2 videos/photos at the same time?

hi
how do i go about putting 2 videos/photos on the same canvas at one time?  I would like to have multiple photos "fly" in one at a time but end up on the same screen at the end of it, a bit like a tiling or stacked effect.  Also i would like two videos playing along side on one another.  How do i do this?
I have done a search but i cant find anything, not sure i am searching for the right thing.
Thanks
Amanda

There's two ways you can go about this Amanda.
1. Set the length of your images for example 8 seconds each. Offset the photo's like a ladder effect and add the animating keyframes. The red dots in the image below represent the start/finish points of the animation.
2. The other option is to set the length of all the same, then use keyframes to set the start/ finish of the animation.
I always use example 1, however example 2 would probably be easier to understand?
Hope that helps
Tony

In Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.0, how can I delete multiple photos at the same time?   Please be a little specific so I can follow your instructions as I'm not real smart at computers; I'm an intermediate user.  Thank you.

Shift-click the photos or Ctrl-click them to select them, then right-click one of them and choose Delete from Catalog. They will all go together.

How do I apply same adjustments to multiple photos at the same time?

You can't but you can copy the adjustments made on one photo and apply/paste it onto another by:
1 - Control (right)-clicking one the edited photo in the Edit mode and selecting Copy Adjustsments
2 - Control-clicking on the next photo and selecting Paste Adjustments.

  • Open 2 Photos at the same time to transfer faces?

I want to put a new face from one picture to another, but I don't know how to open 2 photos at the same time so I can select one face to layer onto the other photo.

Just command-o or file > open and then command-click both images in the open dialogue box. Or just open them one at a time. With the move tool selected (v to select the move tool), you can drag the one image from the image window into the tab of the other image. The second image tab will activate, then release the mouse button and you should have the first image as a layer in the second.

  • Play two video files at the same time.

I am trying to play two video files at the same time. I create two threads, each of which has its own frame, playing button, and builds its own graph to play the file. Now everything seems works except that when the first file is being played and I hit PLAY
to play the second file, the program plays the second file but the first one is paused; furthermore the control button has no response for the first one. Did I miss anything? Can anyone help me figure out the problem?
    Best,
    Fayin

You don't need separate threads for 2+ playback pipelines because the filters create worker threads internally and don't block execution on calling thread.
If you decide to keep separate threads, you will have to follow Michel's advice and have message pumps on those threads.
You can also have both files in the same graph, in which case you have perfect sync between them (both start playing together in sync), however you cannot pause/stop/run files separately.
The problem you described is most likely not a DirectShow problem and is rather about generic threading, COM or window messaging.

What version of Premiere Elements are you using and on what computer operating system is it running?
This sounds like a split screen effect to me.
If so, one view on Video 1 and the other directly above that is the other view on Video 2.
Then crop each so that each occupies 1/2 the Edit area monitor screen.
(generalized since I do not know your program version, see effects Transform/Crop).
I wrote the following in 2011 for a Premiere Elements 8 user in another forum
Your basic tools to achieve your goal are Crop Video Effect and Horizontal Flip Video Effect.
Video ONE on video track 1.
Video TWO on video track 2, directly above Video ONE.
Highlight Video ONE on video track 1, Edit Mode/Effects/Video Effects/Transform/Crop, followed by adjusting the crop under Edit Effects (see bottom of Effects Panel) so that Video ONE occupies the left half of the screen.
Do the same for Video TWO on video track 2, Edit Mode/Effects/Video Effects/Transform/Crop etc. so that Video TWO occupies the right half of the screen. BUT end with Edit Mode/Effects/Video Effects/Transform/Horizontal Flip.
Highlight the video on either side to make adjusts in the Properties Palette and appropriate Panel (position, cropping, etc). But, remember that if you make changes in the "flipped" right side of the screen, Edit Effects/Crop Panel right option will be for left and left option will be for right.
You may or may not need the "flip" part of the effect.
Please review and consider. If I have misinterpreted your question, please let me know with details and I will rethink what you seek.
    Thanks.

