Hi,
having som problems with Neo 648F+ FX5200 + 2X256 DDR400 + P4 2.8Ghz CPU+ PSU 450W.
it all works fin untill i installed the P4 2.8Ghz (i had Celeron 2.8Ghz). the system works more slowly & some times when i open one aplication the PC restarts ...
Anybody have a solution for this problem?? Then just buy som new hardware!

Is this a 2.8 Northwood or a 2.8 Prescott. The board doesn't support Prescott.

Thats a pretty big heatsink. Doesnt it put strain on the AGP slot?

    Hi,

My GPU is ought to be 5200 but under the heatsink it is 5200 Ultra
soo i need help about that how can i found vga bios for to turn its bios to 5200 Ultra's
My xp drivers saying it is 5200, after i updated bios will it be turn to 5200 Ultra...?? it must be but is there any compability issues known by anyone ??
And it is 5200 Ultra why it doesn't needs external power input[From PSU] like other Ultras have ?
If i rise the AGP voltage will it be helpful to use all power of 5200Ultra ?
    thanx for your time ...
    Sorry for my english

Since this issue is regarding a VGA card I'm moving your thread to the VGA Forum...

I doubt you want to do that considering some of the parts on the board aren't the same as an Ultra board and so if you flash it to Ultra BIOS then you'll render it dead...
It's your board tho so if you feel froggy dive in I'm game to watch! heheheheh
You can't find a BIOS file for these except thru LiveUpdate unless someone saved it before the flash...

    Thank you of your reply,
but I am confuse which one I need to refer?
My processor is Pentium 4 and my VGA card is MSI FX5200-T128.
So which "Graphics Drivers" I need? Linux IA32 or Linux IA64?
    And which "nForce Drivers"?
Should I need to upgrade my BIOS before I install the driver?
My motherbroad series is 875P Neo Series.
can please guide how to upgrade by manually (not LiveUpdate).
At tne meantime, I found another VGA driver from "www.viaarena.com/?PageID=296"
but is only provide for "AS IS" type. May I know is "MSI FX5200-T128" as same as "AS IS" type?

  • FX5200-T128 AGP (Tv-Out)

    Hello
Hopefully someone can answer my question since MSI doesnt return my emails or my phone calls.  This makes me want to spend my hard earned money buying another MSI product.
I just built myself a new system  and cant figure out why I am having the problems with this video card. I am using this video card until I decide which one to upgrade to.   A little about my system first.
    CPU:  AMD XP 3200+
Ram: Cosair (2) 512meg) chips PC3200 (Mastching Pair)
    MB: Gigabyte 7nnxp (Latest Bios)
Sound Card: Sound Blaster Live 5.1
    HD's: 85, 120, 160 gig Maxtor Drives
    MSI FX5200-T128 (Latest Bios)
    KDS VS-195 19 inch Monitor
I am running the Latest Bios and software MSI FX 5200 Drivers 53.03 (Nvidia Drivers) for the FX5200-T128 AGP 8X video card and still have these problems.
The problems I am having probably have something to do with the refresh rate but i'm really not sure just guessing. The taskbar (down below) turns a solid color and you can't see the icons on it when dong different  tasks on the computer. Evently it goes back to normal and everthing goes back to normal.  When I first boot the computer up I get a white background (which doesnt bother me to much).  Plus I use Photoshop a lot and when I am first booting that up the screen goes to white but after its loaded up I see everything I need to see.  If I am in Photoshop doing some editing the whole screen turns white and usually the only way around it is to press the esc key and sometimes I loose my work and have to start over. If I go to the control panel then select the display icon/settings/advance/troubleshoot/hardware acceleration.  If I lower the performance on the card way down then i don't have a problem but why would I do this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
    Michael

IF you had done a search and some research on that card you would see that it's a glorified GF2 440 MX equivelent and is not a high end video card for much else than a normal business workstation...graphic editing wouldn't be my first choice to do with that card...
Now you could have a bad motherboard as well...power supply could be light on it's output to power your components...it could be a lot of different things...
Need to troubleshoot your system with known good parts of the same manufacturer and chipsets...
    Good Luck!!

  • FX5200-T128 Screen flash on log in....

    Hi there,
Just purchased the MSI FX5200-T128 card and installed with a new installation of XP and supplied drivers.  Upon log in with any user the screen flashes twice, then logs in.  Also when I go to the display settings and go to the FX5200 tab the screen flashes.  Windows update indicated that I needed a new driver signed in July (I think) so I downloaded these.  These were 45.23.  After installation of these, hitting the display manager toolbar icon causes the screen to flash, as well as retaining the previous flashing problems!
This morning I have downloaded the 45.33 drivers with the same results.
Any ideas why my screen keeps flashing!?
    Thanks in advance,
    Mark
    Athlon XP 2000
    Gigabyte GA-7VRXP
    1024Mb PC2700
    MSI FX5200-T128

I have another problem.  I know that support for this card is poor with the current XFree and have downloaded the run file from Nvidia.  I have a new HD and started to boot Mandrake 9.0 from CD.  It got as far as hitting enter to start the install....then the screen went blank and that was it....
So now I have problems in both Linux and WinXP!!
Any help would be much appreciated,
    Mark

  • Concerning FX5200 T128 with and without fans!

