$10 reward certificate for buying COD question

I've pre-ordered Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare for the XBox One at a Best Buy but I am considering getting the Atlas Pro Digital Card Edition instead rather than the disc version. Does the $10 bonus certificate only apply to disc copies or it can also be used for purchasing digital cards at the store?

Hi tbflesher,
Thank you for pre-ordering Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare from Best Buy.  This will undoubtedly be one of the year's hits and I'm sure you're excited to get playing.
As enuf mentioned, to be eligible for our "Get $10" offer, you would need to purchase a physical copy of the game.  For all the details on this offer, please check out our forum post linked here.
All the best,

  • Pre-order pickup, reward certificate, and payment option questions

I pre-ordered an item on bestbuy.com for pickup at a local store. When I got there, I asked if I can use my reward certificate and the customer rep said that I couldn't. Is that true?
Another person next to her said she could back out the charges and re-enter the item, but when I told her I got it at a special pre-order price (gamers club unlocked price) she said she wouldn't be able to honor it.
Also, if I bought an item online and picked it up at the store. Can I change my payment method at the register? I asked someone a couple weeks ago and they said they couldn't change payment methods.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi there Mcbutters-
We appreciate that you choose Best Buy to place your pre-order!  I’m sorry to hear about the confusion you’ve had with this order and some others around how to get that reward certificate added to an order.  Hopefully I can help clear some things up for you.
To answer your first paragraph, that it technically true.  When you place an order for in-store pickup, you are charged for the order when the store indicates it is ready for pickup.  At that point, the payment method cannot be changed.  However, once the transaction is complete, the store may be able to perform a return and then re-ring the purchase for you.  Keep in mind however, that any funds used from gift cards, reward certificates and your credit card would not be immediately available as in general it takes a few business days for those funds to go back on the cards or accounts.
This leads me to my next point, which is generally we are unable to modify the payment method beyond changing a credit card on your order beyond 30 minutes after the order has been placed.  While your credit card is not charged until the item ships or the store indicates that it is ready for pickup, the card is generally authorized right away for 3-5 business days.  This is the same time frame we offer for changing shipping or pickup options as well, you can find more information on that here.  Another option would be to do as Batman1982 suggested and cancel your order to then place a new one.  Again, it may take a few business days for funds to return to gift cards, your My Best Buy account, etc.
However, there should be no reason why they would not have been able to apply the 20% off new games software benefit that you get from being a Gamers Club Unlocked member.
I hope that this helps, but if you have any further questions, please let me know.

  • Points Haven't Posted - $25 in Reward Certificates when you buy any smartphone Valid 5/30/15–7/4/15

I still have not received my $25 certificate for buying an iPhone during the promotion period. I bought an iPhone at Best Buy on 6/20 and switched from AT&T to Sprint. After travelling all over town and experiencing coverage issues, I decided to switch back to AT&T. I visited a different Best Buy location the same day (6/20) and exchanged/returned my Sprint iPhone so I could reactivate my AT&T account. Could this have caused a problem with the $25 Rewards applying to my account?

Greetings tjones261, and welcome to the Best Buy forum,
The promotion in-question is a great way to earn some extra points, especially if you are in the market for a new smartphone.  We have had similar My Best Buy promotions in the past that offered bonus certificates or points with the purchase of an eligible smartphone.  Let me see what I can do to help answer any questions you may have.
    1.  A smartphone would basically be classified as any mobile phone that has an advanced operating system.  They would have a touchscreen, ability to run apps, email, GPS, etc.  For example, an iPhone 6 or Samsung Galaxy S6 would be considered a smartphone.  You can look over the smartphones that are eligible for the current bonus offer here.
    2.  You would only need to enter your My Best Buy account ID number during the BestBuy.com checkout process if your accounts (My Best Buy and BestBuy.com) are not linked or if you are checking out as a guest.  Otherwise, your My Best Buy account should automatically attach to any orders you place after logging into BestBuy.com.
It can usually take up to 20 days for points to post to a member's My Best Buy account, including bonus points.  With that being said, you may not see the point value for the $25 bonus certificate (1,250 points = $25) post to your account right away if you do purchase an eligible smartphone.  I have provided a few links below that should help answer any other questions you may have; however, please feel free to send me a private message if you have other questions and I will see what I can do further assist.

  • $10 reward certificate for Shadow of Mordor.

