Same material in two company codes

Hi all,
I want to use the same material code (A1 - reynolds pen) for two company codes 1000 & 2000 what are all the implications i vl get in future,,,
plz any guide me,,,
regards,
urendra

Hi
You will not get any implications for this.
All your transactions are made effect on your valuation area.
which may be company code or plant.
In mm01 you are maintaing that material for plant level.
So data related to this material is stored for perticular plant if you are valn area is plant.
Also for stock transfer order you will have to maintain this material for both plants or company codes.

    HI,
No, It is not possible. Even though u are doing STO process u need to mainatin two different plants. More you can not assign the same plant to two company codes.but u can assign more than one plant to one company code it is like N:1 relation ship..
Please create one more virtual plant for stock exchange for other company code. Because Material valuation will happen at plant level only..

  • Two same ERP # for 2 company codes

    Hi!
I noticed that someone set up same ERP # for two different company codes for a same client.
What kind of issues this can bring from account receivables cycle perspective?
Would someone recommend to make different ERPs for different company codes?
    Thank you.
Let me know if need more precision.

    Hi,
If you want to use same COA for two company codes, you need to assign the same COA to those company codes with Tcode OB62.
Create all your GL accounts centrally with Tcode FS00.(COA level as well as first company code level), then copy all the GL accounts to the other company code with Tcode FS15.
Hope this will enough for this issue.
    Thanks,

  • WBS for two company codes

    Dear Experts,
This requirement is for an IT service project.
The process is - I have two company codes Comp code 1 & Comp code 2, In which Project is created in company code 1. Employees are assigned to project to onsite & offshore from company code 2. This means the employees are created in the company code 2. But working for the project in Comp.code 1. Comp code 2 get revenue thru intercompany billing based on number of hours/days the employee worked in the project created by the com. code 1. The employee books the timesheet in comp code 1 against the project id.
    To acheive this
    1)  i need to maintain same project for two company codes?
    2) Or same project, one wbs for one company code & other wbs for another company code?
Will the above two possible to work in SAP? or
anyother we i can workaround this
    Please advise
    Regards,
    Deepu Pillai

    Hi,
This is possible through Resouce Related billing in PS.
For e.g. Consider business scenario, where we have created T-10006 as a customer project.
Now this project is mapped using a work breakdown structure that contains activities.
The activities define the flow of the project and form a quantity structure for determining costs and payment data automatically.
The project cost plan is used to create quotations.
When the sales order is received, it is assigned to the project. This means that it can be used to plan revenue and then post this revenue.
Actual costs are entered when activities are confirmed, components are purchased and when invoices are assigned. Actual revenue is posted to the project by means of milestone billing.
Two companies are responsible for executing project T-10006.
Company 'A' is mapped using company code 1000 and performs all services except for those planned in WBS element T-10006.1.2.
Comapny 'B' is mapped using company code 2000 and performs some of the engineering services. (WBS element T-10006.1.2).
Here Comapny 'B'  bills its services to Company 'A' on a resource-related basis.
A results analysis is carried out for the billing elements T-10006 und T-10006.1.2 in the project.
The results analysis values are settled to the profitability segment.

  • One controlling area  with two company codes assigned with one CoA

    Hi,
I   am having one controlling area  with two company codes assigned , i am using the same  gl for two company codes  as cost element , when i am positng the  miro for vendor purpose  it posted the error  , to avoid the  price difference purpose , i have given  one cost center  of  first company code in OKB9 , and  overcome the error , entries posted, when i am posting new entry for MIRO   in secod  company codes with same cost  element ,  price difference of that account should go to the other cost center  which specifically created for second company code,  in the OBK9 i have given  cost center first company code   of the same GL  account , now this is another new entry in the second company code with other cost center in the second company code  since the price difference  account should sit in the other cost center of second company code,  how to  over come  this problem, pls help me
    Thanks and regards
    Murugesan

    Hi,
First, remove the default cost center in the cost element. Then, for the system to derive the correct cost center for each company codes, define one cost center for each compny codes in OKB9 just like this:
Co Code   Cost Element   Cost Center
    1000          1000000              A
    2000          1000000              B
So during MIRO, the system will derive these values you maintain in OKB9.

  • Same material master in two company codes with batch management

    Hi,
There are two company codes in one client. In one batch management is already active. But in another company code batch management is not required. Is it possible to have batch management active in one company code and inactive in another company code where both the co. codes are in the same client? The same material master to be used in both company codes.
    Thanks,
    Satya.

    Hi Satyabarata,
As far as you dont want to move the same materiel i.eStock Transfer with Inter comapy billing scenario then it  will be fine.
If you try to Transfer a Batch manged material into a non batch manged CC it will work fine. But on the other hand when do via-versa the system will ask for the Batch information where the Batch management is active.
If you want to use same Material Master for both CC then its not advisable.
Please let me know if you need any other information.
    Thx.

  • Different Bank charges GL account for two company codes with same COA

    Hi,
While configuring OBXK ( Automatic GL account for bank charges)  , I see there is provision to enter only one GL account per chart of accounts.
We have two company codes using same chart of accounts but different bank charges GL account. Please tell me how to configure this.
    Thanks,
    suresh

    Hi,
    Thanks Krishnan and Chandra.
I agree with you it could be the same GL account for bank charges, but the business requirement is such that in one of the two company codes, bank charges are required to be tracked separately to be subsequently transferred to the other company code. This means two separate GL accounts are required for two company codes which needs to be configured in OBXK.
Hope this clarifies my query further.
    thanks,

  • Merging two company codes

    Dear All,
We have two company codes with in the same company. In going forward we are going to discontinue one company code. Each company code is having 14 manufacturing plants. We want to merge these 14 plants to single company code.
Kindly suggest which are the possibilities are available and which one is better for FI and MM point of view.
    Regards
    Venkey

    Dear,
Execution of this really a though provoking but to breif you the overview.....
    FI Consideration.
You will have transfer entire trial balance to the other company code ensure the balance in company code is zero.
    MM Consideration.
Only one company code can be assinged to one plant. One plant can not have more that one company code. You may have to create a dummy plant to transfer all the material and once material quantities in transferee plant is zero, you can deattach plant to the other company code and redo the activity.
For MM activities, please work with your MM counterpart and take his/her expert advise.

