About XMLSocket reconnection

hello: I got a question about XMLSocket. The problem is this:
if the connection is established to the server then it is done. if
the connection is not successfully established then it will retry
the connection 10 seconds later.
here is my code:
class .... {
public function Connect():Void {
var _isConnected:Boolean = _conn.connect(_hostIP,
_hostPort);
_conn.onConnect = function(_isConnected:Boolean):Void {
if (_isConnected) {
_conn.send("Hello there.");
// MessageModule();
} else {
trace("No connection.");
// Wait(); ???
// Reconnect(); ???
in my code I try to send "Hello there if it succeeds" while I
still can't figure out how can I implement the //Wait() and
//reconnect part. please give me some help. Thanks!!!!!

  • Reconnect question? Can anyone answer this?

    Can anyone answer a this question about using Reconnect:
    I have over 400 pictures that didn't restore out of a 202GB Full Backup. The catalog contains over 5 years of pictures. The Full Backup file is on K: external drive. If I use the reconnect and it reconnects those pictures to that K: external backup file, then do I always have to keep that external drive plugged in while I use that catalog that reconnected those pictures to the external drive?
    If the answer is yes, then is it possible to make a copy of that Full Backup and put it on the C: drive so I can disconnect that external drive and keep it in a safe place? I have plenty of room on the C: drive since I upgraded to a 2TB main drive.
    If it is possible to make a copy of that Full Backup and move it to the C: drive can you please tell me the proper procedure. Thank you!

    Why are you asking this in a user-to-user iPhone forum? The ONLY source for a definitive answer about the brand new, not yet implemented AT&T data plans is AT&T. You need to contact them. Any "answer" you get here is purely guesswork.

  • Reconnect issues

    Hi,
    I'm having an odd issue with Color that's ruining our project. We did an edit in FCP 6.0.4 with R3D footage converted to ProRes and did an offline edit. After the edits were made, we offlined the timeline clips, and batch captured the footage as REDCODE, and moved it all over to Color. Here's where things went wrong. I copied the Color project file, all related media, and the media-managed FCP project file to an external drive and sent it to the post house for online. When they got it, all the colors looked crunched. All the settings were the same, REC709, ISO320, grades were the same.
    They called and said that by changing the ISO of the REDCODE clips, it comes out ok for them, so I'm guessing there's a discrepancy with our 1.0.3 version compared to whatever they have. That's problem 1, figuring out what caused the color crunch.
    The second problem came when I tried to load the Color project on our end again. All the media was disconnected, and using the Reconnect utility under File, or clicking "reconnect" under the right-click menu didn't do anything, despite selecting the exact clip. I updated to 1.0.4 from 1.0.3 after learning about the reconnect and ISO issues of 1.0.3, and Color only reconnected half of my clips. Does anyone know what the reconnect issue is?
    Thanks in advance.

    Right click on the COLOR timeline and see if the reconnect media dialog helps.

    I ended up performing a security wipe on my device. The security wipe finished, and I was about to reconnect with Exchange when I decided to visit our host's web site to see if they had any articles covering the issues I was experiencing. While they didn't have anything specific, I did find a step-by-step guide to connecting a BB10 device to Exchange... and right there at the end, it said "Do NOT enable memo sync."
    I contacted support, and the rep told me that OS 10 has an issue with memo sync and it can cause all sorts of unpredictable behavior. Now, whether or not this is accurate I can say this: So far, the device is not disconnecting and reconnecting like it was before. Problem is, is this a result of not enabling memo sync, or is this a result of the security wipe?
    I may have overlooked it, but I don't recall reading anything about that anywhere else. I'm tempted to try re-enabling the memo sync to see if everything blows up again. At least that way I can see for myself if the memo sync is a real issue. Of course, perhaps it's an issue with SherWeb (our host) specifically. Hm...
    Anyway, for those that were interested, and for those that may come along in the future with a similar situation, the strange behavior that I first reported is no longer happening. I just don't know if it was a result of a security wipe or a result of not enabling memo sync with Exchange.