I have seen the MSI FX5200 T128 VGA card in two shapes: one with a heat sink, and another, a bigger one, with a fan or what's called Twin Flow.
Both of them are MSI GeForce FX5200 T128!
What is the difference between them?

One with bigger fan is overclocked and with temp sensor.

  • MSI 648F NEO SiS AGP trouble/wont detect nvidia FX5200

    Hi!
I recently did an emergency build using the 648F Neo (my old syntax board died).  Everything went well, but when I went online I noticed my graphics were very choppy.  I checked my Display settings and noticed that my nvidia fx5200 wasn't even being recognized!
I went to the Device Manager, and saw that the 5200 wasnt listed their, either.  However, I did notice that under "System Devices" there was a listing for "SiS Accelerated Graphics Port", and this listing had the yellow-dot-with-an-exclamation-point warning attached to it.  However, when I right clicked on it, and checked the driver, it listed the driver as "5.1.2600.2180" , with a driver date of "12/9/2004".  I used the driver off the Cd, and off the MSI website, but with no different result.
The device manager also provides me with this info: "This device cannot start. (Code 10)".
When I try to download the nvidia driver, it informs that it could not detect any drivers that are compatible with my current hardware.
    Any suggestions?

    Here's where we stand:
I got rid of of the drivers i had installed, both AGP and Nvidia.
I started in safe mode, and reinstalled SiS AGP driver ver. 1.21
I then tried to install the nivida drivers.
Same result: "could not find drivers compatible with hardware" etc.,
My device driver screen shows that the Sis Accelerated Graphics Port fails to start ANYTIME I have 1.21 loaded up.  Should I try an older version?  Even if i dont try to install the nvidia drivers, I still get the exclamation point warning that the SiS AGP failed to start.

  • MSI 648F Neo with ASUS N7600GS video

    Hi!
When my ABIT KD7 motherboard died, I changed to a MSI 648F Neo motherboard. The problem is that the MSI works fine with a GeForce FX5200 video card, but won't even boot with a N7600GS.
My ABIT KD7 worked fine with both of those cards.
    MSI motherboard supports AGP8x, N7600GS is AGP8x.
MSI chipset is SiS 648FX - which is a universal 1.5V AGP 3.0.
    N7600 - Universal 1.5V AGP 3.0 Card.
Does anyone know what is the problem? Maybe I need to update something or the 648F isn't compatible with a N7600GS?

Please update your SIS system driver.

Did it. Same situation, only when I changed it back to my older video card the first time I turned on the PC it started beeping like crazy and I nearly shat my pants  But I reinserted it and everything is back to normal.
I think this is just one of those rare situations where the 2 compatible things aren't compatible.

  • Msi 648F Neo - standby

Hi all! I am new here so I would like to greet you!
I have 2 questions for which I would really appreciate your help.
    1) I have MSI 648F Neo motherboard. Do you know how I can enter in stand-by mode? Also, do you know how I can keep the network running when I enter in standby mode?
Just to explain, I have recently installed a remote-communication software in my office PC so as to check my e-mails from my home PC. However, I would like to set my office PC in stand-by mode when I leave from the office (so as not to consume too much electricity) and be able to wake it up from my home PC when I use this software. I suppose that the only way to do this is for the network to keep running when the PC is set to stand-by mode. Do you have any idea how I can do this? (or generally any other idea that may help?)
    2) Recently a friend of mine has given me a 100gb hard drive. However, this hard-drive is SATA and my motherboard has only IDE outlets. Do you have any idea how I can connect the SATA hard-drive to my MSI 648F Neo mother board? (through USB maybe? or through any IDEtoSATA adapter?)
I thank you very much in advance for replying to my questions and I really appreciate your assistance.
    Michael

in BIOS Power Management settings, set standby/suspend mode to "S3". look for "Wake on..." options, and enable as desired
in Windows, go to Power Options in Control Panel. you can set your computer to go into standby mode automatically if not used for a period of time. you can also change the behaviour of the Power button on your case, to enter standby mode instead of shutting down

you can buy a PCI SATA Controller card

The current model closest match which I can find is
MSI 661FM2-LSR Socket 478 SIS 661FX Micro ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail
    Specifications here
It will be similar in many regards and will support your components but only has 2xmemory slots.
Maybe you can choose a mainboard which you like the look of and post the model number so I can see if it might be compatible.
i think i will buy http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813130467 that one. Does it work?
