2004s BI Patterns Problem

Hi, From what I can understand you are to create an "Information Consumers Pattern" Web Template and present that to the users. Then if they need more functionality they select the "Analysis" button.
When I select the "Analysis" button, the Analysis Web Window that opens is a fixed size that is not big enough for the report and the window can't be resized.
What can be done to make the window resizeable so that it is big enough for the whole report to be seen?

Dual G5 late 2004. Some problems with fan and freeze and now can't start

I just purchased a late 2004 Dual 2.5 Gig, with PCI-x and 1 gig ethernet. 1 Gig of what I presume to be factory ram and blue toothe. Connected to a new 23" Apple display.
The problems I have been having pale to where I stand now. I am stuck and can't move forward. At this point, the computer is off. When I try to turn it on, it does little to nothing and gradually the fan speed increases until the computer sounds like it wants to take off. The screen either stays dark, or sometimes I see the ? briefly, and then the grey screen with logo and that is where it stops. Currently I can't get past a lot of fan noise??
Can I get this thing started?? I have tried both starting from CD and hard drive. No luck.
This whole mess started yesterday and has continually gotten worse. Those details I can get into if needed, but for now, what can I do to see the screen and start over.
I just bought the machine, and I was doing a clean install that was acting funny. Hard drive sleep mode would cause the machine to not wake up. Specifically it was the monitor that would not wake up. The keyboard and the computer would still respond when I adjusted the volume. The screen was black.
I narrowed the problem to drive sleep, or monitor sleep by using the energy saver preferences. Just the monitor sleeping wasn't the probem. The computer would wake up. But if the hard drive went to sleep, then I could never get the screen back and the computer acted dormant. The only thing I could get was the volume sound from the computer and lights on the keyboard.
I ran Techtool Pro 4.1.2 ( i think ) and it reported possibe problems on the hard drive with the volume. I made the changes hoping that would fix the problem? No.
I decided to flush it all and start over with the install cd, make sure firmware was good, reformat the drive, and then install the System. But instead, I got caught is this loop of death that I can't get out of.
It had a kernal panic the first day I turned it on, but that was the last one. (dark screen with white message) The computer ran rather sluggish at times. I was shocked at times. Very slow finder response.
So? Suggestions? I have searched Apple support and tried anything I can think of. This is my first G5, but I have had some exposure to OSX beginning around 10.2. I am at my wits end and would greatly appreciate some input. For now I have to get some sleep.
Is my battery bad? It just won't start?

You could try a PMU/SMU reset

Use the second procedure if you have a button as shown in the photo - use the first method if you don't. You may not have to remove the intake fan assembly to get at the button. Observe static precautions and make sure to press the button once only.
Then try to start up on the CD/DVD.
If it fires up ok you could then proceed with the 10.4 install as before, and then combo update to 10.4.8

I would connect only a display, wired keyboard and mouse to start with - and disable any of the sleep, etc. Options in Energy Saver.
You may wish to use the Disk Utility on the 10.4 retail disc(under Utilities in the menu) to Erase and zero(select Security Options) the drive before the install.
The kernel panic and other problems could have been caused by a corrupted system on the boot drive, or by hardware problems, such as RAM, video card, battery, etc. Some of the hardware stuff is linked-to further down the post here

Illustrator 5 - patterns problem with printing

Hi please please help having majoy problems and need help asap in work!!!
I am working on a PC windows 7 illustrator 5.
when I create a pattern any type even a imple spot and fill a CAD t shirt, its fine, when I print it, it creates lines through out either vertica/horizonal when I send to someone else to print its fine when i print on another printer its fine. when using default pattern swatches from illutstrator it prints fine, it seems to be when I fill a flat CAD with a pattern and I have created it.
Is this something to do with printer? I need ergent help its driving me crazy have asked loads of IT people everyone is stuck even my collegues who have worked with software for years.
please please help!! I have tried everythint, loads of diffrent pattens and colours nothing is fixing, lines still show on pdf doc too.

Illustrator 5 is more than a decade old. If you really mean version 5, you may be hard pressed to find much help.
If by chance you mean CS5 (version 15) that's another matter.
Does the problem exisit in a new document or only in specific documents?
Have you tried trashing the Ai settings?
The fact that someone else can print it... as well as switching printers works, would lead to a issue with your print driver for the specific printer showing the issue. Or perhaps a combination of the print driver and the artwork construction. For example, the printer only handles Postscript level 2 and you need Postscript level 3 support to print the artwork properly.

