A way to track where all the Sub Var are applied?

Hopefully this is the section where to post.
Is there a way of tracking where all the substitution variables are being used in the reports?
Either in reports or calc scripts, or in a 3rd format, if there is one.
We just don't want to open up each script individually and scan for use of the sub var, or open each report and see if it's used.

Why does 'Minimize' and 'Zoom' appear twice in the Window menu? They appear under the rule, where all the open windows are listed.

Album artwork isn't showing up in album view (where all the albums are) but IS showing up when you drill into the specific album.

Nope, that doesn't work. First, I manually manage the music, but even deleting and using auto-fill, doesn't put all the album art in place even though it is all on the songs in iTunes. Even copying and pasting from iTunes to the iPhone does not get the artwork to show up, despite the fact it shows up in "Info" on the iPhone in iTunes. Plus there seems no rhymn nor reason as to the missing artwork, some ripped songs have it, some purchased songs do not. Bizarre! But I've run across this problem every since time I've restored an iPhone and had to redo the music separately, however, previously I could manually drop and drag the song over after the auto-fill to replace (after deleting on the iPhone) and the artwork would show up. Not this time however. This is one of those details I find extremely annoying!

Not having ALL the sub links appearing on top of page? Please help...

Is there any way to set up a "main" page for the photo gallery on iWeb, and have that particular page link to various sub pages, without having all the sub galleries appear in the link section at the top of the page?
To be more clear, I am a graphic designer and when I am in "Design" and you click on "Identities" it takes you to a new page with a logo, then you click next, see the next one...ect...but all these sub pages appear.... I just want "Design" to be up there, not all the sub pages.

Welcome to the discussions. In iWeb, display the page you don't want to be displayed in the navigation menu, and in the Inspector > Page tab, uncheck "Include page in navigation menu". (Repeat that for each page you don't want to be displayed in the navigation menu.) Here's a _video tutorial_.

You won't lose anything because you have a back up, right?
Most Simple Back Up
Drag the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to another Disk. This will make a copy on that disk.
Slightly more complex:
Use an app that will do incremental back ups. This is a very good way to work. The first time you run the back up the app will make a complete copy of the Library. Thereafter it will update the back up with the changes you have made. That makes subsequent back ups much faster. Many of these apps also have scheduling capabilities: So set it up and it will do the back up automatically. Examples of such apps: Chronosync or DejaVu . But are many others. Search on MacUpdate
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

How to keep track of all the classes/methods/properties created in a long script

Hi,
I'm curious to know what method people use to keep track of all the classes, methods, and properties you've created when writing a longer script.
For quick scripts, this isn't a problem. But for long scripts it can get quite difficult to keep track of all the objects one has created, and all their methods and properties, and overloaded constructors, etc.
ESTK is great, and it's the IDE I use for InDesign scripting, if only because of it's powerful debugging options.
But it doesn't provide any way of keeping track of this stuff. No proper Intellisense as in Visual Studio.
I'd be interested to hear how people solve this issue.

If you didn't set up Find My iPhone or it otherwise does not appear in icloud.com, then there's no way to trace it. Notify the police and your cell carrier, and change any passwords for any online accounts you may have used from your iPhone (the iTunes Store, for instance).

Add an item into announcement list in site collec. and repeat the same in all the sub webs' announcement list without using event receiver

I have a requirement: in my site collection i have an announcement list. and in my site collection some 600+ sub sites exist. sharepoint admin uploads an announcement into this rootweb's announcement list. now is there any way
i can add the same announcement -which has title, description, date time etc .- to all the 600+ sub sites' announcement list?
i know , if i write a list item event receiver i will be able to iterate through eacha nd every subweb of my site collec and add this item into those sub web's announcement list. But, without writing an event receiver and creating and deploying
another wsp and avoiding all those headache, is it possible to achieve this requirement?
any other approaches are highly appreciated!

As a workaround, we can create a winform application for admin use only to add the item to all the sub web's announcement list.

If you enabled Find My iPhone, you may be able to track it by logging in to icloud.com, click on Find My iPhone and seeing if the phone's location is listed.
If you did not enable Find My iPhone, there is no way to try to track your phone.

Every 2 hours redo is backed up to tape.
There are no significant batches, shaking and shuffling the data around all the time.
Nearly all changes in this database is happening through user inputs.
Database is 11gR2 on Redhat 5.6.

I am afraid there is no easy and direct way to pull the answer from the data dictionary.
But with some work, you can get to the bottom of this.
This query shows you how much redo is used by the sessions in your system currently:
select a.sid , a.value from v$sesstat a, v$statname b
where a.statistic# = b.statistic#
and b.name = 'redo size'Unfortunately, I am not aware of a AWR view (license required!) that corresponds to v$sesstat, so it would not be easy to look back and see which session generated the redo.
One way is to troubleshoot the problem online, using a utility such as snapper- http://blog.tanelpoder.com/2010/03/22/oracle-session-snapper-v3-10/ . See which sessions generate most redo and see what SQL they are running at that time.
The other way is to create your own “repository”. Sample V$SESSION, v$sesstat , v$statname and possibly V$SQL frequently (every few seconds) and record how much redo and what SQLs are running by each session. Once you gather enough data, look which sessions had the biggest “redo size” delta and what SQL were they running at that time.

I tried deleting FireFox and reinstalling it multiple times, and a message pops up sometimes that says FireFox may not have installed correctly, so I follow the steps, but all the extra icons on my desktop don't go away. This has happened every time I have downloaded FireFox. The browser itself works, but I need to know how to get rid of these icons, but still be able to use FireFox. This is on a new computer, with Windows 7.

Managed to solve this myself. Just went to properties > hidden.

HT1202 My iPod is set to manually manage music. I have tons of different music from different computers on my iPod. Unfortunately my iPod is getting old and I'd like to purchase a new one. Is there any way I can transfer all the music to a new iPod?

Unfortunately I dropped my iPod and the screen cracked. It still plays music and everything just fine, but it has problems with it's battery life so I'd like to just get a completely new iPod nano. Is there any way I can transfer all the music from my iPod touch onto a new iPod nano? From what I can tell it won't let me sync any of the music on my iPod touch that is from other people's computers onto my laptop, and so I wouldn't be able to put it on a new iPod nano. Hopefully that makes sense. I'd just really really like to be able to keep all that music and not lose 2/3 of my iPod touch music library because I want to put it on a newer Ipod.

Go to System Preferences > Trackpad > Scroll & Zoom, and uncheck Scroll direction: Natural.