I am hoping that the string of errors that I have encountered does not prevent me from getting the reward certificates that should come with pre-ordering Shadow of Mordor. Let me start my adventure with this....
On August 6th, I preordered Shadow of Mordor, along with two other games, on the same reciept. Now, I wanted Shadow of Mordor for my PS4 and the other two for Xbox One. I didn't pay attention and the checkout person made all 3 of them for the Xbox One. After I noticed I told her about the mistake and she assured me that I can still use it for the PS4 version and that my reward certificates wouldn't be affected. Okay, so I bought into that.
When I went to purchase Shadow of Mordor on September 30th I was assured again that it would be okay. Now, I thought I had nothing to worry about....but as I looked at the reciept yesterday I just noticed that the customer service person never used the pre-order credit towards the game....sigh. I didn't notice at the time because I used some reward certiciates, the gamers club discount, and a gift card. I didn't do the math in my head because I was rushing and just got off work.
Is there anything I can do to get the $10? What happens to my unused pre-order credit now that the game has been released? I don't lose it do I? Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi ZombieSpaceLord,
I greatly appreciate multiple games at Best Buy! I do however apologize as it sounds like there may have been a mix up with which versions of each game you wanted. I’m happy to hear that we were able to get you the correct versions upon the release dates! With that said, it’s understandable that you’d be concerned about the $10 Reward Certificate for pre-ordering Shadow of Mordor and I’ll gladly assist here.
I’ve located your final sales receipt using your email address on file for the forums and I’m going to send you a private message with some specifics about your purchase. Make sure you’re logged into your account and click the small envelope on the top right of the screen to view your inbox.
I’ll be reaching out to you shortly!

  • JWS gives 'failed to parse certificate' error for VALID code sign cert

    Hi,
For my application, After downloading jar files from web server, JWS (1.2.0_02) gives a Security Warning asking user to trust the Signer.
However, after clicking Start, it gives another Security Warning which says this:
Warning: Failed to verify authenticity of this certificate because there was an error parsing the certificate. No assertions can be made of the origin or validity of the code. It is highly recommended not to install and run this code.
STEPS TO FOLLOW TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM :
Sign App jar files with a VALID code signing certificate from Thawte or Verisign (don't use DST or RSA or any other CA as JWS supports only Versign/Thawte root CA entries by default).
Download the app using JNLP, and you will see this warning.
    EXPECTED -
It should not give the second security warning. First one is fine as user has to trust the signer.
There are no logs anywhere to find out what error it encountered parsing the certificate.
The certificate as such is valid, it was verified with keytool, openSSL and various other tools.
    ACTUAL -
After downloading an application from web server, JWS gives a Security Warning asking user to trust the Signer.
However, after clicking Start, it gives another Security Warning which says this:
Warning: Failed to verify authenticity of this certificate because there was an error parsing the certificate. No assertions can be made of the origin or validity of the code. It is highly recommended not to install and run this code.
ERROR MESSAGES/STACK TRACES THAT OCCUR :
Warning: Failed to verify authenticity of this certificate because there was an error parsing the certificate. No assertions can be made of the origin or validity of the code. It is highly recommended not to install and run this code.

    Hello,
I had the same problem. Here are some additional things to check:
    - every jar in your app MUST be signed by ONE and ONLY ONE certificate.
    - every jar which is presigned should be checked on its own. I had a bad bcprov.jar which nearly drove me nuts. Maybe there are more such 'presigned' jars around.
    One recipe aside:
Try halfing down the jars in your jnlp file further and further, until it runs again, then you'll probably find the jar which causes this. I would bet a specific jar.
There's another Bug already known which makes JWS fail on checking the certs on jars with classes which have national characters (even Inner ones!). So you might be checking that, too.
    Hope that helps...

  • Issuing a Reward Certificate trouble

I am trying to issue myself a reward certificate and for some reason it is not letting me.  When i try a message pops up "We're sorry. We're unable to issue a reward certificate."  Any help would be appreciated

    Good afternoon Xanbog,
I hope you are having a great day so far.
I pulled up your My Best Buy™ account using the email address you registered with the forum and it does not appear that you have enough points to issue a certificate.  You would need to have at least 250 points to issue a $5 certificate.  The points that you converted into a certificate last week dropped your points balance below 250, which you should be able to see by logging into BestBuy.com.
With that all being said, please do not hesitate to send me a private message if you have any other questions or if you would like for me to go over your My Best Buy™ account with you in additional detail.  You can send a private message by clicking on the blue button in my signature labeled "Private Message."