My Offset filter not working in Cs6: Seamless pattern problems

Hi all.
Im trying to create a seamless pattern. using lots of layers.
Im going to filter/other/offset/, adding the vertical or horizontal dimensions for as 2953px (image size is 2953px x 2953px). and checking the ‘wrap around’ box.
But it’s not working & is cropping off loads of the layer, so not seamless at all.
I've tried with another layer and the same thing is happening.
I've 'revealed all' and shows nothing. I’ve tried to delete any transparent stray pixels around the layer I'm trying to wrap.
& I have also selected all & then cropped the image but it’s still happening.
I've googled till my hearts content but found no other idea on how to solve. Any ideas?
All my layers are from brushes I have created and used so lots of transparent textures. But that would be a problem if I have tried all of the above would it?

If you see on the top left and bottom left this is the "white flower copy" layer that I am trying to offset. This is a copy of the white flow with blue centre just to the left of the offset window.
You will see that the offset layer I want to wrap is missing the blue centre.

CFinput pattern problem

I have a bit of a weird problem. I am using validate="regular_expression" with the pattern attribute in one of the <cfinput> tags in a rather long form. There are other required fields, etc., throughout the form. If I leave the "pattern" attribute out of this one <cfinput> tag, everything works correctly and a message box pops up with any errors that are present. If I add in the "pattern" attribute, the form submits with no error checking at all. Has anyone ever run across this before?
Works (minus checking the regular expression):

Can you provide a fully-function, self-contained example that demonstrates what you're seeing (ie: a bare-minimum complete form, and examples of input data that demonstrate it)?

UT 2004 Hardware audio problems, aswell as some other gam

I have an Audigy 9000 (I bought it OEM so all I know is what it tells me in the control panel) and all my drivers are up to date. When in Unreal Tournament 2004 all the music and sound is perfect if I keep it in 3D audio mode but when I Change it to Hardware 3D or HW 3D+EAX it wont play any music and in the intro movie (and the rest of the game) no music plays and alot of the sounds are really quiet while some are rediculously loud. I can play it fine in 3D sound mode but I did not buy a good audio card to replace my integrated 5. sound card just to use the same settings. Does anyone else have this problem and how can I fix it's Also in World of Warcraft no sound comes out during movies and there is no music in the game but all the other sounds play. But UT 2004 is my primary concern, I even tried re-installing it and yes my UT2004 is the latest vers.

Wait and buy a new sound card. Test this first! Install lets say XP and then after your normal soundcard installation "copy" the installed sounddrivers folder for you specific card. Then you paste that folder on a usb drive/cd or another harddrive that you again c/p inside to Vista when thats installed. Check in the device manager for audio and Update that with the drivers from your copied drivers folder from XP if you dont get an automatic driverinstallation. If you do use that guide. Vista will prolly scream that the drivers where'nt checked etc. Skip that mess and just install anyway (on your own risk ofcourse! ) and then reboot the pc. If all goes well as it did for me the sound will now work flawless even if not a specific software that came with the card might do. If this tip didnt work well then its probably time for a total new soundcard that does support Vista 100%. Good Luck!

Dual G5 2.0 Power Mac (June 2004) referb - booting problem

Hi all - my dual G5 2.0 Power Mac (June 2004) decided to rev its fans and boot no more. When I push the power button in front, the white light comes on while pushing it, then goes off, yet I hear the fans starting, the hard drive spinning etc. The key board isn't getting power (the caps light doesn't go on) and after a few minutes the fans rev like a jet engine...starting slow then gaining speed. I can't open the DVD from the key board (have tried all usb ports). Have also looked through this discussion area and tried many of the solutions provided (reset the PMU, unplug, try different outlets etc.) Any help would be appreciated. I do have Applecare but they are closed for the night.

Your OS is not loading and the fans default into a speed up mode.
Power up and hold down the mouse button, the cd tray will spit. Insert Tiger/install disk and power boot holding c. (note: use a wired keyboard/mouse directly to the machine and nothing else for now)
In the Installer, select Disk Utility from the menu>Repair disk/permissions. note any errors you see.
If you can't access the drive, it might be dead. I hope you backed up files.
All you need to do is get a new drive and reinstall Tiger etc.
If you can get a 6 pin firewire 400 cable to each Mac and t boot the problem Mac. the hard drive should appear on the other which you can recover files.
If the OS is fried you can do a archive and install too.

Pattern Problems

I am trying to make a diagonal line pattern to fill a shape. Easy, right? Well for some reason I can't get it to line up. I followed Teri Petti's instructional Pattern Helper, which was great. My thanks for those gurus who make themselves and their resources available. It looks perfect when I apply the transform to it, but the paths are cut off at the edges when I make it a swatch. Here's a screenshot that shows more detail than I can easily describe.

