Recording calls with Torch

I need to record phone calls with my Torch.
This was a basic function on my previous Win Mob phone and in fact I configged a "fast" button to invoke it while taking a call.
You see, the whole point of the phone is that it's a mobile - so I generally don't have a pen and paper to take notes which I often need to so. Besides, ever tried to take notes while you have a mobile cradled in your ear? Doesn't work too well.
So, is the rumour true? That RIM disabled the call record component of Voice Notes? And that they forbid any third party app which records calls? Except for those expensive services which record off the network and email your the file?
This is BS.
Please tell me where I can DL/buy a phone record app ASAP. I really need one for my job and since I'm self employed, it's even more critical.
Or maybe I should look at a Win7 or Android phone...in which case I might as well buy a Xoom tablet and forget about a Playbook.
It's a domino thing.

I want to be able to record incoming and outgoing calls directly to my memory card.  I don't want to pay another monthly fee.  Please make this possible so I don't have to switch to some other type of phone.
Sincerely,
Kevin

  • Why can't I record calls with the iPhone?

    Hi,
Why can't I record calls with the iPhone? Every other mobile can! That's quite pitty ...!

Nonsense. There are many places where you are not allowed to take photos or video but those functions are included. Apple assumes no responsibility for them. Apple would not be responsible for managing the recordings on the phone either. It's most likely because Apple is located in California and in THAT particular state, both parties have to be informed of the recording. Most states do not require that. If Apple were located in another state (e.g. Alaska) there would be no restriction.
All the apps that record calls store those recordings in their servers and charge you a fee. It would be preferable to have the calls stored only on the phone so no one else could access them. The iPhone has the technological capability; we have just been restricted from having this functionality without paying a 3rd party.

  • How record a call with 8220

I would like to know how record a call with a BlackBerry 8220 ???
    Thank you.

You can't, from the native BB operating system.
There could be a third party application out there to do this, I am not aware of it.

    It's not illegal everywhere.

  • Weblogic app server wsdl web service call with SSL Validation error = 16

Weblogic app server wsdl web service call with SSL Validation error = 16
I need to make wsdl web service call in my weblogic app server. The web service is provided by a 3rd party vendor. I keep getting error
Cannot complete the certificate chain: No trusted cert found
Certificate chain received from ws-eq.demo.xxx.com - xx.xxx.xxx.156 was not trusted causing SSL handshake failure
    Validation error = 16
From the SSL debug log, I can see 3 verisign hierarchy certs are correctly loaded (see 3 lines in the log message starting with “adding as trusted cert”). But somehow after first handshake, I got error “Cannot complete the certificate chain: No trusted cert found”.
Here is how I load trustStore and keyStore in my java program:
         System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.trustStore",”cacerts”);
         System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.trustStorePassword", trustKeyPasswd);
         System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.trustStoreType","JKS");
    System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStoreType","JKS");
    System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStore", keyStoreName);
         System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStorePassword",clientCertPwd);      System.setProperty("com.sun.xml.ws.transport.http.client.HttpTransportPipe.dump","true");
Here is how I create cacerts using verisign hierarchy certs (in this order)
1.6.0_29/jre/bin/keytool -import -trustcacerts -keystore cacerts -storepass changeit -file VerisignClass3G5PCA3Root.txt -alias "Verisign Class3 G5P CA3 Root"
1.6.0_29/jre/bin/keytool -import -trustcacerts -keystore cacerts -storepass changeit -file VerisignC3G5IntermediatePrimary.txt -alias "Verisign C3 G5 Intermediate Primary"
1.6.0_29/jre/bin/keytool -import -trustcacerts -keystore cacerts -storepass changeit -file VerisignC3G5IntermediateSecondary.txt -alias "Verisign C3 G5 Intermediate Secondary"
Because my program is a weblogic app server, when I start the program, I have java command line options set as:
    -Dweblogic.security.SSL.trustedCAKeyStore=SSLTrust.jks
    -Dweblogic.security.SSL.ignoreHostnameVerification=true
    -Dweblogic.security.SSL.enforceConstraints=strong
That SSLTrust.jks is the trust certificate from our web server which sits on a different box. In our config.xml file, we also refer to the SSLTrust.jks file when we bring up the weblogic app server.
In addition, we have working logic to use some other wsdl web services from the same vendor on the same SOAP server. In the working web service call flows, we use clientgen to create client stub, and use SSLContext and WLSSLAdapter to load trustStore and keyStore, and then bind the SSLContext and WLSSLAdapter objects to the webSerive client object and make the webservie call. For the new wsdl file, I am told to use wsimport to create client stub. In the client code created, I don’t see any way that I can bind SSLContext and WLSSLAdapter objects to the client object, so I have to load certs by settting system pramaters. Here I attached the the wsdl file.
I have read many articles. It seems as long as I can install the verisign certs correctly to web logic server, I should have fixed the problem. Now the questions are:
    1.     Do I create “cacerts” the correct order with right keeltool options?
    2.     Since command line option “-Dweblogic.security.SSL.trustedCAKeyStore” is used for web server jks certificate, will that cause any problem for me?
    3.     Is it possible to use wsimport to generate client stub that I can bind SSLContext and WLSSLAdapter objects to it?
    4.     Do I need to put the “cacerts” to some specific weblogic directory?