  • Issues with Exchange Account and Q10

    Well, I hate to be writing this, but I'm hoping that there might be someone out there that can help get past some first day issues I am experiencing.
    The background: I have a long history with legacy BlackBerry devices, and almost as much history with iOS devices. My most recent phone was an iPhone 4S, and I make extensive use of iCloud to keep my iMacs, iPhone, and iPad connected in real-time. The setup worked. It wasn't perfect, but it worked. However, because I used to have a BlackBerry device (most recent the 9930) and because I don't use the iPhone for more than e-mail, iMessage, and phone calls (generally speaking), I decided to give the newest BlackBerry device a shot. So I bought a Q10.
    At this point I feel compelled to say that the hardware is everything I had hoped it to be. It's solid, has a good weight, and appears to be made very well. I have no complaints with the hardware, including the keyboard (a big selling factor for me), so I won't really get into the hardware as the issues I am experiencing all have to do with the OS. Let me also say that I am very familiar with the iCloud integration issues (missing Contact photos and disabled Calendar sync), so I'm not voicing a complaint over those issues in this thread.
    I have connected my Exchange account. I used to have everything in Exchange before I moved my entire computing world over to Apple, and now I keep Exchange around for e-mail. Therefore, I have no contacts, no tasks, no notes, very limited calendar entries, and a massive amount of e-mail on the Exchange server. However, to test everything out, I have added a single contact record so I can see it show up on the phone and be able to test two-way sync between the Q10 and Exchange. And here is where the first issues crop up. It looks like Exchange connects and then disconnects at random. For example, if I open my Contacts on the phone, I see the one contact (called John Doe). Then, as the phone is sitting there with the screen on, the contact will disappear and I will see a "Start adding contact to your contact list" notice on the screen. Then, after a short period of time, the single contact will return. It is important to note that the entire time this is happening, the All Contacts option is selected in the list so that all available contacts are shown. Additionally, I have SIM card contacts turned off, but if I alter the selection in the view list (All Contacts, Favorites, etc.), the SIM contacts will re-appear when I return to the All Contacts view. At the same time, even though I have turned off SIM Contacts in the settings, the setting has reverted to show SIM Contacts. If I turn off the setting again, SIM Contacts still show up. Possibly related: I can't delete contacts on the SIM card, no matter how many times I try, and it now it seems that I can't get SIM Contacts to go away in the Contacts app.
    Likewise, Exchange seems to connect and disconnect from Calendar. I go to the calendar and move day by day to June 15th. I see an entry that I know is from Exchange (I have no other connected calendars at this time), and it is in blue. I change the calendar color to green and the entry changes color, as expected. However, if I jump back to today and then scroll day by day to get to June 15th again, the calendar entry is missing. After a few seconds, the entry re-appears, but it is, once again, in blue. The setting has reverted itself, and it seems like Exchange is completely disconnecting and automatically reconnecting to the phone like I am setting it up again for the first time. Very odd. As I'm typing this, I just saw something odd. I swiped to wake up the phone, and the active frames screen was the visible screen. The calendar app is still running (since I left it running, minimized, when the phone went to sleep) and the date shown in the active card was Jan 1, not Jun 8. Why? The date (and time) on the phone is correct and is set automatically by the cellular system.
    Nevertheless, looking at BlackBerry Hub, I see only two e-mails in my Inbox from Exchange, even though I have roughly a dozen in my Inbox. The rest are filed in sub-folders. And bam! Just like that... I get the "Add Accounts" screen while looking at the Hub. In other words, as I was typing this, I first saw two Exchange e-mails and then, out of nowhere, the e-mails disappear and I see the "Add Accounts" screen as if no account has been connected.
    So... first question: Is anyone else experiencing this issue? This is very strange, and very frustrating. Second: could this be related to the large amount of e-mails I have stored on Exchange, some of which have large attachments? I selected "Forever" as the sync history length. I have my concerns, however, if this is related to loading historical e-mails onto the phone (in other words, the first sync with Exchange) because there is no reason that I can understand that the phone would blank out as if no account was connected at all. I can understand lag and stuttering while the history is syncing, but not a complete disconnect and reconnect. Considering all of the issues with the one and only contact record disappearing, the calendar entry for Jun 15th disappearing and then reappearing with the wrong calendar color, and e-mail in my Inbox incomplete (two of a dozen e-mails) and ultimately disappearing, I feel like this OS just has some real, significant issues.
    Full disclosure: I do want iCloud to work and am a fan of Apple products, but the lack of full iCloud sync support is not a big enough issue for me to want to send back this phone and/or see it fail so miserably. I will happily move my info from iCloud into Exchange, Google, and/or set up a new Exchange account for personal use (Office 365) because I am not wedded to iCloud per se. But, I won't go through that trouble if I can't even get my first account to work properly. It should also be noted that I do have a basic Google account (non-paid) and I had previously attempted to connect to it. However, I was experiencing the exact same issues with contacts disappearing, e-mail disappearing, etc. So I deleted that account. Truth be told, I deleted the Exchange account as well, and then re-connected to Exchange only to test one account at a time. Unfortunately, even with Exchange only, I am seeing very strange and frustrating behavior as described above.
    Help... please. I want this to work but the frustration I am feeling is growing worse by the hour.