  • Why cant I see BOTH video tracks at the same time?

I read all the manuals,I swear.
I make film collage and want to do multiple layer exposures of different clips.
So far I just have two video tracks-
Why cant I see BOTH video tracks at the same time,I mean each track will create another layer,or exposure that will both play back viewable simultaneously right ?Or would that be considered "layering"?
Does this have anything to do with the source vs. destination thing ?

FCE plays back video tracks in a "top-down" manner: that is what's on track 3 obscures what's on track 2 which obscures what's on track 1. You can control scale, position and opacity of each clip on each track so that you can get the layering you seem to be after.

  • Is there a way to see or play two video tracks at the same time?

I have video shot using two cameras at the same event.  If I take the video and put it in a sequence, say video1 and video2, how can I watch both tracks at the same time so I can edit them?  I tried using multi-camera monitor and have that show video1, while watching video2 in the right hand panel, but it doesn't work very well.  By that, I mean the multi-camera monitor does not play at the same time.  Instead, it stops, then when I play the other monitor it is still until I stop the other one.  Then, it "catches up".  If I play the multi-monitor, the other one is still until I stop the multi-cam monitor.  So, anybody have a better solution that I can use where they both play at the same time?
BTW, my hardware is brand new and I have a 6-core i7-3930K processor with 16 GB of memory, so I don't believe the problem is with my hardware not being enough to run PPro 5.0 correctly.

  • Multiple Libraries for Video running at the same time on one PC

    Hi Everyone -
I want to clarify this is for VIDEO files, not music for my 6 ATV's on the network.
Problem: I have well over 1000 VIDEOS in my iTunes Library, and I am wanting to have multiple libraries availible at the same time; not just whichever the computer has open.
We have several atv's on the network and I would like to take my video organization one step further; instead of scrolling forever in the atv menus for the video you want; I could make several libraries all availible at the same time.
    Such as:
    Kids Library
    Workout Library
    Parents Library
    etc
This in turn would shrink the primary library and have less videos to sort by.  I know how to create the Libraries, I just dont know how to have them all running at the same time.
    Infastructure:
Windows 7 Ultimate with Drobo B800FS (16TB of storage) all connected to Cisco 3660 Gig switch with multiple atv's hardwired back.

iTunes can only open one library at a time. If you have multiple computers, or virtual machines, each could be serving a different library.

  • Scanning several photos at the same time

Is there a way to have several photos or items on the scanner and have them scanned as individual items rather than one composite image?
I am using the HP Photosmart 5510 and am running Windows 7 Ultimate

    Hello there @anncognito ,
Thank you for joining us on the HP Forums today, hope you enjoy your time with us!
I understand you are using the HP Photosmart 5510 with Windows 7 Ultimate. You are wondering if you are able to use the detect separate images software HP offers to have the printer scan multiple blocks of images loaded on the scanner glass at the same time.
The simple answer to your question is yes. If you have the most recent software available for your HP Photosmart 5510 than you will be able to load different images on the printer scanner and have them scan separately. Once you get into the "Advanced Picture Settings" you should have the option to select your appropriate option.
This picture illustrates what you will see. Let me know if you need any further help! Look forward to hearing back from you!

  • Preview multiple video tracks at the same time.

This may have already been covered at some point on here but I was unable to find it. Please forgive me if it has.
I'm editing a 2 camera presentation for a company. I've laid both cameras in the sequence. Camera 1 is on V1 and Cam 2 on V2. They are in sync and ready to go. My questions is, "Can I preview or monitor both tracks at the same time as if I was switching this live?" I want to be able to preview cam 1 at the same time cam 2 is playing on the canvas so I know when to cut V2 and switch to V1. Is this possible to do in FCP? Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
    Thanks!
    Mike