I received a workaround by an internal message.
The how to guide is :
-Download the wsdl file (with bindings, not the one from ESR)
-Correct it in order that the schema corresponds to the answer (remove minOccurs or other things like this)
-Deploy the wsdl file on you a server (java web project for exemple). you can deploy on your local
-Create a new logicial destination that point to the wsdl file modified
-Change the metadata destination in your web dynpro project for the corresponding model and keep the execution desitnation as before.
Then the received data is check by the metadata logical destination but the data is retrieved from the correct server.

  • Call with my own client to the real phone network

Hi, I've a shell script in Linux that I need to make calls and send text messages from. I write the program in any other language as well, but for the moment it's shell script. I've a microphone attached to the Linux computer that works. Do you understand the question ? If so, how is this done ?
EDIT: Need to be able to call with multiple instances. So I need to be able to call 5 different numbers at the same time.
    Thanks
    Envion

Having the same issue. Calls being made FROM my Maryland home landline TO a Virginia number.
I tried calling the number from my office phone, but it goes straight to an unoccupied voicemail.
When I first called about it, the Verizon representative also reassured me there was no charge for these calls, but that is not the issue. The issue is that someone or some machine has access to my home landline and it is making these calls. She was pretty insistent that it must be someone in my home, but much like others have stated, the records show that calls are made when no one is home, or when we are all home watching TV in the living room. We have one phone in the kitchen, so there are no secret calls being made. And certainly not 20+ times a month.
The first representative transferred me to another tech. At first, the new tech dismissed the idea that there could be cross-wiring (what the first tech suggested) because it's over the internet. There are no physical wires to cross.
The tech eventually ran a test and determined there was a "short bound in the wiring," so she said she was going to "reboot the ONC." I don't know what any of that means.
The test came back successful, and she was able to block the number (inbound and outbound).
I told both techs that this problem is not unique to my account; that there are several people on Verizon forums reporting the same issue.
She was not able to explain why, so we are no closer to figuring this out.
All I can recommend is calling Verizon tech support and having the number blocked. We'll see what happens with the next bill.
Also, if it's worth typing out, make sure you're reviewing your bills from Verizon. I've had to call at least five times in the 4.5 months about one thing or another.

  • Audio and video not synchronized in recording made with Lync 2013

There appears to be no forum for the Lync 2013 client yet, so I am posting this in the Lync 2013 server forum.
Environment: Lync 2013 Server and Lync 2013 32-bit client. Only one Lync pool. Conference call was scheduled using "Lync Meeting" in Outlook about a week before the call. Call recorded on a laptop that was plugged into our LAN with an Ethernet
    cable.
Problem: User scheduled a conference call with screen sharing (PowerPoint) and recorded the call. The audio and video are not synchronized in the recording. There is several minutes' delay, with the audio lagging behind the PowerPoint. The last slide
on the call was presented, the call ended, and the presenter ended the recording (I was present for all this and can confirm no user error in these steps); however, in the recording, the slides change before the speaker talks about it, and the last
couple of minutes are cut off.
Any ideas on why this happened? Web research has failed me. Thank you.

You may need to lower the recording quality as your PC might not be able to keep up the pace.
Go to Options in Lync client -> Recording -> Select 480p
    Then test again

  • Recording sound with Soundbooth

I managed to record sound with the system 'sound recorder', but when I try to record sound in soundbooth with the same mic (simple cheap mic) there is nothing showing on the meter and nothing records. Can somebody please explain to me what is the problem?

While Premiere and Soundbooth both support a Windows audio standard called ASIO, both also include a driver that will let you use audio devices that do not support this format.  The driver is configured by default, but may not always select the proper input port - depending on the audio device and what Windows reports to the application.
Fortunately, it's not too difficult to tinker around and find the right setting.  In Soundbooth, choose Edit > Preferences > Audio Hardware...  In the dialog that pops up, you should see a drop-down labeled "Default Device"  If you are running Soundbooth CS4, you should see "Soundbooth 2.0 WDM Sound" listed here.  Click the Settings button, and in the new dialog, click the "Input" tab.  Here you'll see a list of input ports for your selected audio device.  Make certain your microphone port is enabled, and click OK a few times to get back to the main program.  Click the Record button and make sure the microphone input is selected in the Port: dropdown.  Try recording and see if this solves the problem.
If it still does not record, or you do not see the proper input to enable, you may need to verify the proper audio device is selected, or if you're running Windows Vista, that the input port you want to use is enabled in Window's Audio settings.  You can find this by right clicking on the speaker icon in your system try and choose "Recording Devices."
    Good luck!