  • Issues with iCloud synchronisation and contacts over two or more devices.  iTouch and iPad2 sync with different results from iMac.  Thoughts?

    Has any one experienced issues with iCloud synchronisation and contacts over two or more devices? The primary machine is an iMac running Lion. Address Book was created from vcf file (backup of address book prior to moving to iCloud). iTouch replicates Contacts just fine and matches the Address Book on the iMac. The iPad 2 does not showing only 123 contacts where there should be 200. I have turned off iCloud on both devices thus erasing the iCloud content of both devices and staring from scratch with both devices with identical results. Even turned off iCloud on the iMac and erased the Address Book and rebuilt with the same results. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions? I am going nuts.....

  • Re-connection opens new window

    This is a scenario I face regularly. I open SQL*Developer connections and have it open for few days. During this, if we have a db bounce, then I have disconnect and reconnect all my SQL Developer connections. Re-connecting is understandable, but they all open in new windows. The existing wondows are useless. Why can't SQL*Developer re-connect from an existing open window (which is usually full of queries)?
    Re-connecting from an existing open window is such a basic feature available in almost any xyz tool that I don't think this can be even qualify as a feature.

    Hi Sue,
    While I was talking about automatic reconnection instead of reconnection in general, -K- has highlighted some of the issues with the current manual reconnection process (manual "detection" of lost connection, manual disconnect, manual connect).
    Given that some earlier versions (1.1 to 1.5?) did attempt to automatically reconnect (although it did have problems), I assume that this is functionality that the team thinks would be good. As it is not in the current version, I kind of assumed that it was too hard to get working well and was taken out.
    For what it is worth (even though this is probably not the ideal place to reiterate this), my preference would be for SQL Developer to automatically detect the lost connection (when it first attempts to use it after it is lost, rather than proactively) and to provide the user with an option to reconnect (including whatever is required for open tabs to be able to be left open and still work) or disconnect (as if selecting disconnect). If this could be done, then I would also see that we could make a Reconnect option available on the connection pane, for the cases where we want to reconnect a current connection and don't want to go through the reopening of all the same tabs, etc.

  • Deleting Photos off Organizer - help!