  • Subcontracting- with two company codes.

    Hi PP Gurus,
We got two company codes say company code 1000 and company code 1100. We're having plants 4000 in company code 1000 and 5000 in company code 1100. Manufacturing of all SFG and FG take place at plant 5000 in company code 1100.
Now the requirement is all Raw materials are supplied from plant 4000 in company code 1000 to plant 5000 in company code 1100.
Client want all the RM cost to be captured in company code 1000 and plant 5000 will only invoice for Services that are utilized for manufacturing....
How could we map this scenario? Either through making BOM and Routing in both plants 4000 and 5000. and in Routing of plant 4000 need to activate operation subcontracting and material to be supplied to plant 5000 and latter service cost to be captured through Service entry sheet. OR MRP area or Special prcurement key to be configured in plant 5000 to suffice the requirement?
Please reply with your prompt comments.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Abu Arbab

    Hi,
This you can handle through the special procurement. Both the plants you need to maintain the material master. In Plant 4000 is your supplying plant. In plant 4000 the raw materials you need to maintain as external procurement. Plant 5000 you need to maintain this materials as special procurement as withdrawal from alternate plant. Since your production plant is 5000, you need to maintain the BOM in this plant. In Plant 4000 you need not maintain the BOM. When you run MRP in plant 5000, the planned orders will be created in Plant 4000. This you can see in MD04 screen as planning plant as 5000. But the planned order number will be same in both the plants.

  • One vendor for two company codes

    Hi Frds,
I have two company codes and i create a vendor which is applicable to both the company code.Is it required for me to create separate Payable reconciliation GL account  for each company codes or creation of one common recco  account is enuf.
Please elaborate on this as am new to this..
    Thanks,
    Rashmi Ravi

    Dear all,
SAP allows You to create a customer / vendor master data that contains information that is valid for all the Company code --> into General data.
Then there is a part, Company Code data, where You can define specific details for each Company Code.
The transaction is the same FD01 or FK01.
    I hope this helps You.

  • Can I create a single PO for two company codes

    Hi
Can I create a single PO for two company codes. Though I know that Company code is assigned at header level but still I know there is a setting in controlling which when activated two company codes under same controlling area can procure the goods under the same PO.But i forget from where to activate that message or control in config.
    Thanks

    Hi Lekhram,
I'm just beginner so maybe I got the wrong end of the stick.
If you order something that something must belong to a definite company > plant. How could possess two company the same thing at the same time (totally)?
(companies are at the same organisational level - none of them is subject to the other).
    Maybe I'm mistaken.
So I <b>guess</b> you can use only one company code for one PO.

  • Stock Transport Order between Two Company codes

    Dear All
Scenario-- Stock transport order Between two company codes.
The valuation of Comapny Codes is at Moving Average Price.
    I have a scenario
MAP of Issuing Plant-- Rs. 10 / kg
I am able to pick up the price of Rs.10 (MAP) of issuing plant while creating PO.
    in receving plant.
At the time of Goods issu the MAP has changed & become Rs.12/kg. Hence the goods issue takes place at Rs.12/- perkg.
When we make GR at receiving plant ,the valuation of GR is at Rs.10 i.e at PO price.
Is it possible to have a GR valuation at Goods issue price for that delivery note?
    Request Your feedback urgently.

The invoice has the material costs at time of goods issue.
You receipt is valuated to PO price. But when you post the invoice, then the MAP is adjusted,
By setting up EDI, SAP will probably post the invoice before the goods receipt is done, hence the GR should be valuated with the invoice price.
    from Note 518368 - FAQ: Valuation for the purchase order;
With which price is the goods receipt posted for a purchase order?
    Answer:
If the goods receipt is executed before the invoice receipt, the goods movement is valuated with the purchase order price. If an invoice is already posted, the system uses the price of the invoice. If a partial invoice is received, the partial quantity corresponding to the invoice is valuated with the invoice price, the rest is valuated with the purchase order price.
For more detailed information, refer to both the documentation of the material valuation and Note 380883.

  • One customer / vendor used to share by two company codes

    Hi experts,
is there any possibility to share same vendor or customer in two different company codes?
my client have two company codes 8000 and 9000 and that two company codes sharing the same customer /vendor  XXXXX.
now they want to post the two company codes transactions to one customer/vendor.
means when we open the customer /vendor line items  we should able to see two comapny codes transactions of that customer/vendor.
    plz advice.
    Thnaq,
    sandhya.

yes it is the same way the SAP suggests- provided address is same.
SAP vendor / customer has got two segments -
General data - which is common for all company codes and is at client level data and stored in table KNA1 (customer) and LFA1 (vendor)
Co code data- which is specific to company code - create as many views for each co code which are specific to co code decisions and accounting - and is stored in KNB1 (customer) & LFB1 (Vendor)
In the same way Sales organisation and Purchase Organisation also stored separately.
For creating Co code data, enter existing customer/vendor code and type co code and it will allow u to create both data.
Hope this is of help to u