  • Best Buy exchange with rewards certificate issue

    Hi,
I have been a loyal customer of Best Buy over the years and go out of my way to shop there for my electronics. I hope someone can assist me with my problem. Below I have given a brief synopsis of what is going on. Thank you for your time.
On 01/10/15 I purchased a Bose headset using some of my best buy rewards certificates and the rest of the balances on my credit card. I forgot to use a $50.00 gift card that I had received, towards the purchase that day. On 01/13/15 I returned to the same store to ask that the receipt be credited and re rung so I could apply my $50.00 gift card. The customer representative advised that since I used best buy rewards certificates I would not be able to do the exchange since the rewards take 8 days to return to my account. I asked if the rewards could just go onto a best buy gift card and he stated they were not able to. I had no intention of returning my item; all I wanted was to get the $50.00 gift card applied to my receipt. Instead I was forced to return my headset and now wait 8 days to then repurchase the same headset in order to be able to use my best buy rewards certificates plus my $50.00 gift card. I find it ironic that best buy is willing to take in a returned item (never intended for return), make customers wait 8 days, and then have the customers travel back to the store to buy the same item over again just to be able to use their rewards certificates that were returned.
I did advise the customer service representative of how absurd the process is and he stated “I know I’ve been dealing with it for the entire holiday season but this is the only way it can be done.”   Best Buy should really take a step back and look at this process since they are incurring a loss on the returned product and the overall poor customer experience.
    Thank You

    Hi jonchiarito,
Thank you for signing up for the forum and connecting with us.
I can imagine feeling frustrated after hearing that your certificates would be returned to your My Best Buy™ account, which may cause you to have to make another trip to the store to redeem them.  The only way we could have applied the $50 gift card to your existing purchase is to process a return and repurchase, which would cause the certificates point value to repost to your account.  Since certificates have no actual monetary value, they cannot be put onto a gift card.
It can usually take between 3 - 6 business days for a certificates point value to repost to a member's account following a return, and it pretty common for the point value to repost the same day that a return is processed.  I looked over your My Best Buy™ account using the email address you registered with the forum, and from what I can see, the point value for the certificates you redeemed reposted to your account yesterday following the return.  It may take 24 hours for your account to update though.
If after 24 hours you for some reason are unable to access those points or if you have any other program related questions, then do not hesitate to send me a private message and I will see what I can do to further assist.  You can send a private message by clicking on the blue button in my signature labeled "Private Message."  Also, please feel free to post any ideas or suggestions you have to the IdeaX section of the forum.

  • Can I use two rewards certificates in one transaction at a Best Buy store?

Since you have to spend at least the value of the My Best Buy reward certificates before tax and shipping, I thought it would be best to issue the certificates in smaller amounts (maybe $5 instead of $15).  If I do that, and I have multiple certificates of $5, can I redeem them all toward a single purchase?  For example, if I want to buy a video game, can I apply multiple $5 reward certificates toward that purchase?
Also, can My Best Buy reward certificates be used toward a pre-order of a game?
Are there any restrictions on what they can be used for, other than not being able to be used for Best Buy gift cards or e-gift cards?
Thanks for answering my three questions about My Best Buy Rewards

    Hello kre1997,
Those are three great questions!  Let me see if I can help provide answers.
As long as the certificates are valid, you can apply two to a single purchase.
A certificate can be applied to a pre-order, but only on BestBuy.com.
The main exclusion is the purchase of gift card, but there are a couple others and you can those here.
Thank you for posting to the forum, and please let me know if you have any other questions.

  • Destiny - $10 Reward Certificate for Pre-order and Purchase

So as the title states, according to BB's promotion, anyone that pre-orders the Destiny game and purchases it, gets a $10 reward certificate.
I was one of the lucky few that actually pre-ordered the Destiny Limited Edition and did not have it get cancelled due to limited suppy. Regardless, why doesn't the Destiny Limited Edition have the special offer for the $10 reward certificate for pre-order and purchase? I am hoping this is just an oversite.