In your second two screenshots, it may just be anti-aliasing.
The way to tell the difference between anti-aliasing problems and real tile design problems is that anti-aliasing problems are never more than one pixel wide no matter what the zoom level. They even tend to look worse when zoomed way out like to 25% or less, and may disappear entirely at very high zooms such as 3200% or more. In contrast, a real problem with the tile stitching will get wider and more noticeable as you zoom in.
Once you've verified that it isn't just an anti-aliasing artifact, the best way to trouble-shoot a pattern that isn't working is to drag out a copy of the definition from the Swatches palette. First use the Layers palette to verify that the unpainted rectangle you meant to be the boundary tile is at the very back of the definition. (If it isn't, then either your unpainted rectangle was not at the back, or it was not selected, or it was not a true rectangle.)
Then, assuming the tile rectangle is in the correct place, select the tile rectangle with the white-arrow-plus tool (so that you get the entire thing), copy it, then select the whole definition group and Paste in Front. Select the definition together with your extra copy of the tile rectangle, and do a Make Clipping Mask. (This simulates what happens with pattern fills: they implicitly get clipped to the tile boundary.)
Now select the whole clipping group by mousing down on the top left corner of the tile rectangle, and alt-drag a copy, snapping to the top right corner of the tile rectangle, so that you have two copies side by side. Then do the same thing moving down, so that you have two copies top to bottom. Flip back and forth between outline view and preview view, looking for places where the objects don't match up at the edges.
With diagonal lines it can be tricky getting the width and height both to be correct, although 45° isn't hard. Also, whenever you have slanted lines with strokes on them, you don't want the endpoints of the lines to be exactly on the tile boundary, or you get the business I referred to earlier, where there is a gap when the stroke doesn't extend all the way to the edge.
I'll try to put together some screen shots showing the above phenomenon.

Add Word 2004 to Spaces problems

Along with Lightroom, Word 2004 does not work properly with Spaces. Selecting it via the Dock does not change to a Word space properly.

I’m not familiar with the Wacom tablet. You said you were using the Dock. If you said you were using the a Wacom tablet, I probably would not have bothered you with a reply.
I haven’t updated yet to 10.5.3, but watching the problems people are posting here. So far, they don’t look very severe if instructions were followed to make a bootable backup, repair permissions, disconnect peripherals, and use the Combo update.
Happy to hear you are not having any dramatic issues.
Also, since you have updated to 10.5.3 you should probably update your information to reflect that.

URL Pattern problem

I deployed an ear which has a web module with contextroot '/test'. It has a jsp whose url-pattern is mapped to /testjsp. From a html form i'm calling this jsp and the action attribute is /test/testjsp. But the error is resource not found /test/servlet/<servlet-name>.
1)Where is this /servlet coming from?
And the same webapp seems to work fine in tomcat.
2)How does the Netweaver server behave with context root and URL mappings?
3)Is there any configuration change to be done?

Microsoft Office 2004 mutliple license problems

I have just bough one OfficMac student edition with 3 licenses and 3 Product Keys.
I installed it in two computer on the same network and they are both using leopard.
everything works fine, but I can't turn on any office program when there is one program already working in the other computer. It says it is already in use by the other user.
How can I fix this?!

You should contact Microsoft Support for help. Office Mac is their product. It sounds like a problem with the separate license keys not being recognized.

MX 2004 re-install problem, won't run!!!!!!!!

I have had Director MX 2004 installed on another computer. I
used PClink to transfer my files to a new computer. I can not run
ANY Macromedia product. I uninstalled all Macromedia products and
tried to re-install Director MX 2004. I get a message that the
install was successful but when I try to run Director nothing
happens, no errors, just no Director program.

I already followed that link. I downloaded the iMac Superdrive update and installed it. And that Superdrive Firmware update is only for G5's and eMac's.
I thought it might be a bad disc, so I went to the Apple store to exchange my disc for a new one. And the new one doesn't work either.
So, I'm still at a dead end. Any other ideas?

Regex pattern problem

I've been working my way through the Pattern API, and it's been working well for me so far, but I've stumbled on the following point:
How do you represent the "[" or "]" literal characters?
Basically the pattern I'm trying to match is a timestamp that would look like [00:00], so I'm looking for a pattern like "\[[0-9]{2}:[0-9]{2}\]" (replacing "\[" and "\]"with something that works).
Any help is appreciated.