    I've just deleted hundreds of photos off my desktop from My Pictures, which took about 2 hours, presuming that that process would also delete the photos from the Hard Drive, and thus also at the same time from  Photoshop Elements 12( on both Organizer and Editor).  Yet all of those photos I’ve just deleted from My Pictures (and again, presumably from the Hard Drive), are still showing up in Elements 12!!!  I am new to Elements, and quite frankly this is very frustrating. So, my question is - Why do these photos still show up in Organizer if I’ve deleted them from My Pictures (again, presumably also from the Hard Drive)??  I guess I could do more research on this question to find an answer, but I’ve put too much time into this already, so am hoping for someone who REALLY knows the answer – Thx!

    Next time I will do so, as you suggest, and thank you for the reply.  So is there anything I can do NOW to remove the images that I've deleted from the Harddrive, but still show up on Organizer?  Those photos I presume are NO LONGER on the Hard Drive, and again, I can't figure out why the images are showing up in Organizer.  I have started reading something about a reconnect, which may help with removing those images.  Or, any possible other suggestions?
    My goal is to end up wit the same selectively deleted photos that I deleted from MY Pictures and get them deleted off of organizer, without, hopefully, having to go thru and selectively re-delete them again in Organizer.  Besides, if did try that to go back and duplicate selecting and deleting individual images, I am not sure I could select the SAME images for deletion that I did in the MY Pictures deletion.

  • IChat Problems in OsX Lion

    I have numerous problems with iChat, and Mac OS X  lion, but for now, I will just ask about auto reconnect. Has this been disabled? I lied, I will also ask why my buddy list doesn't open automatically when I open iChat.

    Hi,
    Buddy List First.
    If you mean iChat Launches but you don't see the Buddy list you have to check a couple of places.
    1) In the iChat menu > accounts is the said Buddy List name ticked ?
    2) In the iChat menu > Preferences > Accounts > Account info tab does it say "Use this Account" (is it ticked)
    Either of these will mean the account is Logged in.
    You then have to use the Window Menu and the keystrokes listed to bring back the Buddy List (Permanently)
    Other options such as the Dock Icon will only bring it back for that session.
    It works like this:-
    Using the red button only closes the window.
    At this Point it is "Hidden" and only the window menu and those keystrokes will bring it back.
    iChat has always been like this but this "feature" is also part of Lion (See System Preferences > General Section > "Restore Windows when Quitting and Re-opening apps" )
    This is the most Likely
    The other is If 2) above is not ticked in the first place.
    Auto Connect.
    This is most likely down to the method of Connection to the Server involved.
    The AIM Logins since iChat 4 have had the option to be SSL logins.
    If the SSL server is dropped then for security purposes you have to "reset" this manually in iChat.
    This tends to mean Unticking the "Use this Account" box and then ticking it again.
    The other is to Disable SSL whilst Logged out and then Login again then Log out and sett SSL and login (yet) again.
    iChat 6 also does SSL logins across most Jabber Servers, any AIM valid login and the Yahoo option.
    It is the AIM servers that require the most resetting (And are most often dropped).

  • MOVED: Overheating Issues R7 250 and similar and background info

    This topic has been moved to Graphics Cards.
    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=256479.0

    To follow-up with this issue:

  • What will happen if oracle listener is stopped and started again.....

    Hi Gurus,
    Please suggest What will happen if oracle listener is stopped and started again on a running SAP System ?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Lakhbir,
    What will happen is that, all SAP work processes will loose connection to the database.
    If any active jobs(background jobs, updates, insert to database ) are running, they may fail. All the work processes will go to a re-connect state.
    ( There are few notes on WP reconnect which you can check and read about)
    DB Reconnect Parameters - SAP High Availability - SAP Library
    Application will be running but users will not be able to do any activity or may not be able to login at all and may get errors  like ( No connect to database possible)
    As soon as you start the listener process again , all the work processes will connect to the database again.
    This is because the WPs will keep on trying to connect to database at regular interval and as soon as the connection is available they will re-connect.
    You do not have to restart any work process manually in SM50 or anywhere else as this feature is enabled by default until disabled manually.
    Thanks
    Amit

    Remote App on iPad connects but drops after about  20 mins. Need to turn  off wait about 1 minute, then turn on wifi on iMac before it can reconnect. Need some help please.
    Already gone through troubleshooting guide a zillion times. Thanks.