I had a generic record class that has a HashMap to hold the data fields (...)
method called createRecord() for each record type which would populate the HashMap with the correct data fieldsI'm not sure I understand: are the contents of this field map the same between two records of the same type? Then yes, you don't need to clone the map per record instance.
one thing that needs fixing is the fact that each time the createRecord() method is called I'm creating a new fieldMap to define the dataFields in the record class.Probably, but that will only get you a little bigger files; you won't gain an order of magnitude on the size of files. The problem for huge files is that as soon as their content is bigger than the available memory, you'll run into problems. A more radical approach if you need to address huge files is to process the records on the fly, and not load all records in memory. Of course not all algorithms or business logic can afford that...
I know I could rewrite the code and create a class for each record type and declare the fieldMap static but I was wondering if anyone had any better suggestions The Record instance could receive and keep a reference to its RecordType instance, and ask the RecordType instance the DataType for a field's name. That way the RecordType encapsulates the map, and there's less risk that a clumsy other class modifies the static map.
before I go rewriting a load of code.A load of code?!? Even with the idea of the static map, you only have to edit the enum type (well more accurately, each RecordType enumerated constant's createRecord() method).

Hope this helps for your car:
The engine is the main component of the car that is upgraded for performance in most circumstances. One way in which to customize it is to ‘chip’ the engine. This can also be called power-chipping or have other chip involved names that all stand for the same basic concept. The owner of the vehicle buys an after-market electronic chip and changes out the factory set one. This new chip increases the performance of the engine by changing the car’s computer configuration. The idea is that the new chip will set the engine to perform better.
The camshaft or head can also be changed out for bigger, higher performance models. This allows for increased horsepower which in turn allows your vehicle to go faster. A different way in which to increase horsepower is to get a bigger blower. The new blower will force more air into the system. The more air the more effective the combustion process and the greater power generated.
A new header or exhaust system with after-market parts can allow your engine to breathe better and thus run more efficiently with better horsepower. Performance exhaust systems usually have bigger thicker tubing that allows your exhaust velocity to be higher than normal. This helps to carry away the harmful gases at a higher more effective rate.
Performance shocks or struts can help lower your vehicle. This can give your car a different look as well as better road-hold qualities. This helps with cornering and the basic handling of the vehicle.
There are a few cheaper ways in which to get better performance or upgrade your vehicle as well. You can change out your air filter to a high quality after-market brand. This will allow better air flow and better engine performance.
You can also choose to change out your type of spark plugs or spark plug wires. There are high performance brands of both types. These do not normally cost all that much and you can usually do the labor of changing out the factory parts for these performance parts yourself. Doing your own labor on your vehicle will save you money and thus allowing you to have more funds to spend on car parts.
Enhancing your vehicle with performance parts can change the whole way in which it drives. Before changing out any factory parts for after-market ones it is always wise to make sure you are not voiding out any manufacturer warranties. You might also check with your auto insurance company to make sure the upgrades you are doing will be covered by your current insurance policy.
Improving your car’s capabilities can cost you a little or cost you a lot depending on how much you want to do and want to spend. We will start out small and build up to the more expensive items. No matter if big or small you can do any of these improvements in a weekend.
I ride a bike. Keeps me sane.

The Nokia 1661 support page specifications state that this phone has:
    "Integrated hands-free speakerphone"
    "Voice and audio recording"
    "Call waiting, call hold"
Searching the Nokia site and five different Nokia 1661 manuals have provided no assistance in using these features much less what the odd symbols next to 1, *, and # keys represent and what the 3rd port (between charge and earphone) is for.  Are these keys somehow related to "hold", "record", and "speaker" functions?
How do I use the advertised features listed above?
What are the alternate functions for the 1, #, and * keys?
Is there a PC data cable made for this phone (I verified this phone supported Nokia PC Suite before purchased, but now...)?
Thanks for any help, I am getting discouraged,
    Scott

Integrated hands free speaker phone> during a call move the phone from your far and look at it you'll see a loud speaker option(usually the left selection key) Voice and audio recording> should be under Menu>media this can be used to record conversation or anything else(on some phones it can record the radio playing on the phone or telephone conversations) Call waiting> this tells the network to alert you with a beep when you're on a call and there's another incoming call, if you look at the phone it will show you who's calling and will give you the option to answer and the other call is automatically put on hold. You can also put a call on hold by pressing options>hold then when you're done options>unhold to get back to your conversation

  • Sirocco 8800 dying mid-call with almost full batte...

    Hi all
I have a problem with my 8800 where it dies on me in the middle of a call even though the battery could have 5 or 6 bars out of 7 showing. Anyone else suffer(ed) a similar thing, and what can be done to fix it?
It's a little of random too; in fact I've seen the bars drop from 6 to just 1 as soon as I take a call, and had the beep and warning flash up that the battery was almost out of power throughout the call, only for the battery to bounce back up to 3 bars by the end of the call!
This issue happens with both my batteries.
Since the phone was brand new it has had a tendency to die when being rung or on a call with say say just 3 bars left. Now things are worse it seems I have to charge it everyday to ensure it's always on 7/7 bars. It's as if the phone initially uses a lot of power when it makes or receives a call, and battery can't cope.
For the record, I've had my silver Sirocco 8800 for almost a year now. It's been 're-flashed' at an approved Nokia centre at Xmas, and it gets used for approximately 200 mins and 150 texts a month.
    Any thoughts welcome guys.