It's not your only option, though you could do that if you wish.
You can still finish the edit with multiclip...(provided your clips are still in sync)
With your playhead at your last cut point, option-click on V1 to activate it's track selector as the only one active, then hit the 'f' key (this will load clip one in the viewer at that point in time). Set an inpoint on clip 1, the do the same for V2 (clip 2)
Next select both clips in the browser and hit control-click / Make Multiclip. Choose 'Synchronize using: In Points', click ok.
Now dbl-click the new multiclip in the browser, make V3 active and hit F-10 (overwrites the multiclip onto V3)Next, dbl-click the V3 multiclip in the timeline, go to the top/center button of the viewer and set the Sync to 'Open'. Then, single-click in an open space in the timeline, place your playhead at the head of the new V3 multiclip and hit the space bar. You should see both clips rolling in sync in the viewer.
Check the manual for Multiclip button bars and any additional settings like activating 'Multiclip Playback'.
    K
PS - you might want to duplicate your working timeline to test this procedure, then you can always delete the old clips and drop your V3 multiclip on to V1 to finish the edit.

  • Can't have multiple videos open at the same time?

I often start buffering another video when one is finished, so I usually tend to have 3-4 videos open at times. However, about a week ago, the adobe flash plugin would crash. So, I followed this guide:
    http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/The+Adobe+Flash+plugin+has+crashed?style_mode=inproduct
I also disabled the plugin container. Now, the plugin stops crashing, but firefox stops responding whenever I open a third video. Then, firefox itself crashes. Please help!

The same thing just happened when I opened a second video instead of a third one.

  • Seeing multiple video tracks at the same time?

I'm using Final Cut Pro 5.1.4 and I have two video tracks on the time line. 2 different angles of the same object. I want to sync the audio and what not correctly. I'm wondering if there is a way to be able to do like a "split screen" on the Canvas so I can see video track 1 on the left and video track 2 on the right (or vice versa)?? If so..help! lol, thanks!
    GC

You have a few options available to you.
    1) You could use FCP's built in Multiclip functionality
    2) You could set the Playhead Sync to Gang
    3) You could Scale and Center controls in the clip's motion properties to temporarily place the fooatge side by side whilst you edit.
Check your manual for details on these options, then post back.

  • Can I have 4 videos playing at the same time?

Ok, here is my dilemma. I use final cut express 4 curently. And I do music videos. As in multitracks. Here is an example of what I do.
    http://youtu.be/vWvyjN8KupU
^^skip about 15 sec in to see example^^
Basically, I want to know if what I do there can be done in Final Cut X. I currently just go into the motion settings. Change the scaling to 50% and then adjust the offset from center to be the lined up. But can that be done in Final Cut X somehow? I usually do clapping before the video, set a marker then line them all up the same way. Delete the audio for the actual video then put in the recorded "good" audio from the mic.
Anyways, can someone let me know if I can do this? I have not been able to find if "multitracking" is supported on FCPX. I would have many other uses for my video production stuff as well. But I do the multitracking the most. and it would be helpful to use the 4:2:2:4 color codec for my video too.
    Thanks all for the help.

Sure you could do that pretty much the same as you would have in FC Express. Simply put one track in the Primary Storyline then anchor the others above it and change their scale and offset their position. Ultimately you'll see all angles simultaneously.

  • Renaming all photos at the same time

Hi - just had a quick question about organzing all your pictures. I have multiple folders from the same trip -- and want to have them all in one folder but cannot do this because I do not know how to rename the whole batch at once...ex: China (1), China (2), China (3)...like a batch change. Vista lets you do this by selecting all the photos (with different names) and right clicking then selecting "rename" this then allows an entire batch change of the highlighted photos.
I tried this with iphoto and it worked -- but when I tried to stick them into a folder it told me there were replicas, meaning the actual properties of the picture name didn't change outside of iphoto...
Does someone know how I can rename all my photos at once so I don't have folders with subfolders?
    Cheers.

There might also be free Automator actions of AppleScripts that can perform the same functions. Finally, there is a free product by Picture Studio called "QuickImageCM" that also performs the renaming function by means of a context-sensitive menu. Below are some relevant links:
