him only Office applications as we have On-premise Exchange server so email service is requried. In Australia, Office 365 ProPlus is more expensive then Business Premium which I think it is nonsense because Business Premium also offers thelatest version of office application and I think ProPlus should be cheaper or at least equally same. The only differences between these two plans are Office 365 ProPlus plan comes with Access 2013 which Premium plan does not offer and Exchange online.Office 365 Business Premium: $17.50 user/monthhttps://products.office.com/en-au/business/compare-office-365-for-business-plansOffice 365 ProPlus: $19.40 user/month...

The need for OCR is dependent on the type of PDF file being indexed.  Some PDFs are images of text and require OCR to be indexed (which is not available in O365).  But most PDFs today are text based and fully index-able.  OCR isn't a default
for the iFilter on-premises either it is a custom install.  The default iFilter used on-premises is the same one used in Office 365 and will index more than metadata if the PDF contains index-able text.

  • Office 365 Pro Plus Install or deployment issue.

Users downloading the software direct from the user portal leaves them stuck on the setting up office when they don’t have office on their systems and does not allow them to download it.
Downloading to the network to deploy gives the error that they may not be connected to the internet which makes no sense at all but I’ve tried it three times all with the same result. IT downloads the actual installer file to