    This worked for me... A little time consuming but once you get rolling it goes GREAT... Thanks....
    I got my artwork and saved it to my Desktop
    Opened up Microsoft Paint and clicked on "File" and "Open" and found it to get it on the screen to resize it
    Clicked "resize" and a box for changing it opened up
    Checked the box "Pixels" and "Unchecked maintain aspect ratio"
    Set Horizontal for 640 and Vertical for 480
    Clicked on "OK" and went back to "File" and did a "Save As" and chose JPEG Picture
    It came up "File Already Existed" and clicked "OK" (really did not care about the original artwork I found because wrong size)
    Went to iTunes and on the movie right clicked on "Get Info", clicked on "Details", then "Artwork"
    Go to the little box on the top left that shows your old artwork and click on it to get the little blue border to appear around it and hit "Delete" to make it gone
    Click on "Add Artwork" and find it where you put the one from above on your Desktop and hit "Open" and OK and your new artwork is now there and all good.
    Sounds like a lot of steps to follow but after around 5 or so you will fly through it. This worked perfect on my iPhone 6 Plus and I have artwork on my Home Videos now.

  • Client reconnection to conventional cluster taking about 9 minutes

    Hi,
    I've set up a 3 node OpenMq (4.4) conventional cluster and am having trouble with client reconnections when I simulate a halt on a node.
    I have two threads within the same process, sending to a pre-configured destination and replying using a temporary queue. Each have a JMS connection to the same home broker. If I bring the home broker down with either the imqcmd command or with a ctrl+c, the goodbye messages are sent and the client connections are immediately reestablished by the connection factory with the next broker. But... if I remove the broker from the cluster by simulating a BSOD, power failure, etc, no goodbye messages are sent (obviously) and the connected clients are left 'connected' to the dead broker and only reconnect to another broker after about 9 minutes.
    I read in the docs that the 'imqPingInterval' property can be used to test the client connections but it doesn't seem to be doing the trick. After I've cut the power to the broker's virtual machine, I'm seeing the ping messages in the logs, e.g.:
    FINEST: Outbound Packet:PING(54):296-127.0.1.1(bd:ea:13:9b:ae:a)-51155-1267024410861;BrokerAddress=10.59.148.9:7676(1082), ConnectionID=4090718717872600064, ReconnectEnabled: true, IsConnectedToHABroker: falseAt this point, telnet cannot connect to 10.59.148.9:7676 so it's definitely gone.
    Finally after about 9 minutes, the following shows up in the logs:

    Handling a machine failure seems like a pretty standard scenario for a cluster so I'm sure there's something I've mis-configured.
    Is there something I can do to fix this?
    If not, the only other alternatives I see are to either:
    1) Try the HA custer. But I'm not sure this will fix the problem if the client is waiting on a dead socket.
    2) Lower the message ack to something like 10 seconds and reconnect to the cluster for a retry every time we get a JMSException. But this is obviously not ideal either.
    Any suggestions would be great.
    Thanks,
    Nick

    I use a mac with 10.8.3 installed. I use Cisco VPN & citrix receiver to connect to work via my home wireless which connects & works brilliantly but then hangs after 57 minutes and about 35 seconds. I disconnect but can't reconnect straight away although it goes through the motions but doesn't find a connection. I have to wait about 10 minutes (or restart the MAC) then it connects fine again and I have another 57 minutes. I previously used 10.6 for a while without any problems and then the VPN just stopped connecting? after trying to resolve without success I upgraded the OS hoping that this might fix the issue which it has but created this other problem! I can live with it but thought there may be some way to correct this surely.  I'm not heavily technically minded and have read reports about the racoon service may be causing this but not sure how you do this very simply step by step
    Thank you for any ideas you can give