    Hi JBROWN52,
Congratulations on securing a copy of the Limited Edition of Destiny!
I wanted to jump in and reiterate what enuf has said. The $10 Reward Certificate bonus should be credited to your My Best Buy account within 20 days after you receive your copy of Destiny, whether it be picked up in-store or shipped to you. If for any reason you don’t see the points after this time has elapsed, please create a post letting us know and we’ll be more than happy to help out.
Let us know if you have any other questions and thanks for pre-ordering Destiny at Best Buy.

  • Reward Certificate question

Is it possible to purchase Reward Certificates using a Best Buy gift card? Thanks.

    Hello daniel77733,
I hope that you enjoyed your weekend.
The easy answer to your question is no.  A certificate is usually issued when points that have posted to a member's My Best Buy account are converted into a certificate.  There are occasions where we will issue bonus certificates as part of a promotional offer; however, a My Best Buy certificate cannot be purchased using a Best Buy gift card or any other form of payment.  Let me know if you have any other questions.

I never received the $10 reward certificate for Shadow of Mordor.

    Hi TheVila,
Thanks for pre-ordering and purchasing your copy of Shadow of Mordor with us! I hope you're enjoying the game so far.
We're aware of an issue that's resulted in pre-order bonus certificates for this title being awarded later than expected. Our My Best Buy team hopes to have a solution in place soon, so I'd encourage you to keep an eye on your account on BestBuy.com over the next week for updates.

  • Pre-order using Reward Certificates question

Background information:Back on June 25th I pre-ordered Fallout 4 and paid in full for the entire game (not just a down payment).  To pay for the order, I cashed in some Reward Points to make a $40 Reward Certificate and paid the remainder on my credit card.  All good, and I'm set for my Fallout 4 addiction... I think....  Yesterday I got an email from Best Buy reminding me to USE my $40 Reward Certificate before it expires (which is 10 days away).  Does this mean the $40 Reward Certificate has NOT actually been used, and could in fact EXPIRE while waiting for the game to come out, AND that I could show up on release day and find out I had LOST that $40 Reward Certificate, AND have to pay $40 more out of my pocket for the game?   That would make me a VERY unhappy camper....  Looking for verification of how this works, and reassurance that it WILL work now that Best Buy is acting like the Reward Certificate I used is about to expire. Danny

    Hello bullet-worm,
I can't wait for Fallout 4 to be released!
If the My Best Buy certificate was used prior to the expiration date on the pre-order, then it won't expire.  I want to make sure that it was correctly added to the pre-order.  Please send me a private message by clicking the blue box at the end of my signature with the "Customer Service Pin" from you in-store purchase or the BestBuy.com Order Number.

  • Code-signing Certificate Provider for Mavericks Server?

Our Digicert Code Signing Certificate [which worked fine in Mountain Lion Server but doesn't work in Mavericks Server no matter what I try] is about to expire, and I'm wondering if anyone could recommend a vendor whose code-signing certificates definitely work with Mavericks Server?

I have just created a self-signed code-signing certificate, I used XCA to generate it which is a front-end for openssl. Obviously being generated from a self-signed rootCA it is not going to be trusted by the outside world but it is good enough for an internal Profile Manager setup since the enrollment process will automatically trust your own self-signed rootCA.
Anyway, when trying to install it I did come across a gotcha which might help you and others here. I found that if I imported the certificate in to Keychain Access e.g. by double-clicking on it, then Server.app did not list it as an available certificate for Profile Manager code-signing. However if instead I used the option in Server.app under Profile Manager to import the code-signing certificate it was accepted.
In theory importing via Keychain Access should work as well but it did not, so if you have been doing it that way try importing via Server.app instead.
If you have already imported it via Keychain Access just delete it from your Keychain and try again.
With regards to the suggestion from ajm_from_WA for buying one from www.ssls.com I could not find any code-signing certificates listed on their website. These are different to ordinary website certificates.

  • Didn't receive $10 reward certificate promotion for Elder Scrolls for the Xbox One

One of the reasons I preordered Elder Scrolls Online for the Xbox One was the $10 reward certificate promotion that was going on. It has been over a week since I picked up the game, and I still haven't received the promotion, but my points issued for the game. Can you please check in to this and issue me the promotion? I was trying to use the promotion to make a purchase, but if I can't get it soon then I'll likely make my purchase from Amazon. Thanks in advance.

    Hello cjstingray,
I hope you're enjoying The Elder Scrolls: Online!  I just picked up the game yesterday.
